I decided to DNF the book around 30%, then went to see what happened at the end.
While I loved the author’s writing style, I did not feel a connection to any of the characters or plot. It felt like chapters of fluff and useless information that I did not feel drawn in to read to find out the ending. I don’t think this book was for me, but could see this being a very popular.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy!
This book…. this book… It truly made me rethink every other book I’ve ever read. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read and such a stunning and unforgettable read. It took me a while to read but in the best way. I knew I needed to savor every moment of it. This story was so gut wrenching and heart breaking. The many lives of these characters were so different and filled with so much pain but also love. The writing was so poetic and powerful and it’s hard to believe someone can write this eloquently. I was so invested in these characters and their tragic love story. Destined to be in love in every life but also destined to kill each other in every lifetime. I can’t stop thinking about this book and it’s one that’s going to stick with me for a long time. I cannot recommend this one enough. I am forever in awe by this book.

Evelyn is reborn over and over again. Two things are the same in each of their lives: 1. They will always find Arden and 2. They will always die before their 18th birthday.
This book was so cool! Here's what I liked:
The past lives: The way this book is set up, it. gives you a really cool look at Evelyn and Arden's past lives. The chapters bounce back and forth between the present storyline and various past lives. Each one gives you a little bit more and unravels more of their complicated relationships.
The present day: I loved the storyline with Evelyn and her sister. This gives the conflict of the story so much more depth. There's a reason Evelyn needs to live just a little bit longer. Something that she's pushing for.
The concept: The general concept of this book was so cool. It really has Addie LaRue vibes. The story has layers and the characters attract you to them. This is not one to miss!
All in all, a really cool book with a fantasy plot that is engaging.

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this ARC, and they had me at reincarnation, and “for readers of the invisible life of addie larue “ (one of my favorite books of all time) this story was very well crafted and I was so immersed in each of their lifetimes , I loved the supernatural aspect of this and was shocked by the twist , this is new and fresh and an angle I haven’t read before in the way this was written. Absolutely 5 stars , required reading. This book is amazing. I can’t wait to collect special editions of this book

thank you so much to Wednesday Books and Laura Stevens for this ARC via Netgalley!!
wow. this book was absolutely stunning and kept me fully engaged. to start off the premise drew me in — two souls who are endlessly stuck in a cycle of loving and killing each other. then i loved the way that we seamlessly switched from present to past in order to see bits and pieces of all the lives they lived and give even more depth to their relationship. and then finally the twists i didn’t see coming that i found so intriguing and the ending that left me speechless🙂↕️
i loved the way poetry was intertwined in this book and just the writing overall flowed so beautifully. i have so many quotes from this that i can’t wait to share once it’s published🥹 i highly recommend checking this one out when it comes out march 4th, 2025!!!

"A star-crossed lovers romance that spans a millennia, for fans of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, They Both Die at the End and One Day
They've loved each other in every lifetime. They've killed each other in every one."
I was really hoping this would be a 4-5 star read for me. The premise--two souls riencarnated after thousands of years, only to kill one another in each life, and their journey to break this cycle--was a very promising synopsis! All of my reader friends know I dislike when there is time travel/time jumps in any book I read, but I was really hoping that this book would change my opinion on that. I will say, I didn't mind it as much in this book, as it served to show the relationship between both main characters through each life cycle (vs childhood to present day in most contemporary romances I read). I loved how in each life cycle, the main characters were riencarnated as different genders, showing that true love comes from the soul, and not a persons body/appearance. The plot twist at the end was also something I was not expecting at all, which kept me engaged!
I think I would have enjoyed this book more if there had been less time jumps, or more character development in each one. By the end of the book, I wanted to see how it ended, but I didn't really feel attatched to either of the two main characters. I would have loved the plot twist to be fleshed out more. It happened so close to the end of the book, and was resolved too quickly in my opinion.
Overall, I think it was a solid 3✨ read for me! If you enjoy YA fantasy, I think you should give this one a shot!

