I adored this one! I read Can't Help Falling in Love in the fall and was so excited to read another book by Sophie Sullivan. When reading it, I didn't realize it was the second book of the Rock Bottom Love series, but it worked perfect as a stand alone.

Our FMC, Jillian Keller is divorced and back in her hometown of Smile, MI, raising her daughter Ollie and helping her brother run the Get Lost Lodge. She is cautious and careful by nature, but now is even more guarded after her marriage fell apart and wants to just focus on Ollie, work, and her family. Her high school crush and friend of her brothers, Levi Bright, returns home to Smile after finding success in the culinary world but is feeling a void and wants a different pace of life with his family and old friends. Levi also had a crush on his friends' little sister and makes his intentions pretty clear once they run into each other when he was back in town. He was all in from the beginning, but can Jillian let down her guard to let him in? What about protecting her heart and her daughters?

I'm typically not a huge fan of the insta-love trope, but this couple changed my mind! This book wasn't explicit, but the tension and heat were palpable. Their chemistry was sweet, natural, and at times, swoon-worthy. I adored the Keller family, the town of Smile and all the supporting characters and was SO excited to find out this was the second in a series and I get to go back and read Presley and Beckett's story. Hoping for a third book for our third Keller sibling. Highly recommend for anyone on the mood of a sweet, second chance romance.

To be honest, this book was majorly disappointing. The most glaring problem is the fact that Jillian and Levi know nothing about each other. Their entire relationship exists on the basis of a crush from 15 years earlier. Here are some actual questions I asked myself:
Do they even know each other?
Will they ever talk about anything other than how much they liked each other as teenagers?
Since when do people agree to be boyfriend and girlfriend after one date where they talk about…nothing?
Needlesstosay, the chemistry and believability is lacking, making the story skimmable at best.

This was my second Sophie Sullivan book and it might be my last. I thought this was going to be a super cute little love story about Jillian and Levi, a second chance romance, right person - wrong time type situation. What I got was a way too sweet, little to no chemistry/tension and the cheese was cheesin.

Jillian, a 30 year old single mom, moves home after a devastating divorce. Levi, a 32 year old chef and best friends with her brothers, moves home after his Dad had surgery. They both had crushes on each other growing up, but nothing happened and now that they are back home, both single, they have a second chance.

I wanted to like this, I just needed more tension and it felt way too instalove, I would have preferred a slow burn. Which, I get they grew up together, but they were apart for so long, they were not the same people anymore. I also hated Jillian’s nickname, Jilly. Just gave me the ick. I did enjoy Ollie (her daughter) and the siblings bond. But otherwise, not a book for me.

Thank you to @netgalley & @stmartinspress for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Get Lost With You is a swoony, second chance love story by Sophie Sullivan - available on February 10th!

Some themes you’ll love:
🏡 Small Town
♥️ FMC has 9 year old daughter
🙋🏻‍♂️ Brothers’ best friend
👩‍❤️‍👨 Second chance

What I liked:
-Ollie (the daughter) - most child characters have dialogue that feels phoned in or just plain cheesy. I thought Ollie was realistic and kept moving the plot forward. She reminded me of real kids I know, and funny too!
-Jilly’s freak out in the third act was very real. All of the things she had going on that day? Justified!
-Jilly and Levi make a perfect pair. Their story is sweet and consistent, like their love ♥️

What I disliked:
-Smile, Michigan is unfortunately the worst name for a small town. I struggled with it every time I read it, which was often.
-the paragraphs got long at points and it was hard to tell which character was saying which lines. An audiobook might be the antidote to this issue…

3.5 stars

It's been over a year since I read Love, Naturally, the first book in the Rock Bottom Love series so I didn't really remember it or the characters.

This was a cute story, I enjoyed the characters, especially Ollie. The brothers' best friend, childhood crush was fun. Something felt like it was missing throughout the book though.

Thanks to NetGalley & St Martin's Press for an advance copy!

