The moment I heard the premise of this book i was intrigued: two souls bound by love across hundreds of lifetimes yet cursed to die at the others hand.

I found the writing to be poetic and romantic(especially the lost poetry written by Arden) however it was also repetitive and I struggled to believe in their love story until about 60% through due to the style in which the story was told. Where the story shined was in the glimpses of the past we were given along the way that provided the characters with a fullness that became gradually more relatable as you experience longing, love, hope, hurt and loss through their eyes. While Evelyn and Arden have vastly different views of the world and how to handle their reincarnated lives, together they show the beauty in being human and what it means to live.

The only disappointment was when in the present day. Evelyns’ inner monologue was a bit repetitive though an accurate portrayal of a teenager as she is represented and Arden was portrayed as overly stoic and gave a clinical detached view of their fates so it took longer than I would have liked for them to come together and start unraveling their history and their path forward. I will say the ending was in no way predictable and was significantly more fast paced. It left me feeling as though every pain we experience in life serves a purpose and adds to the beauty of the world around us. I found I was hopeful for their futures even though we only get the slightest hint of what that could be and are left to imagine their ends. The ambiguous conclusion opened the door to endless possibility which in a way is all our lovers wanted. The hope of a future in any capacity.

Overall it was a solid story, I enjoyed it and I will be on the lookout for future releases from Laura Steven!

Evelyn is pursued. Born into life after life, in different bodies and eras and genders, in every one, Arden finds her, and before they can turn eighteen, Arden will kill her. Unless she kills Arden first. Either way, the death of one is the death of the other. And sometimes, before the mutual murder, they fall in love…

But this time, Evelyn is desperate for answers. She can save her sister’s life: but only if she has time. And to do that, she must convince Arden to end this cycle of pursuit and longing and death.

A passionate and sweepingly romantic story, Stevens weaves the threads of her characters with a deft hand. “Fated mates” is not usually my thing in all honesty but the arc of these star crossed soulmates was beautifully done. The twist and reveal was genuinely unexpected and if anything slightly jarring, but it did bring the story together very nicely.

If you enjoy lots and lots of romantic yearning with just a hint of homicide this really is for you.

I was so excited for this book but, alas, it did not live up to my expectations. Our Infinite Fates follows Evelyn and Arden who are fated to fall in love and kill each other in every lifetime before the age of eighteen. Despite this epic sounding premise, I was ultimately not really invested in any part of the story. The book flips back and forth between their present life and their previous ones. The snapshots of their previous lives together were far too short and fleeting to really add any depth to their relationship. I was left not even understanding why they were in love in the first place. Even the present timeline was quite bland. I didn’t feel the urgency for Evelyn to save her sister. I feel like the book was just telling us everything rather than showing us.

On a sentence level there were some very beautiful, poetic lines but that's about it. Such an intriguing premise but a dull or rather underdeveloped execution. It took a long time for us to be told why they had to kill each other in the first place and I honestly thought the reveal was underwhelming after all that waiting. I’m really sad that I didn’t enjoy this book. I think it truly had an amazing idea for a plot but it ultimately failed to deliver.

This book releases on March 4th, 2025.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I requested this ARC thinking it was an Adult Fantasy, not realizing it was YA. I'm so glad I requested and got approved though, because this was an absolute gem!

This story really did reminded me of Addie LaRue, except I love and preferred this one so much more. This was a compelling love story that beautifully captured how love can transcend death, and even continue to exist in so many lifetimes. Yes, there was pain and plenty suffering and so many heartbreaks and betrayals, but the resilient love Arden and Evelyn had for each other withstood it all. They truly were twin flames.

Even though the glimpses we had into the lovers' past lives were quite brief, I still felt like I was right there with them throughout history with the vivid imagery and the little details the author crafted for us of their day-to-day life. Laura really encapsulated what it would feel like to live through so many reincarnations, and of the loneliness one would bear from remembering all the loved ones that have been lost over time.

There was a part near the end that I thought was a bit cheesy, but not enough to deter me from giving this book 5 stars. The ending did left me feeling sad and conflicted, but still hopeful. I was thoroughly impressed with this debut and can't wait to see what else Laura will write in the future!

