It's cute and I love the story between the two main characters. I like it is a cute story and it's a romance. The writing isn't to complex.

THE WEDDING WITCH is a fun addition to the series that the author has created. Following the third Penhallow brother, Bowen, this was a perfect witchy read for spooky season that had romance, fun and witty banter, and a good story.

The thing I love most about romances is the interaction between the main couple. To watch them grow, discover an interest in one another, especially amid whatever conflict brews in the background, makes it delightful and a good time. This book has that. The interactions between Bowen and Tamsyn were funny and entertaining. They complimented each other. Their chemistry was there.

The story, while a bit convoluted and it did take awhile to get the readers to the main conflict, was entertaining. There do seem to be things that get explained away a bit too quickly. However, I read this book for fun, and to me, it was fun. It made me relaxed. It made me excited for autumn. And it made for a light read. It was an entertaining story, one that I think many would enjoy if they are there for a good time.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book and it think it a great addition to the series. It had spice, witty banter, and a fun romance. If you loved the other books in the series, this one adds to it and then some. It’s probably my favorite so far.

This book follows Bowen Penhallow and Tamsyn Bligh. Bowen hires Tamsyn to help him track down artifacts and the book starts by developing their friendship through texts and emails.

After they unexpectedly meet up at a wedding, Tamsyn tries to get a brooch as an artifact and Bowen is there for a friend. They end up time-traveling to the past unexpectedly which was unexpectedly but interesting.

I really enjoyed this book, apart from a big plot point that just gets explained away because of *MAGIC*. This book is really fast-paced and there isn't must relationship angst apart from the fact that Tamsyn refuses to have any romantic relationships with her boss which Bowen technically is. Overall, highly recommend this book.

Thank you very much for this ARC.

A huge thank you to HarperCollins, Avon, Netgalley, and Erin Sterling for access to this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was thrilled to discover that there is a third installment to the Graves Glen series. It was amazing to follow along the journey of another Penhallow! I really love how these books are interconnected stand alones.

Bowen and Tamsyn are one of my favorite couples! I loved their dynamic and seeing them navigate time travel, ghosts, and magic was delightfully entertaining. Their chemistry is absolutely superb. I really enjoyed the mystery aspect to the story as they work together to figure out time travel and to find their way back while getting a happily ever after for everyone!

Overall, this was a super fun, sweet read for the holiday season full of surprises, adventure, and coziness!

Tropes:
- Grumpy x sunshine
- Fall romance
- Time travel
- Only one bed

This was easily my favorite book of this series. It was fun, it was whimsical, it had an air of mystery, and it had some fiery chemistry between Bowen and Tamsyn.

I loved the dynamic between Bowen and Tamsyn from their very first meeting. Bowen was very clearly enthralled by Tamsyn, and Tamsyn had a very confident, go-after-what-you-want attitude that I admired about her. Even their banter over correspondence and not in person was witty and had a flirty edge to it despite their mutual resistance and denial of feelings.

The time travel element was entertaining and provided some delicious forced proximity between the two of them as they tried to solve the mystery of how to return home. Their interactions with everyone around them were fun and also gave them some outsider insight to their relationship that they weren’t seeing or were unwilling to see for themselves.

I can’t pretend I fully understood the mechanics or the magic that brought them back and how it all played out but that’s ok. It was still fun. There were some various odds and ends from conversations with Tamsyn and Bowen as well as some secondary characters that I would have like a little more development on, but overall this was a quick, enjoyable read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Such wintery vibes without being too christmasy...I mean Yule, as Bowen would say.

I loved seeing gruff Bowen open up to Tamsyn. It was very sweet to see them fall for each other through texts in the beginning. The I need to show Tamsyn this instinct he had when Bowen got put in a kitchy Christmas/Yule sweater was just adorable.

Moving on to the actual plot of this book, the best way to describe it would be fun and sweet. The struggles are more external to the relationship between the main characters as Bowen and Tamsyn fall for and into each other pretty quickly. It is a good start of winter read with some high stakes of ya know being lost in the past or worse.

I loved how everything got tied up in the end as well, it was very much a feel good book.

Erin Sterling, you witchy magical genius.

