It took me four days to finish this book because I kept putting it down since I disliked it so much.
I don't understand why it wasn't edited and formatted again with the re-release. It's mentioned a lot how the FMC is dark skinned with curly hair and a fat ass. And the MMC has long black hair. We get it. We see it. We don't need it mentioned so often.
The premise of the story was really enticing, but the story fell flat. I completely guessed what was happening from the beginning. Where was the plot twist? Where was I being sucked into the story and wanting to know more?
This could have been brilliant, but it fell flat from the very beginning. I won't be continuing the series.
Thank you to Kensington and NetGalley for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I had so much fun reading this book. It was exactly what I expected it to be - funny, crazy, AND hot.
The characters were so easy to like, and the demon brothers were such a fresh representation of the said creatures. Especially Ash was so amazing, but I'm totally invested in the stories of the other brothers as well. I'm very excited to read Bel's story, because I ship him with Naiamah so hard, although I have a feeling he's going to be paired with Eva's friend. I don't remember her name but she's the only character I hated for some reason.
The writing had me swooning at times, and sometimes finding myself laughing out loud in the middle of the night.
This said, the last couple of chapters felt rushed... I was more engaged until the middle, but once Eva found out the truth, I felt like I was running to catch up with the story and not really enjoying it much.
Another thing that I didn't enjoy was the POVs of the other characters, like Eva's parent's, or the Hunter's, or even Bel's.
This said, I'd definitely recommend reading this story if you're into paranormal fantasy romance.
Thank you for sending me the ARC.

Thankyou to Kensington Publishing for this gift.
Loved it! The perfect mix of tension, action and smut with an intriguing plot line.
Set in Canada, we have demons escaped from Hell, one of which has a curse making him "invisible" to potential sexual partners, just trying to live life on earth without causing trouble. They cross paths with unsuspecting human "Eva" who notices our cursed demon "Asmodeus" watching her play music at a night club. One thing leads to another and they are thrust onto the path of lust and danger.
The sexual tension was palpable, the plot line consistent and the slight tid-bits of information throughout gave the overall novel a mysterious feel.
A wonderful palette cleanser with more story to come!
4 stars 🌟

I thought Chapter 1 started the book off right when it was called The Beginning of a Bad Joke. After all, this book is marketed as funny, and I was looking for something a little more light hearted than the epic fantasy I've been reading. Except, the writing was not funny, and it felt underdeveloped. I don't know what the joke was meant to be and I didn't finish reading the book to get to the punchline. This book was mildly entertaining, and is perfect for a reader who is looking for a light fantasy where the characters just want to have a good time.
It had the idea of a great story. The synopsis caught my attention, and I truly was interested in reading this book. However, the writing drove me absolutely crazy. Every time I would read a line and then have a thought in my mind that someone really wouldn't say or think like that, the characters would say or think it to themselves. It was like having my thoughts on the page. It felt as if the author knew this to be the case and was attempting to argue her point of view while writing the book. I mean, we know men can have long hair, and if he wanted to cut it, he could.
I forgave the author when I read about how hot the demon was for half a page. Then it became a overwhelming topic in the book. How many times, and in how many different ways, can a woman call a man/demon hot? It was almost believable at the beginning, as the character couldn't believe that he was attracted to her, and she needed to explain why, and then it got annoying by the 6th chapter.
"Her entire female reproductive system lit up like a carnival parade. Like she had a freaking 'Turn me on!' button on her forehead for a ride that only he could operate."
Underneath all of the similes and figurative language written all over the page, there were moments that had me captivated and wanting to read more. Eva was right in questioning what she saw, and then all of that would evaporate once she saw him again. I need to read books with female characters that are a little stronger in their resolve to make the story more believable.
I tried to give it more time to see if the characters' thoughts would evolve, but finally gave up around 20% of the way through reading. This book was not for me. I did not do a review of this book online because I did not like this book, and don't want to discourage others from reading it, as the writing style may be more for them.

