Thank you NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the Arc of "Spring Fling" by Annie England Noblin.

4🌟

The story is a cozy, small-town friends-to-lovers romance featuring Mylie, a tackle shop owner, and Ben, her childhood friend, who returns to renovate his family home. Their reunion is filled with sparks and tension as their differing goals create a push-pull dynamic. The setting is charming, with community events like a fishing tournament adding warmth. While the slow-burn romance has sweet flashbacks, the chemistry between Mylie and Ben sometimes feels forced. Despite this, the book’s wit, nostalgic touch, and small-town charm make it an enjoyable read for fans of lighthearted, feel-good romance stories.

3.5 rounded up. This was cute, and there's a lot to like about the small town, about Mylie, and about Ben. There were a few continuity errors in the uncorrected proof (mostly having to do with Morris and alcohol) but the heart of the story is fun. Would take more back story about Ben.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the author for an eARC of this book

Mylie and Ben are old high school friends that went separate ways after graduating high school. When Ben comes back into town to sell his childhood home the two reconnect and work through what a relationship could look like for them from there.
If you're a lover of small town romance, this one is definitely for you. Clay Creek and its residents were very lovable.
I consider this one of those Hallmark movie kind of books. It's an easy read and you know how it will end, but you enjoy it anyway.

This was a cute story, but it felt a little underdeveloped. Ben and Mylie didn't feel exactly right for each other, in the sense that there was just chemistry missing from them. The slow burn and arguments just provided me with a feeling like they weren't a good match. I'm also not the biggest fan of third person POV, but that's okay! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

This book by Annie Noblin did not disappoint. I absolutely gobbled this one up. Ben and Mylie are your classic story of second-chance love. I'm a sucker for small-town romances, so I knew I'd enjoy this one.

The story has a dual timeline: present-day and then flashbacks of the past. I loved getting a glimpse into Ben and Mylie's younger days. As a reader, you witness the missed chance at love alongside the second shot.

I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a friends-to-lovers rom-com. It's an easy but delightful read. 3.5 stars, rounding up!

Thank you so much to NetGalley for providing me with this arc for my honest review!

Ok I’m going to be very honest. I really really wanted to enjoy this book 😭, and at parts I did. In fact my emotions towards this book kinda went like 📈📉📉📉📉 if that makes sense.

Like in the beginning I was eating them up. Ben and Mylie were so cute, but by the end it felt like they had no chemistry and Ben would have been better off going to his new job.

Plus there were many plot holes, like Jodi’s name firstly. Like part of the time it was spelt “Jodi” and the other part of the time it’s spelt “Jodie”???

And then Jodi’s boyfriend/husband. In the beginning it is emphasized that Jodi’s mom is trying to set her up with “Dr” Ben because she has been dating her boyfriend for four years and he still hasn’t proposed. But then during the set up for the competition, Jodi refers to him as her husband….???

And lastly Ryan aka Cassie’s boyfriend/ex. During the book, Cassie gets cheated on by Ryan, and it’s a whole big deal. Like a huge plot point, in fact Ryan goes on to date another girl, and Mylie states to Cassie that there is nothing wrong with her. She thinks Ryan will probably cheat on this girl too because that’s just his personality. Anyways by the end of the book, like the last chapter when they are all hanging at Ben’s house, Cassie asks why Mylie gets to have her boyfriend at family dinners (which honestly was the stupidest comment I’ve ever heard but anywho) and Mylie tells her she can bring RYAN???????? next time????

Like okay I get it, there’s gonna be problems because it’s an ARC but not huge plot holes like that….?

But yes I’m still rating it 3 stars which is in my recommended zone of star range because I think Annie has lots of potential as a writer. This story just went from slightly overdone but still cute (in fact she was pulling it off) to okay girl calm down it’s turning into a Wattpad story.