I absolutely ADORE this entire series. I can’t pinpoint exactly *what* I love about them, but I have thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them.

However, even though this is a witchy read, it gives more Christmas than fall vibes since it revolves around Yule.

I don’t remember the other two very well (I read both of them when they were first released), but I think this one may be my favorite?? I loved the time travel aspect, and the grumpy x sunshine AND one bed trope?!? 🙌

I really enjoyed Bowen and Tamsyn’s characters. Tamsyn’s charm and wit mixed with Bowen’s general grumpiness created an incredible dynamic AND amazing banter. Even though it was (kind-of) insta-love, I still looked forward to all of their interactions.

Overall, The Wedding Witch was an incredibly fun, quick read, and if you love witchy books then you’ll probably like this!

And finally - thank you so much to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

so excited to have gotten an arc of this after how much i loved the ex hex + kiss curse, thank you to Erin Sterling & publishers 🥳

this book follows the third Penhallow brother, Bowen - he’s a bit of a loner in his small mountain town and he works with Tamsyn procure ancient magic items. On the search for answers to a mystery involving his friend, Bowen ends up running into Tamsyn at a wedding and that’s when everything really begins to pick up in the book.

As far as Bowen & Tamsyn goes, they were okay but not my favorite Penhallow couple - the chemistry just wasn’t the same as the other two books. BUT! I did really enjoy the time traveling aspect and the side characters in this! I thought it was a very fun twist on the series not being set in the same place as the first two and it tied in very well!

Shockingly little wedding in this one! I loved the start of this series but each one lately has been a slog for me. I don’t think I connected well with our leads, and it couldn’t hold my interest - which is the recipe for a dnf, but I managed to make it through. This might be the last one for me of the series though.

"The Wedding Witch" by Erin Sterling is if "Back to the Future" was centered around a grumpy male witch and sunshine-y artifacts dealer around Christmas time. This book was a fun mix of fall, Halloween vibes and a Christmas tale. It follows the continuation of the Penhallow brothers specifically Bowen Penhallow, and Tamsyn Bligh.

Bowen Penhallow has always been a bit of a loner. He preferred his life in the countryside of Wales, studying magic and relics. He finds himself in need of someone to track these items down for him. In walks Tamsyn Bligh. Even though she is not a witch, she makes her living retrieving items for them. Bowen and Tamsyn become friends with just a smidge of tension between the two.

Bowen is approached by the spirit of his friend, Declan, to attend a Yuletide wedding at a large estate, Tywyll House in the Welsh countryside. He can not say no his his friend so he agrees. Although he is not expecting to see Tamsyn walking down the stairs his first night there. Tamsyn finds herself at Tywyll House in search of an artifact that would set her up for life. While the two are there, a strong spell and little mistake send them back to 1957. They must find a way to return home while discovering secrets about the estate and facing the fact that they may be falling in love.

While this was a funny, lighthearted story, I did find it selling short from the previous books in "The Ex Hex" series. It was a fast paced book...so much so we really didn't see the evolvement of Bowen and Tamsyn's friendship, let alone the romantic aspect. It felt rushed and like they were in fact feeling more lust than love. As for the actual plot, it was interesting and played out like a fun holiday movie. The mix of fall and winter vibes was a different feel than one would expect, but it works in a way. I will say it did seem more like a Christmas book, since that is when the actual story takes place. Overall the story was fun but it did feel a bit underwhelming from the description and in comparison to the previous stories.

I'm completely enchanted by yet another delightful romance featuring one of the charismatic Penhallow brothers, whisking us away on a brief visit to the magical world of Graves Glen! This book stands out with its haunted house setting, blending elements from 'Back to the Future,' 'The Time Machine,' and 'Doctor Who,' as it revolves around changing the past to save the future.

The spotlight is on Bowen, the eccentric Penhallow sibling with a perfect beard. He enlists the help of Tamsyn Bligh, a stunning and carefree expert in acquiring magical items. Despite a prior mishap involving Tamsyn's brother, Rhys, where a cursed candle nearly put Rhys and Vivienne in danger, Bowen chooses to collaborate with her. Even though their mistletoe kiss left him confused and Tamsyn declared that mixing business with pleasure wasn’t an option, they reluctantly continue working together to hunt down enchanted objects.

