I don't think I've ever had a book eviscerate me so thoroughly as this one did. It's so good! The climax felt very fast-paced but that worked for me because I truly was reading this for the love story. It's incredible. You'll love them, and then curse them, and will never know which way your emotions are going next.

Shelfing for now at 20% - it’s very slow, and honestly they make it sound like some epic love story, but sometimes she doesn’t even meet “him” until right before she dies… I’m not really buying it. The glimpses of each life are very very short, just pages so you don’t have time to sink your teeth into it and get invested. It’s just not clicking for me, but I could be an outlier.

This was one of my favorite books that I read in 2024. I still think about these characters. Such a unique story of love throughout the centuries. I was thoroughly invested in the plot and the characters. Just beautiful!

First, a huge thanks to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for an e-Arc of Our Infinite Fates (Silvercloak) by Laura Steven.
If you want yearning and angst, then this is the book for you!
I’ll try not to spoil anything in this review but I’m still processing; I enjoyed every second of this book. Arden and Evelyn have my heart 💜.
The story follows Evelyn and Arden through different stages of their lives. From the start, we only know that Arden repeatedly 💀 Evelyn before she turns 18. The narrative alternates between past and present, weaving the timeline in a way that keeps the mystery intact without ever pulling you out of the story.
Evelyn was an amazing MC. She's selfless, gentle, and kind, with emotions that feel so real and relatable. You can feel the depth of her love for everyone around her, and the quiet sorrow she carries. Her journey is one of pure humanity; everything she experiences, both the joy and the pain, is raw and heartfelt.
Arden… Oh, how I wanted to dislike you at times, but I couldn’t. He’s such a complex and intriguing MMC. The mysteries surrounding him are slowly unraveled, and by the end, my heart was completely shattered.
Books like this are why I still adore YA stories. I had to preorder a physical copy because I’ll be rereading this one over and over again.

I tried to read this book but I couldn't get into it. It was atmospheric but the language also felt very cliche and dramatic for the sake of being dramatic instead of making me feel invested.

I loved this! such a unique premise and very thought/provoking. I thought it was well paced and immersive. Would absolutely recommend!

Thank you to Wednesday Books and NetGalley for the chance to read the e-arc Our Inifinite Fates by Laura Steven.
This book was one of my most anticipated of 2025, and it never once disappointed me. I can certainly say if the author’s writing style and future storylines even approach a pinch of what she put into this book, sign me up as a reader for life. I know this will not be as well liked by every reader, but the nonlinear narrative served the story well. The author’s placement of the story in various times, locales and cultures is so well done that you truly become ensconced in the many moments the two main characters meet throughout history. I really felt this never detracted from the forward momentum in any way.
While Evelyn (Branwen) and Arden remain the central characters to the story, I adored the relationships Branwen had with her sister and mother in the present timeline. Her selfless pursuit of a very personal nature helped to solidify her humanity for me. I truly felt the pain in the love she had for her family. For one who lived such brief and scattered lives filled with loss, one could simply decide that being connected to people, places or things is rather pointless. But Branwen digs in and dares to hope that she can seize control of her own fate, even if it is only for enough time to help those she loves. Her hopes and dreams (to live a full life, to become a clothing designer, to learn the “why’ behind her fate) are all things you find yourself holding your breath and wishing for her, even as the author ensnares you in the mystery of who Arden is and why must their connection be so fraught with violence.
And, I have to say, in spite of the inevitable, I also rooted for Evelyn and Arden in their many reincarnations. To the very end.
One of the additional things that made the story so poignant was the poetry. Arden’s words really brought home an overwhelming sense of love and the pain of the recurring loss inherent in their centuries long bond. I am crossing my fingers for the publishing of a freestanding version of “Ten Hundred Years of You.”
5/5 star read

Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven was such a unique and entertaining read. The writing was fantastic especially all the yearning. I was hooked from the start and I couldn’t put it down and when I did have to put it down, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It’s so good! I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this and I cannot wait to read more from Laura Steven.

Part of me is furious that this was my first read of 2025, because how in the world is anything going to be better? Love and hate, yearning to be known and running when anyone looks too close - the eternal story of Arden and Evelyn ripped my heart out, stomped on it, and gave it back to me lovingly patched up. Laura Steven is truly a master at her work. I adored the historical elements blending with present day Wales and how seamlessly Arden and Evelyn’s personalities transcended gender, bodies, time or place. It truly is a story about falling in love with someone’s soul in every iteration possible. The pacing was spot on, the slow reveal of secrets and lies and things we tell those we love to protect them was perfectly gut wrenching. I read this in one sitting and was crying at the end of it. Absolutely perfect in every way, and has cemented Laura as one of my all time favorite authors!

This book was so unique, romantic, and enthralling. I loved the concept and it was such a fresh take in this genre. It’s magical being able to read a book that feels new and exciting. I love Laura Steven’s prose, the way the story is woven with so much emotion and suspense, I completely devoured this book in a day! They were the true definition of soulmates/star crossed lovers. I highly recommend!

