Absolutely loved the premise of this book and found it enjoyable! It was a little cringey in parts, but still cute and funny.

I had a very, very fun time with this book. It was SO incredibly silly that it was easy to pick up after a long day at work and slip into the world of regency hockey. Regency hockey? Hockey with a regency air? Jane Austenified hockey pads? It's hard to find the correct way to describe the sheer glee that I felt when I saw two of my favorite worlds colliding -- and the glee that persisted as I read through the story.

The author has, perhaps, gained a lifetime fan.

All my thanks to both Netgalley and the Publisher for allowing me to read and review this ARC!

Cannot possibly explain how much this book - a mix of hockey romance and historical romance - was literally made for me. A perfect blend of my two favorite romance tropes! I would absolutely recommend this to both hockey lovers and historical lovers!

When you read a romance book, you don't often find yourself crying at the end and reflecting on your life. This is only the second romance book I've cried at from what I can remember. The ending of the book and the idea of love being such a large force in these characters' lives was something that I was pleasantly surprised by.

I did find myself frustrated with the characters and the pacing of the book in the middle, though, and I felt like I couldn't love the male protagonist as much as I should have, which is why the book received 4 stars from me.

Puck and Prejudice by Lia Riley is a fun, flirty, and delightful sports romance that puts a fresh spin on a classic tale. The story follows the witty and independent Charlotte, who finds herself entangled with a charming but infuriating hockey player, who also happens to be her biggest rival. The chemistry between them is electric, and Riley’s writing is filled with humor, tension, and just the right amount of swoon-worthy moments. Fans of enemies-to-lovers tropes and sports romance will love this lighthearted, yet emotionally satisfying read. It’s a perfect blend of fun, romance, and a little bit of rivalry to keep you hooked until the very end.

A quick and fun read! Tuck and Lizzy are great characters that have you rooting for a happy ending. This book checks all the boxes from hilarious meet cute, time travel, and spice.

Is anyone surprised that this was good? It's hockey and Pride and Prejudice. I loved the characters and the romance. It grabs you pretty quickly and you remain interested for most of the plot. The only reason it's not five stars for me is because I'm stingy and reserve it for only my absolute favorites. But this is a very fun, easy book to read.

3.5 rounded up to 4 stars! Thank you so much to Netgalley and Lia Riley for an ARC copy of this book. It was such a cute, fun read. I haven't read a romance with a time traveling premise like this one before and it was well written in my opinion. I really enjoyed the modern view in the England 1800's. I didn't find this to be the best romance I have ever read, but it was definitely entertaining and the smut was pretty on point in my opinion.

Tuck wrecks his car into a pond and when he awakes, he finds himself stuck in 1800's England. He meets Lizzy, a woman of the 1800's who does not want to marry a man who would take all her money and limit her pursuits. After some discussion, they decide to marry in the 1800 time frame that Tuck seems to be stuck in so that Lizzy can have a husband, but when Tuck needs to go back to his present life, they will fake his death so she can be come a widow and he can go free. Of course, they do end up falling in love and things get complicated on how they will continue with their journey in each others realms.

Again, this was not like any other time traveling romance I had read before and I really enjoyed it for what it was. It was entertaining, witty, and sexy.

Ok... this author combining a historical romance with a hockey player...

GOLDDDDD!

It was warm, adorable, steamy and extremely funny and I loved every single minute of it!

Lizzy and Tucker’s banter was so heartwarming and fun and the plot was fast and delicious.

If you are looking for a romcom and dreaming of some Bridgerton vibes with a sexy hockey player, this is the one for you!

This book wasn't for me at this time. It started off interesting, but not enough to catch my attention.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I wasn’t sure what kind of book I was getting when I started to read this one - it’s an ice hockey romance set primarily in Regency England. It has an interesting concept, and the time traveling was well described and actually made sense! The book definitely requires the reader to suspend belief but it’s a fun read nevertheless.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley, I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A hockey player who ends up in 1812 England? Sure why not. This was campy and silly but good escapist fun. This was hard to get into for me at first. Tuck was a gem and I really liked Lizzie but this really isn’t a hockey romance and not my favorite time travel romance. That being said the Jane Austen retelling comp was not really here for me. It was fine but not super memorable. 3⭐️

Thank you @netgalley for the Advanced Reader Copy of Puck and Prejudice by Lia Riley. I tried this one, but it was not a book for me. There is a professional hockey player who ends up time traveling and is transported to the 1800's. And it goes on from there. I'm sure some will love this, but I did not finish. Appreciate the ARC.

I love the cover of this one and thought that the concept of the book is super unique. I started the audio and realized the book just isn't for me. Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for allowing me to be an early reader. All thoughts are my own.

I have always been a fan of a good hockey romance and this was a fun spin on that genre along with the historical romance aspect. The story is about a hockey goalie, Tucker Taylor, who is visiting his sister in Bath, England. He gets in a car accident and ends up being taken back in time to England in 1812. There he meets, Lizzy Wooddash, a wacky regency era spinster, who takes him under her wing to acclimate to life in her time. Lizzy who does not want to follow tradition and find a man to marry, realizes that Tucker can be to her benefit. They decide to wed while they work to get Tucker Taylor back to his time and then Lizzy can realize her dreams of being a widow and with the freedom to do what she wants, like write novels. Of course, they both catch feelings and dilemmas ensue when the time comes to decide if Tuck should go back to his time or not. I loved that Jane Austen was a prominent character throughout the whole book. I also loved the comedic banter between the women as well as the main characters. Of course there was a fair amount of spice too. It was an easy and entertaining read that I went back and forth between my kindle and the audio. The audio was really enjoyable too!

Thank you Avon Books and NetGalley for an eARC of Puck and Prejudice in exchange for an honest review.

I'm going to guess that Lia Riley is a big fan of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series, because, in Puck and Prejudice, her theory of time-travel is nearly entirely shared with those books, minus the trauma factor. Tucker and Lizzy never really hit for me as a couple, and I found that his whole hockey career idea was largely incidental to the plot - it made for a fun title pun. My overall impression was underwhelming.

Thank you Harpercollins and NetGalley for this Arc!
I unfortunately had to DNF this book. I felt like the set up was weak and too insta-love for my taste. I felt like Tucker did not have enough depth to me. I felt like the duel pov was more confusing than helpful. I did have higher expectations for this book because it had a lot of elements I love but I think overall this story is not for me.

I was hoping for more of a historical romance going into the book. However being a huge hockey romance fan, I was hoping for more of a refreshing take on the genre. I did enjoy this book, and really felt it was a fresh take on a currently popular sub genre.

Thank you to NetGalley, Avon and Harper Voyager, and Lia Riley for the advanced copy of Puck and Prejudice.

I went into this book a little skeptical with the time-travelling plot, but I was pleasantly surprised that by halfway through the book, I was pretty invested in the characters and plot. As a reader I, of course, love Pride and Prejudice and this was a sweet nod to it.
