After immediately finishing The Summer of Yes I could not even think about another book. Very rarely do I want a book to be longer, this was one of those rare times.

Kelsey has a near-death experience which makes her take a closer look at her life. She realizes she needs to say yes to more and go out of her comfort zone. Kelsey does not want to be full of nothing but regrets anymore. While in the hospital she shares a room with an older woman, Georgina. Georgina is a successful businesswoman who sacrificed her family to be successful. Kelsey is determined to drag Georgina into her summer of yes and help fix Georgina’s family while fixing herself.

Kelsey and Georgina’s relationship is one of my favorite book relationships ever. It quickly became a witty grandma and granddaughter relationship and it was truly amazing to watch blossom. Georgina didn’t get to where she is by being nice so seeing her let her guard down and be human was great. From the little things we learned in her inner monologues or to her sticking her tongue out at Kelsey when Kelsey calls her a child. Everything was great.

Kelsey wants to fix Georgina’s relationship with both her estranged husband and son but doesn’t expect to catch feelings in this journey.

There’s so much I want to say about this book I just don’t want to give it all away. Put this book on the top of your list and read it as soon as possible.

Kelsey's world is turned inside out after she gets hit by a car while working. Admitted into the hospital after her near death experience has her confused and questioning everything. Especially how on earth she got so lucky to have Georgina Tate who is NYC queen business woman as her bedmate. Kelsey quickly learns Georgina is hard to be around, very set in her ways and questioning her life as well after her diagnosis. The two women couldn't be more different. But connect and agree on a life changing summer of yes. Yes to ice cream, yes to greasy food, yes to everything you normally say no to. This fun read will put life in perspective as it peels the layers of Georgina Tate.

What a fun listen. Sometimes it takes a run in with a car to change lives! Kelsey came into Georgina’s life at the right time. Accepting her failing health she is resigned to never being able to make amends with her husband and son, choosing to build an empire over family. With Kelsey being fed up with being walked all over she has decided to say yes to all the things she’s shied away from. Dragging Georgina along for the ride. This brings a great outcome for both! I thought both narrators did an excellent job.Thank you to NetGalley for this advanced copy. I’m leaving this review voluntarily

First thing’s first: thank you Netgalley for the ALC of this book!
The Summer Of Yes was a darling story about two women who end up hospitalized together and become unlikely friends while they step outside their comfort zones together.
This book was so sweet. I loved the characters and the way they interacted. I loved how both main characters had their own stories but they were still interwoven. I loved that we got both POVs and how believable both characters were. This book made me feel things 🥹

After getting hit by a car and hospitalized, she meets Georgina, a remarkable businesswoman nearing the end of her career. This was adorable. It took me a little while to get into it as I thought the beginning was too slow. But once it rolled along, I fell in love with
Georgina and Kelsey. I'm glad I kept going because this was a fun read from the relationships, the quick banter and the marvellous New York City setting it was just a great ride.

I loved the idea of taking chances in life, saying yes to things and finding true friendships when you least expect them. This is the perfect summer reader.

Thank you NetGalley, Thomas Nelson Fiction and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the audio version. This made my morning walks go swiftly!

I love this book! I will listen again! I really enjoyed the voices. Although I did wish there was a man’s voice, well, because I love hearing a man’s voice. But it didn’t distract me and I would listen again!

This book was full of poignant thoughts. Really about letting go of the things we might think won’t hurt us, but really will be to our detriment, if we don’t! I truly enjoyed the book and absolutely love this author!

Thank you to Net Galley for the opportunity to give my thoughts and opinions, they are all my own!

I had a hard time getting into this one and I think it was because I listened on audio. I didn’t love the narrators but once I got used to them I really enjoyed the book. I loved the characters especially as Georgina and Kelsey finally fall into an odd friendship. I really enjoyed how both evolved throughout the book and how this one was a little romance but really a story about two women becoming who they were meant to be, Friendship and family.

Believe it or not, this was my first Courtney Walsh book, but I will be reading her back log! This book was a great easy summer read. The storyline, character development, and the emotional connections were so engaging and kept me hooked from page one.