Evelyn and Arden have loved each other in every lifetime, but somehow before their 18th birthday they always end up killing each other.
I enjoyed this book so much! I love the telling of all of their lives together. It shows how powerful their love and connection are. I just felt like the resolution was a little rushed but the epilogue?! I love every part of it! This story is very different and I love it so much! This is definitely a must read!
Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin’s press for an ARC of this book. 💕

I loved the prose in this book and I think Laura Steven is a talented author. I was initially hooked by the story and couldn’t put it down. Alas, pacing problems. The way I could almost feel Arden’s agony at having to repeatedly kill Evelyn and Evelyn’s eternal devastation when she realizes that she must lose her family life after life, should have brought out an emotional response/tears from me. Yet, those themes were not well developed. I enjoyed jumping back to their previous lives, but those chapters too should have had more exposition to expand on the main narrative.
Unfortunately, 80% of the book is the lead-up and the “why” ended up being kinda meh. The ending too, for me, was unsatisfying at best.
So yeah, beautiful writing with an unfulfilling story
3.5⭐️

This book was one of the best books I have read in the last calendar year and the first book I read of 2025. I went into this book completely blind, other than the main concept, and it was absolutely phenomenal and deserves every bit of the 5 stars that it was given. This book was heart breaking to the very end, but at the same time brought the swooning love to life. My heart was with our main character life after life, and I literally was so heartbroken yet happy by the end.
I love the concept of the book of getting infinite lives with the person you love most and always having to die by the age of 18, which is why I requested to read it, but did not expect it to be as life changing as it was. Seriously the idea of having to kill your soulmate every lifetime before the age of 18 even though you fall in love with them at least half of the lifetimes is just heart wrenchingly beautiful. Going through the time periods and locations throughout the book of different lifetimes was so great to read and all the information was given at the perfect time and did not feel rushed. Some may say it was a little slow, but I personally thought it was fine considering it has a million lifetimes to catch you up on in such a small period of time.
If you love a book that follows love that transcends life and death then this book is for you. It is slower paced while also feeling fast paced at the same time, so be prepared for that and ensure that you want a book that will keep all the necessary information from you until the last minute when it's needed.
"I love you, and I have loved you, and I will love you." So well done, and so thankful for the ARC for this book!

OUR INFINITE FATES was probably my most anticipated read of 2025. I worried it wouldn’t live up to the premise, but I’m happy to say it surpassed any and all expectations. From the first chapter until the final page, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down.

Really wanted to like this but ended up DNFing around 30% it started out interesting but the main character doesn't have much personality and not enough happened with the plot. It was just boring

4.25 stars!
Do you ever read a book and feel that it accomplished exactly what it was going for? Our Infinite Fates is that kind of book.
Two lovers, magically bound across centuries, doomed to kill one another before the age of eighteen in every life. The concept of resurrected lovers feels familiar to me although I'm not sure I've ever read a book with that premise. And yet, if I were to picture a book with that premise it would turn out something like Our Infinite Fates. It's emotional and mysterious and gives you all of those tender moments you would except between two people that have killed one another many times and yet would never not forgive each other. I particularly loved that Evelyn and Arden are resurrected in bodies of varying genders because I think it really establishes that their connection is soul-deep. My only qualm is that I had trouble fully connecting with the characters and I think taking some time to slow down and really focus on their ins-and-outs as individuals really could have helped the story.
Highly recommend that you pick this up, you won't be disappointed.
Thank you to Laura Steven and Wednesday Books for this ARC in exchange for my full, honest review!

This book was immediately captivating and the short chapters combined with the interspersed flashback chapters kept me reading way past my bedtime!! Skipping between the present day and many different points through history, the book follows Evelyn and Arden, a couple that have been reincarnated every 18 years for over a millennium. Before her 18th birthday, Arden shows up and murders Evelyn - he won't explain why, but apparently it's for the greater good... Each time they enter a new life as a baby, in a different ethnicity, gender, class etc. and grow up, Evelyn can remember most of her past few lives but nothing past that except for snippets that randomly appear to her. In several of these iterations they are in love and live together as a couple before each time Arden (or rarely Evelyn herself) kills the other and restarts the cycle. This is all explained by the end of the book, which I did appreciate even if I did consider it an eye-roll worthy explanation (I'm not sure what would have explained it without illiciting this response but still!) Anyway overall I thought it was excellently done, with the side characters being well fleshed out as people and adding to the story rather than being background filler.

I really liked the concept behind this story. The reincarnation aspect was interesting, and fated soulmates were highly enticing. I wasn’t completely engrossed in the storytelling, and found most of the book redundant. The flashbacks to earlier lives didn’t provide much to deepening the reader’s understanding of the main characters relationship, and most of these segments were shallow. However, I did like the writing. It was easy to follow, and there were redeeming moments to counter balance the negative points.

Flowery prose and soulmates across the millennia are at the heart of this novel. Arden and Evelyn are fated to be together in every lifetime; however, they also seem destined to kill each other in each one as well.
The previous lives both lived were interesting and varied, showing their love (and death) happening in a myriad of ways. The constant callback to them in present time made it a little redundant though as we got plenty of chapters focusing on past lives.
I enjoyed the mystery of why they had to die before their 18th birthday and loved getting snippets of the answers through the chapters of previous lives. I wish the reason would have been a little more fleshed out as it seemed a little rushed once revealed.
The story makes you think about soulmates, the strength of love, and what we would do for both.

I have been chasing the high of Addie LaRue for a VERY long time and this book DID IT FOR ME. It was such a beautiful story. My highlights are out of CONTROL because I couldn’t stop falling in love with quotes left and right.
The pacing of the story was phenomenal and the writing was gorgeous.
Seriously I’ll be thinking about this one for a very long time.
