Wedding Dashers is a lighthearted romantic comedy that offers plenty of charm but doesn’t quite hit the sweet spot. The premise—a group of unlikely friends banding together as wedding crashing experts—promises fun and chaos, and much of the story delivers on that delightful setup. You'll be swept up in the fast-paced planning mishaps, witty banter, and heartfelt toasts.
The characters are likable, especially the protagonist, who balances a sharp sense of humor with moments of genuine vulnerability. Secondary characters add warmth and humor, from the eccentric bridesmaid to the scandal-seeking social media influencer. However, the emotional stakes sometimes feel shallow. Major conflicts or romantic tensions resolve a bit too neatly, and the narrative relies heavily on rom‑com clichés—think meet‑cute sparks and predictable misunderstandings.
Still, Wedding Dashers is an easy, enjoyable read—perfect for a weekend by the pool or a relaxed evening.

I hate doing this because getting approved for an ARC from Berkeley is like a literal white whale, but I DNF'd this book at about 10% in. The FMC was already annoying TF out of me - if your boyfriend of 8 years would rather take a 3 month break than propose to you (and you desperately want a proposal), then love, he's just not that into you - and the MMC gave off sleaze ball vibes from the minute he entered the story as he tried to take advantage of the FMC's lack of a place to stay to get laid. When I peeked at some other reviews trying to decide whether to keep reading, I learned that he keeps giving sleaze ball by not telling the FMC that he is married (separated but that still counts, and I am divorced myself). So yeah, I am okay giving up on this one.
Thank you to Berkeley and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of this book. These opinions are my own.

Thank you to @berkley for the eARC and thank you to @prhaudio for the gifted audiobook!
This book was SO much fun. I fell in love with the writing near instantly, the story was expertly paced and the meet cute was hysterical. I adore when characters have rich backstories and are fully realized - Ada & Jack fit the bill! From the various gorgeous settings (filled with funny hijinks, as any impromptu road trip should be) to the sizzling connection between Ada & Jack, this romance captured my heart. I’m so excited to read whatever Heather McBreen writes next. this book is great for any romance and travel lover!

I loved the premise of "Wedding Dashers" and it didn't disappoint in that regard, but I just did not like the main character. The dynamic between Ada and Jack felt very wishy-washy, especially in the beginning the sudden hatred seemed so forced, like the author just wanted a hate-to-love situation. That Ada suddenly hated him when he assumed they were going to hook up, as if that wasn't obvious? Would have been if it was forced or something but that was just the beginning of my problems with her, flip flopping between trying to get along and thinking he's the worst person alive until she's fallen for him.
Both Ada and Jack were going through rough patches, and it was their big obstacle for not being together, which was fine. I didn't mind reading about them healing, it was just the relationship itself. Still an enjoyable romcom.

This was a fun forced proximity road trip romance across England to Ireland. I loved Ada and Jack’s journey- both the crazy cross-country trip with a deadline and their own personal growth journey. I definitely laughed and was rooting for both of them, especially Ada.
Thanks to the publisher for sharing a copy with me. All opinions are my own.

You know the kind of books that you don’t have to read because as your eyes scan the pages you’re playing the movie in your head? THIS is that book. The perfect summer rom com. I was smiling and laughing and crying through the entire book. If this doesn’t get turned into a movie I will be so disappointed. It was absolutely perfect and I know I’ll be thinking about it for a while. Easily one of my favorites of the year.!

I loved this one! I don’t normally like travel books but this one was so funny and I just loved it! Really interested in what this author can do next!

I loved this book, the best of rom coms, two broken people meet, seems like the best kind of fate. The character development was the perfect pace; I had me laughing out loud with all the mishaps.
Ada's little sister is getting married which should be a happy time, but they have been a yearlong fight. To make matters worse the wedding is in Ireland, she is broke so she uses the last of her money for last minute airline ticket. So, when her connecting flight is canceled and she is stuck in London. She decides to drown her sorrow at the bar and tell another stranded stranger everything. Till she realizes he is also heading to the same wedding; he is not just a guest but the best man. As they travel together the everything seems to go wrong almost seems like a distraction to what is really going on with them. Will they make it to the wedding, and will they face the attraction they both feel for each other?
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for a copy of this book for my honest review.

I absolutely adored this book! It’s the perfect blend of heart, humor, and just the right amount of chaos. Ada and Jack, our main characters, are both a little troubled, a little messy, and completely lovable. Normally, I’m not a fan of the whole “will they/won’t they” dynamic, but this one totally worked for me—I was rooting for them the whole way through.
The setup is delightfully chaotic: Ada’s younger sister is getting married in Ireland, but the two haven’t spoken in a year. Broke and barely holding it together, Ada manages to snag a budget airline ticket—only for her connecting flight to be canceled, stranding her in London. Enter Jack, the best man of the groom, and cue a string of wild, funny, and unexpected mishaps as they scramble to make it to the wedding.
This book doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s exactly what makes it such a joy. It’s silly in the best way, full of unpredictable twists, awkward moments, and just the right touch of romance. A fun, feel-good read that’s perfect for spring—or any time you need a smile.