3.5 ⭐ 2.5 🌶️
I think had this been a little more condensed I would have loved it, but I struggled to get through a few parts despite really enjoying the story as a whole. The characters were fantastic and the premise was a lot of fun with a couple fantastic twists. I'd recommend giving the audio a go if you listen to books, it may help if you're an ADHD reader who gets easily distracted like myself.
I absolutely adored these characters. Eva's mom was a doll, I can't wait for Bel's story (I love a broken boy so much) and really all of the stories to come. Aurora did an amazing job with the banter and, um, naivity? sheer ignorance? 😂 of the demons earth knowledge. They were all adorable and I am so excited for more of this world.

I dove into this book with high hopes, but sadly, it didn't quite capture my heart. I made it to about 10% before realizing it wasn't the right fit for me. The writing style and pacing didn't resonate, and I found myself struggling to stay invested.
No hard feelings, though! I know how much love and effort goes into writing a book, and I appreciate the author's courage in sharing their work. Maybe this one just wasn't meant for me, and that's okay.

While the premise of this story originally excited me, the author’s execution of it left me with a lot to be desired.
Eva, a musician, meets Ash, a demon, at a Canadian club. The two have insta-lust for one another. There’s just two big problems: Eva has no idea what Ash really is, and Ash isn’t supposed to be on earth. Shenanigans ensue.
I was not a fan of the writing style, the forced yet gaudy conversations, what felt like a largely unedited first draft, and the overall feel of this book. I understand I’m in a minority here based on other reviews I’ve read, but I will not be continuing with the series.
I was slightly uncomfortable with the white author’s presentation of a black female lead.
The plot of the story was not original, nor was it told in any way that felt inspired. Demons gonna demon, right? For me, the four male leads of the story were not well-rounded. Their banter was childish. They did not manage to capture my interest.
All good stories have the mechanics that get them from start to finish. There was little mystery to be found in this book about what would happen next. Everything was too convenient. There were no plot twists, and the end of the story left room for spinoffs, but ultimately did not get me interested in pursuing them.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the ARC of “My Funny Demon Valentine” in exchange for my honest review.

A Demon Prince of Lust finds himself falling for a musician who can see past his curse... too bad him and his brothers are being hunted and his new love might have more secret than either of them realize. Asmodeus, Prince of Hell, or rather Ash, dreams about making music and when him and his other demon prince brothers escape to earth its the perfect chance for him to explore. Ash is a Demon of Lust yet his curse prevents anyone from seeing or being interested in him... until he ends up at a club where a gorgeous jazz musician sees him, actually sees him and takes an interest. Eva is a normal girl who has been spending her days working at a jazz bar and playing gigs on weekends, what she doesn't expect is that her new possible boyfriend can turn into a seven foot tall demon with wings... oh and happens to be a literal demon who is being hunted by other demons. For a Demon, Ash is surprisingly sweet and charming and his brothers are fun and caring... but can a Demon really be in love and can Ash and his brothers escape being Hell's most wanted? This is the first book in a series and this was a surprisingly cute and funny rom com with a bit of spice and hilarious moments. The banter and vibe of the book was just a fun time. The characters were fun to get to know and I loved meeting Ash and his brothers and am excited to read each future brother's romance book! The romance is fun to read in this and if you love a paranormal demon romance, absolutely pick this up!

This is a light-hearted and fun read 🥰 I liked Eva and the demons were pretty funny and the SPICE?! 👀 I’ll definitely be reading the other books in this series