PS: I also must add for the Sarah Adams’ clean book lover girlies that this book is not in anyway clean. There is at least 3-4 sex scenes. They are super rushed and honestly took away from the book, soooo yes just keep that in mind if this caught your eye do to the “for fans of Sarah Adams”.

Spring Fling is a sweet, small-town friends-to-lovers romance that brings all the cozy vibes! Mylie, a small-town tackle shop queen, and Ben, her childhood bestie, reunite when he returns to Clay Creek to fix up his family home. Sparks fly, but their differing plans—Mylie’s love for her hometown and Ben’s big-city goals—make for a fun push-pull dynamic.

With a little spice, some heartwarming moments, and the perfect dash of small-town charm (plus a fishing tournament!), this is a feel-good read that’s full of wit and cozy charm. Definitely a win for fans of this trope!

Thanks to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the opportunity to receive the ARC.

Mylie and Ben were childhood best friends, but they grew apart when Ben moved away for college. Ten years later, Ben returns to town to sell his family home, while Mylie has stayed and built a successful bait and tackle business. As they reconnect, their friendship rekindles and gradually blossoms into love. This is an easy, enjoyable read, with a touch of danger that adds depth to the story.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I think this is more of a "I'm the problem, not you" situation. Spring Fling is a breezy, small-town second chance/friends-to-lovers romcom. I'm not a huge fan of either of those tropes (and especially not the miscommunication trope), and I think I was feeling that more and more as I read this one. But overall the plot was cute, the pacing was perfect, and it's an overall lighthearted read. Definitely give this a try, as it might work better for you than it did for me!

Spring Fling is a sweet small town romance. I loved the old friends to lovers trope. You will fall in love with the FMC, Mylie. She is strong, loving and confident. Her friendship with the MMC, Benjamin, is very relatable!

I received an advanced e copy of Spring Fling for review. I immediately fell in love with the characters and loved the past and present views in the book. This was a perfect romance that could definitely have a follow up book. I'm invested in Mylie and Ben's story.

Small-town, high school friends reconnect and fall back in love years later. Cute plot, enjoyed the small town setting, side characters had a lot of personality, multiple challenges that wrapped up fairly well at the end.

However, the two main characters fell a little flat, we don’t really know why they fall back in love except for the fact that they secretly loved each other 10 years ago. Wish we could have seen more of them re-getting to know each other.

Also, I know this is not a completed published book yet, BUT way too many editing errors for me. The main character’s name is spelled wrong as the first word of chapter 1. The friend’s name is spelled wrong in at least 3 chapters (15, 37, 43) and probably more I just didn’t noticed. These are your characters, how could you misspell their names?

And a few details changed while reading, which I don’t love. At one point she says that the Lawrence’s owned this house forever but then we learn that the grandpa moved in the 90’s so which is it? She also says that Jodi is dating someone but then they say that they’re married. Again, which is it? Don’t include plot points that you can’t remember later on.

Overall, this book kept me engaged which is why it’s a 3 and not 2 star, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to read it.

This book had a really good story but they mc felt wrong for each other and the slow burn was a lack of chemistry. The rest of story was great the flashbacks to their younger self was so cute

Spring Fling is a second chance romance between Mylie, a small business owner in Clay Creek and Ben who returns to Clay Creek to sell his families home. Ben and Mylie were best friends from 6th to 12th grade and Ben left for college and never looked back. Ben returns to sell his families home so that he can start a new life in Boston as a professor like he's always wanted. Ben and Mylie get to know each other again, will they be able to find a way to stay together this time?

This book was a sweet and fun southern romance. There were multiple storylines that popped up at the end of the book that weren't necessary or didn't further the plot. It was enjoyable and I loved that Mylie was such a strong FMC and the supporting cast of characters really made this book. Recommend if you enjoy a small town second chance romance!

Thank you HarperCollins and NetGalley for the ARC!

