This was such a fun, hilarious, and cute read!
In this book, we meet Ada as she is having a string of bad luck. She’s just lost her business, her long term boyfriend asked to go on a break, and her sister is marrying her boyfriend of 6 months in another country. Ada’s bad luck continues on the way to the wedding and she gets stranded in London. She meets a handsome stranger who is also stranded and finds out it’s the best man, Jack. Someone her sister warned her has a reputation as a ladies man. Together, they make their way to her sister’s wedding through hilarious twists and turns as Ada’s string of bad luck continues. Despite her best efforts, she finds herself drawing closer to Jack along the way.
I really loved Ada and Jack in this book. I rooted for both of them along the way as we learn more about their backstories and why they are the way they are. At first Ada seems like your typical “hot mess” heroine who needs a man to save her. But as she goes along her journey she really learns how to find her independence and to do what she wants, not just what’s expected of her. Jack seems like the typical ladies man until we learn his backstory and he opens up more.
I don’t want to give too many spoilers, but I really love how the romance between the two leads progressed in this story. I like that the characters acknowledged that they needed to work on themselves. Too often in romance it seems like when the leads fall in love, all their problems disappear. I’m happy that things were more realistically portrayed in this book.
Overall this was a fun and funny read. I recommend it to anyone that’s a fan of a laugh out loud, fun, slow-burn romance! I’m looking forward to what Heather McBreen writes next. Solid 4 stars.

I got to be honest with you. I truly didn’t know what I was expecting this romance book to be, so imagine my surprise when I was cracking up or crying emotionally. It took me by surprise how much I love this book. It was a truly amazing emotional romance book that everyone needs to read. It’s going to catch you by surprise, trust me.
I won’t say much because I don’t want to spoil you with the experience of reading this in blind. I will say that you should expect nonstop sassy banter that will make you laugh nonstop. I kept laughing out of nowhere. It made the read so much lighter and faster. But then, you will experience emotions that have you crying or thinking more about yourself. Both of these characters experience something that’s so relatable. It takes time to work through your situation and yourself. It takes hard work to truly think about what you want and what you want for yourself in the future.

A story of hope, heart, and self-discovery, Wedding Dashers is a fun read that you absolutely MUST add to your 2025 TBR. Heather McBreen has an incredibly clear voice in her writing that provides all the things that make up your favorite romcom: witty, well-matched main characters, hilarity that will have you smiling from ear to ear constantly, and chemistry so palpable that it floats off the pages. Jack and Ada were two travelers lost in one way or another with depth that really makes you love the journey they go through. They experienced so many mishaps in their travels yet found a way to grow and roll with the punches every time. There’s a certain form of beauty and a sense of vulnerability in meeting characters who don’t have it all figured out, clearly on the path to trying to relearn themselves, and that's exactly what we get here. Jack and Ada were REAL, and I loved every minute of getting to know them. Heather captured time in a bottle with her stunning debut, and has 1000% solidified a spot on the list of authors I'll read anything from.

I love when I'm reading a book by a debut author and it's so good that I wish there was a backlist that I could go back and binge! That was my experience when I finished Wedding Dashers. Heather drew me right in and crafted a beautiful story that was so much more than just a typical rom-com.
The main characters of this book, Ada and Jack, are both suffering from a lot of emotional trauma, and come with a lot of baggage. They're strangers who run into each other in a hotel lobby after their flights are canceled on their way to a wedding, and they almost have a one night stand. Then they discover that they're going to the same wedding, he as the best man and she the maid of honor. What ensues is 4 days of hysterical travel mishaps, bickering, witty banter and sparkling chemistry.
While this book definitely made me laugh, the story went so much deeper than simple humor. Both characters learned a lot about themselves while on their trip, and Heather wrote their characterization in such a beautiful way that I truly felt their emotions as I was reading. There was a classic conflict about 2/3 of the way through, but both characters handled it in a mature way, with communication and adult conversations, which was very refreshing to read! The ending was the perfect wrap-up to this beautiful, heartwarming and hilarious debut novel! I can't wait to see what Heather McBreen comes up with next!
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Berkley Romance for the advanced digital copy of this book! All opinions are my own.

