Excellent addition to Klein's Poppy McAllister cozy mystery series. It's fun and interesting, there's a mystery or two to solve, definitely romance in the air, enough outdoor Christmas decorations to be seen from space, an unrepentant Figaro picking all the birds from Poppy's tree, and an engagement ring no one is claiming. Plus there's never a dull minute when Aunt Ginny and her ladies are around.
I'm always guaranteed a good time when I read this series.
Many thanks to Kensington Publishing and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation.

With the Holidays and two mysteries going on at the same time, Poppy, Aunt Ginny and The Biddies are quite busy. First when an engagement ring is found at the B&B after a party, everyone is a Twitter asked you which one of the men is planning to propose to his beau. Then, a body is found with Poppy’s name on it. and at her ex’s restaurant no less.
With a plan in place to figure it out who wants to put a ring on it, that leaves Poppy to finger a killer. Can Poppy solve the mystery, or will she never know who that was for?
I love the dynamics between, Aunt Ginny, and the whole gang. Having grown up in New Jersey, it visit to Cape May brings back so many memories. I’m going to the shore in my childhood. And then characters bring back memories of my own family and dear Aunts and their friends. For me, this series is not only awesome, but it’s also also a means of bringing back memories from long ago. An awesome and well written mystery in each and every entry.

Not much is silent in the ninth installment in Klein's Poppy McAllister series. Filled with delightful characters and decorations that would rival the Griswold's display, this is a perfect story to get readers ready for the holiday season. It's fun to sleuth along with Poppy, and there are ample twists to keep readers engaged. While part of a series, this could be read as a standalone novel.

There's very little silence in the ninth Poppy McAllister mystery, "Silent Nights are Murder," and that's a very good thing. Poppy has to contend with the reappearance of her long-lost mother, her great-aunt Ginny's over-the-top holiday decorations, and being sent undercover to her ex-boyfriend's restaurant to help find a killer. On top of this, she's trying to resolve a generations-old feud between families and who the engagement ring found in the last book actually belongs to. Not to mention, she has an inn to run. Her plate's overfull.
But Poppy somehow manages all this with her typical humor and grace. Poppy should be irritating, because she has so few boundaries, and the ones she does, she allows people to walk all over. As Gia points out, though, he loves her because of her big heart and her generosity to others, and I think that's what makes this all work.
The various mysteries are juggled very well, and none of the plotlines detracts from the others. Poppy's chosen family loves her as much as she loves them, and that support is a big help when she has to come to terms with her mother's neglect. I was so proud of Poppy by the end of this book!
I'm not a visual person, but even I would love to see the holiday display on the inn's front lawn. I suspect it can be seen from space, just by the description.
Why you should read this book: You should not only read this one, you should read the other eight, too. This series is so well-written, with such wonderful characters and great relationships, that you might want to move "down the shore."
Why you might not want to read this book: If you've been frustrated by Poppy allowing pretty much everyone to walk all over her, you won't find any relief until close to the end of the book, and even then, it's limited.
I received an advance copy from Kensington via NetGalley, in exchange for my honest review.
4.5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended.

Silent Nights are Murder by Libby Klein is the first book that I have read in A Poppy McAllister Mysteries (it is the ninth A Poppy McAllister Mystery). I had trouble getting into the story and figuring out the characters. I believe it would have been better if I had read Class Reunions are Murder first which would have oriented me with the characters and setting. After I began the first chapter, I wondered if I was reading a romance novel instead of a cozy mystery. It appears all the ladies have a beau, and they are curious as to who lost an engagement ring at the bed and breakfast (and they are determined to find out). The whodunit begins in the next chapter which I thought was a little early. Poppy, of course, spots clues that the police officers on the scene missed. The mystery is one where you need to suspend your disbelief a few times (I rolled my eyes more than once). The whodunit took a backseat to the other storylines. There is a lot going on in Silent Nights are Murder (enough for two books. There is one item that did not make sense nor was it fully explained. I liked the Christmas feel including the over-the-top decorations (I bet the lights could be seen from the International Space Station). Figaro is quite a character, but I would never let him near my Christmas tree or decorations with feathers. Silents Nights are Murder had a cheerful and satisfying conclusion that will please fans of the series.

