This book was such a light for me during these dark times. The writer helped me so much by writing this book, and I’m so grateful!

While I liked the premise going into the story, a bridesmaid and a groomsman traveling together with many unlucky moments leading them to spend a lot more time together than either of them bargained for.
I thought their first meeting was pretty comical, especially since we realized who they were before they did. They had a lot of miscommunications and some fiery chemistry but I had a hard time connecting to either of them. I like watching them grow closer and start to let down their walls but it never felt like they were truly falling for each other until we reached the end. Which I actually liked quite a bit. While this book didn't 100% work for me I did like the writing and I would definitely read more books by this author in the future

I wasn’t sure about The Wedding Dashers when I first heard about it. I’m not a huge fan of the road trip trope, but once I read the story description I knew it was worth a shot. I’m so glad I took a chance on it as it was so good!
Ada and Jack meet in the most awkward of circumstances, when Jack hand Ada her dropped tampon. And then they end of in the most cringey circumstances when they later realize they are both traveling to the same wedding … and that they are already not fans of one another. If you can make it past this awkward part of the story, the rest of the story is so wonderfully charming that it is totally worth suffering through Ava and Jack’s awkward beginnings.

Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC!
What a fun debut! This book is giving quintessential 2000s rom-com vibes. Different moments and scenes reminded me of several of my favorites! I’m marking this review with spoilers in case this reveals too much for anyone.
Leap year (traveling together. Only one bed. Arguing. Messy relationship past)
Proposal (baby making blanket ☠️)
Chasing Liberty (pretending to be married for a room & traveling Europe)
27 dresses (complicated sister relationship)
The Wedding Dashers would’ve fit right in the mix with these types of movies. Great banter, one unlucky moment after the next, main characters I like and who are both messy and carrying around a lot of baggage. Overall a fun read! High 3.75 for me!
Pub date is 1/28!

3.5 stars - This whole book was comedy of errors road trip mixed with more emotional topics that I didn’t totally see coming. Initially, I was pretty hesitant on liking this one - Jack, the mmc, was unlikeable at the beginning and I really disliked some of the things he said and how to spoke to Ada. Additionally, Ada was a bit unnecessarily confrontational and I was worried I wouldn’t like either of them.
Thankfully, towards the middle to end of the book we finally get more depth from all our characters and I started to understand the motivation of everyone more. Overall, I did end up enjoying myself and I thought the individual journeys Jack and Ada took were beautiful and I ended up liking their relationship a lot. Would recommend this one but it does take a bit to get into it.
Thank you to Berkley Romance for the eARC - all thoughts and opinions are my own.

4.5 ⭐️ rounded up! A huge thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this fun little rom com in exchange for an honest review!
This debut was all the makings of a fun fast paced romance. Reading the synopsis I knew it was going to be a must read for me but I was never expecting to love it as much as I did!
A little meet cute mixed with forced proximity, a hopeful one night stand and a pact. Add a couple of dashes of spice and I was hooked!
This one comes out on my birthday 1/28/25 so it was totally meant to be!
I highly recommend checking this one out!!

This was a cute cozy romcom in the vein of leap year meets planes trains and automobiles. At first I super disliked Ada and how obnoxious she was but her redemption arc made up for it. I loved that at the end they were happy going their separate ways to focus on themselves. It’s nice having a romcom that promotes self healing

Thank you so much to Berkley Romance for the free copy of this book & advance copy!
This book will be out January 28th, 2025.
I had heard early praise for this book and how excellent it was and I can attest that this WAS SUCH A GREAT TIME!
I know Heather is a debut author but my gosh did she nail the banter on her first try! As any romance reader knows, banter is so important to the storyline and to the romance itself. I just love the dynamic between Ada and Jack. Ada is coming off being in a 8 year relationship with a man who walked over her and I know she had such high hopes for reconciliation.
I know people are iffy on the whole insta love connection. I wouldn't say this is instalove but maybe more instalust at least on Jack's end. It's hard to imagine how much you truly get to know someone in a span of 4 days but for the sake of a romance book - it works! They had a connection right off the back and it wasn't even a sexual one (at first). I love the way that Heather allowed their character to grow in the span of those 4 days. Ada was not the same person at the start of her quest to get to Belfast and even at the end of the wedding. Jack was just the right person at the right time for Ada. He felt something for her right away and over the course of their trip was able to open up.
I really liked how Heather didn't give us the usual HEA because it definitely would have felt like a happy for now. And I say this vaguely to try not to spoil anything, but she gave them that time to grow and to be a better person. They each had things that they needed to work through and find themselves.
There were so many times I was kicking my feet while reading. I was just so gone for Jack and empathic to his story. I also felt for Ada because of knowing how hard it is to sustain a relationship that isn't just done. The resisting that they both did was so strong. One of my favorite moments was when they were hiding during the bachelor/bachelorette party and then overheard his friends talking.
Also THERE WAS KARAOKE!!!!! You know I'm a sucker for a karaoke moment!
If you are a fan of insta-lust, forced proximity, adventure through Europe - give this one a try!

