4.5⭐️
Thank you to NetGalley for sharing this ARC with me!
This was such a cute read! As a huge fan of the female in STEM characters and stories, I thought that Allie and Hudson's story was really sweet! They definitely had chemistry, the spice was good, and I liked the premise of their story (Hollywood actor comes to lab to prepare for his role as he redefines his spot in film, busy scientist doesn't want to tutor him, they fall in love).
I didn't read the first book in the series but I don't think it mattered too much. Allie and Hudson's story stands alone and it's really quite sweet! I love that Summers tackled women in STEM, trust issues, and gender stereotypes in a playful but honest way. I think both characters stood up well on their own and I appreciated the family scenes for Allie. They added a nice glimpse of a full life - and a contrast to what Hudson had and wanted in his own life.
I gave this 4.5/5 because I think it was almost perfect! Some of the media stuff felt forced (I get why there was the social media guy in between chapters but it got super annoying). I also feel like the last 10% felt a little bit expected? A few scenes had me skimming a little bit near the end - but having read many romances now, I know why things were done the way they were. Again nothing horrible and honestly, I can't deny I wanted to find out what happened in the end! Really enjoyed this read overall! Quick summer read with great romance!

This one was cute! It was slow to start but once it picked up the pace, I flew through LOVE SIGNALS by Melanie Summers
I liked that our lovers made each other better. I particularly loved the dyslexia rep and the classic trope of a movie star falling for a commoner
I struggled with Allie's obsession with work but found her to be brilliant and intelligent. The Instagram reels were a bit of an odd theme but I loved that when Hudson fell, he fell hard!
If you're after another STEM-romance, check this one out
Thanks to NetGalley and Indigo Group for the ARC! Opinions are my own

I love Melanie Summers and I always enjoy her books!
She has such a brilliant way to bringing together a story that is never like a recipe, it always has a surprise element and is never boring or standard.
The dynamic between Allie and Hudson is perfection. We love enemies to lovers, we love forced proximity and we love STEM!
The additional food analogies are spot on too!

In Love Struck #2 we return to SETI and get Allie's story.
This gem for sure can be read as a standalone.
"Hudson grins, and when his dimples pop, I swear to God, you can hear the eggs dropping all around the room, even from the post-menopausal women among us" 🤣❤️
No pepper....you want to find tomato paste. - you will know what this means when you read the book 😉
I was so excited to read more about Allie and fell in love with her and Hudson.
Dr. Allie Cammareri is brilliant in her career but not when it comes to susing out lying, cheating men. When she is not only passed over again to present her work at world SETI conference, she also is informed she has to babysit actor Hudson Finch to prepare for a role as the founder of her Research Institute. She has vowed to keep lying men out of reach so she can final complete a industry changing project all on her own. She did not expect to fall in love.
Hudson Finch is Hollywood's surfer, sexy and heartthrob favorite. Now in his final year of being 30 his agent and team advise him to take more serious roles. Hiding dyslexia for his whole life he has so many apprehensions in going to SETI to prepare for a role acting as it's founder feeling less than. What he wasn't prepared for was meeting Allie.
So many funny, sweet and candid moments as we watched Allie and Hudson story unfold. Also how they both get over there past hang ups to realize how much they care for each other.
Allie's big italian and opinionated family (much like my own) had me in stitches through out the book and both helped and hurt her cause when it came to Hudson.
Hudson's handsome hollywood image being discovered as a front for self doubt, but also his need to be mostly that sweet caring persona without realizing it.
I soooo recommend this book!

I've read The Space Between Us, the reason why I gave a chance to this book. The Dyslexia rep was perfectly finetuned in the book. I enjoyed most of the parts but the overstretched drama made me skim and skip chapters.
Thank you NetGalley for this review copy ❤️

One of my favourite things about reading this book was seeing these two fall for one another. It’s slow at first, and then it picks up the pace and it’s fantastic. I liked what they did with each other. They made the other better and that was nice to see.

I really wanted to like this book, but I could not get into it. Allie is obsessed with her work, mainly for the purpose of taking down someone who stole her work. She apparently needs to work 24/7, but all she has to do is watch a screen to see if something was found? I found this pretty unbelievable. Hudson seemed like a likeable character but I just didn't feel any chemistry between the two of them. I also felt the sexual innuendos were over the top and unnecessary. I like for characters to have a connection other than "their bodies look hot". I really tried to get through this book, but I could not. I may it about 30% through. It was not my cup of tea.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. All opinons are my own.

