I love this book so hard. I ship the mc characters so hard! This book does end in a cliff hanger. But it is so good. The world and story continues to build on top of each other. I love that as a reader.

Love this series and the characters. I recommend it all over the place. Thank you for the chance to read these books again and again.

Highly entertaining and a good go to comfort read. These are the books I like to come home to after a long day at work. Easy to slip into and do not require a lot from the reader. Charley Davidson is fun and quirky and gives me what I need in an easy read!

As book five ended in a marriage proposal, Charley needs to give Reyes an answer and now wants to find out more about him but Reyes is being reluctant.
As with the rest of the books in the series, I feel like Sixth Grave on the Edge still give us action and the funnies. I love Charley's humor and spunk and Reyes is just too dang on sexy. The relationship between the two is somewhat tested but as always Charley and Reyes pull through. The side stories were interesting and kept the overall arc moving along.
Another great addition to the series.

I'm going to write this review as a "series" review because, quite frankly, I binge read the whole series THIRTEEN books in one week. I literally couldn't put them down. When I read the last page of the last book, I wanted to cry.

Book one hooks you from the start. The world that Darynda built within this series is phenomenally creative. It's full of magic and mystery. The hero is the perfect anti-hero turned true hero that I've read in a long, long time. My heart broke for the trials and tribulations the hero and heroine went through to get to the end of the series. Calling it an emotional rollercoaster doesn't even cover the vast span of emotions that the author drags the reader through.

The only complaint I have is that the series ended.... there was a "the end" and I didn't want to be done yet. A complete must read for all PNR lovers!

Ok....so this installment was not my favorite. It was still a good read for sure but I felt like it was lacking in the snarky humor department.

A re-read thanks to a promotion by Netgalley for the final Charley Davidson book. I love this series and so happy to have it in my e-reader instead of getting a loan from the library.

A bit of an unpopular opinion... This one bugged me a little. I don't know if it was me or the book. I don't know. I think it was a lot of hurry up and wait in the book. Nothing really got resolved, it was all lead-up to the big question, that didn't get answered. No spoilers, not my way...but I'm a bit irritated at the moment.

I still got mad love for all my favorites, but there's a new question mark on the scene...The Dealer, dafuq? Anywho...I don't know... maybe I need a bully break or a nice smushy rom-com, 3 stars, LOL!

So we pick up Sixth Grave on the Edge with Charley and Reyes "nigh affianced". (Hehe I just wanted to say that and totally cracked up every time Charley called Reyes her "nigh fiance".) Really though, Reyes proposed and we're just waiting to see if Charley will accept.

Sixth Grave on the Edge is one of those books that makes it completely obvious that Darynda Jones planned this entire series before she ever started writing.

There hasn't been too much activity in the demon areas of the series. Although, we do meet a demon (or daeva) called the Dealer. Mostly the overall series story hasn't made too much progress. Well, there was one small bomb dropped at the very end of the book which I didn't see coming. And now that I think about another development too. But that's all.

I didn't feel like any one aspect of this individual book took over--it was about as well rounded of a book as possible. Charley's cases weren't too front and center, neither was the war, neither was her relationship with Reyes (there was just enough of this to make me happy). I do think a good bit of time was spent on Cookie and Uncle Bob, but I didn't really mind that. Other small side stories were woven in: Captain Erickson, Amber and Quienton, Miranda, etc. There's something up with Charley's Dad that was just hinted at. We'll see more of that in the coming book(s).

I did find a continuity error. FBI Agent Carson is called Agent Carter 3 times within one chapter. I don't know if this was in the published version or just the egalley that I received. Anyway, it threw me and had me thinking I was crazy for a bit until the correct name was used. Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about.

All in all, Sixth Grave on the Edge might be my favorite of the series so far, and I'm giving it 4.5 Stars. Have you read Sixth Grave on the Edge? What did you think? Let me know!

I love the humour. It's constantly making me laugh. And as a concept it's great - something completely original and fresh. I am more and more intrigued by the characters. The story is definitely ramping up and it all seems to be orderly chaos but in a good way.

Another fun read in the world of Grim Reaper, Charley Davidson, and her cast of quirky side kicks and secondary characters. This time Charley is investigating into the past of Reyes, her smoking hot "affianced". This one gets a little dark - and it wasn't my favorite so far - but Charley develops more of her abilities and still solves her cases, but there are some nail biting moments for sure. I highly recommend listening to the audio with Lorelie King doing the voices. It's excellent and really brings the characters to life.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I enjoyed reading this. An interesting story with fun characters. Well written.

This was a fantastic story! Charley is finally starting to discover what she can do, and as usual it seems like everything repeatedly goes south! The ending was great, and I can’t wait to see what waits for me in the next book! Thank you for the opportunity to review this gem!

