Hilarious and adventurous in Kimberly Lemming's signature style! The plot was full of whimsy and the main character is so witty. This is my first why choose romance trope and it was one I'll never forget. The characters and story was so imaginative from the dinosaurs, to talking owl-like creatures, to flame throwing sexy aliens with hooves and horns. There is so many elements, and a good amount of spice, but all of it is relevant to the plot none of it gets lost inside the strong plot line and conclusion. Such a fun read!

At this point, I will read anything that Kimberly Lemming writes. Her style of humor and realistic characters combined with her incredibly interesting plots reads like a friend telling a story over a glass of wine at the end of a long week. Dory was such a smart, relatable lead to all the chaos around her, and I loved that she made in-depth field observations just as many times as she ended up yelling at every new impossible thing around her. The two love interests, Lok and Sol, were hilariously contrasting and all their bickering added just the right amount of grounding to Dory's perspective of the whole situation. Each of the characters were so well built, with their internal and external struggles balanced with just the right amount of angst and heart. I particularly found that the bigger-picture plot of warring clans, dinosaur defenses, and old rivalries easily broke up the main trio's own issues without seeming contrived or annoying. And while all these qualities of Lemming's writing already serve to make for a fantastic story, the fact that she wraps all of this around some fantastically spicy scenes and character interactions only elevates her skill in my personal esteem.

I think this is just like Lemming's other books, which are fun and lighthearted and not at all serious. This is a super easy vacation read that reminds me a lot of Ice Planet Barbarians, and Lord knows I've read all of those.

Kimberly Lemming never misses!!! This new book is probably the steamiest of them all. We’ve got fated mates, hilarious dialogue, and an unhinged plot filled with sex scenes.
I was skeptical about how she was going to make aliens, dinosaurs, and a lion work but I should have been because Lemming always makes it work.

Don’t sleep on this one, y’all!

Thank you Net Galley and Berkley Publishing Group for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was such a fun read to be my first read of 2025. Kimberly's books have always made me laugh and enjoy my time. They are great when you are needing a laugh and some time away from the real world.

The beginning gave me flashbacks to watching Meercat mannor on discovery channel as a kid and now I need to find where I can watch the reruns of this show!!

Kimberly Lemming delivers her signature humor and charm in I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com, a quirky, action-packed alien romance filled with laugh-out-loud banter and a unique blend of sci-fi absurdity and prehistoric chaos. While I loved the author's previous series, this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The premise is undeniably fun—crash-landing on a dinosaur-filled planet with a lion sidekick and falling for two sexy aliens—but it felt too reminiscent of Ice Planet Barbarians, and the two-mate dynamic didn’t fully resonate with me. That said, Lemming’s sharp writing and snarky humor still shine, making it a lighthearted romp that’s worth a try for fans of her comedic style, even if this particular story didn’t become a favorite of mine.

I liked the Wizard of Oz inspo and Toto the lion was the BEST character. It plays on the sci-fi trope of the characters initially lusting for each other due to a serum...among other lore reasons dealing with experimentation and matchmaking for science. Unfortunately, that's one of my least favorite tropes. It also follows a poly relationship, which I liked, but I much preferred Sol over Lok, which made it difficult for me to be invested in them all together.

I read the first book in the Mead and Mishaps series by this author and had a lot of fun with it! Sadly this one was not to my personal tastes. I can respect that Kimberly Lemming set up a decent amount of lore amongst the spice and it certainly had rom-com vibes. I think this will have a lot of people it'll appeal to more than me!

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the e-arc!

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC! I’m not too big of a sci-fi fan so I didn’t really care for this one, I’m sorry! The banter was great and the romance was very spicy.

3.5 stars! I'm a huge fan of alien romance so when this book was announced I was so so excited to read it! On top of that we have a black FMC so I had to get my hands on it (thank you berkley I love you). The beginning is really strong as we get introduced to this new world. However, I think the world building began to get a very clunky and confusing quickly, it almost feels too quirky and random at some points. But I can appreciate how different it was from other alien romances in this genre. I wasn't expecting Dory to get MULTIPLE alien lovers, which was a fun surprise. I liked their relationship but wish we got a bit more even paced relationship development between them all. I'm excited to see where Lemming may be going with this series!

This was the most wild book I’ve ever read! A bit too wild for me in terms of the smut, but the actual story/adventure was really unique and amazing! I loved that the alien birds tried to copy earth onto another planet, and everything was slightly wrong, it was very funny to read. The friendship between Dory and Toto the lion was so enduring and probably my favorite part. The romance between Dory, Lok, and Sol was actually so cute that I am now forever changed. I loved how over time Lok and Sol started to deeply care for each other too.

Thank you to Netgalley, Kimberly Lemming, and the publishing team for allowing me to read this incredible book early through the ARC! I am such a huge fan of Lemming’s work, and this book is so special! I cannot wait for the release, I know so many people who will fall in love with this story.