Wow! I have never read anything by Heather McBreen before, but I will definitely be on the lookout for more from her. This book was incredible. At first, Ada was the typical, unaware, older sister with all kinds of issues, but she grew so much over the five days with Jake. I loved how everything wasn't perfect in this book. Some things were messy, like a normal "meet cute." Thank you for an incredible read. I am ordering the book now.

This was REALLY good. If you like enemies to lovers, sarcastic banter, and actual personal growth - this is the book for you!! A man who goes to therapy? Sign me up.
I loved the take on having to travel together and being able to see each of the main characters grow, even though they were scared. I was nervous at first, because it seemed like after just 4 days we were supposed to be rooting for the main characters who would be deeply in love (even though they barely know each other). But that’s not how the story went at all. They grow to like each other and see each other’s flaws, and then they walk away (like adults) because they know that they each need time to heal from what has recently happened to them. THEN they end up together, a year later.
This was amazing. I don’t usually give 5 stars, but I can’t think of a single thing I would change. OUTSTANDING!

I loved this book SO SO SO MUCH. jack and ada were so angsty and raw but so delightful and happy together. these two were meant for each other no doubt. heather is going to do amazing things.

4.75 stars!!
genuinely enjoyed this book SO much!! if you like the movie leap year, have a special love for traveling and can't say no to a player who really has the biggest heart, then you HAVE to read this book !!! heather mcbreen had me hooked from the opening page. so many hilarious moments and the chaos of bad luck in traveling but then jack and ada would have a moment 👀 all the essentials of a perfect romcom!!!!! the banter and the flirting between these two is HOT but also hilarious. i laughed a lot! & i also teared up because DANG ada girl i get it, and jack, i love you ❤️ they both deserve the biggest hugs.
such a fantastic romcom but heather also did an incredible job writing ada's personal growth and struggles in a way that i think we all can relate to. so many moments felt like such a gut punch because man that was ME. watching her learn to expect love from others and to hold people to the same standards she holds herself. watching her believe in herself again and go after her dreams. tears!! everyone will finish this book feeling a little inspired. something about jack... i truly was in love from the beginning. WOO WHAT A MAN!!!!
thank you so much Berkley Romance & Netgalley for the eARC! this is my honest review.

I really wanted to like this book but it just wasn’t for me. I liked Jack and Ada but they both got very tiring very quickly with all their travel things, which I understand was the point of the book but it just started to annoy me. I liked it a lot more when they got to the wedding and started dealing with their feelings. And I did like the epilogue/ending a lot.

A road trip between a relationship girlie and a cynic who hates relationships, what could go wrong?
I loved this debut. It gave me classic rom com vibes but add in emotional depth and so much good tension. The MCs’ conversations were pure and honest. I found myself wanting to be friends with them irl.
They each had so much emotional baggage following them around as they “dashed” to an Irish wedding thru London and Scotland. Their character arcs were beautiful and relatable. And HOT 🥵

