I just finished and it was a fun, fast-paced ride! The story moves quickly, which kept me hooked, and the mix of cute and steamy moments made it super entertaining. That said, the romance did feel a little too insta-lust for my taste. The female main character was fine, but I wish we had a bit more build-up and depth to really root for her connection with the love interest.

What I absolutely loved, though, were the side characters! They totally stole the show. The brother dynamic was especially great—funny, heartfelt, and just so well done. Honestly, I kept wanting more scenes with them because they added so much charm and personality to the story.

Overall, it’s a fun, light read with plenty of swoon-worthy moments, even if the romance itself felt a bit rushed. Definitely still worth it if you want a quick read.

My Funny Demon Valentine is a delightful mix of humor, spice, and supernatural charm. Aurora Ascher brings a fresh twist to demon lore, making them not just dark and brooding but also hilariously endearing. The lighthearted humor keeps the story engaging, while the chemistry between the characters adds just the right amount of heat. The romance is playful yet passionate, balancing the fun with some truly steamy moments.

While somewhat predictable at times, the witty dialogue and unique take on the paranormal romance genre more than make up for it. If you love a good laugh with your love stories (and don’t mind a little devilish mischief), this book is a great pick!

I really thought I was going to enjoy this book but it really wasn't for me. The pacing was weird and the characters were weak and under developed in my opinion. I think there was potential here but was overall a miss for me.

This book made me smile so much. It's sweet. It's spicy. It's fast paced and cohesive. There is great character development. All of the characters are unique, interesting, and diverse. And their interactions and dialogue all felt natural and unforced. Eva is lovable and fierce—a great combination of compassion, approachability, courage, and confidence. And Ash was so much fun—strong, masculine, and manly in every way possible, but sweet and doting when it comes to Eva. I also loved that he was a bit socially and emotionally awkward. So cute and endearing.

And—because, yes, there's more that I love—there are some very insightful gems of wisdom regarding relationships. It's fun finding insightful moments in something so light and playful.

Fun, fast, and empowering. A joy of a read.

This book was a refreshing surprise in my month! Normally, I read a lot of romantasy and this was an amazing contemporary romance which was a nice change.

This book is so easy to binge in a sitting or two because you will fall in love with Ash and Eva from page one. They have an amazing dynamic that made the book give me kicking my feet and giggling vibes. The plot was strong and yet still hilarious and steamy. If you’re looking for a refreshing change that will humor you AND have a great story, pick this up! I know I’ll be grabbing book two!

This was a good one! I have never read anything by Aurora Ascher prior, however my funny demon valentine was strong, romantic, tragic, funny, fantasy, all wrapped up into one. Can Ash and Eva end up together? You’ll have to read to find out. There’s so much in their way… brothers, curses…. Only time will tell.

Ash is a demon and Eva is a human, these types of relationships aren't supposed to work but no matter what happens Ash and Eva do their very best to be together. The fact that they had such good chemistry and that they loved the same music was a plus for sure.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The fact that Eva is the only one who can see through Ash's curse is absolutely beautiful, everyone has that one person who just seems to see the real them, inside and out. The fact that Eva can't figure out if see really saw the guys in their demon forms or if she was hallucinating was a funny inner monologue for me because who in their right mind wouldn't think they were going crazy?

Plus, once the cat is out of the bag about them actually being demons Eva was worried that Ash was only into her because she could see through his curse, which is totally understandable because who wouldn't think that when you find out that you are the only person who can see his true beauty.

Mist can just go on somewhere, let everyone be happy. I never thought a safe place for 4 demons would be Eva's mothers' place. I really hope things turn out good for Eva's mother because she is such a wonderful character and deserves a good ending.

Hmm… I wanted to like this …… fantasy, demons, romcom,…. But I didn’t. Not enough action and depth, very undeveloped characters, thank you to #netgalley and the publisher for an ARC.

With its irrepressible mix of humor, romance, and supernatural intrigue, My Funny Demon Valentine is a delicious beginning to the Hell Bent Series. This novel introduces us to a demon trying to make his way through the mortal world and a fiercely independent woman whose life took a surreal turn after meeting him.

A powerful demon of lust, now invisible to human eyes thanks to a witch's curse, Asmodeus is taken on an outing to a nightclub by his brothers, where he finds Eva, a violinist/DJ whose music unexpectedly stirs something in him.

Eva had fought the career and personal demons, literal and figurative, until she saw Asmodeus watching her performance and inevitably was drawn into the mystery that shrouded him. Their accidental meeting entangled her in supernatural threats, hidden identities, and budding romance against all statutes of their worlds-until they fell out.

