This was kind of just a "I'm not like other girls!" romance of its time. I remember having some fun, but... It's hard to be into a "bad boy" cliche named Brett.

Emily believes he threw a martial arts match and thinks him a quitter. Brett has juvenile arthritis an extremely disease, but no one is aware of his condition. He has been in love with Emily for years but since she isn’t interested in him, he needs to find a way to vanquish her from his thoughts.

When leaving the mall, Emily is confronted by a vampire. Her family have been vampire Chasers for five generations, but she hasn’t reached an age to begin fighting them. Erick and Brett catch up with her as she is fighting and are each attacked. Emily and Erick know what is happening, but Brett is not a Chaser. He cannot understand why these guys won’t stay down.

The book is written in third person point of view and switches characters throughout. This is a novella in the Unholy Alliance series. It is a fast read with action and adventure. The story moves quickly, and the characters are developed.

You do not need to read Alliance to read this novella, but Shane does make an appearance.

This is a quick novella about a Chaser named Emily and Brent, her ex-friend. I loved how Brent loved Emily and he even tried to give her up when he felt she didn’t want him but he just couldn’t and it was so cute. Emily was annoying at some points but she is 18 years old so it’s understandable.

I want not Shane and Maggie, I need more Shane and Maggie!

This one just didn't do it for me. I wanted to love this book seeing as I used to kickbox, but this one just didn't do it for me. Sadly I almost DNF'ed it a few times, but made myself finish.
