I really enjoyed this book even though not having read any previous books by M.J. Rose. I enjoyed the romance mixed in with the historical aspect and loved all the descriptions of perfumery. Overall a great read with well developed and enjoyable characters.

This was a fascinating historical read. I always enjoy stories set in Italy but a lot of historical fiction is focused on the same type of stories with the Medicis and this one had an interesting twist.
