This was such a helpful toolkit! I've been on Netgalley for over 5 years but I think this would have been so helpful when I first joined. Still, it was a nice refresher - like reminded me I need to update my profile every few months.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy. Opinions are my own.

I think this is a very useful resource for navigating the platform as a reviewer or a media person. I have witnessed over the last few years how Bookstagram, BookTok, BookTwitter, and other digital communities have grown, so I know that the world of book advocacy is only expanding. I appreciate that this guide is providing insights on how we can stand out, connect with publishers, and find ARCs that are the right fit.

I knew that publishers check member profiles when approving requests, but I didn’t realize that feedback ratio isn’t the only thing that matters. It was helpful to learn that what I write in my bio, how I present my reviews, and where I share them also play a role. I review books across different publications, so defining my primary audience isn’t always straightforward. This guide helped me see it from a publisher’s perspective.

The device guide was another useful section. I know NetGalley has been working to strengthen ARC security, and I appreciate those efforts. I like using the NetGalley app. I think it could use more features like highlights, but overall, it has made reading and navigating ARCs easier.

I also found it helpful to understand why requests get denied. Sometimes publishers reach their approval limit or don’t hold rights for my region. That has definitely happened to me before. Having that context makes the process clearer.

When I write reviews, I often come back to the How to Write a Review section. It’s a simple but effective reference. Overall, I think this is a well-structured, practical guide. It makes discovering, requesting, and reviewing ARCs easier, and I’ll keep coming back to it.

Highly recommend checking this out when you're just getting started on NetGalley. Great graphics, very informative, and super helpful. I looked through this after leaving my first review via NetGalley - I only wish I had read through this sooner!

This was an easy to read, helpful toolkit to get started. As a new NetGalley member, I really appreciate how much care and time NetGalley takes in ensuring reviewers are set up for success. (I did immediately go on an ambitious "request spree," so it would have been good for me to have downloaded this first. Alas!)

This resource helped me so much to make little changes to be a better book advocate. I have saved this to reference later as well so that I can always come back to it to remember the helpful tips!

I’ve been using NetGalley for six months and still learned a lot from this toolkit. It’s full of helpful tips and insights I plan to incorporate into my reviews moving forward. I really enjoyed learning more about the app, especially the feature that allows EPUB files to be read aloud, which is great for an audiobook person like me. This is a great resource for both new and experienced reviewers, and I only wish I had known about it sooner!

This was so helpful in writing my first ARC review! Thank you for putting this together. It was easy to download, though I had to open it in my kindle app because the NetGalley reader would not open.

I am just getting started with NetGalley, and this toolkit helped me understand the expectations of the community and how to get started successfully. The section offering tips on writing reviews and how to DNF were particularly helpful for me, as I have written book reviews before, but for academic journals, not for public consumption. I look forward to checking out the Social Media Handbook, which is linked in the toolkit, to potentially share book reviews on social media as well! This toolkit is worth a read for anyone looking to get started with NetGalley.

Such a valuable resource, both for beginners and longtime users. I find the website to be inherently user-friendly, but I still learned a lot from this Toolkit! NetGalley continues to show how much they care about reviewers' experiences and ensuring the relationship is mutually beneficial.

I've been on NetGalley for over a year and learned some great tips in this short read. Download it if you are on the fence! Great information.

Another great resource from NetGalley! I'm so glad I found this in my early NetGalley journey, as it's packed with useful tips and tricks. Like the social media kit, it's written in a beginner-friendly, non-patronising way which I love, and split into clear sections to avoid overwhelm.

Even though I'd discovered a lot of the features it mentioned myself by just exploring NetGalley, there were still a few things I wasn't sure of (such as what the dashboard is for), I also really liked that this guide supports completely honest reviews.. I think sometimes there's this stigma that readers only get access to ARCs in exchange for a glowing, positive, 5-star review (I myself had that belief not long ago), but I like how the guide addresses how to approach reviews that might not be 100% positive, and how to still share constructive feedback, which is just as (if not MORE) valuable to publishers.

I'd recommend this guide to anyone like me who's new to NetGalley.