With each day, they draw closer, and the chemistry gets undeniable; neither Asmodeus's curse nor Eva's mortal life could have prepared him for this. A tale wrought with humor, danger, and heartwarming moments, churning into one big cliffhanger-just what will be needed to beg a reader for the book's sequel.

Asmodeus (Ash):
Asmodeus is just so intriguing, this anti-hero bringing with him a sense of suave from a reformed demon and the vulnerability of a man longing for attachment. His curse has him shut down emotionally, while Eva's music and spirit unleash a softer side. Growth is obvious, as he moves from self-pity to courage-to be a protector and partner.

Eva:
Eva is the breath of fresh air-vivacious and determined in this story. Her love for music and a well-grounded personality contrast so well with the chaos Asmodeus brings into her life. Eva's curiosity and compassion drive her deep into finding the truth about Ash and herself despite the very extraordinary circumstances.

Side Characters:
That's a nice dynamic he shares with his brothers: Asmodeus, Belial, Mephistopheles, and Raum-all with their own personalities, which further enrich the story by their friendship and sometimes their conflicts.

Eva and Asmodeus share a relation couched in humor, passion, and respect toward one another. While the position of Asmodeus, being cursed, makes him dominant, Eva's empathetic abilities even out the playing field. Their relationship morphs from one of curiosity to deep affection-not without much playful jocularity and showcasing of weaknesses.

This novel looks at love crossing boundaries set by society and even supernatural ones, putting much emphasis on acceptance and trust.

Asmodeus's growth from a cursed demon to a caring partner leads to self-discovery and salvation.

Music with Eva metaphorically acts as the bridge between her and Asmodeus, a metaphor reflecting the potential that art possesses in transforming two worlds.

Family ties between the brothers of Asmodeus impress the bonding between siblings despite everything going against their bonds.

Aurora Ascher's writing is so witty and evocative; it married humor and poignancy with effortless ease. Full of sharp humor and sarcasm, the dialogue was great. The tension and levity go in and out throughout the narrative, keeping readers on their toes. The music and the paranormal elements inside the story were described with vividness.

My Funny Demon Valentine is an outstanding blend of romance, comedy, and dark fantasy. This is a series starter that would make readers curious enough about the characters and their arcs in the Hell Bent Series. Unique with a humorous approach to paranormal romance. Relatable and well-developed protagonists. A heartwarming exploration of identity and belonging.

Perfect for readers who love Kresley Cole, Gena Showalter, and paranormal romantic comedy with just a little dark twist to it.

Overall Rating: ★★★★☆

World-Building: ★★★★☆☆

Trigger Warnings: There is some mild violence here, supernatural elements, and some explicit content.

Recommended for Readers who like paranormal romance blended with comedy, brought into being with vivid characters and new insights on love and salvation.

My Funny Demon Valentine is a much-needed respite into the world where love will be love no matter what and heaves the reader in anticipation to see what will be next in this series.

This story follows Eva who notices the demon she is not supposed to notice but there is someone after them. I really enjoyed this book. I never heard of these demons mentioned as it’s usually Lucifer or Satan but I loved Ascher showcasing the others. The setting was great and I was very interested in the world. We got some information of it but I believe we will get more throughout the series. I do have to say that I didn’t enjoy the pov writing style as it would be hard sometimes to figure out whose head you’re in. However, the main ones were Eva and Ash.

Eva is the FMC who knows something is missing from ger life but Ash has taken her attention and she wants to figure out what he is. I really enjoyed her chaarcter. She was strong and adventours however there wasn’t much of a development. Then we have Ash, the prince of hell, and I really liked his character. He had a great development and I enjoyed seeing him grow. There are many side characters in this book and I’m exciting to explore the other characters in this book. The romance is fated mates with a lot of steamy scenes. It was well done and I liked the chemistry between the MCs.

Overall, this book was great and I enjoyed this book. I’m excited to read book 2 and see how the story follows especially in Mist’s pov. He’s a character that I’m sure will be interesting. I recommend checking out this funny paranormal book.

This story didn't quite live up to my expectations, and left me feeling disappointed.

The writing felt forced and lacked originality, which made it harder to get invested in the characters or plot. The premise held a lot of promise, but it just fell flat.

I also felt a disconnect with the portrayal of our FMC as it made some elements described made me uncomfortable. It's always tricky when authors don't fully understand the cultural and lived experiences of the characters they're writing about, and that can lead to uncomfortable or inauthentic portrayals.