I always enjoy returning to this charming series featuring protagnist Poppy McAllister. This is the ninth in series and a exciting Christmas addition to the series.
Poppy is busy planning the Christmas season and decorating the tree with her Aunt Ginny. They are trying to solve a mystery of a engagement ring left at the B&B with no note. Her aunt has asked her to investigate a old diary and find out what the hidden meanings are in the diary. Poppy is content to run her business, study the diary and plan Christmas without another murder occuring. Poppy is a savvy investigator alway finding clues but she is tired of finding bodies. She hopes for a peaceful Christmas season.
When her ex finds a body at his restaurant the corpse comes with a note to Poppy. She is drawn into the murder by the police and soon has to go undercover to find clues and possible suspects. Her adorable cat Figaro is mischievous throughout and stealing ornaments off the tree adding humor. The sleuth was fun and I did not guess the outcome.
This is a fun addition to the series and a pleasing Christmas theme read. Thank you to the publisher, Net Galley and the author for the opportunity for review.
My review opinions are my own.

Silent Nights Are Murder is the 9th book in the A Poppy McAllister Mystery series. Poppy has a way of being involved whenever a dead body is found. This time there is a note on the body that says Get Poppy on it.
But before the dead body being found Poppy and her friends find an engagement ring in a box at Thanksgiving with no way of knowing who it is for!
But now the dead body needs to be solved as to what happened and that will answer why Poppy’s name was on the body. I enjoy the twists and turns Libby Klein tosses into the story.
This is a very good cozy mystery series that I will recommend to other readers.
Thank you NetGalley, Libby Klein and Kensington Publishing for the copy of Silent Nights Are Murder. This is my personal review.

Silent Nights Are Murder is book #9 in the Poppy McAllister Mystery series by Libby Klein.
The holidays are not a time of rest for Poppy McAllister. She is drawn into a murder investigation and a mystery from her Aunt Ginny regarding an old diary. This was full of likable (mostly) characters and a great locale. There were plenty of twists to keep me guessing until the end. I enjoyed the humor and I recommend this book.
Thank you to the author, Kensington Books, and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

With Silent Nights Are Murder, the ninth book in Libby Klein's A Poppy McAllister Mystery, you get what you expect of any Libby Klein novel, an excellent read with lots of hilarious fun and heartfelt moments. This one offers several wonderful twists for Poppy that had me cheering which help balance the fact that Tim, her ex-boyfriend, and the woman who has been chasing him are in back in her life and not in a good way. It looks like Gigi managed to catch him although it is not clear whether or not she can keep him. They turn to Poppy for help when they become the prime suspects in a murder. Naturally, Gigi's attitude does not change just because she is in Poppy's debt. Tim is the same nice but weak guy he has always been. Gio sure looks great, especially compared to Tim. I love that Poppy has Gio and Henry in her life; they both love her with no reservations and since she will never be able to have her own child, Henry fills an important spot in her heart. The crazy antics of the biddies and a few others keep the overall story light, and the holiday preparations add a lovely touch until Aunt Ginger's competitive spirit takes things too far, as always.
My thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for allowing me to read and review this wonderful book. Silent Nights Are Murder was a pleasure to read.

Wow, this book is packed with action! It has everything from an extortionist and miniature crime scenes to an antique diary and shark fins. Plus, there’s a surprise visit from a mother, a mysterious engagement ring and, of course, a murder. The Poppy McAllister Mystery series has always been fantastic, but this installment is truly exceptional. With so much happening, it all comes together seamlessly, keeping you glued to the pages as you try to unravel the mysteries.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I think I’m Poppy’s biggest fan, and I anxiously await each and every new installment in the series. I wholeheartedly believe that author Libby Klein has a genuine gift for making people laugh as well as keeping them intrigued and investigating right along in their armchairs! Silent Nights Are Murder was everything I wanted it to be and then some!!! Ex-boyfriend Tim needs Poppy’s help stat when a (gasp!) dead body is found in his freezer so Poppy, Aunt Ginny, Figaro, and the rest of the gang have to (comically, of course!) work together to figure out whodunit! 10 stars!!!

This is the best series going, in my book. I immediately fell back in love with Poppy and her gang. The humor, great character development in each installment, and clever story lines will keep me coming back as long as Libby Klein continues writing this story. I love the fullness of Poppy’s world.
Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for granting access to a digital ARC upon my request.

An entertaining cozy mystery. Romance, holiday antics, murder, and so much more are in this story. Delightful characters along with a cat a dog add fun. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

Poppy and Aunt Ginny are trying to figure out who will be receiving the engagement ring found after Thanksgiving. Poppy gets a call, A dead body has her name on it. She doesn't know the dead guy, but he's found in Tim's walk in at his restaurant. Poppy is talked into figuring out what happened. Between her mother showing up after 35 years, the competition for decorating the outside of the house, the engagement mystery and her regular baking, Poppy is pushed to do it all. So much happens in this book! There is humor, joy, tenderness and fun. Love these characters and all the shenanigans they get themselves involved in! A great read that will leave you satisfied.

