The Wedding Witch departs from whimsical Halloween as a third character I had come to expect of The Ex Hex and The Kiss Curse. The Wedding Witch does not depart from the rushed conclusion, irrationally easy resolutions, and gaping plot holes at the end. I had expected Bowen's story to be a bit different than the other brothers since he did not live near them, nor did he seem to interact with society as often. The issue with Declan serving as the reason Bowen needed to engage Tamlyn's services held promise, but every conflict and issue was wrapped up in a moment so quick that I could have sneezed and missed it. The first book was the best of the series, and this one feels entirely skippable.

OK, honestly? It’s a 5-star read for what it is. Like, is it the most amazing book ever? No. But is it fun? Yes.

I barely remember the previous 2 books in the series, but I know I liked them well enough. I got the third entry from NetGalley so I was able to read it in the early part of Spooky Szn (where I alternate horror with witch rom coms).

I expected the light-and-airy, no-stakes witchy rom com that I got. Yeah, OK, it takes place over Christmas — but it’s about witches so it still counts.

There are some rom coms that really have the relationship as the focus and there are others where it’s more like a movie version of a rom com, where things happen and oh yeah also this couple happens to fall in love. This is the latter. So don’t look for a lot of depth and development, is what I’m saying. But if you want fun, low-stakes, Spoozy Szn vibes, do it. This author excels at that.

A cute and fast paced read featuring a reclusive grumpy witch and a sharp-tongued artifact finder with PLENTY of banter and cute inner dialog.

Pros: #1- Very seasonal. At first, I was confused if it was a fall or winter book, but it still delivered on the cozy seasonal vibes.
#2-Dialog between the two MCs is actually fairly well written and not cringey.
#3- One of the few books that doesn't paint cultural differences in a (mean) joking light. (Ie. "That's just how those AMERICANS are") I'm not even American myself but jokes like that grind my gears.

A few cons: #1 -The main characters went from attraction to love VERY quickly. While it wasn't ista-love there also wasn't a lot of character development for me to believe the feelings are real.
#2- Bowen mentioned that every time he goes on a "rant" about something he finds interesting peoples' eyes glaze over and he can tell they are bored. I really hoped that the FMC would be the one person who loves that about him and listens to his rants but aside from like 1 or 2 times she also cuts him off or calls him a nerd for going on a rant about something he is passionate about.

Thank you to NetGalley, Avon and Harper Voyager, and Erin Sterling for access to this e-Arc in exchange for an honest review.

Our favorite witchy brothers are back - except now it’s Bowen’s story.

Short Synopsis:
Tamsyn is a procurer of magical items and Bowen is her customer. Their paths (and a little bit of time traveling) lead them a wedding of Bowen’s grandparents where they’re in charge of saving the day.

My Thoughts:
This whole series is such a “just vibes” series. It’s witchy, and magical, a touch cheesy and unbelievable but so much fun. The banter was excellent. And I adored seeing more Bowen.

What You’ll Find:
⏳Time traveling
🔥Forced proximity
🎄Mistletoe
☀️Grumpy/ Sunshine
👶🏼Cameos from past characters
🪄Magic

Definitely a 5 star read! It’s cozy, atmospheric, magical and dreamy. The main characters are so funny in their different ways and their story is unique from the first few in this series. The book is well written, the pacing is spot on. I would read anything by this author!

**Book Review: *The Wedding Witch* by Erin Sterling**

*The Wedding Witch* by Erin Sterling is a delightful mix of romance, magic, and humor that whisks readers away to a charming world of witches, weddings, and a little chaos. Known for her witty and enchanting storytelling, Sterling delivers yet another spellbinding novel filled with lovable characters and magical mishaps.

The story centers around Tessa Brooks, a small-town witch who specializes in casting love spells and helping couples tie the knot—literally and magically. As the town’s go-to wedding witch, Tessa’s life is full of love…for others. But when her former flame, Caleb Morgan, returns to town as a guest at one of her most important weddings of the year, sparks fly, and not all of them are magical. Tessa must navigate her lingering feelings for Caleb, all while managing a series of magical accidents that threaten to ruin the wedding and the lives of everyone involved.

