I am having a hard time compiling my thoughts about the book and how I feel after reading it. It is definitely disturbing but the author does give a content warning so it was not unexpected. I felt sad for Tess and what she went through but as the story went on, I feel like I couldn’t connect to her and what was happening. It did give my Beauty and the Beast vibes but less Disney and more 50 Shades of Grey. I don’t think I will continue with the series but can see why some enjoy this novel. I think the description does a good job of describing the story so I would base whether you want to read it based on that.

Not sure why I waited so long to read this. I was sucked right into the story. I loved Tess. I thought she was a strong character, especially with all she was put through. Looking forward to reading the next book.