For long time fans of the series, this will quickly become their favorite book. All the zany and lovable characters are back. Who doesn’t melt when Gia speaks Italian to Poppy or when sweet Henry is so happy to see her. Let’s not forget goofy aunt Ginny. She and her biddies provide so many laugh out loud moments. In between the sweet and laughing moments, the author provided an interesting mystery and some peaks into Poppy’s past. The writing was written so well that you could see the Christmas lights, hear Bruce Springsteen sing Santa Clause is Coming to Town, and smell the Christmas baking. The ending was so satisfying; happiness and laughter. It doesn’t get any better.

Love this series. As always, Poppy is always caught up in sleuthing. This time it is a murder at her ex boyfriend's restaurant. A body is found in the freezer and Tim as asked for help amateur sleuthing. Poppy picked Gia and his son Henry over Tim who got involved with his partner GIgi, who is pregnant and ready to pop. In this story Poppy's mother comes to stay at the Inn. Poppy is trying to figure out the curse of people in her family finding bodies. Also Gia proposes to Poppy and she says yes, but everyone tries to plan the wedding and that is not what she wants. This Gia's takes control . Does Henry get his secret Christmas wish. A GREAT Christmas Cozy.

Silent Nights Are Murder is the next installment in the Poppy McAllister cozy mystery series. I absolutely LOVE this series. In Silent Nights Are Murder, Poppy is hoping to enjoy a quiet, cozy Christmas with her Aunt Ginny and friends at their charming B&B in Cape May. However, when a body is discovered with Poppy's name pinned to it, her holidays are anything but peaceful. Moreover, the body happened to be found in the freezer at her ex's restaurant. Now, Poppy is asked to unofficially go undercover at her ex's restaurant in order to investigate this latest death. To add even more chaos to her Christmas, Poppy's estranged mother shows up after 35 years. Poppy's Christmas is sure to be anything but a silent night.
Just to emphasize, I so thoroughly enjoy this series. I particularly love the characters. Aunt Ginny and Figaro are my favorites. Aunt Ginny continues to get into mischief in Silent Nights Are Murder; this time around, her schemes involve Star Wars Christmas decor, singing nativity scenes, and possibly real-life penguins. The mystery is intriguing with a long list of suspects. I enjoyed Poppy going undercover at her ex's restaurant. It added quite a lot of drama. While there was a lot going on in this book, everything was resolved by the end, and I was completely satisfied. I hope there are plenty more books in this series! Easy five stars!

I received a free copy of, Silent Nights Are Murder by Libby Klein, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book nine in The Poppy McAllister Mystery Book series. Poppy has a few mysteries to solve this holiday season, who killed a fish monger and her aunt has a mystery she wants solved too. This is turning out to be quite a busy holiday season for Poppy. I enjoyed reading about Poppy and her mysteries to solve, and I really enjoyed the recipes at the end of the book!

The whirlwind addition to the Poppy McAllister mystery series is book nine, #Silent Nights Are Murder by Libby Klein. It is always a pleasure to return to the Jersey Shore and visit with Poppy, Gia, Henry, and Ginny. There are a few characters who cause problems and they are back in force. Luckily Poppy is laid back enough to handle all the chaos of the holiday season, Aunt Ginny's crazy yard decoration war with the lady across the street, her ex and his girlfriend, and going undercover to help find the latest killer. I loved every hilarious minute!
Of the many reasons I so enjoy this series the character's relationships with each other is my favorite, followed by the well crafted mystery. There is more suspense in this book to go along with the twists of the investigation. The humor keeps the feel-good holiday vibes going in even the tense moments.
Thank you to #NetGalley #KensingtonCozies #LibbyKlein for granting my request for an advance reader copy. I recommend this to all my cozy reader friends and those who love humorous reads.
--------------COMING SEPTEMBER24,2024----------------------------

"Silent Nights are Murder (A Poppy McAllister Mystery #9)" by Libby Klein has reminded me how much I like this series. If you like cozy mysteries with sassy senior sidekicks and mischievous pets, you get both in this series. It's Christmas time for Poppy and her B&B full of helpers. Her aunt is in a bake off and yard decor battle with the neighbor lady. Her cat is constantly walking around the house sporting Christmas tree decor. Oh, and her mother that had been gone for 35 years showed up under a fake name.
While all of that is going on a body is found with a sign requesting that the police get Poppy. The kicker, they were found in her ex-boyfriend's restaurant. Poppy grudgingly goes "undercover" to help figure out what happened.
There were several moments that had me laughing out loud. There were also moments that had me go, "Ha! I knew something was up with them!" Just an overall great cozy mystery.
