Super fun and enjoyable. I love how netgalley engages with its users and gives us fun things like this

Such a fun concept! I love the idea of a summer camp for book reviews!!! Looking forward to other fun events you have in the future.

This welcome packet was so much fun! I loved all of the activities! I appreciate all of the time and effort NetGalley went into to create this fun summer activity!

Thank you for the packet Netgalley. Would love to see these made into an app for easier, on the go use.

This was a cute resource! Very informative and well-designed. I also liked the links that were added for an easy click-and-go experience.

I'm not a nega big fan of interactive things, but I think this was really fun for some people. I also unfortunately was late for two of the challenges, so I decided to opt out.

I love this Camp NetGalley challenge. It's always nice to have some extra motivation to get out there and read and review all the ARCs I've requested. I am so thankful for this platform as it has helped mold and shape my reading personality into what it is today. So fun!

My summer reads for this month were:
Powerless (3 stars)
Hovergirls (4.5 Stars, Graphic Novel)
Compound Fracture (3 stars)
Lilith (4 stars)
A Court of Dragons (4 stars)
Im hoping to finish Not In Love today but Ali Hazelwood to finish up July but im not gonna rush it! So far its a 4 star read and definitely not my favorites of hers.

I enjoyed this online camp - reading can be largely lonely!

I was watching things from the sidelines with Instagram, I sort of wish there was a part of NetGalley's website itself that was like a forums for users to interact in these events, or in general, but I understand this is largely not what NetGalley is used for, and that might pose a problem to using it with publishers/writers but 0ver all - thank you for organizing all this for fun, I particularly enjoyed the lil Bingo boxes!

I was quite surprised to see a bookish event on NetGalley in July, quite reminiscent of Camp NaNoWriMo for writers. Needless to say, I was very excited!

I think the activities are very fun and lovely, as well as the stickers and the little challenges. It was like having small gifts and thrills throughout the month. I love that it gives everyone an equal chance at this game, too! You just have to participate, and if you want the badge, you promote one of your fave reviews (cool!) and you write one for this welcome packet--I mean, isn't that just sweet and fair?!

However, the bingo left me a bit puzzled... What would I win? Did I have to choose my own prize? And if so (which I believe was the case), is it "bingo" when I complete a row or the whole card? I would have preferred more instructions for the bingo and the activities.

Otherwise, this was very fun and I hope it will happen for many years again! I'll be ready!

Thank you We Are Bookish for coming up with the idea for Camp NetGalley.

Unfortunately, I did not get to participate the way I envisioned. Oh, how the summer seemed so long and free July 1st compared to today, July 31.

However, I loved the ideas that were provided and I think a summer reading bingo was interesting.

It would be fun to have something like a fall/holiday reading bingo for those of us who love holiday books, yet are always behind.

Thanks!
Kathleen K.

I found Camp NetGalley to be thoroughly confusing. I think it would have been clearer to me if I followed NetGalley on social media to go with the PDF packet, but that wasn't something I was super interested in so I missed the interactive pieces. Likewise, I think this would be good engagement for a bookstagramer, etc, but I just felt like I was missing something. That being said, I do love the concept and am all about the current trend of summer reading programs for adults. Thanks for sharing it with us!

I love the uniqueness of this packet! It is fun, and engaging. I wish I would have started sooner to really take advantage of this opportunity. I am looking forward to seeing what NetGalley offers next!

Thank ypu for providing such a fun summer event! It was so much fun exploring all the fun games, and seeing how everyone else was participating and what they were reading this month! I hope you are able to plan more events like this in the future!

This is a cute way to get readers involved and active! I know for the months of June and July I'm often slower on my reading progress because my kids are out of school. This summer we traveled quite a bit so I didn't get as involved with camp NetGalley as I would have, but I love the idea of this!

Here is my entry for the Talent Show: https://www.netgalley.com/book/272838/review/376398

I was hoping for a bit more interactive-ness for Camp Netgalley, especially for those of us who don't participate in social media. Could we have had online bingo here on the Netgalley website? Or perhaps a separate site just for Camp Netgalley where we could've participated in all the activities and had some type of chat thread to interact with other players?

I love this idea! This gave me lots of incentive to read over the summer. I absolutely love a challenge. Like other reviews have said, I wish it had been more interactive. There were some parts I did not understand how to use either. I am looking forward to this next year and hope that they improve it.

What a great, fun idea this is! I'm hoping (a) it continues next year, (b) I can find more time to participate, and (c) any teething issues can be improved upon every year.

The Welcome Pack itself was great: informative, colourful, easy to understand. It was a shame it wasn't more interactive - it would have been nice to be able to tick the progress boxes off, for example. I realise this is a whole other layer of tech, though. Likewise, the idea of the reading journal and stickers was great, but I didn't really 'get' how to make use of them.

I think the main thing I'd like to see going forward is just more interactiveness. Perhaps I'm not on social media enough, but after the initial announcements, I don't remember seeing much at all about Camp Netgalley. It would have benefitted greatly from more of a planned and advertised social space, as otherwise it was too easy to forget and feel a bit... "Urm, what am I meant to be doing?"

As for my Talent Show entry (I think this could have been phrased a little more clearly as an existing/older review - I'm assuming? - and not this review for the Welcome Pack), the review I'm most proud of from my decade plus (wow!!) with NetGalley is my one for Stark Holborn's Ten Low. Not only did I love the book, but my review was quoted in the publicity for both this and the sequel, and that was possibly the coolest thing I've ever done :)

So, in summary: I didn't quite 'get' the Camp experience this year, but I am very hopeful that the event can be repeated and all of us will get more of the hang of it.

I wish I'd hate more time to participate! The month became very busy for me. It was a little difficult to know what the tasks were each week and where to find the templates. I hope you do this type of thing again soon!
