Get on the roller coaster and hang tight. So fun couldn’t rember all the benefits but loved them each time one was reviewed. Fast fast fun!

The fun continues in this 2nd installment of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. All the same humor, sharply relatable 2020s cultural references, adventure, heartfelt moments and clues towards the question of what's really going in this Dungeon Crawl. I felt this book's pacing was slower, with much more emphasis put into story prep and world building. It really feels like the TTRPG sessions where the adventure party is in town, stocking up on supplies and gathering info for their next missions. All necessary and interesting, but with the charged air of much bigger things to come.

Book 3 in the series, and everything gets bigger and better! The sponsorship program is finally open, and we get to fight new mobs...on the subway!
I really wish this series had a thousand books :D

4.5 stars
I am late to the party but definitely having a blast! I’ve had my eye on this series for a while & am so glad I made it a priority. I binged the first book in a day and repeated the same with this book. As much as I loved the first book, the second was even more fun. Do yourself a favor and listen to the audiobook. Jeff Hays does a masterclass with his narration. All of the character voices are spot-on, from the AI announcements to Donut’s all caps screams! I went right from this book to the third. So much fun!
*Thanks to Berkley & NetGalley

"Carl's Doomsday Scenario" is more of the worse elements of the first. Gratuitous, revolting descriptions, wandering side-quests, and a myriad of new characters. There was an interesting bit at the beginning with an abandoned circus tent, which felt like a different book from the second half. The main focus was a quest to find out why there were piles and piles of dead prostitutes in alleys and castles. Can someone ask men why they need to feature dead prostitutes in every other book they write?? The objectification of women's bodies couldn't get any worse. This book could have used a lot of editing, cutting, and pacing help.

Hilarious and surprisingly heartwarming. Carl and Donut are the perfect duo in this post alien apocalyptic worl.d.

If you thought *Dungeon Crawler Carl* was wild, just wait until you dive into *Carl’s Doomsday Scenario*. The second installment in Matt Dinniman’s addictive, genre-bending series somehow cranks the chaos, humor, and emotional stakes up even higher.
Carl’s sarcastic commentary is as sharp as ever, but this time, there’s more depth behind the banter. Between boss battles and desperate attempts to maintain their fan-favorite status, Carl starts grappling with the deeper horror of being a pawn in an intergalactic reality show. And Donut? She’s still a fabulous murder queen, but she’s also got secrets of her own.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this series!! Thank you so much to NetGalley for making these titles available, I have devoured the first 3 books in this series, and can't want to read more. So funny, so fun, so unexpectedly thought-provoking. I am a huge fan of Matt Dinniman's work, and I've already made sure to order all the titles available for my library. I just spent a 4th of July party raving about these books to all sorts of people (who probably thought I was unhinged - oh well!) and I'm already talking them up to my patrons.

To say I'm obsessed with Carl and Donut would be an understatement. I love watching these characters grow as they get deeper into the dungeon and also watching their knowledge of the lore of this world expand. I'm excited to see what happens with quests, classes and races on deeper floors too.
At a point in book 1, I started to think a dungeon crawl couldn't possibly be interesting for more than one, maybe 2 books. I have completely changed my mind. Each floor of the dungeon has enough new drama going on that I'm going to be disappointed when Carl and Donut beat the boss on the 18th floor (cuz they obviously will, right?).

What a great second book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series! This was a 4.5 star for me as I did love this book but not as much as I loved the first! This one was more action packed I’d say, the non stop quests kind of got away from me a little bit there at the end, The audible gasp I let out at 11pm when they didn’t get the boxes, I was also outraged lol.
The plot, setting and characters were all still so amazing and I already have book three pulled up in my kindle, the banter was still amazing, Donut was still the queen herself.
I feel like this book was a great set up for the rest of the series, Odettes show left me with me A LOT of questions!
All in all, great book I loved it.
It’s hard to keep this series from becoming my personality lol.
These books are exactly what I need in my life right now, the witty humor, but also the sweet moments between Carl and donut, “ I know she’s dead “ I didn’t know a little Persian cat could make me tear up.

I enjoyed this next adventure from Carl. Dinniman’s writing is improving especially his characterization of Carl and Donut. The world building continues to be impressive.

Thanks to Berkley and Netgalley for the opportunity to get a start on Matt Dinniman’s bizarrely funny Dungeon Crawler series!

If i could give this 10 stars, I would! I LOVED IT!!!! hilarious, deeply violent, and surprisingly emotional which you usually don't get from a male author writing sci-fi.
the enemies are weird in a good way, the jokes are hilarious, and the stakes are super personal. And who doesn't love Princess Donut. She remains my favorite pat of this whole book!.

5 Stars
There is just something really special about these books. I haven't read other RPG books, so it's difficult to compare it to others in its genre. However Carl and Princess Donut is still subperb. The comedy, the game style antics, and their dynamic is just chef's kiss. I enjoy these books so much and they bring me so much joy.
I thought maybe with this being the sequel it would start losing some of its spark, but it does not. It's still fresh and really enjoyable. I recommend this series to pretty much anyone its a good time and although longer its a great book to help get someone out of a reading slump.
Thank you to Netgalley and Berkley Publishing Group for this advanced reader copy. My review is voluntarily my own.

Not my type of humor.
Extremely low brow.
I’m not the target audience for this book unfortunately

Carl and Princess Donut did not disappoint in this 2nd book. Even more fun than book 1, we continue to follow them through more floors of the dungeon. Definitely recommend these books if you are looking for something new, different and fun!

The second book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series was just as good as the first. The shenanigans they get themselves involved in are often hilarious and they keep you on the edge of your seat. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite series!

This is the second book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series and it returns with everything you loved from the first book only now with even more world-building and intrigue. I really enjoyed the shift from the cave tunnels to that classic RPG-style village and outer wilderness setting teeming with creatures. You can also see the build up that will be explored in further books including more of the behind the scenes politics and what role it plays in the games. We also meet new types of characters and get to know more about the other crawlers and how they are playing the game. The concept of other shows and storylines within the show was also really interesting and, not going to lie, I’m kind of invested. One of the things I’m both looking forward to and dreading in future books are secrets and manipulations coming to light and how they will play out. But one thing’s for sure, I will be there for every step! I’m really loving this series and have already begun devouring the next book!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance review copy. This review was written voluntarily.

Carl and Donut are back, and the Crawl is meaner, weirder, and more hilarious than ever. This sequel cranks up everything: the action, the absurdity, the social satire — and somehow, the emotional stakes too. The writing is fast, furious, and ferociously clever, blending chaos and heart in equal measure.
Smart, savage, and surprisingly moving — a perfect second act in one of the wildest LitRPG series out there. (I think… anyways… 🤪)
Brilliantly bonkers. Brutally funny. Surprisingly emotional.
This is building something truly original, terrifying, and addictively readable.
Thank you to NetGalley & Berkley Publishing Group for this eArc!

This series is even more entertaining. I am loving it. I love the extra characters that have been added. The talk shows have been some of my favorite scenes.
Mongo is amazing and I am continuously obsessed with Princess Donut.
*Thank you so much Ace for a free eARC in exchange for an honest review.