This was such a fun book I am giving it a 4.25. I will admit, it did start a little slow for me but only the first 25%. As the book progressed, it just got more and more entertaining. It had action, betrayal, steam, comedy and heart not just with the main characters but the side characters as well. I think the part I enjoyed most was how these demons are obviously evolving and don't really recognize it but are still trying to change but it really made for some funny moments that showed them how clueless they are. Like when Asmodeus starts to feel well feelings and he is trying to describe them to Evangeline and reading to him describe them and how clueless he was something I found really funny. Like this group of demons who call each other brothers but say we r demons so we don't actually have feelings for one another, but you can see they obviously care for one another and are a real family was funny and heartwarming. I also liked the author's message is that art can affect the soul of people and just like art evolves so can people and that the author didn't limit what could be termed "art" such as one of the demons talks about how he likes cooking but that isn't art but was corrected by Eva's mother that it was.
This is a book with a lot of POVs but it didn't feel overwhelming but rather really added to the story and my liking of a lot of the characters that makes me really excited for future books because I want their stories too because I am really invested in them as characters.
I really liked the chemistry and relationship between Eva and Asmodeus because even when his curse was lifted in his overwhelmed moments of other women he turned to her. All he really wanted when his curse was and was not in effect was to be with his brothers (though he denies it) and to be with Eva especially if they could be making music together and the fact, they had that to bond over was really sweet.
Overall, I enjoyed the book, the characters (the side characters almost stole the show especially at the end) and I am excited for the next book as well.
This book is about Eva who goes one night to a bar for a night out and meets a really hot guy, Asmodeus. But things get crazy, and they have to run out of the bar but then Asmodeus goes back to help his brothers. Well Eva decides to follow him back inside to make sure he is okay. And what she sees gives her the shock of a lifetime because there is no way what she saw is real. She has to be hallucinating right....?
The thing is that there is more to Asmodeus than what meets the eye. He is actually a Prince of hell and a lust demon who has escaped hell because he is just done with it all because the rules and expectations to being a demon just don't feel right anymore. So off to earth with his brothers to live without the rules of hell and discover who they really are. Which for Asmodeus, all he wants is to be left alone and just play music in peace, jazz music specifically. But then he is dragged out to a bar by his brothers he meets a beautiful violinist, who surprisingly sees him and wants to be around him as well. Why is that surprising for a lust demon? Well, he is under a curse that makes it impossible for him to experience his senses fully as well for other people to really see him. Makes for a lonely existence so you can imagine his Suprise when this little human can not only see him but likes him as well. While it may seem too good to be true, you can bet he is not letting this chance go even under the looming threat of hunters coming for them and dragging them back to hell.

A paranormal romance vom with good spice and witty banter, sign me up!
When a prince from Hell comes to Earth to have some fun and doesn't think anyone will notice but one human does what could go wrong. Such a funny book and perfect for anyone wanting to get into that Valentine's Day mood!
3.75 ⭐

Four very powerful demons escape Hell and head to Earth to have some fun. Asmodeus, the Prince of Hell and a lust demon, is cursed, and essentially cannot be seen and all of his senses are muted. While his brothers are on Earth to have fun and get laid, Ash knows that no one will notice him. Except someone does. Eva is a musician who just happens to notice an extremely gorgeous man in the bar she's performing at, and is shocked that no one else seems to be fawning over him. Moments later, she witnesses them all turn into their true demon forms. Why can Eva see Ash's demon form? Why isn't Eva affected by Ash's lust curse?
This book is told in third person POV, and from multiple POVs. Mostly from Ash and Eva, but there are other side characters that take their turn, which was confusing to me. It reads like first person, but it isn't. I think if this book was in first person, it would've made more sense to me and flowed better.
This is a paranormal romance that had some rom/com moments, lots of spice, witty banter, There are trigger warnings, due to violence, blood, and gore, so check the content warnings before reading.

This book was alright, definitely a lot of fun. I liked the aspects of the demons especially at the beginning figuring out how to act human
Definitely found family vibes.

This one is for the paranormal romance lovers!
This was filled with great characters, a steamy romance and lots of action/adventure. I had an absolutely blast reading this.
Eva and Ash were so cute! They were sweet & passionate. A perfect combination. I loved how they met too. Very unique.
The relationship between Ash and his brothers was a lot of fun. The banter between them was so funny.
Can't wait for another installment in the series! I would highly recommend this if you like paranormal or monster romances.

Ash is the prince of of hell but he just wants to play Jazz. He and his 3 brothers escaped to Earth and become the Underworld's most wanted. He meets a violinist, Eva, who likes him despite his curse.
The book is very fast-paced. Lots of twists and surprises. Ash and Eva are likable characters. The rest of Ash's brothers are fun... Really enjoy this book. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