When a book is compared to Addie LaRue, it’s an immediate read for me but unfortunately this one did fall just a tad short. However, this book is still really good! The writing is beautiful, the characters are to die for, and I certainly did love the story! It just fell short in regards to the way Addie LaRue made me feel. I will and still recommend this book to those who do like Addie LaRue but maybe not to those who are obsessed with Addie LaRue, like me.
Thank you, NetGalley and publisher, for this early copy in return of an honest review!

Oh, I loved this one! It's beautifully structured, intensely strange, deeply reflective, propulsive, and ambitious. I wasn't sure how incredibly on board I was for the first half, maybe--curious and willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, but aware that it felt quite young (which is fine! this is a YA novel! I am not a teenager!), and some of the prose/dialogue was a bit clunky--but I was completely in by the end. I'm sure if I think about any element of the plot a little bit too long or too hard, I will find something to pick apart, but the net effect was greater than the sum of its parts for me. I've really admired Steven's previous work, and this does feel like her actively upping her game on every level, and I have so much respect and admiration. By the time the end hit, I was crying on the overground, so I guess I was all in. I'm so excited for her, and to see what she does next (I have Silvercloak on deck, so I don't have to wait long!!)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our Infinite Fates is an absolute masterpiece—hauntingly beautiful, wildly imaginative, and deeply thought-provoking. Laura Steven weaves a spellbinding tale of fate, choice, and the ripple effects of our decisions, creating a story that lingers in your mind long after the final page.
The writing is stunning, with prose that feels both lyrical and raw. The characters are complex and compelling, each navigating a world that constantly challenges their beliefs and desires. The twists are unpredictable yet feel inevitable, pulling you deeper into the story with every revelation.
What truly sets this book apart is its emotional depth. It makes you question destiny, free will, and the “what-ifs” that shape our lives. Every moment is crafted with care, making it impossible not to be fully immersed.
I can’t recommend Our Infinite Fates enough. If you love books that challenge you, move you, and leave you breathless, this is a must-read. Laura Steven has outdone herself, and I already know this will be one of my top reads of the year!

Thanks to Wednesday Books for the gifted ARC!
Fantasy reading level: Beginner
Representation: Queer
"Battlefields and asylums, olive groves and caravels, the whole world a backdrop for our doomed love, for our infinite fates."
You want to read this for... the amazing prose and soul mate love story that will leave you replaying scenes in your head days later.
About the book: Evelyn and Arden are reincarnated time and again throughout the centures... but they never make it past the age of eighteen. Each lifetime, Arden finds Evelyn and murders her before adulthood begins, but she can't deny the pull she feels for him anyway. The problem is - she can't remember why she's being hunted or why they're stuck in this cycle.
My review: When V. E. Schwab had this on her list of best books she read in 2024, I knew it was going to be a total win. I highlighted approximately one bazillion quotes because GOODNESS this prose just pulled on my heartstrings and created the deepest sense of longing. I love that Evelyn and Arden come back in mulitple ways in multiple bodies for so many lifetimes, and I adored the present timeline that was consistent throughout the book. The constant "I love you, and I have loved you, and I will love you" was just so sincere between these two souls and they're my favorite. Even if they do kill each other every time. I also LOVE a good villain and the narrative of hero versus villain in this story is utter perfection. If you're into people being "the very fabric" of each other and desperately in love despite circumstances, this one's for you.

*****UNPOPULAR OPINION TIME***
Like many reviewers on this book, I agree the premise was what lead me to want to request an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was super excited to read this UNTIL I started reading this. I can follow complicated and multiple POVs or timelines, but it was super confusing when the main characters jumped back and forth between past versions of existence. Just when I thought the pace and plot would pick up, there was one disappointment after another with this book....
My other issue is that the premise said this was a love story but the characters end up killing each other, and one does not know why. This sounded interesting in the premise BUT this idea did not read out how I thought it would (and not in a good way). SMH
Lastly, I really did not feel like the two main characters had that much passion or chemistry. It wwas lackluster af probably because I was annoyed reading this already.
I really wanted to love this but it fell flat for me. Cannot recommend.

