Thanks to @berkleypub and @berkleyromance for the free ARC/e-ARC and to @prhaudio for the ALC!

This was my first foray into alien romance and I wasn’t sure what to expect! But I absolutely loved it. The story is zany and doesn’t take itself seriously. Within the first few chapters there’s a talking lion, stegosauruses with wool, and an alien with hooves. And it just gets more wild from there!

I loved Dory, the FMC. She had the right balance of tenacity and anxiety that you’d expect from someone who was abducted by aliens and dropped into a dinosaur inhabited jungle. And Sol and Lok, the two MMC were rich in personality. Different but both perfect for Dory. The spicy scenes (of which there were many!) were hot 🥵!! It’s the first why choose I’ve read where the FMC was treated with respect. She demanded to be an equal and they treated her as such.

The setting was so imaginative. I loved all the random things the author included. The AI generated billboards had me laughing out loud. And the plot, while very out there, made sense. I loved the ending.

I really enjoyed the audiobook. I thought the narrator really brought all the characters to life. Her pacing was excellent, and she really infused the voices with emotion.

Overall this is an excellent addition to both the monster romance and the why choose genres. Pick it up if you want something fun and spicy!

Hilarious, ridiculous, adventurous, fast-paced, and absolutely FILTHY (complimentary), I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com is such a joy. Kimberly Lemming is brilliant at crafting absurdist romances that, no matter how outlandish, you can't help but find yourself emotionally invested in them. I hope we get Blair's book next!

Kimberly Lemming is absolutely incredible at crafting lightheaded romcoms that always have a deeper message about the power structures in society. On the surface, this was a hilarious romcom about an abducted woman who finds herself mate-bonded to two rivaling aliens. She's got a talking lion friend, a pink dinosaur sniffing around, an owl-like alien intern obsessed with understanding humanity, and a planet so poorly crafted to suit her needs. At its core, though, it's a story about corporate greed, caring for the environment, and—of course—the power of love.

Well this was a hoot! This was my first Kimberly Lemming book and I can see why people love them! This was just a fun, spicy time. It's really not much plot and all vibes, with some low stakes excitement, a talking lion, two alien lovers, and a pink t-rex. You really can't go wrong with that combination.

The FMC Dory is a fun main character. I loved her academic brain and how she wanted to catalog everything. Her fascination with the new world and how everything co-existed added a bit more depth to her character and made my science brain happy too. Sol and Lok were great MMCs as well (although I do wish we had their POV because I just KNOW it would be good). They were distinct in their personalities and added some fun tension with each other and with Dory. Add in Toto, the talking lion, and you have a dream team there. Toto added in so much comedy and was such a delight.

I definitely recommend for fans of hers or if you’re curious what the hype is about. It was a super easy and fast book! Also the aliens have tails with suction on the end 👀

I also listened to it in audio and really enjoyed the audio! The narrator did a great job really embracing the FMC and her characteristics. It is a shorter audio (just over 9 hours) and was so easy to put on and listen while doing chores and on transit (just make sure you can keep a straight face).

Thank you Berkley and PRH Audio for the copies of the books!

Marcellus. Princess Donut. 2025 is bringing you Toto.

Dorothy is recording meerkats when she's suddenly attacked by a lion. And that's not the worst part of her day. When she comes to, she discovers she -- and the lion -- have both been abducted by aliens. They're able to escape only to crash-land on a strange planet.

Toto, the lion, can speak. There are dinosaurs and not one, but two wildly attractive aliens (though one might be a war criminal). To make it off this planet they're going to have to work together if they aren't killed first.

A why-choose with aliens. There were moments that had me genuinely laughing out loud and the chapters read SO fast. Pure entertainment.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this ARC!

If you plan to read this book, go in with an open mind! It makes reading this book that much more fun. Even with reading the description on the back of the book, I still had my expectations met and exceeded for just the amount of fun and crazy scenarios in this book.

I'm not sure what I would do if I was in the same position as Dory was in this book, but let me just say Dory had me laughing till my stomach hurt. Don't even get me started on Toto's sassiness either.

This book is such a good time! I spent most of my time laughing at the dynamics between the different characters in the book. Imagine going on the most insane trip with your friends and multiply that by 10.

Our two MMCs were EVERYTHING and gave all the vibes expected from two very dominant alien men. The comedic relief they provided in some of the more tense moments of the book was chef's kiss..

All in all I think this book is a great option for those that are looking for a fun short read in between books or for someone looking to shake things up a bit!

Thank you so much to Berkley for the advance copy!

This will be published on Feb 18th.

If you have never read a Kimberly Lemming book before, you are in for a treat!!! She is doing what no one else in contemporary romance.
This book was so off the wall in the best way. I will admit I did not know what was happening some of the time in the middle but that didn't stop me from enjoying the ride.

Now I don't know if I would necessarily call this your traditional rom com. In my brain I was thinking we were going to get these characters in a rom com movie but that was not the case. Somehow Lemming is able to take an alien abduction (along with a lion) in this alternate world funny. There were several times I found myself laughing out loud. And the lion that was abducted with Dory is a talking lion who ends up becoming her sidekick through this journey.

