I went into this thinking I already knew how to write book reviews—but I was genuinely surprised by how much I learned! The NetGalley Member Toolkit is a fantastic resource, whether you're brand new to reviewing or have been around the bookish block a few times.

The updated edition walks you through everything: from polishing your profile to understanding the importance of your Feedback Ratio (which, let’s be honest, can feel like a mystery at first). I especially appreciated the section on writing thoughtful, balanced reviews—even when the book didn’t totally work for you. That is something I definitely struggle with because I want to rate high because I'm so grateful for the ARC, but sometimes a book just does not do it for me.

It’s well-organized, easy to follow, and full of practical, actionable advice. If you're hoping to grow as a reviewer, advocate for books more effectively, or just make the most of your time on NetGalley, this toolkit is absolutely worth reading.

I have been looking forward to starting to review the books I read instead of simply rating with stars on Goodreads. I have found that most of the best reviewers have been ones working with advance reader copy providers. I was initially concerned that I might not be able to keep up with the requirements of the program but the tips here have given me the confidence to keep reading and reviewing!

They provided extremely helpful tips to get started with NetGalley! I felt like it was a very all encompassing and inclusive guide that is definitely a go-to starter pack for reviewers. It would also be a great reference for reviewers who may be seasoned but want to know how to up their game and increase their approvals!

This Toolkit contains so much great info for getting started with NetGalley whether you are a writer, publisher, or reviewer. As a reader, I love that this guide is available so that we can do our best to assist these writers and publishers with their precious works of art. I know it is difficult for a writer to open themselves up to scrutiny and criticism. We all want to encourage them to succeed and share their works of art with the world. How lucky are we to be able to help with that?

10/10 recommend every NetGalley user to download and read this toolkit. It gives you all the tips and tricks of NetGalley as well as explaining some nuances of the publishing industry that may be new to you. The guide also links to outside videos to help navigate and show more details. Everyone is always stressing over what to have in their NG bio & it's all outlined right here. People also struggle with what to include in their reviews and NG also has it outlined and additional tips on what they are looking for (pg24-26) even if you need to DNF!
