My Thoughts: I will say this, the cover art for this book is stunning. Ok now, I wasn't a huge fan of this book. It took me so long to get through it because I found it to be extremely slow paced and I almost got to the point where I stopped reading it but I kept going. I kind of wish I didn't finish it because I wasn't happy with the way the book ended. The story is beautiful yes but I just felt it dragged on a bit longer than it should have but that is just my opinion. World War II stories are also a huge hit and miss with me because I feel like the subject is written about to much. Hey I gave it a chance and I had hoped for great things.

If you love World War II novels set in Europe, you won't want to miss this one. If you think you've had enough of World War II novels, you might want to give it a shot anyway, because this one has its own particular charm and a plot with some impressive originality.

All The Light We Cannot See was one of the most hyped-up books when it was released in 2014 and even won a Pulitzer Prize. Sadly, I didn't see it. I tried desperately but I just couldn't get into it. It felt pretentious and had an Oscar (or in this case Pulitzer) Bait vibe to it.

Despite their grandiose storylines none of the characters stood out to me, and I had to look through the synopsis to recall the main character's names (Marie-Laure and Werner in case you were wondering).

I may be in the minority with this one but I feel that All the Light We Cannot See missed the mark.

I believe I read "All the Light We Cannot See" over two years ago and it has stuck with me. Marie-Laure is an unforgettable character Werner's experience was haunting. I haven't forgotten him and probably never will.
