"Poorly Drawn Lines" is a web comic series that is quite well known by frequent users of the internet (especially on instagram and Tumblr).
Despite the name, the panel comics feature neatly drawn creatures that grow on the reader.
With a lot of sarcasm and irony, Reza Farazmand hits the nerve of many readers (maybe especially millennials). It's easy to identify with the weird characters and their weirder minds, and despite some of the comics leaving a bitter trail, they are usually laugh-out-loud material as well.
A technique mastered by the millennial generation.
Love the collection of comics in this book - a great adition to the comic book shelves out there.

This graphic novel appeals to people who love dry humor with an ironic tone. While I did laugh at a couple of the comedic segments, overall I feel like this book didn't quite align with my sense of humor. However, if you are looking for a lighthearted, relatable and sarcastic comic book, this is it!

I really enjoyed this book of short, witty comic strips. The jokes are definitely approaching 'dad joke' territory but each of them made me laugh and I thought this book was very entertaining. The comic strips themselves are adorable and I liked that the illustration style was quite simple. The drawing style coupled with the fact that there are limited words on a page made this very inviting to read and easy to get through. I think if I were to buy this in a physical format it would be the kind of book that I would dip in and out of if I needed a pick me up rather than reading it from cover to cover.
Overall this is a great book and I find it very amusing!

I remember all of Reza’s comics that would appear on my explore/home page on Instagram and would laugh so hard at them. They’re honestly so good!
A whole book full of them though? Amazing. Definitely my favourite comic by far.
I love how relatable every single one of them are (but also hate how relatable they are too lol).

Absolutely hilarious!Obsessed with this! These comics had me laughing out loud for hours. They combine lovable characters and hilarious dialogue. I loved how easy it was to relate to the comics as well. There were so many that I read and audibly said “THATS LITERALLY ME”. I will be purchasing a physical copy of this for sure !!!

This is my all-time favourite comic. If I could, I would have one of those electronic picture frames at my desk, but instead of photos of my family, it flips through PDL comics.

This was a very cute comic series. I have followed the author online for some time and always enjoyed the comic strips published. I thought that this was a great collection that would satisfy long time followers and new readers of this comic! The humor was just perfect for me and I loved the recurring cast of characters.

Hope It All Works Out! is a collection of comics featuring the lovable, charming, and relatable characters, Mouse, Bird, Turtle, and Snail. As a fan of Poorly Drawn Lines comics already, I loved this collection for its great sarcastic humour and invitation to not take life too seriously all the time. Even if some jokes might normally elicit groans (a la dad jokes), somehow they work well in the comic format. The artwork is fun and quirky, suiting the stories that they convey. This was pleasure to read and something to look forward to at the end of a busy day. Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing for a complimentary eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Star Rating: ★★★★☆
Not sure if this qualifies as a book since it has a higher picture to word ratio than a Graphic Novel, WebToon, Manga, etc.
Regardless, I'm glad I read it. I thought some of them were hilarious and some of them were just alright. Altogether though, it was fantastic!
Like always though, read it and decide for yourself

A fun collection of the authors comics — a light, engaging and amusing examination of life in various ways. Recommended — especially if you follow the comics already.

"Hope It All Works Out!" is another entry in Reza Farazmand's "Poorly Drawn Lines" collection. You do not have to have read the past ones to understand this entry. Readers will enjoy the simply drawn and bitingly funny comics. Each setup consists of at most a few pages, so this is perfect for quick and short laughs. Farazmand's absurd and witty humor will make you want to send these comics to your friends. A recommended purchase for adult graphic novel collections, especially where past "Poorly Drawn Lines" books have been popular.

I love that this collection of panels is filled with sarcastic humor and almost dad jokes. "Empty" was one of my favorite panels in the book, I love how sarcastic the bird is and that it answers all three questions the same with a cigarette butt in it's beak. That bird is the best!
"Alone" is anther great panel and I think I will use that one in real life. "Busy Day" is pretty much me every day. "Sunlight" made me laugh out loud. Doctor Mountainson had me asking WTF did I just read.
I look forward to reading more of Reza Farazmand's work in the future.

This cute cast of animals show the relatable aspects of life that many of us experience and go through. Each little comic offers humour and a reflection on what we go through as individuals and with those we care about. I love these compilations of little comics and really enjoyed this one!

comics/humor - an all-new collection from the popular series "Badly Drawn Lines." I was marginally familiar with Reza Farazmand's work before, but now am a definite fan. So many of these made me chortle and snort out loud. More, please!

Thank you for the eARC!
Simple drawings, dry humoured, sarcastic but definitely not my type of humor.
I read it practically in one sitting (85% in a single day), so some parts felt repetitive, but I think it works better if you read a few pages a day. I also struggled to connect with the characters in this one.
Rated: 2 stars (it was ok)

This collection of comics is quirky, funny, and very relatable. I think we can all identify the mouse, bird, turtle, and snail in our lives, and in ourselves. I wanted to frame some of these strips for my office, they were so memorable and funny!

This is a silly book just like all the other ones that Reza Farazmand writes. They are fun and I enjoy to read them. I am not looking for anything serious and going into reading this, I knew that it wouldn't be. I have enjoyed this book and will get a copy for my library.

Mouse is kind and adventurous but a little depressed.
Crow is always grumpy.
Bear is not very ambitious.
Snail is bad at planning.
Turtle has great fashion sense.
Bird doesn't ever think if he can help it.
There are other characters in this comic series, but I think you get the picture. These animals experience life in a variety of ways and discuss it with one another, almost always in a way that's both painful and hilarious. Although these comics aren't explicitly about mental health, happiness, or the meaning of life, many pages hint at the practical ways we interact with these concepts.
So it's thoughtful, and despite being quite simple, this is also one of the funniest books I've read in a long time. The characters have remarkably insightful things to say, often without realizing it. And even when they are being silly, they do it in a way that really tickles my funny bone. I've laughed out loud many times reading this book, and I cannot wait to share it with my friends and family. I know just enough pessimists and underachievers and people who are weary of toxic positivity that I'm sure I'll be sharing it for a long time.
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

Thank you for the EArc. This book is overall cute and the illustrations are adorable but some of the content left me with a weird taste in my mouth like the writing was just odd and out of the blue. If you can overlook some of that this is a cute one.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
Hope It All Works Out is a comic book collection of short interactions are stories between Mouse, Bird, Turtle, and Snail with some guest appearances from other animals.
The book is a perfect blend of dry whit, sarcasm, and slice of life humour mixed with friendship and emotion. I'd never heard of these Poorly Drawn Lines comics scripts, so I'm so happy I got the chance to read this as once I got into the humor and got used to each characters quirks, I really enjoyed it.
This is a simple, drawn comic book, but it works with the humour written within it perfectly.
