I can't believe this is a debut!!! Seriously, how was this so good? You will soon tire of me talking about this book because I won't be able to stop. It's one of the best romances I have read in some time. Fans of Jessica Joyce will love this one.
Wedding Dashers is a beautiful blend of banter, shenanigans, humor, emotion, past trauma, and mental health advocacy. I loved Ada and Jack. I felt their chemistry from the first moment they were on the page together. They were funny, sweet, and sexy. Both characters were well-developed, with depth and fleshed-out backstories. I love that they spoke to each other like adults.
The side characters were great and added to the story. I loved Ada and her sister, Allison.
The plot was fun and gave me Planes, Trains, and Automobiles vibes. It was a clever plot device to force the characters into forced interaction and fun mischief.
I highly recommend you pick this up when it releases in January 2025.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I need everyone to please please please put this book on your TBRs, get it pre-ordered, add to Goodreads, whatever you need to do to read it when it comes out in January. I had the best time with this debut from Heather McBreen. The pacing in this was perfect, the characters were deep and nuanced, the banter was perfect, it was funny and there were hijinks and I could not put it down (and, if it’s any indication, I was SICK sick sick in bed when I read this and I still refused to rest just so I could read more - make good choices, I always say).
Ada (sidenote: I will read any book with Ada as a main character, in case anyone is wondering) and Jack have a meet cute when they’re both stranded in London overnight. That meet-cute turns into a case of mistaken identity that turns into dislike to lovers that turns into forced proximity, and travel mishaps, and only one bed, and tension, and overcoming relationship trauma and a whole bunch of cute moments over pizza.
I’m going to post a full review closer to pub date but I needed to have this on the feed now because I can’t stop thinking about them! Heather - what a DEBUT!

27-year-old Ada has had some bad luck recently, she lost her job and boyfriend, lives on her parents' couch and now her flight to Ireland has been postponed to the next morning. She should be in Ireland for her sister's wedding. Plus the hotel voucher she got from the airline is expired. As she tries to figure out what to do next, a handsome man Jack offers to get her a drink. Over drinks, she complains about her sister's rushed wedding and the womanizing best man. Jack is also going to a wedding and complains about the judgmental bridge and how their marriage won't last. After mixed signals lead to an awkward encounter, they both realize their flights have been canceled and they're attending the same wedding. Jack is the womanizing best man Ada's sister has complained about! Ada and Jack spend the next few days traveling to Ireland by train, ferry, and car. As they get to know each other, they start to have feelings for each other but neither is at a good point in their life for a new relationship. What will happen between Ada and Jack?

Wedding Dashers combines all of my favorite elements to create a truly fantastic romantic comedy. Heather McBreen packs each page with laugh out loud moments, beautiful prose, and tight banter which opens the reader's heart to the characters' pining, angst, and personal growth. Jack and Ada have electric chemistry that crackles on the surface over a deep well of emotion, and their HEA is as well won and triumphant as it is delightful and so. much. fun. I loved traveling across Europe with them, getting lost with them, and falling in love with them. Only Wedding Dashers can make getting a flat tire such a delight! Readers of Jessica Joyce, Christina Lauren, and Sarah Adler, take note: This is your new fave.

What an interesting and entertaining book! Refreshing honesty between the main characters and so much packed into a few days. A terrific debut novel! Characters were complex, always divulging new information as their time together continued. So many funny and sometimes embarrassing moments made Ada and Jack more appealing.
Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the opportunity to read and review Wedding Dashers by Heather McBreen.

I loved this story!! A story filled with travel mishaps, amazing banter, hilarious moments and such a fun meet-cute romcom. I was so captivated by the two main characters and their adventure. As I was reading I literally felt like I was right there with the descriptive settings and locations. We first met Ada as she is trying to get to her sister’s wedding in Ireland. Her connecting flight has been canceled. This is when she meets Jack and starts their adventure. I loved every bit of this adventure!

