Wow, just wow. Fitz and Jamie have something incredibly special, I adored every page of getting to know them. The set up, the relationship building, The twist, it was all done incredibly well. I had my suspicions of what would be revealed but it was so much more heartbreaking than I had prepared myself for. There were some really beautiful moments and some really gut wrenching ones that made the story so much more real.
As the first in a new series I'm beyond excited for what’s to come if they’ll be anything like this one. It’s spicy, it’s sweet, it’s 100% unputdownable. If you love age gaps, grumpy sunshine, roommates, and a hint of forbidden romance you will absolutely adore this one. I cannot recommend it enough.

I love a broody, tortured hero, and Jewel E. Ann served up a great one with Calvin Fitzgerald!
Jamie and Calvin start off on the wrong foot -- mainly because he's a broody a##hole and a grumpy loner. But little by little, she gets him to open up and he starts feeling things for her that have him running scared. As different as they were, these two characters just *got* each other. Both of them don't have much in the way of blood family, but rather their family by design in their friends, so they do have that in common. I loved going along for the ride as their barbs turned to flirty banter. But there's a housemate rule about not getting involved with a roommate -- plus Jaime, a traveling nurse, is only in town for a few months -- so anything developing between them threatens to be over before it really gets started.
There are some twists in this story that leads to a lot of angst. Jewel E. Ann always does a great job of delivering an angsty romance that will pull on your heartstrings, and From Air is no different. I was rooting for this couple from the start, and there are a lot of winding paths for Jamie and Calvin to travel. But at the end, From Air is a beautiful story of love, acceptance, overcoming tragedy, and so much more!
I wasn't ready to say goodbye to these two characters, as well as their friends, at the end of this story! But I did find some solace in knowing that this is the first book in a new series!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

I was a little hesitant to read the room mate trope. It’s not my favorite.
But I should have known better being a Jewel E Ann reader. This book is so much more than that. Jewel E Ann just has a way of writing these tropes and diving so much deeper. She’ll make you laugh, cry and swoon. Her stories will break your heart but her incredible characters will put it back together. Sorry I’ll never doubt you again.
If you love the forbidden roommate vibe, good banter, and a little twist to the story I believe you’ll love this one.

Wow talk about starting a new series with an absolute page turner of note !! From Air had me laughing, crying, broke me and put me back together. Jamie our determined, strong travelling nurse and Fitz a grumpy, damaged smoke jumper set my kindle alight with the chemistry, passion, love and healing.
Jamie first meets Fitz when she moves in with him and two of his friends. Just one "rule" - roommates are out of bounds !! So despite the instant fizz between them, they did resist which results in some whitty banter. Forbidden love is always something to push against and Jamie loved pushing Friz's buttons, whilst slowly digging into the layers he had kept so well hidden.
Jamie and Fitz's journey takes them both to places neither could have imagined going. The emotions of past traumas, grief and pasts best le3ft behind will tear you apart. But be prepared for twists you won't see coming. I am totally sold on this series and cannot waqit to see where it goes.

This is my first book from Jewel & WOW! This one had a plot twist, I definitely didn’t see coming!! I was just expecting a sweet, small town romance & got some angsty, twisted kind of soul mate type of romance. Jamie looses her mom & decides to take a job as a travel nurse, and her first stop is Montana. She moves in with a group of firefighters, with one main rule, no romantic relationships within the household. Two of her roommates are friendly, fun & open, while the other is standoffish, grumpy & closed off. Of course Jamie finds herself drawn to the grumpy Calvin Fitzgerald. She is a caretaker at heart & sees his closed of personality as hidden secrets & potential trauma. Calvin also finds himself drawn to Jamie, her big heart & sunshine attitude. They try to keep it platonic, but things definitely heat up & BURN! The plot twist definitely tests everything Jamie & Calvin believe in & their love for each other. I can’t wait to read more from Jewel!!
Thank you Jewel E. Ann, Valentine PR & NetGalley for the ARC & ALC!

