The Mistletoe Mystery is a chance to check in with Molly the Maid over the holidays. It’s short and light on substance but fun enough for a quick read.

Thank you Nita Prose, Ballantine Books, and NetGalley for providing this ARC for review consideration. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is just a nice, short holiday read for those who love the characters in this series. It’s very predictable and the main character’s self-deprecation can get to be a bit much at times. However, the predictability and short-length can be just what is needed during the busy holiday season.

This was my least favorite book in the Molly the Maid series. I was expecting a legitimate mystery, but this was more like the least suspenseful romance novella I've ever read. I love the Molly-Juan Manuel dynamic, but not to the point where I need a whole book full of it. I liked it when it enhanced the existing mystery, not when it comprises the entire plot. Nita Prose should stick to cozy mysteries because this was a flop.

1.5 stars, rounded down

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was really surprising for me. It felt really just like a cash from the author to capitalize on the success of THE MAID. I did enjoy it, but it really could have been as side plot in her next book rather than an entire Novella. I just think it was missing a lot of excitement and after I finished, I was like what was the point.

The Mistletoe Mystery, by Nita Prose, is a delightful holiday novella set in the Molly the Maid world that we have come to know and love. In this 128 page novella, Molly is working hard to get in the Christmas spirit without her beloved Gran. Juan Manuel is hard at work to keep Molly in the holiday spirit, with a big surprise up his sleeve. There is no big mystery in this short tale, and the Christmas surprise is a little obvious from the start. I still really enjoyed this novella regardless, as I love the world Prose has created. 3.5 stars from me.

Mollys story is a perfect holiday read. I liked that the story is short and really entertaining. I hated that Molly was always stressing so much but loved that Juan was very patient with her.
The mistery was great but I found it very predictably.

THE MISTLETOE MYSTERY is a cute extension of the MOLLY THE MAID series. i’ve read the first two and appreciated this novella to get more of molly and juan manuel’s story/relationship. this book isn’t as focused on solving mysteries, but it’s worth reading if you like the characters from the regency grand!

This was the most perfect little
Holiday “mystery” ever. I loved the characters, the setting and the sequence of events. Juan Manuel and Molly are the sweetest and their little love story was adorable. If you want a super quick, binge-worthy holiday read, here it is!

I love Prose’s Molly the Maid series and was very excited when I saw that she was adding a Christmas novella to the series.

This novella has a mystery, but it’s not the murdery kind you might be used to with this series. Instead, the mystery is much more to do with Molly’s own suspicions about who she can trust. There is a lot of fun backstory and glimpses into Molly’s life within this tiny story that I think fans of the series will appreciate.

If you’re looking for something heartwarming from a series you love, this is for you!

If you haven’t tried this series yet, this is your sign to put the books on your shopping list!

While this was a cute story, it failed to capture that spark that the full length novels contain. It was far too easy to judge Molly instead of be on her side as the clues to the mystery were very obvious, having the unfortunate result be that the reader was not on the same page as Molly and was instead just waiting for her to catch on.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the ARC. If you enjoy Christmas novellas and/or Molly the Maid, this is for you. It’s a quick and easy read. I enjoyed it overall, but not quite as much as The Maid novels.

Cute but also made me want more? I do love novellas but this seemed like a stretch of a story line. Eagerly awaiting the next in the series.

This was a cute, quick read to bring us back into Molly's world briefly over the holidays. While the mystery was a bit predictable, this was a fun and easy read that warmed the heart. Definitely worth picking up during the holidays for those lovers of Molly the Maid!

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this wonderful ARC.

This is book #2.5 of the series. I thought this adds a nice holiday mood. It was nothing spectacular, but definitely fun holiday mode. It is somewhat predictable but who doesn’t love holiday touch of a mystery book?

Big thank you to both NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Ballantine Books for the ARC of this short story in the Maid series.

I thought this was cute, quick to the point & a perfect little addition to place between the current Molly Gray MAID books. I just really love Molly's character and the way her brain works!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to sneak in a little Molly the Maid time, especially for a cozy holiday short story!

I absolutely love Molly. She may be one of my favorite characters of all time! While I really enjoyed this novella, I missed the usual story lines in the series.

I would still recommend to any fan of the series. Super cute, quick, cozy read!

This was a short little novella featuring our favorite characters from The Maid and The Mystery Guest. I was expecting an actual mystery like the other two but this one wasn’t really a mystery. While I liked visiting the characters again, I was let down by this one.

Another fun installment in the "Molly the Maid" series - while Molly misses what's right in front of her, we wait in anticipation of the joy of the holiday season that she will find.

So wholesome! The perfect holiday read 🥹

Fans who missed Juan Manuel in The Mystery Guest will enjoy this novella, which focuses on his relationship with Molly. The book also dives into Molly's vulnerabilities, insecurities and self-doubt, all of which I could deeply relate to.

I loved the Christmas vibes, along with how the story highlights the joy of generosity, charity and kindness. Reading this in December, just after I finished Book 2, feels so fitting and meant to be.

Thank you to Ballantine Books for the Netgalley ARC.

This was my first experience with the Molly the Maid series. Despite not having read the previous books, I didn’t feel lost and really enjoyed the sweet story. While there really was no mystery involved this was a fun and lighthearted holiday read.