This book was a really fun, adventure rom-com with so many travel hiccups as two strangers try to make it to the same wedding after their flight is cancelled. Ada and Jake are hilarious MCs with great banter (I’m a sucker for witty banter) and a delicious chemistry that just kept building. I enjoyed the backstories and the character depth that I didn’t expect after the first couple chapters. I lived in Glasgow for a couple years so also enjoyed the setting taking place throughout the UK. If you’re a fan of forced proximity and one bed, look no further. A solid 3.5 stars, would recommend for a friend.. A truly amazing debut novel that really does keep you invested.

Jack and Ada meet unexpectedly when their flights to a wedding are cancelled. In their plight to get to the weddings they meet various obstacles and romance is ignited despite turbulence in their respective personal lives.
A fast paced story with lots of character development and romance.

Wedding Dashers by Heather McBreen was a 5 star read for me! From the witty banter to the sweetest moments, I just loved it all. There was wedding drama, travel nightmares, and of course the unexpected romance. The slow burn was just right, with the right amount of tension to keep you reading without dragging the story on. I recommend.

"Wedding Dashers" is an absolute gem of a debut romance novel that strikes the perfect balance between humor and gravitas. The protagonists, Ada and Jack, are complete strangers en route to the same wedding, only to find themselves on an unexpected journey together. Their shared connection to the bride and groom lays the groundwork for their budding relationship. As they navigate through travel mishaps and amusing escapades, they begin to develop feelings for one another. Yet, both characters are portrayed with depth, facing their own personal challenges that they must overcome. The mature dialogues and choices they make enrich the authenticity of their romance. And while I won't divulge the conclusion, let's just say the ending is as satisfying as they come.

Why oh why did life get in the way of me being able to finish this absolute gem of a romcom? I would have finished it in a day or two had work and kids not been so dang needy.
In a meet cute to end all meet cutes Ada and Jack encounter one another in the lobby of a London hotel, both stranded after their respective flights have been cancelled. After some very heavy flirting, they head upstairs for a little more action.
It’s about to be on when they come to the shocking realization that they were headed to the same wedding…to be the MOH and best man, and both of them had told their people that they were rushing into marriage. Awkward. 😬
What comes next is a whirlwind of travel mishaps, witty banter and so much chemistry that there’s going to be an explosion. 💥 From getting locked in a public bathroom to missed trains to baby making blankets and flat tires - this book delivers everything I look for in a romcom.

I loved Wedding Dashers! What a fantastic debut romance, perfectly funny and serious at the same time. Ada and Jack are strangers on the way to the same wedding and end up traveling together. Because they have the bride and groom in common, there is already a bit of history there as they get to know each other. Travel delays and hijinks push along the plot, while the mcs start to fall for each other. However, they each have some work to do on their individual personal lives. Adult conversations and decisions add to the appeal of their love story. No spoilers, but I loved the ending! All the stars!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Wedding Dashers was an impressive debut! I loved the premise + it absolutely delivered. It was sweet, swoony and made me laugh out loud!