This is the first in a new series and this is Jamie and Calvin / Fitz’s story.
Jamie is a psychiatric nurse who left her home to become a travel nurse in Montana, where she moves in with a house full of firefighters, who battle the fires in rural Montana. Calvin is a grumpy smoke jumper, who has demons, and the sparks fly between them when they meet.
This is a well written emotional roller coaster, with friendships, heartbreak, humor, witty banter, secrets, grumpy / sunshine, opposites attract, mystery, intrigue, suspense, revelations, palpable chemistry, challenges, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, and unpredictable page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

5 STARS
If the show Sky Med and Fire Country had a baby and it turned into a book, it would be this one. I love both Jamie and Calvin so much!! And their banter IS TOP TIER! I was LIVING for the moments that they would go back and forth. Actually laughing so many times and how these characters were brought to life, I mean the writing is just that good.
The way she makes you feel for them, their stories, their pain, all of it. Your heart bleeds for them.
I couldn’t put it down!
releasing November 26th (arc review)

Jaymes is leaving Florida on a new adventure to Montana after taking a position as a travel nurse. Calvin is a smoke jumper sharing a home with fellow firefighters, and now Jaymes since she just rented out their extra room for the next six months. A mutual attraction threatens to get them kicked out of the house, and a traumatic past threatens to ruin everything when Calvin can’t move forward from the things that haunt him. Secrets are revealed that might just blow up everything just when things start getting good for him.
If Jewel E. Ann writes it I’m going to read it!
Holy hotcakes did this book deliver every single thing I love in a book. A little frenemies to lovers, incredible banter, an incredibly broken but beautiful MMC and an FMC that’s a little lost but strong enough to find herself. Let’s not forget the passion and a mystery that had me with knots in my stomach as each and every twist l revealed more information on Jaymes’ past and threatened to ruin everything.

From Air is the first book in the new Wildfire series by Jewel E. Ann. It's a forced proximity (roommates), age-gap (10 years), grumpy/sunshine romance, and as usual with this author, it was fantastic! I absolutely loved Calvin (Fitz), a "jumper" with the fire department, and Jaymes (Jamie), a traveling nurse. Their banter was laugh out loud funny, and I loved Jamie's personality. They were truly each other's person. The whole story was amazing, and I can't wait for Maren's story! In the meantime, read this book! Highly recommended with way more than five stars!

This is a 6🌟 book. Easily one of favorite books of the year. Jewel, for writing this book and many other books that have ripped the rug out from underneath me in the best way, I hope you never ever see another red light for the rest of your beautiful life. Only green lights for you! 🥰
At this point, I haven’t read a book by Jewel that I haven’t loved. Most of the time, but not all of the time, once I get to the 85-90% mark in a book, I’m kind of anxious for it to just be over and I want to speed up the ending.. but with this book, it was the complete opposite. I NEVER wanted it to end. I will take this book with me for the rest of my life.
You know how to take of your own mental health, but in my honest opinion with this book, I think you should go into it completely blind and let it surprise you and captivate you the way it did for me.
I’m not even going to put the tropes in this review, because I think even those should be discovered as you read the book. It’s the best way, I promise.
The twists and turns will leave you breathless. The plot twists will come out of left field, and it will floor you.
I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK.
I absolutely need a copy of this book for my shelves and I will cherish that sweet baby for forever. ♥️

This is such an emotional book, but not in the traditional sense of a romance. Like all of Jewel’s books, expect the unexpected.
Fitz and Jaymes are roommates with such chemistry. Jaymes is the light to his darkness and he doesn’t want to dim her sparkle. And, there are roommate rules that prohibit any entanglements. But the draw between these two is too strong, even if they never really admit to having feelings for each other.
When things blow up, as they always do, this is definitely the couple that teaches you that the pain of love is worth it.
I totally recommend you go in blind to this one. Don’t spoil Jewel’s carefully crafted story, just go with the flow. You won’t be disappointed.

Not for me
I tried so hard to like this book as much as other reviewers did, but it just never clicked for me. I felt that the MC’s were immature for their age, the annoying teasing between Jaymes and Fitz was just cringy. It did get a bit better after a while in, but still not enough for me.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.
Jaymes Andrews is a travel nurse and she took a job in Missoula. She’s going to rent a room from Will, and will be sharing a house with him, along with his two friends, Maren and Calvin Fitzgerald.
Calvin is a grumpy smoke jumper. He prefers solitude over people. They have instant banter and undeniable chemistry. I loved how their relationship progressed. They were made for each other.
Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a smoke jumper, roommates romance then you’re going to love it.

