If I had to rank all of the Blue Heron books in order, this one and The Best Man would be neck-and-neck for first place. This one just HITS. Colleen has been irrepressibly lovable since the first book in the series; she continues to stay true to herself in this book about her own happily-ever-after, yet focusing on her as the FMC allows her vulnerabilities to shape her into a full-fledged and empathetic character. Colleen and Luke together just WORK. I have lost track of the number of times I have reread this, and will continue to do so.

This is the third book in the Blue Heron series, and I find that I am really enjoying the series.

This book had plenty of romance and humor.

The Lucas/Colleen relationship really put us through the paces and finding out Colleen's backstory was helpful in understanding her initial feelings when Lucas came back to town.

I enjoy Kristan Higgins, but this series was har to get into. I had to quit after the first three books. I want Higgins to return to her romances with secondary animal characters. Thank you.

I love second chance stories so I'm pretty sure you know what I'm about to say about this book. I LOVED IT! Though I knew I would as soon as I read the summary and knew that this was an author Kristan Higgins book. I need more stories like this one. Easy and amazing read from a great author.

It had been a while since I had read anything from this author.

Once I got started I couldn't help but wonder why its been so long because from the first few pages I remembered how much I love her books.

I enjoyed the heroine Colleen, she was feisty and snarky and she made me laugh out loud on some of the scenes.
It took me a little while to warm up to Lucas. He could have done with a foot up at the backside the majority of the book but he came good in the end.
Their scenes were well written, they had a good verbal relationship and as I was reading, found myself really wanting it to work out for them. Their "break up" was a bit ridiculous and over the top. I found myself a little annoyed that he wouldn't apologise to her when, he clearly was in the wrong. But overall, they were a great couple. I didn't expect that little twist at the end with Bryce, his cousin, but after realising why, it was completely understandable.

My only real complaint is where are the sex scenes? I don't need hot and heavy sex all the time but a little something would be good. I am sure there some of these scenes in some of her others, so am unsure why none in this one..??

The thing I like about this author, is that you fall in love with the main characters, but there is a whole host of other characters, family, friends etc to also fall in love with.
I will definitely keep on reading other books of hers as well as the rest of the series :)
