This series remains cute and one of the most consistent in the genre. I especially loved the twist in this one and appreciate that Erin has managed to create three distinct plots that work fully as standalones but with each book also building upon the universe of the one before. A fun, surprisingly cozy read that gave off vibes reminiscent of some of my favorite mysteries.

Was this my favorite of the series? Yes!
Was the wait for this one worth it? I'd say yes!
Best Friend Ghost? Say less!

I fear I might be insufferable about this book, in how much I'm gonna recommend it....so if you know me I'm sorry.
This book had a little bit of everything in it, such as time travel, comedy, drama and it also counts as holiday read! Erin Sterling always writes characters that I love (even though I was not fond of Tamsyn in the Kiss Curse). I really enjoyed the chemistry between Tamsyn and Bowen, they are for sure my favorite couple in this series!
Overall, this is a fun and quick read that is super cute and cozy. I would definitely recommend to anyone who ask (again I apologize for how much I may talk about this book to my fellow librarians and patrons)

5/5

I enjoyed this book, especially the second half, but I feel like it was way too short.
I enjoyed the mystery and the time travel aspect of this book, and I thought that Tamsyn and Bowen were cute together and they are such lovable characters.
However, the thing that is keeping this book from being better in my eyes is its length and depth.
I thought that their relationship wasn't really fleshed out at all before they're send back to 1957. I would've loved to see more about their relationship as "coworkers", maybe a bit about how Tamsyn has a past history with getting involved with a former coworker and it ending badly or something to give merit to her not wanting to get involved thing. Also, why did Bowen say that he loves her so early? We as readers have no past history besides their texts (which are super cute by the way) to have an established attraction/interest that would even remotely resemble love. Anyway, I did enjoy their relationship and how the book ended, I just didn't feel as attached to them as I could have.

This was really cute! I have not read the first two in the series before reading this one and I had no trouble following along in the world or with the other characters! This is centered around Yule (Christmas) but wasn’t overwhelming which I really loved.

I did love both of the characters, Tamsyn specifically. Bowen was great too, I just wish we had a little bit more on his past and delved deeper into his character and I would love to see why he is the loner witch who lives in the mountains. As much as I did love Tamsyn I also wanted more from her individually and who she is outside of the jobs that she does. Despite this both characters were very lovable!

Their relationship it was SO cute. In my opinion them loving each other came too fast and I wanted them to get to know each other a bit more before them coming to that conclusion. However, him calling her nicknames in a different language and the angry love confession really got me.

The plot was great, I loved the time travel aspect and I was hooked on what was going to happen next. I will say that the beginning 30% of the book I found really slow and was mostly there to set up the relationship and the plot started around 40%, but after that I could not put the book down.

Overall, super cute romance and the time travel was so fun!

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the ARC.

The Wedding Witch by Erin Sterling is the third in the Ex Hex series, and they just seem to keep getting better and better! This one was definitely my fave. We follow the third Penhallow brother, Bowen, and professional procurer of magical items extraordinaire, Tamsyn Bligh, as they search for important artifacts. Lead by their individual motivations, their paths end up crossing in a very crazy and hexy way. Forced to work together to get back to their lives, the tension between these two is palpable! Bowen may be my favorite Penhallow brother. He is kind, smart, and determined! Tamsyn is fun and witty, and even without magic, she's a force to reckon with. They are a great match!
Thank you, Avon and Harper Voyager and NetGalley, for early access to read The Wedding Witch in exchange for an honest review. We're out of Penhallow brother... are we moving to cousins next? There's a next right??

A Witchy Yuletide wedding in the Welsh country side brings Bowen Penhallow and Tasmyn Bligh together once again. They’re there for very different reasons but end up having to work together due to a very strong spell combined with a wedding mishap that transports them back in time to 1958. They have to face off with the origins of Tywylll Houses haunting, suspicious witches and somewhere in the middle of all the chaos they might be falling in love. The loner witch obsessed with ancient magic and old artifacts and a witty and outgoing business woman together, who could’ve thought they’d end up together.

I devoured this book in a day, its so different from the other books in the series and I couldn’t wait to see where the story went next. Its a good mix of character and plot driven storylines, the romance, Bowen opening up about his failed spell, Tasmyn looking for the brooch and them working on getting back to 2024. I found the element of time travel is used in a very impactful way by Sterling. Tasmyn and Bowen have amazing chemistry and I literally squealed when the people in 1958 pegged them as newlyweds and made them share a room.

This is one of my favorite romantasy series as someone who’s a big romance reader. It’s not to heavy on the witchcraft and magic of it all which makes it really easy to read. Although it still stands out from what I usually read. The characters are super likable for the most part, there are definitely some villains to root against. It’s spicy, told from a dual POV and has overlapping storylines. Each Penhallow brother has his own book now with some incredible fmcs and i think this might just be my favorite one.