Brains and brawn...
Allie has the brains but her ex stole her work and took all the credit. She wants revenge and rightly so. Except, Hudson is the brawny and pretty curveball thrown her way. He's an actor with his own issues. They are opposites but they are kind of sweet together.

I didn't read "The Space Between Us" before picking up the eARC copy of Love Signals; however, while the previous story was referenced, it didn't impact the plot one way or another. The story was cute and easy to read, and the classic star fell in love with a commoner rom-com. I appreciated the MMC's struggle with dyslexia and how that played out in the story as well. Definitely a worthy message that it's nothing to be ashamed of. I'm not entirely sure if the AI development is realistic, but it was cool to see the story about how AI could be used to interpret space events and sounds. If you like the True Love Series by Camilla Isley, this book reminds me of The Love Algorithm! Thanks, NetGalley, for this eARC. 3.5 stars

I would like to thank netgalley and Indigo Group for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Another enjoyable STEMinist rom com.

Allie Cammareri is determined to defeat her ex-partner, the man who stole her research before dumping her. She is determined to finish the big project, the same as that he is working on, and in doing so will finally feel vindicated. Yet, when her boss announces she’s being pulled off the project to mentor People’s Sexiest Man, Hudson Finch, she is determined to let him get in the way of her work. Yet, when she must work with him and then finds her stranded with him in a secluded mountain cabin, her feelings for Hudson turn into something she never could have predicted.
I enjoyed seeing the different perspectives of Hudson and Allie, how they see themselves and each other. Whilst their relationship is pretty quick to blossom, it was comforting to see how this also grew with time and had to face some significant challenges. The families of both Allie and Hudson also gave an added dimension, and I particularly loved the boisterous nature of Allie’s Italian family and their gatherings. An enjoyable read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

this is my first Melanie Summers book and I loved it! I loved the storyline - a famous actor and a NASA researcher. it was honestly the perfect opposites attract and had me rooting for them from the very beginning! I would definitely recommend this one and can’t wait for it to officially come out!
👩🏻🔬opposites attract
👩🏻🔬actor/astronomer
👩🏻🔬forced proximity
👩🏻🔬only one bed

I absolutely adored this book.qe have Hudson the movie star who has been the funny leading man and now has to reinvent himself by playing a more serious role as an SETI astronomer. And Allie who is an SETI astronomer on the edge of an incredible scientific discovery who now has to be shadowed by this movie star. I love the representation for women in STEM and how difficult it is for them to be given for their work and the shame around learning disabilities. The representation was done really well and I love how the growth that both characters had throughout the book. Their love story was really special and sweet as well.

Love Signals is as adorable as the first book in the Love Struck series (although could be read as a standalone). It tells the story of SETI astronomer Allie, who’s on the brink of a major scientific breakthrough but has been assigned to cater to tutoring and touring Hollywood star Hudson around their facility in preparation for an upcoming film. So much for her annoyance that helping Hudson would take a huge chunk of her time from her work, they eventually fall in love despite being opposites and have found each other very easy to talk to.
Firstly, I would like to express my utmost admiration for Hudson. He’s head over heels in love with Allie and isn’t hesitant nor ashamed to grovel big time. He was even willing to face her entire family, who are very expressive Italians, in order to win Allie back during their brief break up. I also want to applaud Allie’s brilliance and intelligence, as well as her support for Hudson especially when she found out about his dyslexia. She made him feel safe and at ease after telling her about it after hiding it from everyone for a long time.
I feel like I have spoiled a lot already, but are we having a novel about Hudson’s brother? He’s the absolute sweetest and has been selfless in helping him with his dyslexia for so many years!
Anyway, pick this one up for the sweetest celebrity/STEM romance novel that will surely make you swoon!

This book reminded me of Julie James "Just the sexist Man Alive" but you replace a lawyer for a radio astronomer. With the story line of an actor shadowing a professional for a role they are preparing for and the two falling for each other. Which if that appeals to you, you'll like this book. There were things I liked about this book and some things I didn't.
Things I liked:
Melanie Summers know how to write good characters because Chad and Allie's brother-in-law were awful, and I hated them. Every time they popped up, I wanted to throw something at them. Hudson on the other hand was caring and witty. The perfect contrast. I also really like how "smooth" Hudson's character felt but deep down he was hiding a big insecurity.
The jokes kept me laughing. Like when Hudson admits he broke his grandmother's gravy boat and lied about it. Allie assumes it was when he was a child. Hudson admits it was only two years ago. The man's 39!
I also like how the science aspect was not overwhelming. I only remember a few times where were given a longer paragraph of space terms and anything you needed to know was explained. Like Pulsars or a cosmic microwave or how "Frank" worked. So I could still enjoy the romance with a little science thrown in.
What I didn't like:
The Instagram "reels" every few chapters. If it had been once to show the kind of fans Hudson had, then fine. But it happened quite often and didn't really tell us anything we didn't know or wouldn't find out in the next chapter. It was strange to read the description of a reel.
The other thing I didn't like was the use of the "I have to protect my love interest from me by distancing myself". And I just hate this trope. It just really gums up the works when one character pulls away and the other is thinking they no longer care. When they always do.
BE ADVISED: This book mentions spiders quite a few times and there is a scene with one running around. I am scared of spiders. I was still able to read the book fine. But a warning would of be nice. But I didn't have a spider nightmare after I read it. So that's a win.
.