I had high hopes upon starting this! A chef, small town, single mom. It had all the setup points for a great cozy romance. But, this was not a typical romance plot! There wasn’t a compelling enough reason for the two main characters to not have been together for years. They were already in love when we meet them, and they get together way too soon. This made the book feel like it was filled with ‘fillers’. I did read it until the end but must admit that I skimmed through a lot of unnecessary scenes. Even the ending dragged out too much. Once they finally reconciled after the break up, the story just kept going on and on about how much they love each other. It had potential but missed the mark for me.

This is a very sweet second chance romance! If you love small town settings, insta-love and a single mom with the cutest kid, I think you’ll like it 🏕️

Jilly and Levi had the BIGGEST crushes on each other in high school, but Levi left to attend an elite culinary school and they never ended up getting together. Fast forward 15 years and they’re both back in their small town of Smile, Michigan where they reconnect like no time has passed.

They immediately fall head over heels. To the point that honestly it felt a little too fast and rushed for me. I would’ve loved more of a lead-up because I wasn’t connected enough to them to believe their love story that early on. However, I can commend them for being adults and stating how they felt and what they wanted from the jump, especially when a kid is involved.

And I just have to say, Ollie is the spunkiest little nine year old, and the total highlight of the book for me was seeing her relationship with Levi grow. He is so sweet to her, and is always thinking about how to show her he loves her just as much as he loves her mom.

While this is definitely a sweet romance, I personally prefer a little more mess and depth to my love stories. This verged on too Hallmarky for me, and I’ve got to be honest, I was getting bored through the middle. I’m glad I stuck it out though because the last 80% was my favorite part of the book! We love some grand gestures over here 👏🏻

Overall, it was good but too picture-perfect for me, and I would’ve loved some pacing adjustments to the beginning and middle of their love story. But I think if you need a lighter romance with some “awwwww” moments, you’ll enjoy it!

Get Lost With You by Sophie Sullivan is the perfect cozy escape for anyone looking for a heartwarming, feel-good romance. This second-chance, small-town love story is like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket on a chilly day—comforting, sweet, and totally stress-free. The romance unfolds at a gentle pace, with just enough emotional depth to keep you hooked without any unnecessary drama or tension. Plus, the low spice level makes it a perfect read if you’re looking for something light and wholesome.

The female protagonist is incredibly relatable—strong, yet vulnerable, with a warmth that draws you in from the start. The male lead is equally lovable, with a kind heart and steady presence that perfectly balances their dynamic. Their interactions feel natural and authentic, filled with tender moments, soft glances, and quiet promises that tug at your heartstrings. And let’s not forget the adorable nine-year-old girl, who adds an extra layer of charm and innocence to the story.

Sullivan does a fantastic job of bringing the small-town setting to life with vivid descriptions of cozy cafes, scenic streets, and mouthwatering meals that practically leap off the page. The community feels tight-knit and welcoming, adding to the overall warmth of the story. The witty banter and gentle humor sprinkled throughout keep the tone light and engaging, while the heartfelt moments give it just the right emotional punch.

While this is the second book in the Rock Bottom Love series, it stands perfectly well on its own. Whether you’re new to Sophie Sullivan’s work or already a fan, Get Lost With You is a delightful, feel-good read that will leave you smiling long after you’ve turned the last page.

Disclaimer: I read about 50% of the book before calling it quits. I didn’t finish it because I was bored. It’s not a bad story and I imagine has a really sweet conclusion, I just couldn’t get into the story and the plot wasn’t exciting to me. HOWEVER readers who are looking for a calm, stress-free, small town romance would likely really enjoy this one!

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press & Sophie Sullivan for a chance to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Second chance/brother's best friend meets "you can always come home." Sophie has given us a lovely romance story, in a quaint Michigan on-the-water setting that is truly SO charming. If you love reading about second chances and unconditional familial love- you'll enjoy this book!

I have enjoyed many Sophie Sullivan books and this one was no different. I loved Jilly, Levi, and ollie. Jilly's whole family is great. It is great that Levi and Jilly have loved each other for so long but neither knew about it. Jilly married and had Ollie but her marriage ended badly. Fast forward a couple years and Levi comes back home. Instant sparks between these two. While Levi doesn't hesitate to go all in, Jilly holds back some because of her past marriage. You will love the journey these two take. It is so good and add in Jilly's family and it makes for a wonderful story!

