The first two books of this series were so fun! They were made for Fall and you felt all the love and magic of the season. This book was cute and fun but not as good as the other two. I think the author couldn’t decide which plot they wanted to follow. We have the relationship which went from 0 to 100 with no real development in between. We have his family dynamics and basically being a hermit. We have the disappearance of his friend who is alive but not a ghost. We have the time travel to the past and getting his grandparents back together. It was just all too much. We don’t get enough development for any one section to feel connected to the book. I did like the banter via text/email between our two mains.

What I’m Starry-Eyed Over:
🤩 I’ve enjoyed all three books in the Graves Glen series, but this one might be my favorite. It totally works as a standalone.
🤩 Single POV and one narrator works great! She has a gorgeous voice and accents and is a fabulous storyteller.
🤩 Magical realism—Bowen Penhallow is a witch.
🤩 Hilarious meet-cute and fabulous re-meet-cute! Both on Christmas Eve/Yule—I picked the perfect day to read this beauty, but it can be read anytime.
🤩 The cutest kiss before the handshake.
🤩 All the fantastic text/email chats! I love how they get to know each other while Tasmsyn works for Bowen.
🤩 A wedding house party in a castle in the Welsh countryside, yes please!!
🤩 Tamsyn Bligh and Bowen Penhallow have hilarious banter. Laugh-out-loud funny!
🤩 Clever time travel plot—just might be my favorite time travel ever, probably because the MCs are together and pretending to be a married couple!!
🤩 Only-one-bed magic of a different kind! Bowen and Tamsyn are hot and so very fun!
🤩 Holy hotness—the bathtub scene is perfection.

What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About:
💫 Nothing at all.

As always I love Erin Sterling (Rachel Hawkins) and the Wedding Witch was a good continuation of the The Ex Hex stories. I didn't feel as connected with the romance of the characters in this one and missed Graves Glen although this was set in swoony Wales. The time travel component was really cool and added another magical element to the story. I wouldn't necessarily call it a Christmas read, but it definitely felt like a read by the fire type of book. Good read!

thank you to netgalley and avon and harper voyager for this eARC!

i really enjoyed this book. definitely gonna need to read the other books in the graves glen series.

i have to say, im really glad i didn’t have to spend very long waiting for him to come to terms with his feelings because that would have pissed me off. honestly, despite what i’d normally say, i kind of like the way we time-skipped those beginning stages of their working relationship. it worked really well for the time line of the novel.

i also really liked the bordering-on-protective thing he had going on. i think the rugged mountain man thing worked for me.

i was a big fan of the plot. the magic, the going back in time, the reasons they both had for being there. it all worked so well and made me want to keep reading the whole way through.

the plot-twist with emerald at the end was a little corny but that’s okay. the ending overall was nice and the reunion with declan was very sweet.

all in all, this was a fantastic book and i would for sure recommend this, especially right now (around christmas). loved it.

This was a super fun entry in the series! I really enjoyed taking a former villain/foil and making her the protagonist in this one, it was a nice twist on the tradition of taking a tertiary character and making them the focus.

This one was unfortunately the lowest of the series for me. I got halfway through and then put it down, thinking I would come back to it, but I just had so many other good books waiting for me, and I wasn't that invested in Bowen and Tamsyn's relationship.

I may try again at some point, maybe during a reread of the other two in the series, but for me, the vibes were just meh.

This is a really cute series however this was my least favorite in the series. I think I wasn't in the headspace for a witchy read tied to the holidays (personal preference) and the book seemed to jump into the plot/relationship without a lot of buildup. For a stand alone book in a series I would have enjoyed more of a slow build in the first half of the book. The banter and the messages/emails/texts were cute and my favorite part!

I love this whole series so this was a fun way to end it. It was a great between read from Halloween and Christmas. The broodiness of the MMC was delightful and the time traveling element was fun!

The Wedding Witch was one of my most anticipated books of the year. It’s the 3rd book in the Penhallow series. This book follows the grumpy brother Bowen and his associate Tamsyn who procures magical items for him. The story was told from both points of view and was a fun adventure. It would be perfect for any fan of Doctor Who holiday specials. It’s full of time travel, one bed situations and the magic of it all is so fun, you can’t help but be entertained.