This is a great read for the romance readers who wants to spice things up around the holidays with a witchy read. As well as fans of romantasy and paranormal books.

I’d been waiting for Bowen’s story and it did not disappoint. Bowen was grumpy and broody but a secret teddy bear. I loved his loyalty and his POV and watching him go crazy over Tamsyn.

They were total opposites but very endearing together and really understood each other. I liked that they are quasi-friends/co workers for about a year before the story really begins so it felt more like a semi friends to lovers romance.

Really a perfect cozy rom com to curl up to!

I really liked this one but I didn't get as much witchy vibes as I have come to expect with this series. I did really love these characters and the mystery they had to solve to return them selves back to the present. It did end feeling a bit unresolved, maybe there will be a book about Emerald, because there were a lot of questions I was left with. It is set at Christmas/Yule but it wasn't an overwhelming holiday read, it could honestly be read whenever. It is a short and sweet read, under 300 pages, fast paced and easily held my attention. This is a case of insta-love mostly because of how short it is so if you aren't a fan of that, this might be the one for you. This is a must read for anyone who wants to continue the Ex-Hex series or anyone who likes witch/time travel/quick and easy reads.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I’m obsessed that this series has gotten BETTER with every book. I loved Bowen and his remoteness and ability to cave for Tamsyn. Out of all the books I found this plot line to be the most interesting and honestly, the most laugh out loud.

There was an air of mystery to the book, trying to figure out why they went back in time and how would they move forward back to present day. I honestly wish the book was longer and that’s my reason for holding back five stars. I felt the ending was a little rushed and I wish we would’ve had more explanation for how Declan came to be, along with Emerald.

Overall I would recommended especially if you’d read others in this series but it COULD stand alone.

Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Publication date set for Oct 8, 2024

This is a cute (…and a tad bit spicy) holiday-themed witchy romance that overall, I enjoyed. I was not familiar with the Ex-Hex series before reading this one - so it’s safe to say it CAN be read as a standalone. Will I be going back and reading the first two? Yes, probably. But not having those side-characters characters backgrounds didn’t affect the plot or ease of reading at all.

Erin Sterling/Rachel Hawkins—girl you’ve done it again!

I love this series! It’s so fun and so entertaining. Banter is always on point and the characters are so enjoyable to follow. I love the story of Bowen and Tamsyn way more than I could have ever expected. Dare I say they are my new favorite couple?!

Time travel, spicy scenes, magic, ghosts, weddings, family drama—this book has it all!

So much fun reading and enjoyed every bit of it! Thank you NetGalley, Erin Sterling (Rachel Hawkins), and Avon & Harper Voyager for the ARC. It’s been a joy!

Perhaps a little early to be reading a holiday-set romance, but I've also just really been enjoying myself with Sterling's Ex Hex series and I knew this would be something light and easy and entertaining to break an arguably terrible reading slump. (And I was right!) It did feel, at times, like there was a bit too much spaghetti thrown at the wall plot-wise to have every thread resolve perfectly neatly by the end, and in terms of pacing I was actually hoping for a bit more time in the past for Bowen and Tamsyn to enjoy playing out their fake marriage, but overall this one was a delight to sit with — just magical and hilarious and entertaining.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this edition from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Wedding Witch
by Erin Sterling
4⭐️

I read The Ex Hex a few months ago and I was not a fan at all, so much that I tossed my copy to my goodwill pile because I had to force myself to finish. It just didn’t work for me so I was a little hesitant when I realized that this was a connected standalone. I was worried for absolutely nothing because from the start this was SO good! I think this is my first christmas witchy romance and now it’s all that I can think of. I loved how Tamsyn and Bowen clicked so well together, their chemistry was so good! I love how they were both crushing on each other while thinking the other would never be interested. I love it when a relationship is slowly built through flirty emails/texts! There were some small insta love vibes but I didn’t really mind. The time traveling aspect was super cool, especially getting to meet characters that you sort of already know.

I almost always comment on how pacing could have been faster but this is one of the rare moments where I think this could have benefited from slowing down. I wish the ending could have been fleshed out a bit more, especially the parts about how the magic worked and what exactly happened because I was heavily invested. I’m still giving this 4⭐️ because I had a great time and literally could not put it down until I finished.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Harper Voyager for this gifted arc!

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to read this one! I really enjoyed Erin Sterling's previous books in this series and was really excited about reading Bowen's story. However, I will say, for me, this was my least favorite of the three. I struggled to connect with the main couple, as they spent a lot of their time apart in the beginning and when they did end up traveling together, suddenly they were in love? It would've been nice to see them falling for each other while they're trying to solve their predicament. I really liked seeing the rest of the brothers and their significant others in the cameos. Overall, a nice series!

