This is probably a case of "it's me and not you," as I had a hard time connecting with the story. I'm a Christian and enjoy stories with a subtle religious theme, but not if they're too strong and this one was for me. The story was also pretty predictable and seemed to follow a prescribed format, which didn't allow for that emotional connection that I was seeking.