Mary Jane Wells was an excellent narrator giving Bowen and Tamsyn life. She got Bowen’s grumpiness with the accent to perfection and my American brain appreciated the reprieve to Tamsyn’s American accent. I needed to slow down the speed I listened to when they had the Scottish accent. It’s the same for that accent and me at all times, I just have a harder time understanding it.

Thank you for the ARC, this is my honest review of the book.

Book three in The Ex Hex series and it took me by surprise! Time travel, mysterious magical objects, weddings gone awry...magical artifact finder Tamsyn Bligh and loner witch Bowen Penhallow have their work cut out for them. After working together for the past year, Tamsyn and Bowen have secretly fallen for each other over their digital communications. After a series of coincidences has them both attending the same wedding over Yule, they find themselves thrust into a mystery and magical dilemma that could lead to them disappearing if they don't solve it in time. I found this one sweet, lightly suspenseful, and a little spicy! I recommend it, especially for those who have read the rest of the books in the series or enjoy a fun paranormal romance. Thank you to Avon Books for the advanced reading copy, receipt of which did not impact my review.

This was a very cute, fun, wintery paranormal romance. I admit, I didn’t read the previous books in this series, but was easily able to slip into this world, especially because it takes a timey-wimey twist.

Bowen is a broody loner who is determined to solve a magical mystery for his friend Declan. He is, of course, not telling anyone his true intentions here, so he tries to go through a magical acquirer of things to further his research. Tamsyn is said “acquirer” and he has an adorably awkward meeting with her that ends with a kiss and her accepting his business proposition. Through ghostly and ramen intervention, both these lonely friends end up together on an estate for a wedding that turns sour when yet another ghost interferes.

When the bride has a major meltdown, Tamsyn and Bowen somehow end up back in time and trapped in (gasp) a room with only one bed! This was truly fun and romantic, and it even had some good mystery that shocked me at the end. There’s smutty goodness and a really fun time all wrapped into this romance. I’d recommend this even if you haven’t read the others in the series (like me). It gave good holiday vibes, too!

This book of Sterling's has more magic feel than her previous. I felt like this book was heavier on magic/time travel than her previous books and not as heavy on plot. I didn't love the first half of the book, but came to enjoy the characters and plot the second half of the book.

I'm glad I saved this one for December since it felt more like a Christmas witchy read than October bookish vibes. I really enjoy this whole series. I'm easily swept up in Sterling's storytelling and settings she creates. She's really good at banter with her characters, which is important for me to stay entertained when reading a romcom type novel. I also love a good time travel and mystery elements story, so that was a nice twist. I will be honest and say that the first two were a little better to me, but that doesn't take away from it being an overall good series that I highly recommend if this is your type of reading.

Thank you to Avon Harper Voyager and Netgalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review. And thank you to Erin Sterling for putting out books that make me happy every year.

I love this author's writing so much. I have read several of her other books, and this one was possible one of my favorites. It was cute and fun with some spice. I think the characters of the women that were written about were so well done. I highly recommend this book. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Thank you Net Galley ARC

. This was very fun, and maybe my favorite of the series so far. I enjoyed the strong ladies playing leading, powerful roles. The romance was swoon-worthy.

For me, this one was just okay. I felt like the plot was just kind of all over the place in the beginning and middle and then towards the end everything did end up coming together with a really nice ending, but it was rushed to get there. The beginning focused a lot on getting the ancient artifacts and the reasoning behind why that was being done was rushed when it came to the explanation. It wasn't a bad read by any means, just not the best.

The final installment in the Ex Hex Series, The Wedding Witch focuses on Bowen and Tamsyn. Tamsyn helps Bowen retrieve items he needs to for his spells, all while trying to avoid the spells of love fluttering inside her!

Thanks to Avon and Netgalley for this advanced copy!

This has been such a fun series and I really liked this addition to it. Bowen is such a grumpy grump and Tamysn is such sunshine and I loved how their relationship played out over email so that the second they were in-person together they could hit the ground running on both the action and their feelings. Did we need time travel in the middle of this book? I don't know, but it was a fun way to create forced proximity and add some drama so sure, go with it.

I think this is the end of the series, which is sad, but I'll read more from Sterling in a heartbeat. Her characters are fun and flirty and I appreciate her world building.
