Absolutely loved!
I find that ‘cosy’ reads often fall foul of lazy writing but that is absolutely not the case here.
I was immediately transported to a delightful inn in Vermont and felt like I could taste all the food, smell all the flowers and see all the sights.
The murder plot was well thought out and believable and we got to know the family dynamics and friendships of main character throughout which sets us up nicely for the series.
I nearly listened to this book in one sitting and I am so excited that this is just the begging of a new series, I really can’t wait for the next one!
Loved the cover and loved the narrator

The first in a new cozy mystery series about Hannah, who runs an inn in Vermont. One of her best friends since moving back is her grumpy 80 year old neighbor, Ezra. When he dies mysteriously and leaves everything to her, Hannah becomes a suspect. Although she is quickly cleared, things are even crazier as his family members are staying at her inn. Even before his death, they were eager for his land. Hannah can’t help but think one of them is responsible.

I really enjoyed this debut!! It was quick paced and had great characters. I thought Hannah was a great protagonist, and I wanted to see where her clues took her! I can’t wait for future books in this series!

This copy was an audiobook and I thought the narrator also did a good job!

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a solid new entry into the cozy mystery genre. Reggie provides her sister, Hannah, with the opportunity to return home after a bad breakup to renovate and run an inn in an old Victorian home. I found the setting in Vermont, as well as the nature of the inn with its pollinator gardens and natural decor compelling. Hannah, Reggie, and Reggie's daughter Peach, are interesting and likeable, for the most part. Reggie has her "big sister" moments but manages to redeem herself; and I love Hannah's and Peach's aunt/niece relationship. Both Noah and Ashe are promising characters, and I do believe Ms. Rose managed to avoid the hated love triangle trope. The mysteries (yes, plural) kept me guessing, and there is an abundance of characters that are likely to provide fodder in future books. I look forward to Hannah's next adventure and watching her develop her unique inn and grounds.

This is a promising start from a new author. It was an enjoyable read with an interesting cast. It sets up some romantic tension between our heroine and two love interests. The mystery wasn’t easily solvable, but there was a pretty intricate secondary path (that, thankfully, was resolved!). The timeline was also a little ambiguous. There’s talk about black and white photos and then references to the early 2000’s. This ties in with my only complaint about the narrator. Sometimes her voice projects a heroine in her early twenties and other times in her thirties or forties. All in all, I think this will be an enjoyable series, and I look forward to the next installment!