I am very picky about the romantic comedy I read. I tend to stay with big names, and this would have flewn under my radar. But I was sent a review copy, and I was so glad I read it. Heather McBreen is now on my watch list.
I love the characters in Wedding Dashers, Ada and Jack obviously. But her sister Allison, and fiance Collin really had me concerned. And of course MOM was so funny!
I really like that Jack and Ada had adult conversations and made adult decisions. But still somehow ended up having very bad luck!
Thank you Berkeley and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Wedding drama, travel nightmares, and unexpected romance - this book has it all!!
Ada’s life is a mess. Her little sister is getting married in Ireland, and what should be a joyous occasion is overshadowed by tension between the siblings. To make matters worse, Ada is broke, barely managing to scrape together enough money for a budget airline ticket.
Just when she thinks things can’t get any worse, her connecting flight gets canceled, leaving her stranded in London with no way to reach the wedding.
She vents to a handsome stranger at a bar about the wedding, her sister’s rushed engagement, and the notorious best man. The stranger turns out to be none other than Jack, the best man himself.
Ada and Jack are forced to team up to make it to make it in time for the wedding.
Are you kidding me?! How was this her debut novel? This book is right up there with all of my favorite romance novels. It had such a happy ending, and the journey to get there was so fun!
I especially loved how both characters grew by the end, but Jack’s development stood out to me the most!
The slow burn was perfect—just the right amount of tension to keep me hooked without dragging things out.
Everything about this book was a 5 star read, from the witty banter to the sweet moments!
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good slow-burn and is looking for one of their new favorite romance novels!
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wedding Dashers is a hilarious romantic comedy with all the vibes of Leap Year (one of my favorites)!
When Ada’s flight gets cancelled, she’s forced to travel to Ireland with the snarky, womanizing best man, Jack. He doesn’t believe in marriage, thinking people are destined to grow apart. She fears she wasted 8 years on her ex, who convinced her to give up her own opportunities for him. And did I mention Jack and Ada hate each other?
They kick off their road trip on bad footing, and the hijinks along the way are laugh-out-loud funny. But with the flat tires and hotel mishaps come a lot of sweet conversations and angsty romance. I love the way Ada grew over the course of the novel and discovered what she really wanted.

I loved Wedding Dashers! This was such a fun and cute book to read while traveling. I really liked how layered the characters were. I adored Jack's character and how the author portrayed him. It was refreshing to see a male lead that's not perfect and gets the help he needs. I thought McBreen did a great job balancing his character. The sewing and zebra mask scenes with him were funny! I thought Ada was a charming and hilarious female lead. I liked that she wore her heart on her sleeve. Her character and relationship arcs were well done. I liked how confident Ada became as the story progressed. Ada and Jack's relationship was EVERYTHING. Their banter and chemistry was executed perfectly. I liked how McBreen used forced proximity to develop their relationship. The one bed scenes were written nicely. I also thought the setting was immersive and the ending was wrapped up smoothly. Overall, this was an adorable and fantastic read! I didn't want the book to end. Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC.

The description of this book had me clicking the download button before I finished reading. The first chapter with its mistaken identity and almost-one-night stand kick off a mad-cap road trip from London to Belfast, had me kicking my feet. Ada and Jack's chemistry in-between their arguments was palpable. Wedding Dashers was giving rom com from the word go.
The only quibble I have with the book is its ending. Two people can fall in love and the timing can go wrong, but to go no contact for a year seems overly dramatic. Overall, a great debut novel! I look forward to reading more by this novelist!

A RELENTLESSLY funny, delicious, tension-filled debut! I fell so in love with WEDDING DASHERS. It was precisely my kind of deadpan, sharp humor, and I was laughing out loud a disturbing amount. Heather has crafted such a strong narrative voice in Ada, full of humor, but also so much tenderness and heart, with gorgeously drawn subplots about sisterhood and not settling in life. Ada and Jack’s love story is a slow, *aching* burn, but the narrative is perfectly paced, and I flew through the pages. And when they finally get together…let’s just say it’s well worth the wait! Ooof. Fans of Sarah Adler, Jessica Joyce, and Abby Jimenez will go absolutely feral over this charming, sexy road trip romance, and I literally cannot even wait for Heather’s next book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Two people meet while they are both at weird, messy times in their lives. They instantly connect and bond as they make their way to a wedding, in which they are the maid of honor and best man. Their journey, interrupted by cancelled flights, expired room vouchers, missed trains, and more, is a comedy of errors that ultimately leads them into each others' arms.
This book is comedic, while also featuring poignant moments. Its ending is quite hopeful. I personally appreciate the acknowledgement that sometimes two people meet at the wrong time - and that there's nothing wrong with taking some time to figure yourself out before bringing someone else into your life.
