I Got Abducted by Aliens by Kimberly Lemming was a true surprise for me! I love a good romance now and then, but I’m usually in it for the slow burn and the yearning. But this? It was fast-paced and off the rails. And guess what? All I wanted was more. One alien? Not enough—give me another. Hungry lion? Why not throw in a lioness? T-rex? How about making it hot pink? If you thought it was crazy, it just gets crazier.
I couldn’t see anything coming besides them getting together in less than a few chapters. I don’t think it’ll be for everyone, especially with certain tropes, but if you're just here for a fun time, then read away!

Kimberly Lemming is the master of the ridiculously fun rom-com. Just like the last series, this was a fun time. This one is a laugh out loud great read, and I can't wait to see what else she will be writing.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy!! I loved the Mead Mishaps adventures and this has the same vibe and energy that one did. This is just a fun romp in a scifi land with ridiculous characters that are just a bunch of fun.

Only Kimberly could write a 5 star book that has, a talking lion, a pink dinosaur, owl aliens, alien mates, a giant frog, and an engaging plot with incredibly hot spice. LIKE ONLY SHE COULD DO IT I FEAR.
Quite literally devoured this up like I was running out of time to read it. 😋

Thank you Berkley & Netgalley for the ARC!
This was my first book by Kimberly, and I would read more by her. Her humor is what kept me going throughout this book. I laughed so much.
This book was very silly if slightly unhinged, which is not usually a problem for me. I think I just didn’t feel the romance with this one. I kept telling myself I’m taking it too serious, just enjoy the ride, but it still felt lacking to me in the romance area.
Still very open to more books by Kimberly in the future! Loved the writing and the humor, just didn’t vibe with the guys I think. It jumped to spice without any emotional connection for me.
Toto made the entire book lol. The sour birds comments made me giggle every time.

I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com by Kimberly Lemming is a wildly fun, quirky adventure that blends sci-fi and romance in a way that's both entertaining and absurd. Lemming’s sense of humor shines through in the book, with witty dialogue and over-the-top scenarios that keep the tone light and playful throughout. While the premise is certainly original and brimming with potential, the plot can sometimes feel chaotic, with some storylines and character motivations feeling underdeveloped or implausible. The romantic subplot, though endearing, follows predictable tropes, and it could benefit from deeper emotional stakes to make the characters' connection more meaningful. Nevertheless, the book is a delightful romp for readers who enjoy a mix of comedy, romance, and sci-fi, even if it doesn't always take itself as seriously as it perhaps could.

Aaaaahhhh! Kimberly Lemming did it again. I was literally screaming, gasping and kicking my feet for the entirety of this book. Dory is goofy and headstrong and exactly the main character I wanted to see when I first heard the title of this book. I will be instantly purchasing any sequels that come from this series and literally anything written by Kimberly Lemming.

Thank you Berkeley for the arc. All thoughts are my own. This book was hilarious, spicy, and literally out of this world wild!! I loved the characters so much, this is one of my fav reads for the year.

Kimberly has done it again! As someone who read the Mead Mishaps series and loved it, this sci-fi rom-com was everything I expected it to be and a little more.
The plot was fast, adventurous, and very chaotic considering our characters were constantly in harms way lol. The characters were fun and filled with personality. I felt each of them brought something different to the story and their dynamics made for amazing banter and so many funny moments. This is a romance where it is a bit instant, more like insta-lust turned love but it read well and the romance itself didn’t override the overall plot and it did not disappoint when delivering the spice either.
As chaotic and unpredictable as this book was, I felt it was quite informative on the topic animals, animal observation/study as well as some of the other scientific topics that were included. I was not expecting to learn what I did when reading, and that was an added bonus to my enjoyment of the book.
Outside of the romance and adventure, there are other themes that were neatly interwoven into the story that I felt allowed me to better connect to the characters and made them feel like real people.
This is for anyone who wants a quick adventurous sci-fi read with plenty of humor, great banter, constant near death experiences, aliens, talking animals, and unpredictable chaos with handfuls of hot spice in between. Would highly recommend for a fun time in delulu land.

This book was lots of fun and a great follow-up to the Mead Mishaps series. A little ridiculous sometimes, but in a fun way and very steamy. The plot goes off in some interesting directions, but overall a fun time.

Laugh out loud funny. Check your brain at the door and enjoy. This is escapism at its best. I giggle-snorted my way through this fast-paced adventure.

This is one of few books that I had a hard time getting through. I love Kimberly Lemming's other books(Meade Mishaps) and was SOOO excited when I got the early copy of this book. However, it's just got too much going on for me. It's got the same appeal of her other books but there's just way too much happening, especially early on with the DP from two aliens and pseudo drugging? Overall, I don't think this book was for me but I will say it was fun but I found myself cringing through most of it.

Another fun alien romance straight from monster romance herself. This was a fun romp through a totally new alien world with multiple aliens and critters from all time dimensions. This was a really fun and quick read and the spice...well it's hot enough to make you reach for the milk.