Kimberly Lemming strikes again with I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com! This book is like bingeing your favorite cheesy rom-com while someone keeps handing you margaritas—equal parts ridiculous, hilarious, and spicy.

The story follows a relatable, snarky heroine who gets abducted by aliens and somehow ends up the star of what can only be described as a cosmic romantic comedy. And let me tell you, if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to fall for a seven-foot-tall alien with abs carved out of stardust (yes, stardust), this book has all the answers. Spoiler: It’s hot.

The banter? Top-notch. The spice? Chef’s kiss. The internal commentary from our girl as she tries to navigate intergalactic romance while keeping her sanity? So on point. I couldn’t stop laughing at her very real, very sarcastic thoughts—like yes, who wouldn’t question their life choices while getting serenaded by a tentacled alien in a karaoke bar?

If you’re in the mood for a rom-com that’s out of this world (literally) and aren’t afraid to laugh-cry your way through intergalactic awkwardness, grab this book. Trust me, you’ll never look at stardust the same way again.

Thanks so much to @berkleypub @berkleyromance for the free book! This book was so unpredictable. Who would ever think to write a story about Tamagotchis, aliens, mates , a lion and dinosaurs. Now I’m not a fan of the ‘Why Choose’ trope. I didn’t realize it when requesting this book. It didn’t take away from me enjoying the story. This author is one of the funniest authors out there in my opinion. I have never not laughed at her books. The Tiffany Pollard meme reference took me out. 5 Stars for a very unique rom com. That being said I am on a mission to read all of Kimberly Lemming’s books.

A fun read, with lots of good humor and a great romance! I loved the addition of the lion, as well, and the fact they landed on a planet full of dinosaurs! I will absolutely be recommending this!

Thank you so much for the ARC.

Dorothy Valentine was attacked by a lion but instead of dying she is kidnapped by alien owl research scientists who are searching for compatible mates for a species of other aliens that they owe restitution to. Escaping the aliens temporarily, she crash lands on a wild planet with pink dinosaurs, a talking lion and two fated mates.

Why I started this book: Loved the joy found in Lemming's other series [book:That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon|58648147] and was looking for more of the same.

Why I finished it: The joy is more chaos in this book. Did you ever go through a time where you wanted to be an author and just pulled all the awesome characters from other books, movies and stories in your life? You plunked them down in the sandbox of your imagination and thought this would be so awesome... I did, and then it fizzled because you need a plot and reason for them to be together... not to mention copyright infringement etc. This feels like Lemmings revisited a childhood dream, added tons of crazy sex and a dash of plot and called it good. I could feel her joy in writing this story, but there was less joy for the reader.

I could not stop reading this book! It was an absolutely wild and hilarious ride, and I can't wait for the next one. Kimberly Lemming is one of my favorite authors with her fast-paced action and irreverent humor. This is going to be a huge hit, it was fantastic!

This book is pure, unfiltered chaos in the best way possible. Imagine the whimsical absurdity of Wizard of Oz colliding with dinosaurs, aliens, and romantic escapades—it’s as wild as it sounds! The characters leap off the page, each adding their own flavor of hilarity and heart. From a quirky meerkat researcher to not one but two alien suitors for Dory, the protagonist, the story delivers constant surprises and laugh-out-loud moments.

Kimberly Lemming has created a world where logic takes a backseat to fun, and honestly, it works. It’s a rom-com on steroids, unapologetically leaning into its ridiculous premise while still managing to be charming and entertaining. Whether you’re a fan of her previous books or diving in for the first time, this will leave you grinning and wanting more. It’s a delightful ride you won’t regret!

As usual we get to go to a strange place with lots of humor and even more spice! This definitely gave off Wizard Of Oz vibes with a urban flair and I loved it. I adored Dorthy with her passion and determination. The action starts right away and the descriptions were so good you feel you are right there in the book. I did have a hard time with the love potion. It does talk about it in the trigger warnings but it made the romance feel forced to me. If you're looking for Kimberly's signature funny spicy light fantasy books she just gave us another amazing one!

This book is INSANE. It’s the definition of never let them see your next move and I loved every moment of it.

So, Dorothy is a biologist studying meerkats when … something happens and her memory goes blank. Then she wakes up ON AN ALIEN SHIP. Things happen and she escapes and crash lands on a planet that looks a bit like Earth, except for the dinosaurs and vegetation that shouldn’t be there at the same time.

What also shouldn’t be there, the talking lion who also escaped the alien ship with her.

She gets overwhelmed by her TWO boos (my only piece of critique is that boo number two couldn’t make it onto the cover) and the fated mates vibes she’s getting from them. Or the talking owl-like creature with a clipboard.

Kimberly Lemming did it again! It was a barrel of laughs when I needed it and if I had to explain what parts of the story I loved, I would explain the entire story line by line.

You will not regret any single moment of Dorothy, her boyfriends Sol and Lok (who are also boyfriends), and Toto the talking lion.