The Wedding Dashers by Heather McBreen is a fun romance. Ada’s sister is getting married and having a destination wedding. But getting there is truly a problem with a cancelled flight, an invalid hotel voucher, and she dreads meeting the best-man. While stuck in London she meets Jack and realizes he is the best man, they are both stranded in London, and they need to find a way to Ireland.
This was a lovely book for me. Watching Ada and Jack get to know each other made me laugh, cry and appreciate their journey. I loved the character transformation and how the author was kindly realistic in the importance of being ready for a relationship. I enjoyed the themes of redemption, found family, and allowing others to become who they were meant to be. Jack and Ada’s travel to Ireland had me laughing out loud.
I enjoyed Wedding Dashers with its travel adventure, reminders that you can always grow and change, and the its redemptive and family themes. I recommend and look forward to reading Heather McBreen’s next book.
I was given a copy by the publisher and not required to write a positive review.

Ada is down on her luck. She's in a fight with her sister, whose wedding she's traveling across the world to. She's broke, her flight was cancelled, she's on a break with her boyfriend of 8 years... All of which surely the handsome man at the hotel bar wants to hear about. Turns out, Jack's traveling to his best friend's wedding - her sister's fiance, who Ada definitely insulted in her rant to Jack. After the awkwardness fades, they decide they'd better travel together. They hit several bumps in the road - missed trains, flat tires, questionable B&Bs. But they also make memories in their short time together and learn a lot about one another, pitfalls and all. When the wedding is over and they go their separate ways, will that have been enough?
💭 I loved this romcom adventure! Ada was so relatable - a down on her luck millennial, nothing seeming to go her way a bit afraid of the unknown. Her dreams have been shattered and she's just kind of lost, having spent much of her life caring for others. This was also so clever and funny, both characters being quick witted and jumping in with all the best TV show and movies references - I was constantly cracking up! I loved how they didn't let the inconveniences get in their way - they still found time for fun and to experience a new country. While basically strangers, fate seemed to bring them together. I won't spoil the ending, but will say I appreciated that they took the time to grow and become their best selves. This book reminded me of the movie Leap Year and was an absolute joy ride, filled with traveling mishaps and top notch banter, and characters you'll absolutely root for.

The set up seemed like a fun rom-com: Sisters are fighting and one needs to get to the destination wedding, but has no money to do so. After missing her connecting flight she is stuck in London, but has the veil that needs to be at the wedding in Ireland. As luck would have it she runs into Jack, who happens to be the best man at the wedding. They embark on a road trip to get to the wedding.
I wanted this to be more fun than it was. Jack was obnoxiously arrogant for a good chunk of the book. Ada behaved as though she had never spoken to other people in her life. Then dumb obstacles kept popping up to get in their way. I was expecting some roadblocks because it's a road trip romantic comedy, but so many felt unnecessary. And then all their past trauma and angst kept getting in the way. Overall, this just was not as light and fluffy as I wanted it to be. Though it was not my cup of tea I know there is an audience out there for this book, which is why I still gave it four stars. Just writing a novel and getting it published is worth at least two stars in my opinion! Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC!

Wedding Dashers was chalked full of emotion and a read for any hopeless romantic. Ada is on her way to her sister's wedding at a big castle in Ireland when she gets stranded in London where she meets a handsome man in a hotel lobby. They get to talking, things seem like they might go somewhere, and there is a hiccup that leads to the hopes they will never see each other again.... but too bad, the man in the lobby is Jack Houghton, the best man 🤭 and to top it off they end up traveling all over the UK to make it to the wedding.

Ada and Jack both come with their share of challenges and personal issues that they unravel together on their trip to the wedding. I felt very connected to Ada and her story, especially because she is on "a break"with her 8 year long boyfriend and isn't sure what the future looks like, and unless you are the lucky one, I think we've all been there with a long term relationship: accepting the love we think we deserve. She's also the older sister who is always responsible and that I feel strongly with as well. She's a very likeable fmc. 🥹

It's not a dual POV book, but you can't help but fall in love with Jack by the end of the book, with lots of laughs and soul searching in between. You won't go wrong adding this book to your TBR for 2025.