I enjoyed this book, as a light romance read. I felt like a third of the way it started getting harder to read, and had to take breaks in between to get a fresh set of eyes on it. It does feel like a lot of story lines coming together, and it’s hard to keep track with the flashback sequences.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the dual timeline (past flash backs/present day). Normally I don’t care for those types of books. But I liked this one. This is a friend to lovers romance and I enjoyed it very much! I’ll definitely be looking for more books by this author.

Spring Fling is about our FMC Miley who grows up in Caleb’s Creek, Arkansas and she owns a bait shop in town after her grandmother’s initial idea. Her childhood best friend, Ben leaves Caleb’s Creek after high school and they fall out of touch. Fast forward to the present and he comes back to sell one of his family’s houses due to a promise he made his mom.

Spring Fling was a great overall small town, friends to lovers, cozy read. I loved the side characters throughout the book especially the town raccoon Fat Tony. Throughout the book there were a few inconsistencies that I hope for some of the feedback the editor will take into consideration. Jodie was misspelled multiple times throughout the book and then she was referenced to having a boyfriend at the Sadie Hawkins dance then a husband towards the end of the book.

There was also the trope of miscommunication which I typically don’t care for in books and in the end I found this quite annoying. I also wish there had been more of an epilogue to tie everything together.

Overall, Spring fling was an easy read one that just makes you want to finish the book. I really loved how Annie made you feel like you knew her characters in her book. I look forward to reading more by her

Overall, I really enjoyed this book! It’s a super cute friends-to-lovers/second-chance rom-com that really pulls you in. The dual timeline worked well, giving us a chance to see how Mylie and Ben’s friendship evolved in the past before Ben left after graduation. We get the second-chance romance unfolding in the present, with flashbacks to the moments when their friendship turned into something more.

The romance progression was sweet, though I wish it had been a bit more fleshed out. At times, it felt a little rushed, especially in the beginning when their feelings started to resurface. A bit more time spent on their emotional development would have made the love story even stronger.

One of my favorite parts was the side characters—especially the furry ones! Fat Tony, the chubby raccoon, was an absolute highlight. He added such fun and charm to the small-town setting, giving the book an extra layer of humor and heart.

While there were a few elements that fell flat, such as some unnecessary side storylines, overall, I’d still recommend this book. Despite the dreaded miscommunication trope playing a major role (which can be frustrating), I did enjoy the ending.

The premise of Mylie and Ben being best friends in high school who secretly harbored feelings for each other was engaging. After Ben left for college in Chicago, they lost touch for ten years—until now, when he's back in town. The small-town setting worked well with its quirky characters and antics, but the biggest issue I had was the lack of communication between the leads. Even when they finally confessed their feelings, there wasn’t enough effort made to resolve things, and Ben’s occasional unkind comments didn’t sit right with me.

Overall, though, this story has its charm, and the ending left me satisfied.

3.75/5

Overall, I really liked this book. It was a super cute friends to lovers/second chance rom-com. I liked the dual time line so we could see how the friendship progressed in the past prior to the MMC leaving after graduation. We get to see the second chance romance in the present with flashbacks to the past as they became friends and how both of their feelings began to change.

The progression of the romance was sweet, but I would have loved to see it fleshed out just a little more. It seemed a little rushed at first.

I also really like the side characters. Especially the furry ones like Fat Tony. Such a lovable menace.

There were some parts that fell flat, but overall I would recommend! I did really enjoy the ending as well.

Mylie and Ben were best friends in high school that both had feelings for each other they never told the other person. Ben left to go to college in Chicago and they lost touch. It's been 10 years and he's back. This story has some good things going for it. It's set a small town with some funny small town antics like a chubby raccoon named Fat Tony. The biggest problem with this book is the dreaded miscommunication trope. Ben and Mylie never communicated their feelings and when they finally did they didn't want to commit to changing the other person's mind. I also felt like Ben would say some really unkind unnecessary things. There were also several side storylines that were unnecessary.