This was an ok book. I had a love hate relationship with it. I liked certain parts and wanted to throw my kindle at other parts and then I was laughing until I cried. It definitely could have done without the "Instagram reel" but at least some of the parts are funny.

Super cute and fun read! Melanie Summers never misses. Some parts were a little dense to get through but the romance was spot on with great banter and call-backs.

Melanie Summers has done it again! I always fall deep into her books, and this one was no exception.
All Allie wants is revenge on her ex, but at the most inconvenient time, she is tasked with babysitting Hudson who is a celebrity!
I really enjoyed both of the characters, and it was a nice break from all the “villain” MMCs I have been reading. Hudson is more of a golden retriever boyfriend.
This book is perfect for all those who LOVE the idea of a celebrity falling for an everyday girl. I thought it was just oh so cute!
Thank you, NetGalley and Indigo Group, for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Love Signals by Melanie Summers
Rating: 4.5/5 stars
Love Signals* by Melanie Summers is a hilarious and heartwarming romantic comedy that effortlessly blends the charm of an opposites-attract trope with the thrill of a revenge storyline. Summers, an Amazon All-Star, delivers a story filled with witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and laugh-out-loud moments that make this book an absolute delight to read.
Overview:
Allie Cammareri has been waiting twelve years to exact her revenge on the ex who stole her research and then dumped her. She’s finally on the brink of defeating him in a high-stakes race to complete a major project. However, her plans are derailed when her boss assigns her to mentor Hollywood’s hottest actor, Hudson Finch, who’s preparing for a new movie role. Allie is initially infuriated by the distraction, but as she spends more time with Hudson, the lines between professional obligations and personal feelings start to blur.
Characters:
Allie is a fiercely determined and relatable protagonist whose journey is both compelling and amusing. Her single-minded focus on revenge and her struggle to navigate her unexpected feelings for Hudson create a dynamic and engaging storyline. Hudson Finch, the quintessential sexy and charming A-lister, is more than just a pretty face. His character has depth, and his interactions with Allie are both endearing and electric.
Plot and Tropes:
Summers masterfully utilizes popular romantic comedy tropes such as "opposites attract," "only one bed," and "revenge" to craft a story that feels fresh and exciting. The plot is well-paced, with plenty of humorous and heartfelt moments. The scenes where Allie and Hudson are forced to share close quarters, including a memorable night in a secluded mountain cabin, are particularly delightful and brimming with chemistry.
Writing Style:
Summers' writing is witty, engaging, and perfectly suited for this genre. The dialogue is sharp and often laugh-out-loud funny, while the descriptive passages bring the characters and settings vividly to life. The balance between humor and romance is spot-on, making it easy to get swept up in Allie and Hudson’s evolving relationship.
*Love Signals* is a thoroughly enjoyable read that will leave you smiling from start to finish. Melanie Summers has crafted a romantic comedy that not only entertains but also tugs at the heartstrings. Fans of rom-coms will adore Allie and Hudson’s story, with its perfect mix of humor, romance, and a dash of revenge. This book is perfect for anyone looking for a lighthearted and captivating escape.
Highly recommended for rom-com enthusiasts and anyone in need of a good laugh and a swoon-worthy romance. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this delightful book for review.

I liked the majority of the book but the final part, I have to admit, took a star from my rating. The book was good, the characters were hilarious and romantic and the writing as always was very good. Hudson was a major green flag, that man was perfection and he didn't even see it. I wish I had an Hudson, the way he was with Allie and how good and genuine person he was in general. I liked Allie too, she was a woman in a men's field and she was holding herself beautifully. My problem was when the conflict happened and she compared Hudson with her ex boyfriend, which was beyong unfair, and wouldn't let him talk and explain. She took things way too far. He did a bad thing, that's a fact but she went overboard and made the situation so much worse. Still, it was a good book and I liked it
