What a delightful follow up start to the spinoff of the “Him” universe! The magic duo behind “Wesime” brings us a delightful story of two of the background characters, Blake and Jess!

Jess is so relatable! She doesn’t know what she wants her path to be and keeps trying to find it, while struggling to accept the help that she has. She found a new path, which brings her to Toronto where her brother and brother in law live, alongside her brother in laws teammate, Blake Riley.

Blake is such a golden retriever of a man. He gives and gives to the point where he sometimes forgets himself. The way that he cares for Jess, is magical.

Overall, this was a fun extension of the Him universe, and I can’t wait for the traditional rerelease!

This book was really promising until Blake Riley was introduced. I made it about 20 pages past that before putting the book down. Seriously major major major ick. Even if he’s a softie deep down he came off like a major frat douche. There are ways to have characters come off douchey without being this gross. I just couldn’t. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC.

I love Sarina Bowen and I think this is one of the best banter-tactic things she’s ever written. I love the Him/Us world and you should too.

I’m a huge fan of M/M Hockey Romance, so when I saw this book was connected to Him by Sarina Bowen, one of my favorites, I had to read it. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I’m hooked on this series now 🙌

I adore big broody guys who are secretly soft and sweet, and this book nails the reverse Grumpy-Sunshine trope. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts, and their banter is hilarious and sexy 😍

I also love stories where one of the characters feels broken, and the other one helps them heal and grow by being supportive and loving. This book delivers that beautifully 💕

This slow burn is funny, romantic and just fantastic. I gave it four stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and five hearts ❤❤❤❤❤ for its romance, and two chilli peppers 🌶🌶 for its spiciness. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