"Excuse me for not being able to roll with the punches after I got kidnapped by aliens"
"Yeah, but look on the bright side."
"What's the bright side?"
"I could've eaten you."

As mentioned there was an alien abduction but not only that we get dinosaurs, Earth simulation, action pack adventure and TWO alien love interests (Sol and Lok) plus a talking intern that looks similar to an owl with a Tamagotchi! Could this even be a reimagining of The Wizard of Oz? I can see some similarities if I really stretch my imagination. Dory's frenemy with the intern was always funny to read. It just always seemed to be around and at the most inconvenient times. Dory's internal monologue and her can't believe this is happening was funny! She even was kind of breaking the fourth wall pretending she is talking to a camera thinking she is being punked.

If you have read Lemming before, you know she does not back down on the spice. And in this one is no exception. She falls for two aliens who know she how to make her feel wonderful. The Intern gave Dory some sort of serum and well that acted as an aphrodisiac and she could not stop the desire that was building. There was a moment towards the end of the book where they are in a middle of a high speed chase and Sol decides now is the time to make a move. "We are...we are in the middle of a high speed chase! Why the hell are you choosing now to cop a feel? You are unbelievable." It was a good time.

If you like suspending your belief while reading and looking for something totally different in a romance, I recommend this one!

If you are into or open to monster romance, pick up this book from Kimberly Lemming!

This was such a fun monster romance! I absolutely devoured every wild moment. From the tubby one-armed pink t-Rex with a thing for Tamogatchis, to the over-eager Intern who is all about the only one bed trope, I never knew what was coming next!

Wildlife biologist, Dory has been studying a clan of meerkats much to the chagrin of her mother, who truly wants nothing more than to see her daughter wifed up to a Harvard grad. Just as a battle breaks out between two rival meerkat clans, Dory finds herself being stalked and nearly mauled to death by a lion, only to be saved(?) when she gets abducted by aliens.

After being shot with a dart, Dory finds herself hot, bothered, and mated to not one, but two hot aliens. We love it when a girl doesn’t have to choose!

This book was an absolute riot! I knew going in that I was going to have a silly-goofy time and I was not let down. I had fun, I laughed my butt off, and I can’t wait to see where this series goes next! I hope you pick this one up because it one cosmically good time!

Kimberly Lemming proves once again why she is an auto-buy author for me! Outlandish, sexy, and laugh out loud funny this romance is everything I wanted and more. If I got abducted by aliens and was dropped on a strange planet full of dinosaurs and wildlife that was slightly off I would also be happy to have not one but two down bad alien men protecting and loving on me. I'm very excited to see where the rest of this series goes!

Kimberly Lemming has such a great sense of humor. I’ve enjoyed her books in the past and was eager to read her new one. The title alone cracks me up!

Dorothy is in the midst of her chosen career and on her way to a PhD. Out of no where, Dory is attacked by a lion. Thankfully she’s alive and quickly realizes she’s been abducted by aliens.

This was corky and silly. A ton of information for you to wrap your head around. I feel there were alot of fun ideas involved but the execution was off. It’s a bit chaotic and very fast paced.

I suggest not taking this story seriously at all.

Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for the opportunity to this arc.

now y’all this was FUN. last time i’d read kimberly lemming was while i was in a low-key fever dream state as i was home sick. and i remember absolutely devouring her first book in the mead mishap series. so once i saw this being published i new i had read that as soon as possible. and it did not disappointment.

i laughed and i swooned alongside dory and her travelling companions throughout this dinosaur-inhabited alien world. dory cracked me up with her sheer amazement with every detail of this strange world. and the small glimpse of blair (whom i assume will be the protagonist of the second book in this series) has me so excited for more. this book truly went from 0 to 100% so fast with the overarching plot of the abduction dory and the romance below it all. but genuinely i was along for the ride on the backs of these duckbill dinos.

i’m excited for where the next books takes us and to hopefully see more quirks of this alien planet, waffles. and i’m excited to hopefully see bits more from dory and from sol and lok as cameos. i think lemming did an incredible job setting up this series to have amazing world-building as we go since we’re hinted to a large interactive galaxy. and i’m so intrigued to see more of the sour bird’s meddling and what may possibly happen on a grander scale. i have thoughts but for now i’ll keep my mouth shut.

fingers crossed a publication date is announced soon for the second book because i will be eagerly waiting.

Rating: 2.5

I liked the Mead Mishaps series by this author, so I was interested in this one. But it was all over the place and it kept jumping from scene-to-scene way too quickly. The best thing about this book is Toto the lion.

This was bonkers and I liked it. It wasn't quite the rom-com the title suggests, due to the near death experiences around every corner.

There are loads of characters, loads of insanity, loads of humor, and loads of sexy times. I wish there would have been more time for the main three to actually get to know each other and have some actual conversations, but again, there's not really time for it.

Overall, this was a quick read and I am definitely interested in the next book.

**Huge thanks to the publisher for providing the arc free of charge**

Officially, I’m a Monster Smut Girlie now! I never thought I’d enjoy monster romance, but Kimberly Lemming has yet to disappoint me. Her books always guarantee a mix of laugh-out-loud moments and scandalous gasps (yes, clutch those pearls!).

