I really enjoyed reading this story. It had romance, longing, and whimsy vibes. The description of the locations in the story made me feel like I could see it all while reading. #Fated #NetGalley.
A fun premise. I did enjoy the book, but felt like the plot dragged in spots. I am not a huge fan of the slow burn, but if you like it this is absolutely for you. Even though I was losing focus in spots, this book was a lot of fun and I enjoyed how it all came together in the end. I will be reading more from this author.
4 stars
"Fated" by Sarah Ready is a captivating read that delivers a rollercoaster of emotions, but it’s not without its flaws. I give it a solid 4 stars, despite some areas that could have been tightened up. At times, the pacing felt a little too long-winded, and there were moments of repetition that slowed down the flow. However, those moments didn’t detract too much from the overall experience.
The story had me on the edge of my seat throughout, and I found myself shouting at the main character Fiona(MC) on more than one occasion, especially when she made questionable decisions. The emotional stakes were so high that I couldn’t help but get deeply invested in her journey, even if I didn’t always agree with her choices. It’s a testament to how well the author built the tension and the complexity of the characters that I felt so strongly about the Fiona's decisions.
Overall, while it could have used some editing for conciseness, Fated kept me hooked from start to finish with its emotional depth and the intense, unpredictable storyline. A thrilling read for those who enjoy character-driven narratives with a lot of heart and high drama.
The premise of this book intrigued me and when it first started I did not know what to expect. I needed up loving this story and hearing how Fiona grew as a person and learned to love again. It blew whatever expectations I had for this book out of the waters and I did not want it to end.
I love Sarah Ready and this series especially. The books are so different and a great escape. This one lived up to the rest and I enjoyed it from start to finish. It was a lot of fun with emotion mixed through it.
I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
Thank you to NetGalley for the audiobook of "Fated" by Sarah Ready. All opinions are my own.
I have been enjoying this series by Ready, and this audiobook was well done. Thank you.
What if you met the man of your dreams...in your dreams? That's what happens to Fiona Abry after her mother gives her a family heirloom that supposedly allows you to dream your greatest desire. And even though she thinks she's happy enough with her busy work life and her home life as a devoted single mother to her son, she finds that in her dreams she's living completely different life in a completely different place, surrounded by quirky characters and a family she doesn't know at all. How can this be her greatest desire? She begins to fall in love with that dream life, but is there a way to reconcile dream and reality?
I've read several books by Sarah Ready now, and I've enjoyed them all. This one doesn't have quite as much humor as the others have had, and while I missed that a bit, I still thoroughly enjoyed the story. I listened to the audiobook, and the narration by Shakira Shute was excellent and definitely added to my enjoyment of this book.
Thanks to Netgalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing for providing copies for an unbiased review.
this is my second arc from Sarah Ready, and i knew i'd love this one just as much as i loved Switched.
this book was simply magical, there was a fun combinations of dreamy and real world feeling romance. Aaron and Fiona falling in love in their dreams was such a new plot for me, and i really loved it!! i yearned for them!! it felt magical but also grounded in reality, like something like this could really happen.
This is my favorite in the Ghosted Series.
I really enjoyed listening to Fiona’s story. The way the time travel was done with Fated was amazing. It embraced the power of or dreams.
I really liked the chemistry between Fiona and Aaron even when he wasn’t sure which one he was getting in the moment. You could still tell they had chemistry and that he was falling for the Fiona he had when she was there. I liked the scene where she saves the island. They all trusted her in that moment when they didn’t at other times.
The audiobook was well narrated and helped bring Fiona and Aaron to life.
I have enjoyed the last 2 in this series but sadly I couldn't get into this one so have had to dnf for now. I might go back and give it another go. The narration was good and I found the female narrator very easy to listen to.
Review to come, I accidentally got this one and didn’t download before archive. Will read and update
From the very first page I was HOOKED. Right off the bat you are sucked into the world of Geneva and this family. You are dropped right in and wondering how the heck this is going to work. By day Fi is a single mother, running a bougee watch company with her brother and scared to love. By night, she’s living a completely different life, in a different body! Fi takes dreaming and a dream man to a whole other level. Then again who wouldn’t dream about Aaron McCormick.
If you love a slightly mystical premise with some a fantastic line up of characters that leave you enthralled and ready for more, please take a chance on Fated. So far this series has not let me down once. Truly an entertaining read that will keep you captured until the absolute end.

"Fated" by Sarah Ready is a captivating standalone installment in the Ghosted series. Narrated by Shakira Shute, this audiobook weaves romance with a touch of the supernatural.
Shute’s delightful narration brings the characters to life, enhancing the story’s charm and humor. Ready’s writing is witty and heartfelt, exploring themes of fate and connection with relatable characters.