I absolutely love stories that are a retelling, or take mythology or I suppose in this case also demonology? And then re-write a more modern take on those characters/stories.
My Funny Demon Valentine was my first monster romance read, and I have to say has me in love with the genre, and I cannot wait to read the rest of the books that are in the series. I don't know a lot about demon lore, so I felt that the author did a wonderful job of explaining just enough so that you could understand things that were actively going on within the story, but also keeps a lot sort of a mystery so that you can't wait for that next secret to unfold.
I enjoyed this story from the very start to the very last page, and love how the story opens with the demons going to a nightclub. I mean why wouldn't demons who are thousands of years old want to go hang out with humans at a club. It is just so amusing to think of seeing them stroll in together.
The main characters, Eva and Asmodeus or Ash, are such a cute, extremely unlikely couple. One of my favorite things about Ash is how much he enjoys playing and listening to music, again a demon who enjoys playing the piano. It is sweet and amazing in the story, and also amusing when you really think about it. And then Eva, the lucky one who can actually see Ash in all his glory, when almost all other women cannot. I knew that Eva was going to end up being some kind of special being, because there were hints throughout the story of her being special and a little different than the average human. I honestly did not in anyway expect the reveal of what we learn she is, yet at the same time it makes so much sense once you learn of her secret.
Ash's demon "brothers", Belial, Meph, and Raum, I love each one of their characters, honestly probably a little more than Ash. Belial is my favorite, and I hope he gets a story at some point (I don't see one for him yet in the series!), I actually love the fact that he is a fallen angel, King of Hell, but escaped hell to come to earth, and is so protective of the other demons. Meph is so funny, the "immature" one so to speak as he is the youngest. And then Raum, lover of animals and especially house cats, it is so cute to imagine a big demon carrying around a cat.
There is so much action, comedy, and excitement in this story, I couldn't put it down. I love all the mythology, and the modern day take on these demons. I really loved the way the author wrote this book, you were always aware that these demons are well, demons, but at the same time can act very human like, and do the funniest things, while also being serious and basically spend the entire book hiding or running for their lives.
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
Thank you so much to Kensington, the author, and Netgalley for a review copy of this book!

The book does it best, starting with what seems to be a bad joke set-up, "Asmodeus, Belial, Bephistophelese, and Raum walked into a smoky nightclub..." The demon princes have made their escape from hell, and their Earthly destination of choice: a jazz club in Montreal. Asmodeus has been cursed, causing him to be invisible to anyone that could be attracted to him and leaving him with no use of his senses, save for hearing. Imagine his surprise when a beautiful jazz musician not only spots him, but is seemingly very interested in making beautiful...music together.
What follows is an exciting story of music, demon-hunting, angels (of the Heavenly and Fallen demeanors), cross-country teleportation, and love (romantic, brotherly, parental- if there's love, its here)! I loved the character development of not only our main pals Eva and Ash, but all of Ash's brothers and Eva's mother. The jumps of POVs were a great way to create the full story!
Thanks so much to Aurora Ascher and NetGalley for a chance to read this in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely adored this book, it was just as silly and enjoyable as the synopsis seemed. I loved the chemistry between our two MC’s and I think I spent a good half of the book outright giggling. This is the perfect read for this time of year.

Paranormal romance like this is still pretty new to me, I have ready a few but I am still pretty new to any books with any shape shifting of any variety. Especially the demon kind. However, I didn't hate it, I liked it. The book left me wanting more. Even though this story was pretty well wrapped up I want to know the story behind the next character because he was definitely....interesting.....and i think there is a lot of story there to tell.
I think having a lust demon who has been cursed to basically be invisible to anyone that would have otherwise been attracted to him was a great spin and I liked when It switched to his viewpoint and he was trying to understand or describe feelings that he has no understanding of.
There were a couple times when it switched to the POV of a character that was not one of the main characters, which yes, gave some more details to the storyline you would not have known of otherwise but generally I if they overall aren't a significant main character i wonder if there is another way to include the information.
overall i enjoyed the book and i will definitely be reading the next one!

This book gave me quite a few giggles!
This was a pretty cute palette cleanser type of book. Not my favorite types, but fun to read every now and then.
I liked all the characters. They all had some good and bad about them, but they definitely all made me laugh!
There were quite a few spice scenes, but that just makes sense when you're dealing with a Lust Demon...er, EX Lust Demon... I really liked how Ash had the curse on him from the angel, it just added to the story instead of making him a generic demon.
If you like romcoms a bit spicy and want a bit of demon monsters, pick this book up! Especially since the new paperback has such cute edges! I read this in a little less than a day.
Read if you love:
-Funny banter
-Demons and angels
-Rom com
-Spice
-Musically inclined characters
Thank you to Netgalley for the eARC. My thoughts are entirely my own.