I was really excited for this one and blew through the arc in a matter of days, and while I did enjoy it, I found myself wanting more. I was really into this concept, the whole "finding each other in every life" thing being one of my favorite tropes and I love to see different iterations of it. However, the execution of it in this one, for me at least, was kind of lacking.
We follow Evelyn and Arden both in the past and in present time, getting to see a little bit of each past life and their relationship with one another. I really enjoyed that aspect. It was interesting to see how their dynamic altered slightly in every life, but no matter what, they always loved each other and always killed each other. But I felt like we didn't get more than that? I was really missing the how in this situation. How did they fall in love? How did they overcome all these obstacles together? How did they find the strength to keep going? Because of that, I really wasn't too invested in the characters or in their love story as much as I wanted to be. We were told how much they loved each other but I really didn't see or feel it.
I did like what we saw of Evelyn and her connection with others in the present life. Her family and friends were really sweet and I did feel why this was the life Evelyn wanted to stay in. I do wish we could have built on it more, especially with Evelyn's sister. The plot twist towards the end did definitely through me for a loop and I found myself kind of stumbling for a bit going, "Wait, what?" I thought that was unique and original. I did also enjoy the writing style. It was elegant but still easily digestible. I found myself thinking it almost felt reminiscent to Divine Rivals in a way.
Overall, I do think that this is a good, solid read. I think the characters and story could definitely connect with readers, unfortunately it just didn't do that for me. I would still recommend it to others especially if you love a tragic romance, and I hope others enjoy it.

Oh my god this was insane. I was so excited to receive this arc, and devoured the entire thing in like a day. I just had loml by Taylor Swift on loop the entire time I was reading this. I’m so obsessed with the idea of soulmates and losing the love of your life, so I felt super connected with this book. I was fascinated by all the difference lives Evelyn and Arden lived. Some of them absolutely broke my heart; I loved how no matter where they were or what gender they were, they were in love. I don’t want to spoil too much, but this was a great read and anyone interested should definitely give it a read!

sadly this didn't grip me. it was slow paced and i was confused most of the time. i was genuinely excited about the premise of the story but it didn't really do it for me. there wasn't passion and i didn't get that spark or feeling of how intense the love was between them.

I was intrigued by the concept of Our Infinite Fates brought, where two soulmates find eachother in life after life, where one must kill the other before their 18th birthday, and the cycle starts over where they are reincarnated into a new life, new culture, new country. This book follows dual timelines, the present, where Evelyn does not want to die before she can give her bone marrow to her sister in need, and then the past timelines, where each chapter is a different life that Evelyn and Arden had lived, going back a millennium.
I did enjoy this book, and these characters with the journey they went through, but it did take me awhile to get through it. I think the past chapters didn't have enough discovery of why this was happening to her and would have been cool if it built off eachother. Ultimately the conclusion was good. It did catch me off guard to see Taylor Swift mention in a fantasy book, but I guess that was relevant to the present time! If you enjoyed The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, I think you would definitely enjoy this book as it is similar.
Thank you NetGalley and St.Martin's Press for an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

The only thing worse than a boring badly written book is one that has a great premise and unfortunately all of that is true of this book. What a premise that sounds so good! But completely falls flat and does not deliver. I was bored and annoyed from the beginning. I hoped it would get better but it never did. These two are supposed to be completely in love but there is zero reason to believe it as we never see it. I was curious if the sister would live and started skipping through to find out which was the only part of the story I was at all interested in. There are a lot of flashbacks to their various lives together. It is supposed to be a love story that transcends gender so one character is always a They and they swap bodies throughout time. Definitely not what I signed up for but again the bigger problem was there was no reason to care. There was no grand love to anchor this premise.