I love this book! It was everything I wanted it to be. I love how we got their love throughout the years, the overall concept was great and it had my mind wondering and my heart aching.

Evelyn is almost eighteen. Again. They’ve lived countless lives in different countries and different genders, and every time, before their eighteenth birthday, Evelyn is killed by Arden, a being whose existence is somehow tied to her own. Sometimes Evelyn and Arden fall in love. Sometimes Evelyn is so angry that they kill Arden first. But this time is different and the stakes are higher– in this life, Evelyn has a baby sister suffering from leukemia, and Evelyn is a match. Evelyn needs to live long enough to be a donor so their sister can live even if Evelyn cannot.

I really enjoyed parts of the book but finished it feeling unsatisfied. The conceit of the book hinges on a mystery: why does Arden seek Evelyn to kill them each time? Arden knows. Evelyn does not; they can only remember fragments of their oldest past lives. It sets up a mystery that’s eventually revealed, but the denouement is SO rushed. I'm really grumpy because I enjoyed the rest so much-- the book was probably a five-star read for me before the last 25%.

Minor digression on plot holes too. The reasoning behind the 18th birthday is profoundly and unnecessarily silly. And while I hate to be a "well actually" sort of reader, bone marrow transplants from deceased persons are possible. I mention the latter because it seems like something that could have been addressed with a throw-away line, and both examples show the fundamental lack of foundation in the plot.

But there’s a lot to like here, and I expect many people will adore this. I especially loved how the romantic side of Evelyn and Arden’s relationship transcends gender. Evelyn’s familial bonds in their present incarnation are so sweet and realistic. And of course, that mesmerizing Kelly Chong cover for the UK edition.

As soon as I saw in the blurb that this was for the fans who have previously loved The invisible life of Addie LaRue, I immediately went into action and requested the arc... and it was good. I really liked the plot, the characters and pacing of the book. I will say tho, that if you are expecting an Addie LaRue vibes, I don't think you're gonna get it (i was a bit disappointed not gonna lie), but overall it did work out for me.

I want to thank NetGalley and the Publisher for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Our Infinite Fates.

I am giving a rating of 3.75 stars to this book.

Likes: I very much enjoyed the slow-burn romance of the two main characters. The yearning and the longing and the emotional turmoil both characters went through were very emotional and brought tears to my eyes multiple times throughout the first 60-70% of the book. I adored the poetry that Arden wrote for Evelyn. I also like the representation of multiple genders and the underlying acceptance of non-binary people. I did love that there was an open conversation about this between the main characters at one point in the book. I also loved that the main characters were the same sex in some of their lives and so there was a very good representation of the LGBTQ community. I enjoyed the character growth throughout the book. I loved Evelyn's hope and how Evelyn and Arden balanced each other out a bit.

Dislikes: I thought the ending could have been more flushed out. A lot of time was spent with Evelyn and Arden throughout much of the book, but the ending felt rushed. I wanted more description and understanding of the Underrealm, and Evelyn's backstory got just 2 or 3 pages. I felt that did a bit of a disservice to her character.

Overall: I had a good time with this book. I read it in about a day and a half and was invested in seeing what happened. The few dislikes I had did not ruin the overall story for me and I have recommended this on Fable for others if they love romance, poetry, and yearning and if they were a fan of The Invisible Life of Addie Larue. I think this book was very entertaining.

To say I devoured this book is an understatement. The concept really intrigued me when I first heard of this book, and before I started it I was worried with how it would be executed. But this was super easy to follow, even with the time jumping every few chapters.

This was a super easy read and will definitely be recommending!

This book is a dark YA fantasy romance where a pair of lovers find each other across lifetimes. It is a story of reincarnation, love, hate, and murder. They die together before their 18th birthdays in every life.

Getting to know the characters is a slow burn across lifetimes, historical ages, genders, and cultures. There is good LGBTQ+ representation as they are often born into bodies of the same gender. The reason why they are trapped in the cycle eludes our protagonist, whose memory only reaches back a few lifetimes. Their lover knows more, but won’t reveal the secrets. The protagonist also has something more to live for in the current, present day life, which also drives the story.