Wedding Dashers was a fun debut novel. I enjoyed reading about Jack and Ada’s adventures and mishaps trying to get from London to Belfast with everything that could go wrong going wrong. Jack and Ada had great chemistry! My favorite parts of the book was actually the frequent subtle movie references from Say Anything to Legally Blonde to Princess Diaries.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This was truly a comedy of errors, while still managing to balance levity and serious issues facing the main characters. I liked the growth that the main characters exhibited and how the FMC learned to recognize and allow growth in others. I also appreciated the timeline because some things can’t be rushed. I think timing was a strong theme woven throughout

This book was a nice surprise to start the year with! I was expecting to enjoy it based on the premise, but it ended up exceeding my expectations.
The book has emotional elements, but I had so much fun reading it.
We're following Jack and Ada, who unbeknownst to them, are the best man and the maid of honor in their best friend and sister's destination wedding in Ireland. And they find themselves having to travel together while trying not to catch feeling for each other.
The characters are so flashed out. They're compassionate, easy to love and root for, good at communication. It was refreshing to read.
I also love books that have travelling elements like this one did.
AHHH i truly love this and I highly recommend it!

Ada’s little sister Allison is getting married and Ada needs to get to Belfast from Seattle with Allison’s veil; unfortunately Ada’s plane from London to Belfast is cancelled and due to a mix up she has no place to sleep. Jack, the best man (a fact yet unknown to Ada) is at the same hotel where Ava tried to get a room and offers Ada a drink and a bed to sleep in (or um…not to sleep). Ada refuses his advances but the failed one night stand turns into a three day adventure of planes, trains, and automobiles trying to get to the wedding in time. Ada has been warned that Jack is a major player but it’s not stopping her feelings for him as they get to know each other better on the journey.
I had seen this one all over Bookstagram and was curious about it, and I am so glad I requested it because it was a delight. The slow burn of the characters’ relationship and the growth of Ada during the book made this a such an enjoyable read that I could not put it down. I enjoyed that the story didn’t take the exact arc that I thought it would but it worked for the story and made the ending that much better. This was funny and cute and since this is a debut I will just have to wait for the author to write her next rom com (or whatever she chooses to write).

Thank you to Berkley Pub and NetGalley for this ARC to review

WEDDING DASHERS is a road trip romance perfect for anyone who loves banter, sexual tension and a lot of chaos and shenanigans. It's hard to believe this is Heather McBreen's debut, because it's such an incredible book that will have you crying one second and laughing the next. I absolutely loved Ada and Jack and their dynamic and I would read 1000 more pages of them bickering and flirting.

Wedding Dashers is a stunning debut from author Heather McBreen and honestly one of the funniest yet most emotional books I've read in a while! Ada and Jack had the most delicious dynamic and their chemistry was absolutely insane. I can't wait to see what McBreen does next! Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC!

Think Planes, Trains and Automobiles but set in Ireland and on their way to a wedding and you’ve got this story. There’s loads of setbacks for our MC’s and the past drama from relationships amps up the angst. The banter between our MC, Jack and Ada was absolutely fab! And the situations they often found themselves in did so much to give depth to both their characters as well as move the narrative along. It explores trust issues, learning to love yourself, inner conflict while being filled with chemistry and romance.
Ada and Jack are on their way to Ada’s sisters wedding. They miss their flight and have to figure out a way to get to the wedding as she is the MOH and he is the best man. Ada is on a break from her long term relationship and Jack is going through his own personal issues. The time spent with Jack and the stuff they gave while traveling force Ada to take a second look at her relationship and what she wants for her future, all while dealing with the sizzling chemistry that she’s trying to deny with Jack.
If you enjoy travel, forced proximity and loads of wit, you’ll enjoy this story.
Thanks to Berkley and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

Thank you to the publisher for the free book - out January 28!
The maid of honor and best man of a wedding meet under mistaken identity circumstances, almost have a one night stand, and proceed to travel across the UK together.
This one was cute! I loved the concept, and appreciated that the book also also dealt with some really big/emotional themes. It had a big emphasis on finding yourself and healing *before* getting into a serious relationship, which was an interesting direction for a rom com, and a pretty unique plot structure as a result, while still hitting some fun rom-com tropes (only one bed will never not land for me).
Overall, a super promising debut and I’m excited to see what this author does next.