While Bowen is celebrating Christmas with the expansive Penhallow family in Graves Glen, Tamsyn, feeling lonely, seeks out extra work. She stumbles upon an incredibly tempting job offer with a $1 million payout—enough to solve her financial troubles and let her leave her job behind.

Her task is to attend a wedding at the ominous, gothic Trywxyll House and retrieve a priceless piece of jewelry for a mysterious client. However, she’s unaware that Bowen is also attending the same wedding, at the request of his old school friend, Declan. The twist? Declan is dead, and his ghost is eager to reconnect with his ex-fiancée, who is marrying someone else at this very wedding.

When Bowen and Tamsyn cross paths at the creepy estate, they decide to join forces in the search for the magical item. What they don’t expect is to be swept away by a powerful spell that transports them back to 1957, where the same house exists—this time without the ghosts. Together, they encounter the ancestors of the house and start to unravel the dark secrets lurking within. Can they put things right and return to their own time without disrupting the future? As their attraction intensifies, they must navigate both their growing feelings and the tangled web of mysteries they need to solve.

'The Wedding Witch' by Erin Sterling is 'Back to the Future' if Marty McFly was a surly Welsh witch. It returns us to the world of 'The Ex Hex' and 'The Kiss Curse,' and finds the third Penhallow brother falling for a human who deals in magical objects, of questionable legality.

I really enjoyed the teasing nature of the protagonists' relationship, in particular, Tamsyn's internal monologue had me laughing out loud a few times. I enjoyed the time travel premise, and I felt like Sterling was able to balance character, story, and world building well. Perhaps my favorite fall, witchy release of 2024!

The Wedding Witch
By Erin Sterling
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5
🌶️ 1.5/5

This is book 3 in the Graves Glen -Jones/Penhallow witches books and I was excited to get back into this fun little world. I loved "The Ex-Hex" and liked "The Kiss Curse" so I was hopeful about "The Wedding Witch" being another cute witchy romcom.

Overall, the witchy paranormal vibes were enough to sustain my interest for this quick and lighthearted read. If you're willing to roll with a bit of insta-love romance with some noticeable plot stretches, this is a quick fall read. I'd recommend reading the previous stories to understand half the characters' names and relevance but otherwise this *could* be read as a stand-alone. Unlike the others that took place in the fall, The Wedding Witch is set at Yule (Christmas) which makes it a little more holiday festive.

I was eager to finish it during #witchweek so I was glad to have a buddy read for discussion and motivation. I realize now that I was really looking forward to more time near Penhaven so this setting was not as satisfying for me as the previous books. We do get some updates about the characters from the first two books so that was definitely a highlight.

Thank you to NetGalley & Avon and Harper Voyager for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

Thank you to NetGalley & Avon and Harper Voyager for this ARC. This is a fun mix of fall meets Christmas with the witches plot. I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters. Bowen is definitely a broody grump and Tamsyn brings out the best in him. The family interactions were fun as well. Definitely a cozy, unique take on a holiday story.

I love this series. It’s always super cute and cozy for me. This was interesting as it was a more Christmas edition of a Halloween based series. I love all the characters, though (like the previous book), I needed a bit more investment in the love story. Just a bit more development or detail and this would have been five stars.

The Wedding Witch was a fun romp through time!

I really enjoyed getting to learn more about Bowen and why he was such a surly loner in the woods. And Tamsyn is so vivacious and fun. Their chemistry was electric and made this a quick, fun, holiday read!

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for the ARC!

This was such a delightful read! The only way this could’ve gotten a higher rating is if it was a squidge longer! I wanted a little more explanation at the ending to settle Bowen’s quest for his friend a little further. BUT! This had one of my favorite tropes (fake marriage / dating) and a microtrope that I didn’t even know I loved in it. Plus, don’t even get me started on the cute and sweet Welsh terms of endearment. I think the Welsh language is so interesting (look up their word for jellyfish 🪼) and beautiful and it’s showcased beautifully here. The spice? Great. The emotional payoff? Stellar.
Recommend? Absolutely!!