Jaime has only lived in Miami. She has a best friend there, but since her mother died, Jaime has decided to become a traveling physiatry nurse. Her first stop is Bozeman, Montana. There she has 3 housemates. The rule is that they cannot have sex. Unfortunately, Jaime becomes infatuated with one of her housemates. He is a fire jumper - jumping from planes to fight wild fires. Because of his dangerous job, he has sworn never to have a love relationship. And he's 10 years older.
Jaime and Calvin do eventually develop a sexual relationship but they both know the rules. When Jaime's next assignment takes her to California, she is broken hearted. She isn't making friends there, but for one of her patients, who is criminally insane, and an elderly woman. But while there, Jaime learns a great deal about herself. Secrets that she never suspected are slowly unraveling.
Great story. Angst, love, secrets, and some very sexy scenes.

From Air by Jewel E. Ann is book 1 of the Wildfire series. This author knows how to write a book to give the reader all the feels. It breaks you and puts you back together again. The main characters, Jamie and Fritz provide the best banter and tension. You just know something is going to come for them and left me on the edge of my seat. The whole story is beautiful and I couldn't put this book down. It is definitely a story that gives the tears, steam, and angst. This author always leaves me wanting more and the books continues to live rent free in my head for days after I finish it. LOVE THIS BOOK AND SERIES!

I had no idea what exactly to expect from this book but I definitely didn't expect to CRY SO MUCH! Holy crap, you guys, this book was so emotional and so good! It was so different from anything I've read before but yet still had all the things I love in a good romance. And the twists??? I didn't know it was going to be twisty but it was and I totally didn't see them coming! I love a good twist! This was my first book by this author and I can't wait to go back and read more from Jewel!
Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the opportunity to read and review From Air.

𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐀𝐢𝐫 is the first book in the Wildfire series by Jewel E. Ann, featuring an emotional enemies to friends to lovers, close proximity romance for Jamie and Fitz. Jamie was a travel nurse who rented a room with three friends who work in different aspects of firefighting. They have one rule, though, no sleeping with the roommates. She can’t stop thinking about the grumpy smoke jumper Calvin aka Fitz. He’s an enigma with wounds and an aversion to relationships, but she loves to push his buttons. When the sparks fly between them, will they build something real or burn out just as quickly?
The world building was top notch with amazing characters and fun friendships that bring plenty of witty banter and a found family vibe. Jamie and Fitz were funny, Angsty, and hot. I love the will-they-or-won’t-they tension that built up before they embarked on their secret affair. If you know this author, you know to expect raw and gritty emotions and mind-blowing plot twists! I adore the way the plot lines were so intricately woven with emotions and surprises. I just wish the epilogue was a little further ahead, because I wasn’t ready to let them go!😉 I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!!

Jaymes “Jamie” Andrews has decided that it is time that she see more of the country and moves from Florida to Montana. Her job as a travelling nurse will give her the opportunity to explore and meet new people. The advertisement to move in with three firefighters made her feel safe, that was until she arrived and realized that she would be rooming in an outdoor “she shed” with no bathroom. Well, this was an adventure and the firefighters, Maren a female tanker pilot, Will the owner of the home and an engine chief and Fritz, a smoke jumper. There is one strict rule for the household, no fraternization among the members of the home. That is no problem for Jamie, especially with Fritz, as they immediately strike “sparks” off of each other. Will a trip out of town for Jamie and Fritz become the catalyst that will end the hostile relationship between them? How will they now hide their feelings for each other? The humorous, sometimes snarky and often laugh out loud hilarious dialog between Fritz and Jamie made this story so much fun to read, oh yeah, plenty of sparks between them! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

I received an ARC copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest voluntary review.
I loved the tropes for this book. The hero was a firefighter not to mention it's roommates to lovers. I truly enjoyed this story from start to finish. I will definitely read more from this author in the future

I've read many authors, but no one can evoke as many emotions in me as Jewel E. Ann. She is an absolutely amazing and talented storyteller who never ceases to amaze me with her unique stories. Her latest book, From Air, is absolutely perfect in every way and truly deserves all the stars!
From the very first page, I was completely hooked and couldn't get enough of Fitz and Jamie. The banter and humor between them were phenomenal, making me laugh out loud countless times. It's one of the best banter I've ever read. Their chemistry was off the charts. And, because this is Jewel E. Ann, you can expect plenty of angst, heartache, and plot twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
This author has a unique ability to balance everything so perfectly. Jamie and Fitz’s story is a blend of humor, passion, tension, heartache and emotions. A beautifully and perfectly written love story!
