A cute and cosy continuum in Molly the Maid's story, with all of Molly's quirks and Gran's wisdom that we have come to adore. Molly's boyfriend, Juan Manuel's behavior seems suspicious as he and the entire staff work to keep secrets in preparation for the Secret Santa gift exchange at the annual Regency Grand Hotel staff party. Molly begins to question their fairy tale courtship but Juan Manuel has a question of his own. All romance, no mystery in this sweet holiday novella.

I loved it! Molly has such a good heart. Her gran was very wise in teaching her how to twist creeping negative thoughts into positive ones. This is a sweet, loving, Christmas story.

This was a short and sweet Christmas novella about Molly the maid. I wouldn’t really consider it a mystery as the title suggests, and it was a bit silly in my opinion but a light and easy read.

Oh my heart but I couldn’t love this series any more if I tried! The last lines of this novella are just beautiful. Nita Prose does it again, and Molly reminds us that we always have love no matter what.
It is the most wonderful time of the year, and Molly and Juan Manuel are getting everything ready for the holidays. But Juan Manuel is keeping secrets, and Molly is thinking the worst.
This is the sweetest novella! There’s a little mystery, and all of the characters you love are here too. It is perfect for an afternoon by the fire with your favorite hot beverage.
Molly and her stories are a balm for the soul. I cannot wait to spend more time with her.
Thank you to NetGalley, Random House, and Ballantine Books for the opportunity to read this one. I’m grateful for every opportunity I get to read Molly’s stories. If you haven’t read Molly yet, start today. This one is out October 1st. I highly recommend this series!

Molly the Maid is back in The Mistletoe Mystery, where a holiday gift exchange at the Regency Grand Hotel stirs up more than just Christmas cheer. As questions about trust arise, Molly dives into her most personal mystery yet—one that challenges her perceptions of love and loyalty. A festive and heartwarming tale, Nita Prose’s novella reminds us that the greatest mystery of all is love.
This was such a cute and heartwarming read! As a novella, it’s short, and I breezed through it in almost one sitting. Unlike the previous two books, this story focused more on Molly’s life rather than being a true mystery to solve, which I actually enjoyed—it gave me a chance to learn more about her relationship with Juan Manuel, who is an absolute delight. While the plot is pretty obvious to most readers, it makes sense that Molly would be confused, given what we know about her character. The story put me in the Christmas spirit (even though I read it in September!) and reminded me of the true meaning of the holidays. I’d definitely recommend it to fans of Molly the Maid, but I suggest reading the first two books before this one to fully appreciate the character development.

This novella is very short and the mystery is easy to figure out. I guess the purpose is perhaps to show how someone who takes everything “literally” like Molly could misinterpret clues that are obvious to most of us.
This is a very simple story about kindness, understanding and found-family. It is again very repetitive with Grans stories and lessons however this is probably the way Molly thinks - so that is very insightful.
It is wonderful to see that Molly has found a soulmate and one so generous and kind as Juan!
This one will no doubt sell well as a Christmas book but I can’t highly recommend it.
I received an ARC of this novel from the publisher through NetGalley.

The Mistletoe Mystery is a perfect Christmas story, filled with traditions and more than a bit of magic. I loved the Advent calendar Molly's grandmother made from a discarded library card catalog and the handmade vest that is Molly's favorite piece of clothing. This story is guaranteed to remind readers of their own special holiday traditions.
Molly's grandmother always helped Molly with her social ineptness and inability to read facial expressions, and Molly could certainly use her help in The Mistletoe Mystery. Molly is such a special character whom I first met in Nita Prose's The Maid. She's a character who stays with you, and as I read, I not only felt compassion for her as she misinterprets Juan Manuel's behavior but joy as well because I could interpret the signs Molly couldn't.
This is a nice little mystery filled with holiday spirit. I love spending time with Molly.

It may be spooky season, but it's never too early for Christmas if the retail industry has anything to say about it anyway. Seriously though, if you enjoyed The Maid or The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose then you're in for a holiday themed treat (holiday calories optional).
Coming to you October 1st is a Molly the Maid holiday novella, The Mistletoe Mystery. This easy read has all the feels as our neuroatypical heroine barrels into a very special Christmas surprise. Is it much of a mystery? No, but the excitement of knowing what's in store for Molly is half the fun. Fans of Hallmark movie marathons will definitely want to add this one to their annual Christmas list (what? doesn't everyone have a stack of Christmas books they re-read every year? The Best Christmas Pageant Ever anyone? Their making that one into a movie this year FYI)
Still, if you're anything like me, you'll be taking your time to enjoy all things Halloween-y. Maybe save this one - available anywhere books are sold - for your day after Thanksgiving shopping.
Fans of Molly the Maid will also be excited to learn that the third Molly the Maid full-length mystery, The Maid's Secret, hits shelves April 2025.

This novella is listed as a mystery, but I saw it as more of a romance as it delves into Molly and Juan Manuel’s relationship more deeply. The “mystery” and how it was going to play out seemed pretty obvious to me, but I still enjoyed getting to know the rhythms of this cute couple’s relationship. Overall, a sweet holiday story, but light on the mystery.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Molly has lived a quiet life. She works at a hotel with her boyfriend Juan. She has been with him for several years. Molly has always loved the holidays. When Juan starts behaving strangely, she has doubts. I liked this book.

