“You’re insufferable.”
“Some might call me charming.”
“Who?” She scoffs. “The cows?”
This book. This. Book. It was everything I wanted and more.
Sam and Cooper have been caught in a love lie. A love lie that they will only have to play at until the end of their Honeymoon. 1 week in a tropical paradise? The worst thing that could go wrong is a bad tan line.
Or a broken heart.
But it’s all for show, all for the show. No matter how real every conversation, every touch starts to feel. But there’s no way the city clicker and the cowboy could ever work in the real world. Right?
I loved this book so much! It was a great follow up to The Love Rematch and I can’t even explain how much I love Sam and Cooper. And Sam and Cooper together. Definitely black cat and golden retriever energy the entire time. And I was here. For. It.
I loved the writing and the plot and the humour and the tension and the romance and the characters (both main and side).
I have no complaints. I have maybe one small gripe – it wasn’t as off putting as the issue I had with the first book.
“And the bullying. And the misogyny. And cancel culture. And feminism. And-“
“Don’t throw buzzwords at me, young lady.”
Yes! Please stop throwing buzzwords at me. It felt a little out of place and when I read it I was like ‘oh no’. But then it never really came up again, I mean, the themes kinda did, but it wasn’t so IN YOUR FACE. Which I appreciated. But made this line stick out even more so.
Okay okay okay now back to the stuff that I love: COOPER. FREAKING. KELLEY.
My poor boy pops a boner every time he hears Shania Twain GOOD HEAVENS He’s adorable.
Also I have an inkling what the next book in the series is about and SIGN ME THE HECK UP. Gimme gimme gimme.
Thankyou to the author & NetGalley for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

While this whole storyline is highly improbable, it was fun as hell. The chemistry was off the charts and lord knows I can’t resist the forced proximity trope!
The cover art is not very good (that hat looks ridiculous) but I very much so enjoyed this whole book.

This was a cute and fun read, most definitely worth it to read if you’re in a reading slump. The Shania Twain parts were hilarious.

Im giving this book 3 ⭐ it was really like a fun kind of read i did like it it was cute if you want something easy to read and cute definitely worth a try

The Love Lie was a lighthearted and fun read. Kay Marie delivers an easy, feel-good story — a great follow-up to The Love Lie. If you’re looking for a breezy, charming read, this one is worth picking up!

I absolutely loved The Love Rematch and knew I had to dive into The Love Lie next. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint in the slightest! Sam, our fierce, clever, and determined FMC, is a total standout. She has a tough exterior, but her vulnerable side will really tug at your heartstrings. She's such a relatable and well-rounded character. Then there's Cooper, the charming, quick-witted cowboy MMC, who is the perfect match for Sam. He’s swoon-worthy in every way.
This book was a total delight to read. Imagine The Bachelorette meets The Parent Trap, with Sam and her twin sister Emily swapping places for a national TV show without anyone knowing. Sam and Cooper’s pretend romance will keep a smile on your face from start to finish. Their witty banter is hilarious, and the chemistry between them is simply irresistible. As the story unfolds, you’ll find yourself deeply invested in their emotional journeys and the challenges they’ve faced.
Thank you NetGalley for sending this book (eARC) for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

I'd read the first in the series, The Love Rematch and in my review I said that I was looking forward to the sequel so I was so excited to get this!
It had the same charm as the first, and dual POV, I loved the characters and easily fell back into connecting with them.
This time we follow Emily's twin Sam as they swap lives for the finale of the dating show. Again the writing is excellent and characters were really fleshed out and easy to picture.
It was a great rom-com and so looking forward to more!

NetGalley Review — my rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
“The Love Lie” by @kaymariebooks is the second in the Love Match series — this book came out September 24 & I can’t believe I slept on it this long!
Sam is in a tight spot (pretending to be your twin sister in a bachelorette-esque finale will do that to you) when she says YES instead of no to the final guy. But when forced proximity meets opposites attract, what else do you expect could happen?
I thought I didn’t like many closed door romances but I suppose when they’re written as well as this, I’m gonna keep five starring them!
Don’t wait on this one! Cute and LOL funny!
Big thanks to @kaymariebooks herself for this ARC!

Twin swap, dual POV and a fake engagement, this book had it all! It took me a while to get into this book but once I did it was so much fun. Thank you to Nergalley for the ARC.

