Super helpful reference guide for everything you need to know before you get started and also after you have. Lots of helpful tips, thanks!

Thanks NetGalley Team for putting this Book Advocate Toolkit together! As someone who is still newer at using NetGalley, I thought the tips and tricks that were presented in the toolkit were helpful, including the details surrounding what elements should be put in your profile bio. Saving this toolkit to circle back to!

The Toolkit is just what I needed. I loved the examples given on how to write a review and posting suggestions. I even enjoyed the specifics when it comes to publishers’ approvals and instructions. It is very easy to get busy and read through emails too quickly so I will have to make it a point to take my time to read approvals received by publishers. For new members I highly recommend reading the toolkit because it’s packed with information that will be useful when writing book reviews.

Thank you so much Netgalley for this toolkit! I really found it resourceful and it will help me with my reviews in the future. I will also being able to send this to people when I recommend Netgalley to them.

The NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit is a simple and helpful guide for anyone new to NetGalley. I found the guide clear and easy to understand.

This is a good resource with useful information about how to use NetGalley. There are a lot of good suggestions for how to use the site

Love it!! Was immensely helpful! A quick read on how book advocates can leverage Netgalley to ensure that publishers get the correct and appropriate reviews. Anything to support the book community.

A fun and vibrant guide! I guess it did highlight a few pointers that I look forward to employing as I go. The colourful notes here and there didn't distract from the information being passed along. It was designed well too.

This was super helpful. Hoping to reach more authors and promote some great stories.
I was having issues with submitting reviews and adding info to my profile. This is a great tool for new reviewers.

This was an easy and helpful guide to getting started on net galley. I'm looking forward to using the tips provided to improve my profile!

This toolkit is extremely helpful in navigating Netgalley and how to make this most of this platform! Love it!

Awesome toolkit! It’s very helpful for newbies like me. NetGalley has put a lot of work into helping you be successful. Love it!!! Thank you, NetGalley!

Netgalley can be hard to get the hang of at first, so this toolkit is very helpful for reviewers and for those of us wanting to be better book advocates.

I am so excited NetGalley put this together! This is a really great way to re-energize my profile and reviews, thank you NetGalley for making this part of camp NetGalley!

Great tips and tricks to get started. I didn't know we should continue updating our profile. I'll also be using some of the tips to writing better reviews.

Excellent introduction to NetGalley and a must read for all reviewers. Not only do you get a tour of the site and functionality, you can link out to other great articles and resources that help you with everything from reviewer's block to DNFing to reader guilt. There were also great tips to update your bio to help you hone in on what publishers are looking for in a reviewer.

There are some weird issues with the text in some places where it sort of smushes into itself or doubles up strangely. It's still mostly readable, but it's distracting and incorrect. The blue sticky note on the Feedback Ratio page and the Focus On Book Reviews page are examples of this. I'm viewing the PDF in Firefox browser for reference.
It would be useful to note how withdrawing a request or DNFing a book impacts your review ratio since this is so important. A page specifically with things NOT to do is a good idea as well to cover all the common mistakes / issues people make in one place. Examples: downloading/requesting too many books at once, not downloading a book before it's archived, not checking that you're able to read the format given, etc.
The NetGalley shelf app page should definitely have info on the expiration time when you read in there. When you start a book in the Shelf app, you only have 60 days to read it or something like that before access is gone and how to renew that. This feels like a really important note especially if a book is far in the future and you want to be able to go back to it closer to the time of publication to refresh your memory for a review, follow up post, etc and then suddenly it's gone with all the notes you may have added.
I've been on NetGalley for several years and have read a lot of the FAQ and helpdesk guide info about it so this was pretty much all familiar. This is probably a really solid resource for people just starting though, as it gives the basics of using NetGalley and what's needed for each book you download.

Man, I wish this was available when I first started but I still learned new things I will be using to improve my profile (and hopefully, my approval frequency!). I think anyone utilizing NetGalley can benefit from going through this toolkit as well as the included links. You can learn how to use the site if you are unfamiliar as well as what should and should not be in your profile. I found the link to an article discussing what she looks for when making approvals extremely helpful! Thank you NetGalley!

Another helpful resource for reviewers! As someone relatively new to NetGalley there was a lot of good information in here, particularly on improving your profile and writing more effective reviews. I'd especially recommend it to people just getting started!

This is a very informative how-to guide for someone who has just signed up with NetGalley. I enjoyed the simplicity of this. I now have a better understanding of what to expect with my time on the website.
Thank you NetGalley & We Are Bookish for providing such clear and precise content for someone who just started their reviewing journey!