Hands down, this might be the most fun I've had with a book all year. I just knew from the first chapter that it was going to deliverrrr and oh man did it ever.
₊⊹⁀➴ We follow our FMC, Ada as she makes her way to Belfast for her younger sister's wedding. While at a layover in London, Ada discovers her flight has been canceled with the earliest flight out being the next morning. Tired, jet lagged, stressed and broke. Ada has no idea what she's going to do for the night. Where she's going to sleep or eat.
She accidently walks off with a strangers suitcase and as they get to talking and switching their cases back. They discover they have a whole lot in common. Both are off to a wedding that they don't really want to be a part of. Both have a canceled flight. After a couple of drinks, Jack (The stranger) invites Ada up to his room.
Ada takes this as an act of kindness, a place to crash for the evening given her terrible predicament. But Jack had other ideas - that of a little hookup.
Come to find out, Jack is the best man and on his way to the same wedding that Ada is desperately trying to get to. They make a pact to put the 'airport hotel mishap' behind them and travel together in order to make it to Belfast for the wedding.
₊⊹⁀➴ Besties. This book was SO MUCH FUN. I loved every single thing about it. When I tell you that I don't normally laugh in books, no joke. I'm usually over here with a resting bitch face, an occasional smile sure lol. But this story had me cackling and cracking up with bursts of laughter that I couldn't even help.
The characters, both Ada and Jack are so hilarious. They're smart and sarcastic, witty and easy going. I swear, Heather McBreen knocked it out of the part with this one.
Not only are the characters funny, but they're both the greenest flags ever. Compassionate, and understanding. Willing to communicate. I loved that not only did the author deliver on all the belly laughs, but she touched on some pretty emotional topics too and the story got very tender and heartwarming at times. Honestly such a good ride of emotions reading this one. It's the perfect feel good book.
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ I'm blown away that this was a debut. I'm over here foaming at the mouth for McBreen's next book and this one hasn't even published yet!
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Highly recommend! I think readers who enjoy Lynn Painter and Katherine Center will enjoy this. Less corny/cheesiness, but similar vibes imo.
Thanks so much to Berkley Publishing for bringing this little gem to my attention and providing me with a gifted advanced digital copy. All thoughts are my own. - Looks like this is a debut rom-com novel, for fans of Jessica Joyce, Christina Lauren, and Sarah Adler. So excited to dive in!

This debut contemporary romance was an incredibly fun, perfectly paced read that was the true definition of a rom-com!
Ada is on her way to her sister’s destination wedding, and all the things that could possibly go wrong do. After her flight is canceled, she meets a cute stranger named Jack who turns out to be the best man in the wedding, and the duo decide to make the journey to Scotland together. Their trip is anything but smooth, leaving me laughing out loud multiple times.
There is plenty of humor here, from the delightful banter to the special blanket Ada wakes up under at an inn along the way. But there are also deep emotional moments, as Ada faces her fears about being unworthy and alone at the end of a long term relationship. Jack is going through his own romantic difficulties and comes off as cynical as a man could possibly be, but the chemistry and companionship between the two still shines through. Their relationship grows naturally as they spend hours upon hours together, and it all felt authentic, even the dreaded third act breakup. This was a mature relationship with partners who have communication skills 👏🏻
The pacing was on point, the premise was fun, the side characters were entertaining, and I was left shocked that this was a debut considering just how good it was! Heather McBreen is definitely an author to keep an eye on, and I’ll be excited to read more from her in the future.
Thank you so much to Berkley for the gifted ARC; all opinions are my own.

Wedding Dashers by Heather McBreen is a great contemporary romance that is a great debut.
Jack and Ada are both coming to this wedding with problems of their own. Throw in an element of attraction, miscommunication, a “planes, trains, and automobiles” -ish journey vibe, and hijinks will go down.
I definitely enjoyed this one and look forward to more from this author.
4.5/5 stars

Wedding Dashers by Heather McBreen is a delightful, whirlwind romance that had me hooked from the very first page! The story follows two unlikely allies who find themselves caught up in the chaos of a wedding gone wrong. With misunderstandings, unexpected chemistry, and a dash of humor, McBreen delivers a charming tale that’s equal parts fun and heartwarming.
The characters are incredibly relatable, and their banter is full of wit and playfulness, making their journey from strangers to something more entirely captivating. The setting of a wedding in disarray provides the perfect backdrop for the chaos, laughter, and ultimately sweet moments that unfold. It’s a perfect read for anyone who loves a romance filled with comedic mishaps and swoon-worthy moments.
A huge thank you to NetGalley for the ARC—Wedding Dashers was an absolute joy to read, and I can’t wait to see what Heather McBreen writes next!

4.25 ⭐️
Omg this romcom was such a breath of fresh air! With the crazy month we've had I needed something light hearted to read and this was absolutely the perfect read i needed this week. The fact this is heathers debut novel as well?! I can't wait to read more from her in the future!
Thank you to the author for the arc!!