The scoop:
Kelsey dreamed of being a writer, but she's settled into a routine of helping other people tell their stories in her job as a junior editor. She doesn't go outside of her comfort zone. Her relationships are safe. Her job is secure. Her existence is stable. And she's great with that. And then, the accident…
While she's in the hospital overnight, she meets an older woman named Georgina Tate- a wildly successful businesswoman. Georgina sacrificed everything to become the woman she is today, but now, with a pair of failing kidneys and only a handful of months left to live, Georgina is forced to come face-to-face with her regrets. Kelsey is forced to reckon with her own list of "things I'll do someday," and she starts to ask a simple but life-changing question: "What if I said yes to all the things I normally say no to?” And The Yes Plan is born!

The banter or I guess it could better be described as “push and pull” between Kelsie and Georgina was witty and raw. I loved watching both stories of personal growth intertwine as each woman works through their own issues to obtain the life they truly want.

The romance element came in fast and strong (not my favorite pace), but Hayden and his Silver Fox of a Dad made it swoon-worthy and so sweet.

The Summer of Yes will be released on July 1st. If you love a story of self discovery/ growth, second chance romance, grace and forgiveness- I absolutely recommend this book!

I listened to the audiobook and the narrators: Tanya Eby and Cathi Colas did an excellent job.

Thank you to Thomas Nelson Publishing and NetGally for this Advanced Release Copy.

The Summer of Yes follows Kelsey Worthington after she is hit by a car and starts questioning how her life is going. I didn't realize how much I needed this book until I read it. I highlighted 18 passages in this book. EIGHTEEN! I have never highlighted more than four. I have prioritized work to the point of saying no to everything in order to conserve my energy or work insane hours. Looking back on the past few years, I don't see nearly enough memories that I could. So here starts my Summer of Yes.

Perfect for anyone who is stuck in a cycle of saying no to even the little things, anyone who is feeling burnt out or underappreciated at work, or anyone who is struggling with regret of things you've given up to prioritize your job. Even if none of these things apply to you, I still think you would like this book if you enjoy fun contemporary novels with a dash of clean romance.

THANK YOU to Courtney Walsh for creating this "disruptor".

This was an enjoyable summer read. I loved that the dual point of view wasn’t a main character and her romantic interest. Hearing Georgina’s internal monologues added a lot of depth to the story even though her stubbornness drove me crazy at times. I love spunky old lady characters and she delivered. It is like two love stories in one but I would call this more women’s fiction than romance since the story is really more about the personal growth of Kelsey and Georgina with the romances being more side plots. I loved the second chance for Georgina though Kelsey and Hayden was a little instant for my taste.

The narrators were perfect for this story and I enjoyed the performance of both voices.

I received an advanced copy of this book via NetGalley. The thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.

Content Notes: Kisses and closed door romance

the was such a good read. It focused more on character growth and romance is sprinkled in. From friends to lovers to second chance romance to families and being reuited with your son and husband this truth has everything. I loved Goergina and Kelsey’s banter and just truly fell in love with their relationship with each other.

The character growth was outstanding during this. Both Georgina and Kelsey became their true selves and fell back in love with their lives by the end of this and i couldn’t have loved it more.

This engages you from page one and there is a relatable catcher for everyone on my opinion.

The narration was very well done and i enjoyed the novel to a higher extent, in my opinion, due to the narrators.

The Summer of Yes by Courtney Walsh was a Yes for me! This book was a great mix between romance, second chances, and following dreams. I loved the story line and how easily the characters flowed through the book to a perfect ending.

The narration by Tanya Eby and Cathi Colas was spot on. The voices matched the characters and I enjoyed the back and forth between their points of view.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC audiobook of The Summer of Yes by Courtney Walsh.

What do you want out of life?
This book has a sweet rom com feel but it will also have you questioning your own life goals!

Our main characters meet in the most unexpected way. Something drives Kelsey to continue this friendship. We follow her & her cranky companion as they attempt to, “Just say Yes” to all the things they’re normally too busy to be bothered with. Relationships are formed, memories are made & wounds are healed.
Just say yes to The Summer of Yes!