This is certainly a rollercoaster ride with reveals scattered throughout the book, right up to the end.
Thanks to the author and publisher for providing me with an ARC via NetGalley for an honest review.
The two leads are stuck in this eternal death loop, they can only be killed by each other and seemingly must be before they turn eighteen. The main time for the narrative is modern day Wales, which, I have to say, was just so personally fun to read. At this time, Evelyn is a big sister with a mom and life she loves and she does not want Arden, her hunter, to take her away. Evelyn only remembers parts of her thousand years of existence and she doesn’t know why Arden finds and kills her. But in this life, she is determined to evade him and live past eighteen.
The book is certainly a very emotional story, with Evelyn reflecting on why she continues to love even knowing she will lose each family after such a short time. And there are snippets from past lives scattered throughout the main narrative. The snippets both pull at the reader’s heartstrings and reveal pieces of this puzzle of Evelyn and Arden’s bond.
I liked the reflections on lives, choosing love again and again, and the historical periods represented. Evelyn and Arden take on a lot of different configurations over the years, born into a wide variety of bodies and places. We get snippets from Northern Song to 1800s America to Siberia and many more. It was interesting to see the brief representations of these times, since they were not the focus, rather Evelyn and Arden were.
However, the big reveal of the why of it all and the final confrontation was a little underwhelming for me. I wish there was more time spent on it or at least the mechanics of it. But this was a sweet, sentimental read with touches of history throughout that I enjoyed.

I'm not typically an emotional reader, but this book BROKE me.
Occasionally I'll have a tear or two for a book, but it's not often that it really guts me. I'm not kidding when I say I cried SEVEN times and two of those were ugly sobbing.
This book had such an intriguing plot where Evelyn and Arden are in a vicious cycle of killing each other by their 18th birthday and Evelyn does not understand why. He has all his memories of his past lives and she only has fragments. So she's constantly trying to discover the reason behind it all while she has only limited moments with Arden.
I loved that they weren't always the same male and female in each life. Sometimes Evelyn was born male and Arden female, sometimes they were both female or both male. It really showed you that their love transcended bodies and really focused on the soul of the other person. It was beautiful.
It also had so many deep thoughts and heavy moments about making sure to spend the most time and focus on even the inconsequential things with family and loved ones because one day, you won't have those.
A few moments took me entirely by surprise and had the ending really squeezing my heart.
Since the characters never quite reach their 18th birthday, this is a YA book and as such, does not have any spice. It does have one open door scene, but uses flowery phrasing and non explicit words to describe their coupling.
Read if you love:
-Star crossed lovers
-Mystery and intrigue
-Deep thoughts about family and life
Thank you to St Martin's Press on Netgalley for the eARC. My thoughts are entirely my own.

✨i received this as a digital arc✨
“i love you, and i have loved you, and i will love you”
a surprisingly beautiful story about soulmates and the love they’ve shared over thousands years and lifetimes. there’s something so wholesome about a love so familiar and recognizable that you feel an undeniable tether to them in the next life again and again. a story for a true hopeless romantic. i appreciated the way the story explored so many types of love -heterosexual, homosexual, platonic, love shared between siblings, the love of a parent, etc. because love really does take on so many different forms.
i think i would have rated it higher if the resolution of the story had been done different. what would i have done differently? i haven’t a clue. but i feel like it just didn’t match the suspense building up to it and was a bit anticlimactic.
this was overall an enjoyable story that i would recommend to anyone who wants to read about love in every sense of the word.

This sounded so promising to me. The premise was unique and it’s hard to find fantasy storylines that you’ve never heard before, but unfortunately this one felt like a miss to me overall.
The idea is that this couple spends all of eternity falling in love again and then killing each other for the rest of time, and one of them doesn’t know why it happens.
In theory, this sounds so interesting. But honestly the fact that every chapter switched from them in another life to another life was just overall confusing and left me not actually caring about the main characters at all.
The reveal was neat. I will say that. That’s what made it 3 stars.
This book just wasn’t for me.