Thank you to NetGalley for sending me an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com by Kimberly Lemming follows a scientist who is abducted by aliens and dropped onto a topsy-turvy planet full of hot warriors, dinosaurs, and never-ending shenanigans.
As someone who has read a lot of alien romances, it was pretty funny having all the tried-and-true tropes turned on their head. It was pure and utter ridiculousness and a complete fever dream of a read! I also really enjoyed that you never knew what you were going to meet when you turned the page, the author was really flexing her imagination muscles--and while it was goofy and wild, it was still a well-structured story with great writing, a steady plot, and enough spice to set your hair on fire.
Overall I gave this four stars and while I predict this will be a polarizing read for people because it's so crazy, I do recommend giving it a try. My advice is to go in without any expectations, just enjoy the wild, roller-coaster ride!

Wow was this bonkers! I’ve read previous books from the author so I had some expectation of how off the wall this would be but this was seriously next level.
It’s an action packed, fast paced (so fast it made my head spin), why choose romance between a human woman kidnapped off earth and dropped onto an alien planet, and the two alien men she is mated with. We’ve got hot aliens, a talking lion, a pink t-rex, bird wardens, rideable dinosaurs, and more.
It is, at its heart, a very silly story and while I tend to overthink things, it’s best not to do that here. Just sit back and let the story take you away.
My only real note is the mating bond gave me a serious ick. It’s a forced bond/medical experiment and at an age where bodily autonomy for women is heavily under pressure, the lack of consent to the medical experiment made me feel ill.

What a fun, smutty, (somewhat) low-stakes alien romance! I have always loved Lemming's books, but this is now very much my favorite. We finally get a throuple and another bad-ass female lead character, as well as some iconic side characters. Weird little owl aliens and a talking lion top off the weirdness and hilarity of the storyline. Not to mention dinosaurs and a massive frog that may or may not try to eat humans. This weird funny little story is amazing for any time, but especially during a reading slump or a stressful time when reading doesn't feel easy to do. I loved every moment of this and can't wait to see what we end up with next from Lemming!
The wit and banter were A+ and the smut was 5 stars!
This is the perfect book for anyone who loves sci-fi or fantasy romance, witty back-and-forth between love interests, instalove, and/or rom-coms!
Thank you to Berkley Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an arc for this!

I could not put this book down and read 3/4s in one sitting. I loved the banter between the characters and laughed out loud at several points. The spiciness was at a great level for me. Kimberly Lemming is now on my must read author list.

I never wanted to fall in love with an alien until I read this book. 😅 I've never read any of her work before so I went into this totally blind and was pleasantly surprised! This was hilariously witty, heat inducingly spicy, and packed with adventure! I loved the banter between characters and the development of the relationship between Dory, Sol, and, Lok. Overall, great story and I'm now running to grab the other books to read ASAP!

This was WILD. I've seen Kimberly's books on our shelves and included them on multiple displays, but this is the first time I've read one... I was not prepared. Think Ruby Dixon, but like better? With a talking lion and a pink t-rex... It was a super fun read with lots of spice, two broody aliens and amazing representation. Definitely going to dive into her other books!

⭐⭐⭐
Pure junk food reading at it's best! If you're looking for a fun, non-nonsensical rom-com full of dinosaurs, aliens and spice, this is the book for you! I will say that I liked the cozy nature of the Mead Mishaps series more than the chaotic absurdity in this book but maybe that's just because I tend to like fantasy more often than sci-fi generally.
🌶️ As far as spice goes, I do like a bit of spice in my books but I will say that I don't usually gravitate towards books with heavy spice. If I do end up with a particularly spicy book, I need it to be grounded in an interesting plot or driven by characters that I love. This book fell a bit short for me on this. The plot was a small thread connecting a ragtag gang of characters together that required the reader to often suspend disbelief. (eg. Oh no, the characters don't speak the same language, better add some weird mechanic where they have to lick or kiss each other to swap a language symbiote between them so they can understand each other?) I think this kind of thing works better in a fantasy genre because magic always requires a suspension of disbelief whereas in sci-fi there is always a bit of real science that the reader could conceivably stretch to believe it could be possible. So little things like that took me out of the story a bit.
If you've read other books in the "alien romance" genre, you will probably recognize similar story structures here. Personally, I picked this up because I like how fun and easy Kimberly Lemming's books are to read but alien romance isn't really my genre. I've only read Ice Planet Barbarians and I get the sense that they tend to follow similar trends, i.e. girl gets abducted and dropped onto alien planet, encounters dangerous local flora/fauna she isn't equip to defend herself against, enter giant hot humanoid alien man or men to save her, they end up mated through some weird alien bond nonsense. So, please feel free to take my review with a grain of salt! However, all that being said, if you liked the IPB series, if you're looking for something fun that you don't want to take too seriously, or if you just like Lemming's writing, you'll probably enjoy this one!