Whelp, another one down.
The main plot thickens and countless subplots are resolved. No change here.
I am getting a little tired of the unfathomably rich bad boy boyfriend. I understand this is a paranormal romance and, by definition, not meant to be 'realistic'. But I am getting tired of new cars being purchased, buildings being gifted, 'oh by the way I own this restaurant now so order whatever you want because I give you the moon baby' all balanced out with 'and now we will work together so that I can watch your every move' and 'we will live together even if you say you are not sure because I know what is best for you'.
I am the first to admit that yes, Charley needs all the help she can get. However, I hate it when the 'main man' just walks all over her and she just smiles and thinks 'ah, he is so cute'.

At the very least I would love to see her stand up for herself.

Anyways.

That being said Charley still makes me laugh with her taking everything 'literally' and purchasing an ungodly number of 'mocha lattes'. How this girl eats the way she does and still has a cute butt is a mystery, I am chocking it up to her being supernatural and s#it.

I am interested in how this continues. I don't think it is a mystery but I guess I am dedicated to seeing it to the end now.

Thanks NetGalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Sixth Grave on the edge by Darynda Jones.
Few things in life can come between a grim reaper and her coffee, but the sexy, sultry son of Satan is one of them. Now that Reyes Farrow has asked for her hand, Charley Davidson feels it's time to learn more about his past, but Reyes is reluctant to open up. When the official FBI file of his childhood abduction lands in her lap, Charley decides to go behind her mysterious beau’s back and conduct her own investigation. Because what could go wrong?

Unfortunately, another case has fallen into her lap—one with dangerous implications. Some very insistent men want Charley to hunt down a witness who is scheduled to testify against their boss, a major player in the local crime syndicate. If Charley doesn't come up with an address in 48 hours, the people closest to her will start to disappear.

Add to that a desperate man in search of the soul he lost in a card game, a dogged mother determined to find the ghost of her son, and a beautiful, young Deaf boy haunted by his new ability to see the departed as clearly as he sees the living, and Charley has her hands full. The fact that Reyes has caught on to her latest venture only adds fuel to the inferno that he is. Good thing for Charley she's used to multi-tasking and always up for a challenge…especially when that challenge comes in the form of Reyes Farrow.

Omg an absolutely fantastic read with great characters. Love Charley. Still my favourite. I love this series. 5*.

Sixth Grave on the Edge is more of what I expect from the series and the author. I like that new major players keep being introduced, and reoccurring secondary characters keep evolving and growing right along side Charley. I enjoy this series so much, but want you all to discover the twists and turns for yourself. Honestly, I have not been reading the blurbs before moving on to the next book, and am enjoying the mystery of what is happening. I think some of the blurbs give a way more than they should, some details of which are part of the mystery Charley needs to uncover with a great deal of support from her friends. If you have enjoyed the series so far, you will want to keep going. While the series is starting to lose some of its shine for me, I still greatly enjoy the read and am still continuing with my binge reading and grinning through a good portion of it.

This series is really building up. So many answers to questions that has been brought up in the previous books. Plus a happy and yet worrisome ending. Every book we get a little more of the son of Satan. I already started the 7th in this series. I almost don’t want this series to end! Thank you for letting me review this book Netgalley!

This series is always in high demand at my library. The characters Daryna Jones uses are delightful and my readers love getting to know them more each book. Fabulous series!

I know Charley's sense of humour isn't for everyone but I love her and lets face it if you don't like her then I'm pretty sure you'll have given up this series long before you reached book six. Charley may be more than a little insane but has a heart of gold and she's willing to put herself in danger to help even strangers so it's no wonder she has loyal friends. I love her friendship with Cookie and her daughter Amber, I love how protective her uncle Ubie is of her and of course, like pretty much the rest of the female population, I'm obsessed with her nigh-fiancé Reyes. If there was one thing I found slightly frustrating in this book it was her holding out so long before giving Reyes an answer but since they were having fun teasing each other about it I was willing to overlook that.

As always Charley has a lot on her plate, she's still trying to find out more about her Reaper abilities, she's got a client who accidentally sold his soul to the devil, there's the naked dead guy who won't get out of her car, Cookie and Ubie are being stubborn so she's trying to push them together, she's also worrying about Rocket's prediction for Reyes, looking into Reyes' human family and if that wasn't enough she's held at gunpoint by two men who want her to find a woman who is currently in the witness protection program. Yes, there's definitely a lot going on in this one and the way things are going it looks like the series is just going to get even more intense from her onwards.

It's not all action though, there are some great moments between Charley and Reyes as they try to figure out how their relationship is going to work, we get some revelations about her ghostly sidekick Angel that brought a tear to my eye, and there is definitely something strange going on with Charley's father. I'm still not very happy with him so I really want to see more of a redemption arc as we start to unravel his secrets. As long as that arc doesn't include a happy ending for Charley's step-mother I'll be okay with it, that woman is a monster and she does NOT deserve any kind of forgiveness from Charley. Especially after the way she acted in this instalment!

Anyway, I think that's enough to show that I'm still loving this series so I'm signing off here so I can get started on book seven.