🎬Book Review🎬
It really took me a while to get into this book. I'm not really sure why because the action started on the first page. However the chemistry between the two MCs was palpable from the beginning and I readily followed their journey towards each other, which was a lot of fun to read. The ranch aspects were super cute but you cannot have two people in a western saddle! It just doesn't work! Please authors, talk to a horsey person before you include the 'only one horse' trope! The spice was a little different to what I had read in the past - open door but not explicit. Overall a really fun read!
Big thanks to Netgalley and Kay Marie for a copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.

The Love Lie is the second book in the series, and I was so excited to read it. I really enjoyed the first book, and this one did not disappoint.

The Love Lie started slow, but once it got cooking it was such a fun read! Sam and Cooper's energy works well off of each other and their chemistry is perfect.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

The Love Lie is the follow-up to the first book in the series The Love Rematch and follows Emily’s twin sister Samantha as they switch places during the finale of the show. Sam figured it would be simple, pretend to be her sister and let the final two guys down easy but even though Cooper already knew the plan that all went out the window when Sam sees him for the first time.
Instantly, Cooper knew the difference between Sam and Emily and he knew without a doubt that he wanted to truly know Sam so when she said yes deviating from the plan he knew he was in for a battle. The pull between Sam and Cooper is instantaneous even though Sam tried to keep her walls up she felt them slipping with Cooper every time they talked and touched. There was a lot standing in their way but Cooper knew he would fight for Sam no matter what, he just needed her to realize she wants to fight for him and for them on her own.
This was a fun follow-up and I enjoyed the pull Sam and Cooper shared. They kept each other on their toes and saw what made each other tick and what made them happy. I enjoyed seeing them grow into their relationship together and even though Cooper already knew the outcome he waited for Sam to catch up.
I’m hoping there’s another book in the series following the next lead of the show who happens to be a professional hockey player and friends with Winnie’s older brother so I’m hoping it’s a brother’s best friend romance especially since Winnie (Sam’s roommate) is obsessed with romance books.
Thank you @kaymariebooks and @netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback

Very cute romance. I liked the story, I liked the characters. It was a quick read. I didn't realize it was part of a series so I'll have to go back and read the others.

I didn't realize this was a sequel until I started reading it. I didn't have any trouble following the story though. It was a cute rom com with a fairly unique premise. The execution was just okay for me, but it was a decent enough light read, especially if you like insta-love/lust stories.
I read an ARC of this book from NetGalley. All comments are my own.

Was a refreshing, lighthearted romance that skillfully blends humor, tension, and heartfelt moments. The novel centers around the fake relationship trope, but with a twist that keeps the reader invested. Kay Marie’s writing is sharp and witty, creating characters that feel authentic and relatable, especially the dynamic between the two leads. Their chemistry evolves naturally, providing moments that are both laugh-out-loud funny and deeply emotional without being overly dramatic.
What sets The Love Lie apart from other romantic comedies is its smart balance of romance and personal growth. The protagonist’s journey isn’t just about finding love, but also about understanding herself and confronting the reasons behind her choices. Secondary characters add depth to the story without overshadowing the main plot, making it a well-rounded and enjoyable read.
Overall, The Love Lie is a charming, feel-good novel perfect for anyone looking for an entertaining, romantic escape. The pacing is brisk, the banter is delightful, and the emotional beats hit just right, making it a must-read for fans of contemporary romance.
Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for providing me with an ARC and allowing me to provide my honest review

The Love Lie is the follow-up to The Love Match, which I quite enjoyed. It takes place immediately in the aftermath of Emily and Jake duping production to make their romantic getaway, leaving her twin Sam in her place to gently let down Cooper before he can propose. But when Sam is stunned into silence by Cooper’s looks, charm, and sheer magnetism, she not only fails to turn down his proposal, she agrees to their romantic post-show trip to the Maldives. Continuing the double charade of both being Emily and half of a loving couple, Sam fights her attraction for as long as she can before finally giving in. Determined to keep Cooper at arm’s length while also enjoying their limited time together, Cooper is set on wooing Sam, hoping to make a real go at a relationship. It’s a battle of the wills, but only if they’re willing to make the necessary sacrifices and admit the truth behind their lies.

A fun follow up. I didn’t like Sam as much as her sister but I did enjoy the chemistry between Sam and Cooper.

All the heart eyes for this book! Sam and Cooper's chemistry is off the charts and I DEVOURED this book. No notes.