Whilst I did finish the book, I struggled to get through just on how the FMC was continuously described throughout the book.

Review: I have to admit that it took me a little to get into this one. It didn’t suck me in as quickly as I had hoped. The range of characters we meet are very intriguing and enjoyable. It really picked up about halfway through and it got pretty interesting. The smut hasn’t been overdone and is very tasteful (the piano scene… *chefs kiss*) and the whole ‘demon romance’ wasn’t cliché. The growth these demons have experienced in just one book is amazing and I cannot wait to see what happens next.

My Funny Demon Valentine by Aurora Ascher is the perfect balance of comedy and suspense. It is written in third person POV but with the pacing and dialogue, I hardly noticed.

Asmodeus, Ash, is a demon who is cursed with dulled senses and feels like what is the point. He and his brothers walk into a a Jazz bar and is is the moment everything changes for Ash. He see's a violinist, Evangeline, but he thinks there is no way she could want anything to do with him. When Eve has only eyes for him, it sets a series of event sin motion that call a Hunter from Hell, because a Demon and a Human is just not acceptable.

The witty banter had me cackling and kicking my feet. I loved every second of this book and am so excited for the rest of the series. Aurora has fast become an autobuy for me!

Four demons walk into a jazz club or An exploration of what it means to have a soul. 💜
My Funny Demon Valentine by @aurora.ascher.author has always been and remains one of my favorite series ever. You can't help by fall in love with these emotionally stunted demons who don't know it but are the epitome of Found Family. To watch them not think they're capable of love yet prove it in their actions over and over is one of my favorite parts of this novel.

Eva, our FMC, is a breath of fresh air, a confident grown ass woman with a beautiful relationship with her mom. She's a talented musician who notices Ash, our MMC, amongst a sea of faces in a crowded night club. What happens next is a journey of self discovery for both Eva and Ash. Can a demon without a soul actually love someone?

This book was so cute 😍

I liked the modern setting without it being too overpowering (no mention of Taylor Swift or tiktok, thank god). The characters are all likeable, even the bad guy funny enough, and everyone has distinct personalities and quirks.

I enjoyed the pacing of this story and found that everything wrapped up pretty nicely so that you could read this as a stand alone if you wanted, but there is enough linger intrigue to entice you to read on in the series.

My only gripe was that the pov flips and sometimes it would take a sentence or two to figure out who we were following at that moment.

Overall I had a really nice time with this read and would definitely look into reading the rest of the series in the future.

This was a really cute book! It was a different take on demons and how they interact with humans, and I really enjoyed the story. I liked learning about Ash and his brothers—Bel loving to cook was the best!—and then learning about Eva’s heritage. Ash and Eva are very cute together and I love that they are both musicians.
I hope that we’ll learn more about all of the brothers and see more of Eva’s parents in future books.

This is a perfect fit for readers who crave a wickedly funny, warm-hearted, and steamy romance with a dash of paranormal adventure, featuring themes of found family, love at first sight, and the thrill of discovering the unknown, all set against a backdrop of demons, bad boys, and music.

I had a great time reading this book, and that's really all I could ask for. The characters were likeable, the banter was adorable... the premise of the story felt unique and I was invested! Already ordered copies and have them on the shelf in my shop. Can't wait for my customers to read it so we can talk about it!

My Funny Demon Valentine, is the first book in the Hellbent series by Aurora Asher. in the book Ash and his brothers have escaped Hell,, and when we meet them, they’re at a Canadian nightclub. this is where the cursed Ash meets Eve the attraction is immediate, but soon after meeting a gorgoyle comes to get the runaways. it seems hell wants the brothers back, but they defeat the bounty hunter from Hell. during the fight, Eve sees the real ash, but this doesn’t stop her from wanting to be with him. One would think Demons tracking your every footprint would be enough stress, but it seems the the one woman Ash is obsessed with has secrets of her own. has Eve met her forever love or will Ash and his brothers be sent back to hell to suffer their punishment? I was looking so forward to reading this book and it’s not that I was disappointed because I found the book interesting minus the sex scenes which aren’t that long and you can just pass those up but I wish they would’ve had a better more structured origin story although I did appreciate the ones about the brother and ashes curse hopefully the future books outlines it better than it was in this one and so I say if you like paranormal love stories the new definitely like this book the sex scenes aren’t that detailed and they’re pretty fast from what I saw. I did not read all of them and I did like that Eve and Ash shared the love of music and so I definitely recommend it. #NetGalley, #KensingtonBooks, #AuroraAsher, #HellBent, #MyFunnyDemonValentine,
