This book is strongly rooted in a history and military angle and has immaculate attention to detail of life in the Roman Army and relationships between the people who made it up. I struggled a little bit with the flow on this one as it was quite heavy at points, and the writing style felt a little formal but enjoyed the concept of this read and the authentic history

An entertaining and well researched, a mix of historical fiction and mystery. There's humour, a vivid historical background, and solid characters