In *I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com*, we follow Dory, a woman abducted from her home planet and dropped into the middle of a scientific experiment to help save an alien race. The story tracks her struggle for survival and her mission to escape, all while navigating complicated relationships with Lok, the stoic and capable alien general who helped her out of a deadly trap, and Sol, her mysterious and resourceful alien companion who saved her from a terrifying seabeast. As a polyamorous romance, the book dives into themes of loyalty, desire, and tough choices, as Dory is nearly forced to decide between the two.

While Kimberly’s writing is as captivating as ever, I felt that Dory’s character lacked a certain depth. Her backstory involving issues with her mother is touched on, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something more was missing from her development. It could just be me, but adding Lok and Sol’s points of view might have enriched the story and provided a better understanding of their dynamics with Dory.

That said, I really appreciated that Dory didn’t fall for either of them immediately. The slow buildup made her relationships feel more realistic. And can we talk about Toto? As the lion who initially seemed like a threat, Toto became a loyal and humorous friend who added so much heart to the story.

Overall, *I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com* earned a 3.5/5 for me. While not perfect, it’s still an entertaining read that showcases Kimberly’s ability to craft diverse, imaginative worlds that leave you marveling at her creativity. She remains one of my favorite monster romance authors, and I can’t wait to see what strange and steamy adventures she dreams up next!

A hilarious paranormal rom com about a woman who is getting her PhD in wildlife biology but finds herself abducted by aliens while examining lions... and now she has a talking lion as a new friend and two very hot aliens who are convinced she is their mate... and did I mention she's stuck on a whole new planet and has to fight off prehistoric creatures? Dorothy Valentine is so close to getting her PhD in wildlife biology but is suddenly attacked by a lion and is then saved.. or rather abducted by aliens and crash lands on a whole new planet. There she meets Sol, a sexy alien and Lok, another hot alien war criminal. The lion that almost killed her? Also came along and can now talk and his name is Toto. Dory has her work cut out for her as she and her new friends explore the new world and all the deadly creatures around... and did I mention that Dory discovers that Sol and Lok both think she is their mate... but they can't stand each other... yet they dont mind sharing her.... well well well this stay just got a lot hotter for Dory. I am such a huge fan of Kimberly Lemming's books and this was such a new fun spin on a paranormal romance and with a MMF couple!!! I have always loved Kimberly's writing and her fun way of building a romance and story and this was just a hilarious romp of a time. Toto the lion was by far my second favorite part of the story, I adored him so much. Seriously this was a great read and I had an amazing time giggling and laughing while reading this!

Kimberly Lemmons has done it again! And I'm a huge fan—I think I own three or four of her previous books—and I love how she blends silly humor, laugh-out-loud moments, and lava-hot steaminess. "I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com" delivers all of that and more. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

This book was a wild ride! We have Dory, a PhD candidate studying meerkats, who gets abducted by aliens (along with a lion named Toto, who almost ate her!). The adventure that follows is pure chaos and hilarity, in true Kimberly Lemmon fashion. They crash-land on a planet crawling with dinosaurs, where she encounters Sol and Lok—two incredibly hot aliens who, in true alien smut fashion, are both her mates. And who's complaining? Not me. Dory is brilliant and badass—also sarcastic, messy, and so relatable. Toto the talking lion stole my heart, and Sol and Lok are both panties-on-the-floor swoon-worthy. The plot is twisty and unpredictable, keeping you guessing until the very end. The world-building is creative and funny.

This book is ridiculous, hilarious, utterly entertaining, and just an overall blast. I'll definitely be snatching a copy when it's released, or even better, preordering it. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a fun, out-of-this-world sci-fi alien romance.

This was a hoot and a half (lols iykyk) Dory is a wildlife biologist who ends up getting attacked by a lion and beamed up to some aliens. Oh, and the way she can talk to everyone? Kisses.

She gets mated to a couple aliens. Fights off a couple aliens. Punches a bird alien. Did I mention that there are dinosaurs too?

This book was so unserious and I was laughing through the whole book. I cannot such a fun, quick read, that is silly, spicy, and romantic all at once.

Kimberly Lemming does it again with her brilliant writing that blends humor and romance seamlessly!
I absolutely adore her Mead Mishaps series and the start of her Cosmic Chaos series is looking just as promising!

Thank you to Berkley for a chance to read an arc this book! 🖤

DNF 24% — NOOOOOO

Overall Thoughts 💭:
The beginning of this book was chaotic and insane. We go from subsaharan Africa, to an alien spacecraft, to a planet with long extinct dinosaurs and foliage from different millennia's. I love alien romances and I enjoyed the Mead Mishaps series so I was excited to start reading this! I struggled getting into this book I started with the digital arc and then I moved to a audiobook arc and while I would manage to get through more of the book with the audio arc, it took so long for me to finally get to that moment where I understood what was going on and also cared what was going on. I also hoped for more relationship development but from the moment the nano-insta love thing was explained I was a bit overwhelmed and over it.