Sterling excels at creating relatable, fun characters who feel like old friends by the time you’re halfway through the book. Tessa is witty, warm, and endearing, juggling her magical duties with real-life emotions that make her journey both heartwarming and humorous. Caleb, with his roguish charm and complicated history with Tessa, adds just the right amount of romantic tension, and their chemistry is undeniable. The push-and-pull dynamic between them makes for a swoon-worthy slow burn, with plenty of magical twists along the way.

The world-building in *The Wedding Witch* is charming, set in a cozy, witchy town where magic is just part of everyday life. Sterling adds whimsical touches to the setting that make the story feel immersive—enchanted cakes, love potions, and talking cats are just a few of the delightful elements that keep the magic light and fun. Despite the supernatural elements, the novel's emotional core remains grounded in real-life themes of love, forgiveness, and second chances.

Sterling’s signature blend of humor and heart shines throughout the novel. The dialogue is snappy and clever, with laugh-out-loud moments that balance the romantic tension and emotional beats. The pacing is light and breezy, making it a perfect feel-good read, especially for fans of contemporary romance with a sprinkle of magic.

*The Wedding Witch* is a delightful escape, full of charm and wit, with a satisfying romance at its center. Sterling has crafted a magical world where love is both unpredictable and undeniable, reminding readers that even with a little magic, the journey to true love is never straightforward. Perfect for fans of romantic comedies with a dash of the supernatural, this novel will leave you grinning long after the last page.

I absolutely loved the Kiss Curse and the whole series has been charming little fall reads. Which makes me really upset that this one didn’t do it for me. It was all very rushed and not very thought out. Plus it wasn’t Halloween-y. It won’t stop me from reading another of her books though, the other two still have me as a fan.

Liked this better than the second! Had good pace and great banter. Would recommend series to friends and family!

I did really enjoy the finale to the Penhallow brothers' series. Bowen, the last Penhallow brother not in a committed serious relationship, ties himself to working exclusively with Tamsyn, a witch artifact hunter. Through this story, they must time travel to fix something in the past to make sure the present doesn't stand as is for a particular bride to be, Bowen's best friend Declan's former fiancé.

Quick short read. I enjoyed the plot and the resolution; I mean we all know how romances typically seem to end. I did like Bowen and Tamsyn's characters. This book has the witchy vibes as well as a slight nod to Christmas wedding themes. I would definitely say read this if you've already read The Ex-Hex and The Kiss Curse. If you haven't, I would absolutely recommend reading them all, especially during the fall/ October month!

It's been a while, but boy do I have some *belated* Book Reviews coming your way:

The Wedding Witch by Erin Sterling was the third book in The Ex Hex series, and while the longest wait- was my least favorite.

I've said it 1,000 times but I don't like 🕰 time travel plots, and this book had super likable leads, but felt very awkward- no hurdles to come together, no pining-- they just sort of got there right away and it did not compare to the waiting with baited breath of the sister novels to get to the good parts.

Overall, super fun / super cute / super FAST 🚀 read which I enjoyed, and I highly recommend reading the entire series since you can't go wrong.

The side characters were very fun, as they always are in Erin's books, and Sir Purrcival 🐈 was back which is a huge win for the talking cat community girls. While the holiday in this is Yule 🎄, and not Halloween 👻, I didn't feel weird reading this in September so picking this up anytime between publication 10/08/24 and through New Year's would be a fun ride.

This book is for you if you like:

This book is perfect for this time of year! Witches for spooky season, but it’s set at Yule so there’s just a hint of Christmas vibes (but it’s really not a holiday book). Tamsyn (a human) and Bowen (a witch) are working together to solve a magical mystery, and they accidentally get sent back in time. There was a bit of insta-love that I wish was a little more drawn out, but these two have great banter. It was a quick, fun read and I recommend it if you’re looking for something cozy for the fall!

Thank you to Erin Sterling, HarperCollins/Avon Books, and NetGalley for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I squealed when I got the email that I received the newest addition to "The Ex Hex" books! This is such a fun, easy to read series that I look forward to every year. You have handsome and gorgeous witches with centuries old drama, funny side quests, and really sweet, tender relationships. This one was definitely cozy Christmas vibes (the others have been fall vibes) and I loved getting to see more from a human character. I loved this one and it is perfect to read by the fire.

The Wedding Witch
⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thanks so much to @avonbooks for the free eARC!