In “The Mistletoe Mystery” by Nita Prose, Molly the Maid is spending her Christmas holiday with the love of her life, Juan Manuel, remembering her beloved Gran and carrying on her cherished Christmas traditions, but something is amiss.
Molly tries to busy herself at work at the Regency Grand Hotel, but she can’t help but think that those closest to her at work and in their apartment building are gaslighting her. The mystery itself is pretty predictable, but I enjoyed seeing more of Juan and Molly’s relationship and everyday life in this book - especially during the holidays.
“The Mistletoe Mystery” is a quick-read, cozy mystery novella that can be read in less than a few hours. It is not a murder mystery but a beautiful little story that provides the perfect reminder about the true spirit of giving and what Christmas is really about.
Thank you to #NetGalley, #NitaProse, and #RandomHousePublishingGroup-Ballantine for the ARC in exchange for my honest review of #TheMistletoeMystery.

I did love the first book and liked the second book. This book felt so obvious. No real mystery. I love the character but not the story line. I won’t be leaving a negative review on my platform! Just here.

I don't typically read novellas, not even ones that are based around a series I am familiar with. I also don't read Christmas stories. This is a good example why.
I could have gone without reading this honestly. The writing has the same Molly Maid writing that we know and love, but nothing really happens. Its pretty obvious what was it going on from the get-go and it takes Molly until the last few pages to see it which is kind of frustrating as a reader.
Don't expect any murder or any real mystery in general in this.
Also, I encourage you to not read the blurb for the 3rd book in this series coming out next year , as it spoils the small little mystery we get in here..
3 stars because the writing itself is nostalgic of the first two books I enjoyed, and it was short.

A Christmas treat for fans of Molly the Maid. Molly’s grandmother had many traditions to make the holidays happy. With grans passing Molly’s boyfriend, Juan Manual, is trying his best to keep the festive spirit joyful. There is time for singing carols while cooking, getting a Charlie Brown type tree, and an advent calendar with simple and thoughtful gifts. But things are a little off with Juan and Molly is seeing a mystery about her man.
This is heartwarming and sweet. No dead bodies in this novella. There are the standard Molly rhyming refrains and expressions. And her social awkwardness of not always correctly interpreting others correctly. And I liked getting a glimpse of Molly and Juan together as he was visiting family in the last book. The mystery is predictable but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it. And the few familiar side characters are there as well.

How wonderful to read about Molly again! I have eagerly devoured both previous books about Molly Gray, the socially awkward maid with a heart of gold.
This feel good novella gave us an update on her life. Set at Christmas time it is the perfect story for the holidays.I certainly hope there will be more novels about Molly and her adventures at Regency Grand. Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballentine for this uplifting story.

This Molly the Maid holiday novella is a must for any fans of Nita Prose's series! It is best enjoyed with a hot chocolate in front of a fire with Christmas music playing in the background. While it was short, it was a sweet addition to her series and will hold me over until her next book comes out in April! ❤️💚 Thank you to NetGalley and Ms. Prose for the opportunity to review an advance copy of this book.

This is the first book I’ve read in this series. I do have a copy of “The Maid” and after not having the read that book, I can still say that this story wasn’t hard to follow. This was a short and easy read, but I will say that the ending was very obvious from the beginning. And after I figured out the ending, I found myself losing a bit of interest as I continued to read. Each moment (like Molly catching Juan Manuel outside of someone’s room and her granddad talking about the Claddagh ring) solidified my guess about the end. I still felt happy about the ending, but wished there weren’t as many obvious clues to what was going to happen. All that aside, reading this made me want to read “The Maid” as I’m interested in the progression of Molly and Juan Manuel’s relationship.

Molly is determined it will be a merry Christmas despite her doubts on her boyfriend, Juan Manuel, occasional challenging coworkers and missing her Gran. While the specifics may differ from our own lives, the fact that life is still life despite the music and decor makes this relatable. Molly invites us to walk beside her as she carries on, learning valuable lessons along the way and we do too.
The novella length makes it a perfect fit to start and finish between your holiday to do list.
Can’t wait for more from Nita Prose!

It was ok.
Molly Gray has always loved the holidays. When Molly was a child, her gran went to great lengths to make the season merry and bright, full of cherished traditions. The first few Christmases without Gran were hard on Molly, but this year, her beloved boyfriend and fellow festive spirit, Juan Manuel, is intent on making the season Molly’s mofinst joyful yet. But when a Secret Santa gift exchange at the Regency Grand Hotel raises questions about who Molly can and cannot trust, she dives headfirst into solving her most consequential—and personal—mystery yet. Molly has a bad feeling about things, and she starts to wonder: has she yet again mistaken a frog for a prince?
Don't expect much from Molly Gray. I'm tired of this character. When will this series end?
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group Vallentine Bantam for giving me an advance copy.

Thanks to Random House Publishing Group and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy of The Mistletoe Mystery in exchange for my honest review.
Cute story....as usual, Molly is caught up in a mystery but doesn't always read the clues accurately!
