First things first! If you haven’t started with the Hell or High Water series (with Prophet and Tom) you may be lost here. The two series mingle together and you should read both to get the different sides to the story.

Now, on with the review.

A friend got me hooked on the Hell or High Water series. She kept raving about Prophet. I tend to avoid series until there are many books out so I don’t fall into that group of rabid fans who are jonesing for their next hit of characters they like. Unfortunately Silvia Violet can be VERY persuasive. So I read Hell or High Water and really came to like the characters of Prophet and Tom. Then SE Jakes came out with Dirty Deeds. I was dubious. Another series with more hot men that Silvia Violet was going to hold over my head? Yes. I fell for it. Hook, line, and sinker.

Cillian shows up in Hell or High Water as someone that Prophet has never seen, but IMs with. In Dirty Deeds we learn what Cillian is really up to. What he has to hide, and why. We also get to know more about Mal, the big man who can’t speak due to an injury sustained years ago.

Two men on opposing sides in a race to find one man. The one who betrayed them all. Who will get there first? SE Jakes knows. And I’m willing to bet won’t be telling any time soon. Get in on these two series. It’s totally worthwhile. (While I’m aware that this is a short review, there is just too much to get into that would be spoiler territory and if there is one thing I do not want to do, its ruin the thrill and surprises for anyone! One thing though: The scene with Mal and Cillian in the club? Sizzle!)