I read The Ex Hex and The Kiss Curse last year and they made for enjoyable fall reads! I was so excited when I saw that the third book was coming out this year, but I was a touch disappointed that it wasn’t a fall book like the other two.
This book is set around Yule, but don’t worry, it’s really not that Christmassy, so reading it now is not a big deal at all.
This was a cute, short read, and a great choice when you need something witchy and quick. It’s under three hundred pages.
This had a fun premise, but everything happened so quickly. I also found it to be a little bit insta-lovey. It was still an enjoyable read though!
I loved the banter between Tamsyn and Bowen! Tamsyn had very quick wit and I always enjoy banter with grumpy + sunshine characters.
These two embark on a time-sensitive mission, and they have to solve a mini mystery together.
Overall, this was a nice change of pace and a good seasonal read.
This book will be available on October 8th, so you still have time to read the first two books before it is released.

I LOVED this series and having The Wedding Witch added was topping on the cake. I have re-read the series because it was so darn vibey and cute. It was so fun to get back to the characters in book one and also the weird time travel situation. It is just so darn cozy, I will definitely read anything Erin Sterling writes!

Such a FUN book! It’s a super quick read, but it was so lovely to revisit the Penhallow boys. The MCs fall in love so easily and so naturally and they brought me so much joy! Thanks to HarperCollins/Avon for the ARC.

4⭐️s. Definitely a good read. I enjoyed the magic and how the story played out with trying to fix the spell gone wrong. Love a grumpy MMC. Definitely plan to read more from @erinsterlingbooks. Mark your calendars for October 8th when you can get your own copy of The Wedding Witch.

Bowen is a witch who’s very much a loner and enjoys ancient magic as well as finding unique items. Tamsyn is the one you call for said unique items. She is not a witch but has a lot of involvement with them so to her work. When an opportunity comes that could mean her early retirement, she jumps at it. Tamsyn must now go to the Tywyll House for a witchy wedding to find a magical artifact. She doesn’t not expect to fine Bowen there. Neither expected to be transported back in time to 1958 and have to make sure Bowen’s grandparents get married. Their forced proximity brings out a lot of the chemistry they’ve held back. Read to see if they can get back to the present, why this artifact is so important, and if chemistry turns into more.

This is the third book in the Graves Glen series by Erin Sterling, and it was such a great way to start off spooky season!

It is a witchy, fun romp filled with familiar characters, ancient magic, and time-travel twists. It has banter, spice, the Welsh countryside, and all the entertaining tropes.

The story focuses on the third Penhallow brother, Bowen, who is a reclusive mountain-dweller, determined to help his friend that disappeared in a magical mishap. Tamsyn is a human who professionally hunts down magical artifacts and agrees to work for Bowen exclusively. Sparks fly as the unlikely pair work to uncover all of the magical mysteries.

Thank you to the author, HarperCollins and NetGalley for this e-ARC. This book will be available on October 8, 2024.

So excited to be back with the charming Penhallow brothers. The way I squealed when I got this eARC of The Wedding Witch. I couldn’t wait to see what Bowen was up to in his book, but was a little surprised to find Tamsyn (from the Ex Hex) was the FMC. I wasn’t sure I was going to like her, let alone how she would fit into Bowens story but she definitely delivered and I ended up loving her (no one could ever outshine Gwyn from the series though, sorry Tamsyn!). This book takes place during Yule, so def a later christmasy vibe, but still such a fun fall read.

The Wedding Witch is a faced paced witchy read where witch Bowen and human Tamsyn find themselves traveling back in time to Yule 1957 after fate has them working together. I know Bowen is supposed to come across to be grumpy, but I found him to be a cinnamon roll immediately, and the flirting banter between the two, so good! The spicy scenes are definitely spicier than the first two. If you’re a fan of the series you also get to see what the other brothers are up to, and I was delighted to see another Jones woman tied to the story 👀👀. I will say throughout put the series I need to know what Simon Penhallow is up to, I feel like there’s more to that story that I’ve been waiting to hear throughout this entire series.

Thank you @ NetGalley @Avonbooks @HarperVoyagerUS and @Erinsterling for the ARC of this book 🫶

3.5 Stars

I was very excited to read this last book in this series, and especially for Bowen, the third Penhallow brother, to receive his HEA.

This was takes place near Yule, which is the winter solstice, but since this is a paranormal romance, it definitely fits with the coziness of fall.

I enjoyed the time travel aspect of this book, and really enjoyed the mystery with the side characters. Everything was wrapped up in the story quite well, and the author did a great job of tying up the loose ends!