This was such a fun read. This is my first book by Sophie and it sure won’t be my last. I enjoyed the small town setting. I wish the book was first person pov.

Levi Bright and Jillian Keller’s disastrous almost kiss was the best thing that nearly happened in their teenage years. Now, more than a decade letter, they find themselves back in their quaint hometown with the chance to try again. However, they’re not the same bright-eyed kids they used to be—Jilly’s now a single mom and divorcee and Levi has achieved his professional dreams yet still feels empty. Could Jilly be the thing Levi has been missing, and is Jilly ready to take a second chance on love?

This book is the second in the Rock Bottom Love series, but, as someone who had not read the first, I can confidently say it stands alone just as well. I felt like the recipe for a really sweet romance was there, but I’m not certain it quite worked as well for me as I would have liked. Jilly and Levi’s feelings are made clear to both the reader and each other very early on, and for me, that spoiled the tension I look for in a romance read. The couple got together early on, and so I found myself waiting for the major conflict of the book. While minor conflicts were sprinkled throughout, I struggled to identify a central conflict that could take the place of the pursuit of the relationship. Author Sophie Sullivan instead focused on each character’s individual development, which was well done in the chapters that alternative points of view. Sullivan did this well, allowing us to see Levi’s motivations for returning home and to understand Jilly’s hesitation at starting a relationship with him. Sullivan remained very in touch with each character’s emotions and drive, and as a result, neither character felt disingenuous. However, when I turn to romance reads, I really am looking for the story to be focused on the couple and their journey to finding one another, rather than their development as individuals. So, while Sullivan is a talented writer, this ultimately wasn’t the right read for me.

Although I enjoyed this sweet, romantic story, it didn’t capture my attention. I’m a fan of the second chance, friends to lovers, brother’s best friend, and small town romance tropes, but I prefer a slower build-up of a relationship. This was almost Instalove, Levi and Jilly quickly realizing that the feelings they both secretly harbored for each other in their teens were all the more potent as adults. There was very little angst, tons of kissing with some very mild, totally non-descriptive steamy scenes, and a ridiculous 3rd act breakup that was quickly resolved. Levi is a wonderful book boyfriend, and Jilly’s 9-year-old daughter is a delightfully precocious character. Overall, though, there just wasn’t much happening in the book, so predictable but ultimately forgettable.

Get Lost With You brings us back to the Smile, Michigan family and is like a warm hug from a small Midwestern town. Sophie is a queen of the HEA and this novel shines with a lovable cast of family and community.

Get Lost with You is a low-angst second-chance romance between Jillian and Liam, both of whom had left their small town of Smile after high school. Jillian and her daughter had moved back two years prior after a divorce and Liam more recently came back to town after his father’s illness. The two are immediately attracted to each other again, but it was mostly “tell” and not “show.” I enjoyed most of the family relationships, and I liked that the daughter was an integral part of the relationship.

I didn’t read the first book in the series but easily figured out the people and relationships.

I tried getting into it but it’s just not for me. The third person pov is also not helping with my book slump right now.

I have yet to read a Sophie Sullivan romance I didn't enjoy -- she has mastered the feel-good, second-chance, small-town romance with authentic characters and Her writing is always super consistent and I know when I read a book written by her I’m going to end up with the warm and fuzzy feels I am looking for.

I loved the history that Jill and Levi shared, and how they became better versions of themselves . While Jill was married and had a child in-between, you could tell that she was still the same "Jilly" to Levi, and he was all-in from the beginning. Levi was a delight, and a green flag man in every sense of the word.

Although I hadn't read the first book in this series, I didn't struggle to read it at all -- it was a great stand-alone novel, and I'm sure a delightful addition to the first. Plus, there was plenty of explanation as to who was who, and all of the characters were just wonderful. I easily got lost in "Get Lost With You!"