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for a review.
I'm not sure how I came across this one (maybe a marketing email?) but it look fun, breezy, and cute. And for the most part, it was. I'm not the hugest fan of insta-love stories, especially when the characters are in somewhat committed relationships <spoiler>(somewhat, as there divorces and breaking up with partners happening while these characters were figuring out what they were doing). </spoiler> Despite that, I really like the antics they got into as they <em>Plane, Train, and Automobiles</em> their way across the United Kingdom to go to a destination wedding that neither really wanted to attend. It was fairly delightful, so 3 1/2 stars. I'd definitely read something from this author again.

Heather McBreen's Wedding Dashers is a riotously fun romantic adventure that delivers laughs, heartfelt moments, and a swoon-worthy story! When Ada's flight connection is canceled en route to her sister's wedding in Ireland, she finds herself stranded in London with a handsome stranger. After sharing a hilarious heart-to-heart at the airport bar, she's horrified to learn that this attractive man is none other than Jack—the infamous best man she's been dreading meeting.
From there, Ada and Jack's journey is a nonstop ride of mishaps, close calls, and undeniable chemistry. With every missed train and a flat tire, their shared adventures bring them closer, revealing Jack's hidden depths and Ada's vulnerability beneath her sarcasm. Jack is the perfect blend of charming and unexpectedly thoughtful, making it impossible not to root for him.
It's hard to believe Wedding Dashers is McBreen's debut! She has an incredible knack for creating characters you can't help but root for and perfectly balances humor and heartfelt moments. Her writing sparkles with warmth and emotional depth, taking readers through the Irish countryside with two unforgettable characters. This is an absolute five-star read—a feel-good romance packed with laugh-out-loud moments and genuine emotion. If you love a story where the journey to love is just as fun as the destination, this one's a must-add to your TBR! Bravo, Heather—I can't wait to see what you write next!

What a fun debut!
After a case of mistaken identity and an almost one-night stand, two stranded wedding guests have to find their way to their final destination together. Ada is headed to her younger sister's wedding, and despite their strained relationship (and her ultra-budget ticket), is determined to make it there.
While bemoaning her plight to a handsome stranger at a hotel bar, Ada and said stranger -- who turns out to be the infamous best man in the wedding -- reluctantly agree to plane-train-automobile it to the wedding together. But of course, it's not a straight course and tempers and attractions flare. YUM.
I've never been a huge fan of the one-night-stand trope, but I enjoyed Ada and Jack's characters, and I LOVE a road trip journey. It was fun to watch the two work through their journey, both personally and as a duo. A quick, funny, steamy read.
Thank you to Netgalley and Heather for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest, unbiased review! WEDDING DASHERS is out 1/28/25!

Wedding Dashers was the cute and banter-filled romantic detour I needed.
Ada is on her way to her little sister's wedding in Ireland when everything goes wrong. Her connecting flight to Belfast is cancelled, she's stranded in London, in a hotel that won't accept her voucher, her bank account is bottomed out and encroaching single digits, and she's just broken up with her boyfriend of eight years. What's a girl to do in such a hopeless scenario?
As it turns out, sharing her woe with a handsome stranger in a hotel bar may be the perfect solution. She'll never see him again, so what does she have to lose? However, things get complicated after their almost-hookup falls apart and they realize they're attending the same wedding. For, not only is Jack the best man, and a supposed womanizer to boot, but he may be her only hope of getting to her sister's wedding on time. So whether it's from missed trains to flat tires, or from locked bathrooms to ripped wedding veils, Ada and Jack are stuck in a mad dash to reach Ireland together. With attraction mounting between them, will their feelings be able to go the distance or are they mere a pit stop along the way?
A fantastic debut! I love detour romcoms, where the main pairing must travel together in forced proximity and encounter obstacles along the way, but what I liked about this one in particular is Ada and Jack were both coming out of their own relationships, trying to pick up the pieces. There was a post-breakup chaos about this - from Ada's purple hair, to Jack's cynical views on marriage - that made it both fun and unexpectedly moving. The story was as much about self-exploration as it was about attraction, romance, and the right timing. Absolutely delightful!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC in exchange for my review.
