One of the things that make NetGalley stand out are the various resources that help book reviewers and book lovers succeed in their journey! And this Toolkit is one of the resources! It condenses all the information you would find online in this helpful toolkit, which feels like a guide. It's something to definitely go back to as a refresher and just beneficial to have on your NetGalley App. I really appreciate the helpful tips and examples to help strengthen my book reviews so publishers can see my work. Also, it even touches on the subject of DNFing a book. Which can be a touchy subject as a book reviewer, but a much-needed conversation. I'm grateful NetGalley's Instagram shared about this resource. This was such a helpful and engaging read! It’s made for beginners, and it totally delivers on that—walking you through the basics of NetGalley and how to become a solid reviewer. I read the PDF and honestly loved the layout. It felt like reading a fun, colorful magazine (in the best way).
The "Book Reviews" section was my favorite, especially the tips on how to write reviews. It really breaks down what publishers are looking for and how to write something helpful. Some of the basic stuff felt like common sense to me, but I get why it’s there—it’s meant to be a starting point.