Ada is a tattoo artist on a break from her boyfriend of 8 years (his choice) and had just closed her tattoo shop. She is in charge of bringing her sister's wedding veil across an ocean to Ireland in time for the wedding. Due to the timing of her breakup and her shop closing, she is low on funds and traveling by herself. After she lands in London, her next flight to Ireland is cancelled and she has to spend a night at a hotel. But it turns out that the free hotel night voucher is expired. Ada spends some time panicking and trying to ignore her sister's texts until she meets Jack in the lobby.
After some flirting back and forth and connecting about both of them going to a wedding that neither are excited about, Jack invites her up to his room. However, after going up to said room, Ada realizes that he was looking for a one-night stand. When they both get the same texts from the airline, they realize that Jack is the best man and Ada is the maid of honor for the wedding. Ada changes her mind on spending the night, but Jack makes Ada an offer: travel together platonically to the same wedding, with Jack paying for the travel because he can afford it.
Thus they end up traveling by taxi, train, etc. and encountering one problem after another all while getting to know each other. Both Jack and Ada had some emotional baggage that kind of got in the way of the story but ultimately, figured it out. Their attraction to each other simmered for most of the book. I loved the banter between the two. I really enjoyed the ending - it was more realistic than I anticipated, and I thought it wrapped the book up nicely.
Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley for this eARC. While a bit chaotic, Wedding Dashers is a great romcom.

There's something about the chaos of international travel and destination weddings that is always ripe for humor and falling in love. Ada and Jack have a ticking clock to make it to a wedding. Romantic sparks and hilarity ensue, as they run into every roadblock they can imagine.

I felt like I was reading a romcom circa 2010! It had all the vibes of my most beloved romcom movies (most notably Leap Year and Just My Luck).
Ada and Jack had amazing banter! I was kicking my feet, laughing out loud, and grinning the whole time. The shenanigans they got themselves into were just believable enough, I think the author did a great job balancing how much could possibly go wrong with reality. Their romantic tension was perfectly paced and I really found the ending refreshing. I liked that not every problem was solved within their short timeframe and that the book extended the story past the present.
I felt like the spice was just enough for this book, I was worried there would be too much but again, the author wrote that perfectly.
I can't wait to read more by this author!

I loved this romance book! It was emotional and funny. I love a race to get somewhere story. I really loved Jack and Ada in spite of all their flaws. I really, really loved the ending too.

Wow, what a fantastic debut romcom! Full of adventure, chemistry, and humor, this slow burn romance was so enjoyable! Can’t wait to read more from this author!

Looking for a charming, entertaining, and surprising story with heart? WEDDING DASHERS has all that and more! It follows a lovely lady named Ada who is on her way to her sister's wedding in Ireland. Well, it turns out her flight is cancelled and the hotel won't accept her room coupon. Since she is in debt with little in her coffers, she is at a loss as to what to do next. She meets a deliciously, dashing man named Jack who offers to buy her a burger and a beer. She learns Jack isn't a stranger, but the best man at her sister's wedding! She discovers, to her chagrin, that they have opposing views on romance, relationships and also the couple who are getting married. The chaos and fun begins with Jack and Ada traveling together to get to the wedding on time. There's hiccups galore and plenty of arguments. It's a madcap race to get to Ireland before the wedding nuptials even begin. Will Ada and Jack make it there before the I do's? Or do they take a detour to romanceville instead?
I absolutely loved WEDDING DASHERS! This story delivers many twists and turns, is fast-paced, smart-alecky, risky and ridiculously ravishing. What a surprising story line that through me for a loop at times while I was laughing at the absurdity of it all! Jack and Ada quarrel and tease each other, with sparks of romance flying about. They have equal amounts of hostility towards each other as well as romance. Will they manage to get to the wedding in one piece without pulling each other's hair out? Defnitely a refreshing rom-com for romance lovers! WEDDING DASHERS is a feel good romance of epic proportions!
Thanks to NetGalley and Penquin Publishing for providing me with an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a cute, close proximity, not quite enemies to lovers.
When Jack rescues Ada, who is stranded with zero funds in London, they have no idea that they already know of each other. In fact, they’re heading to the same wedding in Ireland - she’s the maid of honor and sister to the bride, he’s the best man and friend of the groom. They both agree the marriage is a bad idea, but for varying reasons, plus Ada doesn’t trust Jack, whose playboy reputation has proceeded him.
When they find themselves thrown together by chance and have to overcome a series of obstacles to get to the wedding in time, they find the carefully built walls begin to come down. Could everyone be wrong about Jack? And is Ada’s hope of getting back together with her long term boyfriend really what she wants?

I found this to be such a delightful read! It was funny, quirky, yet also touching on some deeper issues. The characters were likable as well, and the story was just to die for! Definitely a book I can recommend!

I loved this book! While Ada and Jack's relationship felt a bit insta-lovey at first, they're chemistry quickly won me over. I literally laughed out loud at certain points. This was a great, character-driven read that I can't wait to recommend to patrons!

I wouldn’t have guessed this was a debut! I thought the writing flowed nicely and I enjoyed Ada and Jack and their slow burn. Allison was annoying as hell though

first of all, my review is not inflated due to the author being a swiftie. However, I LOVED the fun little Taylor Swift references that she included and I can't wait for her next book to find more TS references.
This was such a good book - one of my favorite tropes is "traveling adventures to bring two people together" (is this a real trope?) I love the FMC/MMC chemistry and their banter.
I also thought that the character development and plot development was superb - the synopsis drew me in, the writing style kept me reading, and everything about the story kept me happily reading and devouring the book.
I seriously can't wait for Heather's next book.
Huge thank you to Netgalley and Berkley for the e-arc in exchange of my honest review.