I gave this book four rather than five stars for a couple of rather abrupt plot points. The first is the reveal of the reason why the couple is trapped in this cycle; there were no real clues along the way and it occurred in the space of one conversation. The second was the resolution of the situation which again was quick, not foreshadowed, and somewhat convenient. I did think the strengths of the book outweighed its weaknesses. I enjoyed this book and recommend to readers who like a slow burn YA romance.

This was not my normal style of book. With that being said, I think it will be a great option for people who love this genre. I thought it was clever and interesting with a unique plot.

I just loved this book, I was truly engrossed in the story. It it written beautiful and is heart wrenching. Evelyn and Arden's story covers centuries and is moving and romantic. There is much emotion in the writing and for a YA I was vested. I loved that I was connected to the characters throughout the lifetimes. Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the chance to read this EARC I cannot wait to add a copy to my shelf.

Truth be told, I didn’t know what to expect. I tend to go into some of these stories somewhat blindly. Not paying attention to reviews. I’m absolutely glad I did. This story was FANTASTIC. From the very first chapter I was completely captivated. Although confused, from the start I wanted to know more. I was enthralled by the basis of it all.

Immediately I was consumed in the world of these two characters. The many lives they lived and the stories of their past and present selves. This book was darn near perfect. I felt all sorts of emotions throughout it all. I wa invested. The ending was so poetic, I didn’t see it coming.

Thanks so much NetGalley and SMP for the eARC.

I found this book to be interesting and intriguing enough to keep me moving through the story even though I really didn’t have any idea why the characters were having to go through this hardship together. I found the writing to be descriptive and poetic at times. This is a really great book for Young adult readers because it does get emotional and vulnerable and can show that a character can feel so many different things without there being a lot of physical/intimate contact.

These Infinite Fates is an enjoyable read with a fascinating concept and strong character development. The world-building is immersive, and there are some truly memorable moments that kept me hooked.

Despite its intriguing concept, I had a hard time getting into Our Infinite Fates. There were several things that I struggled with. The first issue I had was the pacing. The author used flashbacks to highlight Evelyn and Arden's lives together. Although the flashbacks were neat, they bogged down the story at times. There were a lot of flashback scenes. They started to feel repetitive and old over time. I could tell the author was using the flashback scenes to cement Arden and Evelyn's relationship; however, the scenes didn't give me a great sense of their relationship. I didn't like that Evelyn and Arden's origin story wasn't shared until the end of the book. As a reader, it started to get frustrating not knowing the reason for Arden's behavior. The curse was too dragged out. As a result, I lost interest in the story halfway through. Another issue I had with this story was the ending with Mother. It felt very anticlimactic. I wanted more from the Mother scene. I also wanted more from the characters. I didn't feel like I got a good sense of Evelyn and Arden's characters. They felt very surface level. I did like that their appearances and genders were different in their past lives. It took me a while to finish this book. Overall, this book was a miss for me. Thank you to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for the ARC.

This book is beautifully written, you can tell the Author put her heart into this very poetic story.
Filled with love and lose, Evelyn and Arden's story spans multiple life times and eras of a millennia.
Some parts of the story may move a bit slower than my normal preference but the feelings the writing brough out made the read worth it.

🌟🌟🌟🌟 4/5 Stars

This book was a thrilling journey through time, love, and betrayal. I really enjoyed how it transported us across different eras and places, giving the story a rich, immersive feel. The first-person perspective worked perfectly, pulling me right into Evelyn’s struggle as she faced her fate across lifetimes.

One of my favorite aspects was the dynamic between the main characters—both villains and lovers, which kept me hooked with all the tension and complexity. Their relationship felt intense and tragic in the best way.

The twist at the end definitely surprised me. It wasn’t quite where I thought the story was heading, and I’m still on the fence about how I feel about it. But overall, I loved following these characters through a thousand years of heartbreak and second chances.

If you enjoy stories with morally gray characters, a unique take on soulmates, and plenty of history-spanning drama, I’d definitely recommend this one!