I’d rate this audiobook 4.5 out of 5 stars. It’s a fantastic listen for contemporary romance fans, and no prior reading is necessary. Thank you to NetGalley for my copy; all opinions are my own!

This one was interesting. It had shades of paranormal but not really. Fiona is in a rut and her mother comes to visit and gifts her a family watch and tells her a story about if she sleeps with it in her hand she will get the love she deserves. What she gets is a dream man. However, her dream takes her into a life she doesn't recognize and people who know her but she doesn't know them. As we grow with the story we find out more about everyone and she travels back and forth to the dream. What is true and what is dream. The ending was unexpected but oh, so satisfying!
I am such a Sarah Ready fan and will read anything that she writes which is why I knew I had to request Fated.
Thank you to NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC for my gifted audiobook copy.
This story was unique and beautifully written, everything that I expect from a Sarah Ready book. I actually love this series and cannot wait for the next one.
I loved Fiona as the main character, a single mom who is in the watch business and how the story played around this business as well. I enjoyed the other characters in this novel as well like Fiona's brother who is such a huge support for her.
There were so many aspects of this book that I loved and I listened to the audiobook so quickly while cleaning because I did not want the story to end but wanted to find out how this story played out.
I would highly recommend this series.
I have never read a book which has a real and dream life, it was so inruiging and fascinating at that.
Absolutely adore the authors mind and work process, its such an amaying book.
I don't want to spoiler anything and would like to say: read it. Just read it to see it for yourself. (Or listen to it like I did, the audiobook was lovely.)
Many thanks to Netgalley, Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC and the author for the ALC/ ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
As always Sarah Ready did not fail to impress me with the level of cinematic brilliance that I only seem to find in her books.
Like this whole series have been such a stroke of brilliance in terms of magical realism, dual timelines, small revelations, personal growth, crossing comfort zones and beautiful relationships, it's been a treat.
This book follows the story of Fiona Abry, the stoic sister of our shirtless ghost MMC from book 1. We very shortly got to meet her in book 1 and she seemed through Julian's eyes, a protective serious sister of Daniel. This book gives us context as to why. Fiona is afraid to dream, to fall in love, to lose control. She does not (quite rightfully) believe or trust anybody other than her brother and her best friend Max and she loves her daughter more than anybody else. So when her mother gifts her a watch that started the legacy of Abry watches to help her dream and when she finds out that this watch lets her live someone else's life and love without fear, she decides to take a leap. But little did she know, the moment she took the leap she has fallen, in love, trust and much more.
I will be honest, I had no idea how this book can possibly reach a happy ending, I did not appreciate the cheating characters but at the end it all made sense. I felt so genuinely bad for Max, but I know next book is his, so, I will wait for him to have a happy ending then.
The narrator as usual did a brilliant job, especially in expressing all of Fiona's confusions and stress and other emotions.
What a cute, romantic story! It had me on the edge of my seat, would she try and stay in the dream? Is the dream real? Loved it. I have read similar dream/reality books before and the ending on this one was perfect. Nothing left for debate. Thanks for another great read! I listened to the audio book for this story and I enjoyed the narrator as well. I would recommend this book, but I do recommend reading these books in order because there are Easter egg character appearances!
This is my second novel by Sarah Ready. I love her creativity and ability to craft a story that exists beyond time and location. I really enjoyed reading her novel, Switched, but I struggled with this one.
Fiona Abrey is a businesswoman and single mother with no time for love or life’s simple pleasures. When she falls asleep with a magical watch, however, she’s transported to a “dream life” on an isolated island. In this dream life, she’s a married mother of two, and her husband is, of course, a gorgeous hunk.
I think what made this story hard for me was not that Fiona lived her “real life” side by side with her “dream life.” It’s that she supposedly lives in two different bodies. Dream-life Fiona is given the body of a selfish woman who plans to abandon her family and take off with her husband’s best friend. Her dream body also looks nothing like her real-life body. A large part of the story, Fiona is falling in love with her hunky dream-life husband and having him fall in love with her, but when she wakes up in reality and returns back to her dream life, she finds that without her “spirit” (for lack of a better word) her dream-life body and its original persona has treated Aaron and their children horribly. Poor Aaron then seems to be living with a woman with split personalities: this woman is attracted to me and (eventually) loves me, but this woman also rejects me and wants to leave me immediately. As a reader, this made me feel horrible and interfered with the “magic” of the story.
Overall, this was still a good read. I may just be sensitive to angst and stress, which were more prevalent in this storyline than in Switched. Although this is book 3 in a series, it stands alone. The audiobook narrator did an excellent job and pacing was good. (I listen at 1.5x speed.) I’ve already started book 4 and am excited to see Max Barone (the amazing man Fiona rejects in her “real life”) get his happily-ever-after.