I was a little nervous when I saw this was #3 in a series, but I dived in anyway and ended up LOVING this one. It’s so cute, fun, and romantic (maybe a touch smutty, lol). I liked it enough that I’ll definitely go back and read the rest of the series.

✨ARC Review✨

Did someone say Summerween? Christmas in July? I just read the book that satisfies both of these needs. We have the third in the Graves Glen series by @erinsterlingbooks; this one featuring the middle brother, Bowen Penhallow, heretofore known as the silent, solitary mountain man witch. He’s trying to right a wrong he thinks he committed a decade ago and hires Tamsyn Bligh to help him.

Shenanigans ensue natch. These two end up time traveling to 1957 and have to figure out together how (if?) they can get back to present day.

They are friends with a distinct attraction to one another that has been tamped down for the year since they shared a smoldering kiss on Christmas Eve. Do you reckon they’ll be able to keep that tamped down while they pretend to be a married couple sharing a bed?

I adore all of the Graves Glen books and am happy to report this is just as wonderful. All the stars for the witchy and Yuletide vibes!

I received an ARC of this book from #netgalley and @AvonBooks @HarperVoyagerUS. All thoughts are mine alone.

The Ex-Hex series is an absolute favorite of mine and this addition to the series makes me love it even more.

The Wedding Witch is the perfect ‘curl up on the couch, candles lit, a cup of tea and a warm blanket’ kind of book. The whole story felt like a warm hug.

The setting alone had me wanting to jump through the pages and into this world. I didn’t know I needed a haunted house, time traveling, witchy love story until I started this book and I loved every minute of it!

Bowen and Tamsyn’s story was a bewitching good time and if you’re looking for a book to add to those Halloween nights make sure to add this one!

The Wedding Witch releases on October 8th and I cannot wait to grab a physical copy!

Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for an arc of this book. All opinions are my own.

Erin Sterling has completed the trifecta, bringing us the final Penhallow brother, Bowen, and all his broody, inquisitive, and witchy glory. Bowen, the third Penhallow brother with the longest beard and proclivity to be a bit of a loner/recluse, has spent the last several years up in the mountainside forests of Wales researching ancient magic. It isn’t until Bowen is approached by the ghost of his best friend from college, Declan, asking him to attend a Yuletide wedding, that Bowen decides to venture down the mountainside into civilization.

Now on the other side of the story we have Tamsyn Bligh, notorious dark magic artifact hunter and seller (even though she’s fully human) and Bowen’s right hand lady when it comes to sourcing artifacts for him to research. When Tamsyn takes a job at the wedding Bowen has been asked to attend, everything goes sideways quickly when they find themselves pulled back through time almost 70 years, to the wedding of Bowen’s late grandparents.

It’s a race against time to figure out why they were brought back to this very moment and what they need to fix in the past in order to right the future. If they don’t figure it out in time, they cease to exist. Their journey is filled with nothing but sexual tension and frustration as Bowen and Tamsyn have been the main character in each other’s fantasies over the last year. But there’s a catch, Tamsyn is a firm believer in never mixing business with pleasure and her rule is about to be both of their undoing. Can they get it together long enough to land them firmly back in the future before time runs out? The stakes are high and love is on the line in more ways than one.

I’m such a sucker for this series. There’s just nothing better than a good old love story mixed with witches and magic to hold me captive over several hours. Even though this is the third installment in the series, each book can really be read as a standalone (it’s just a lot more fun to read them together). Bowen and Tamsyn’s relationship with each other is really what hits this one home. Their carefree and witty banter with the undercurrent of longing keeps you turning the page to just get to the part where they realize they love each other already! Their characters really are some of my favorite and I believe Erin may have saved the best for last.

The ONLY negative I really have here is that the explanation at the end of how everything pans out was just too vague for me (I’m being intentionally vague here for a reason so I don’t spoil anything-you’re welcome). But essentially, I just wanted a bit more for the wrap up and how/why everything happened like it did (IYKYK). Regardless, I still loved the adorable storyline and characters. I’m curious to see if this is the end of the line for the Penhallow brothers or if they will be back again to elicit further swooning?? Only time will tell!

What a vibrant and immensely entertaining read! Filled with provocative writing, dramatic well built characters and mysterious turns that are wicked! 😆 Plus, Tamsyn’s inner dialogue is hilarious. Definitely enjoyable all around and makes me not only yearn to return to Wales, but it also makes me want to seek out more of Erin Sterling’s books.

Bowen is invited to a wedding and he agrees, not without complaint. Tamsyn is giving a job that takes her to the same wedding, even though she is solely suppose to be working for Bowen. Some magic has transported both back in time to 1957. They have to work together to get back to the present.

I devoured this in one day. This is the perfect fall read. Entertaining, attraction, time travel - what more can you ask for?

Thank you to Erin Sterling, Avon & Harper Voyager, and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for any honest review.
