Kimberly Lemming is the queen of silly, magical romances. She branches into new territories with "Aliens," with characters being beamed up by space ships, talking animals, and dinosaurs. The plot is completely outrageous and one I found entertaining in its absolute stupidity (I mean this in a positive way). The spice will be divisive, and to the author's credit, she does acknowledge this at the beginning of the book. There's dubious consent that took a lot of the fun out the story. The creativity of the setting does not translate into a creative plot, and I found the momentum lacking at the halfway point and onwards. Overall, just ok for me.

Full disclosure, I received an advanced reading copy from NetGalley and Berkley (Thank you!!) but this is my honest review of this book.

I loved it! It is a 4.5 star for me. It was my first time reading a book written by Kimberly Lemming and it won't be my last. I actually bought the books from the Mead Mishaps series for the library this year after a colleague of mine had raved about it but with all the patrons demands, I did not have the chance to read it yet.

Now back to this book. It was funny, sexy, adventurous, full of dinosaurs and aliens, action-packed and above all, an addictive read. I do not read a lot of sci-fi books so I was a little skeptical when I saw it was a story with aliens but since I love to push myself out of my comfort zone, I decided to give it a chance. It was so well done, I feel like I learned some science between two laughers and I even gasped out loud at some point.

The FMC is doing what she wants even with two strong aliens trying to boss her around, and I was here for it. While some things are not explained as clearly as I would like, most of the explanations made sense if you don't question it too much.

I wish I could tell you more details about it, but it is a rather short book and I hate to spoil people. Trust me, if you've read Assistant to the villain and loved it, you will love this one!

Was this book deranged and out of pocket? Yes it was.
Did I enjoy every second of it? Absolutely.

4.5 stars rounded up and a 3.5/5 on my spice scale

This was a wild mash up of wizard of oz meets Jurassic park, but also make it a why choose romance. I have no idea where Kimberly came up with the idea for this book, but it was unlike anything I've ever read before. I enjoyed the mead mishaps series but I honestly think I liked this book more that I liked that series. This was so fun and action packed from the very beginning and I loved this cast of characters (But I especially loved Toto).

If you like wild books with completely out there plots that still make sense, wonderfully written spice, and some alien love, then this is going to be the book for you.

Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced review copy.

This was absolutely absurd in the BEST way possible. It somehow had a plot that made complete sense and gave us aliens, talking owls, dinosaurs, giant frogs. It was funny, fast paced, more spicy than I thought it would be (a delightful surprise if we're being honest), and I just had such a fun time reading it. I think it's honestly best to go into this book without a ton of up-front information and just enjoy the ride.

Thank you so much to Berkley Romance for the eARC - all opinions are my own!

Once the lion started talking I was in. Has Ice Planet Barbarian vibes but much lighter in tone. The spice was fun, though would have liked more relationship between the two males.

Truthfully, this book was a delight. I am not usually a fan of sci-fi based worlds, but whenever Kimberly Lemming is involved, I’ll be there.

This book was equal parts funny, smutty and adventurous. You can never go wrong with a character knocking at 30 and still feeling the weight of a parent’s approval. However, the ride, my girl Dorothy (Dory for short); went on after being abducted and mated to two deliciously attractive aliens is unmatched.

Highly recommended for the bookies that love reverse harems, the “why choose” trope and a bit of tentacle play. If you loved “The Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf”, this is the one. A black female character being loved honestly and gently by two very different personalities will never be a miss.

Can’t wait until I can own this book outright. Much love to NetGalley for this amazing opportunity.

I never thought I would love a book like this, but I genuinely could not put it down. It was funny and checky and just a good time. Just trust me you'll love every second of this wacky love story.

Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group for a this digital ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a wild ride to say the least. I was expecting absolute absurdity based on the cover alone, but wow! If you are in the market for a spicy fever dream through a jurassic park like world on an alien planet that includes pink dinosaurs, owl aliens, tamagotchis, alien mates, and a talking lion then this one is for you.

Now I love Kimberly Lemming and her Mead mishap series. The titles are ridiculous and I just love it. This one is no exception, except more spice/less plot focused. I would love to sit down and have a chat with her on how she comes up with these extraordinary situations her characters find themselves in. Truly creative.

This book is completely unserious and just turns on the silly factor into high gear. It makes fun of its own tropes and gives you a laugh. Definitely a turn your brain off moment and prepare for a wild adventure.

Tropes:
- forced mating
- drug alteration
- one bed
- knotting
- FMM why choose

This one was fun and silly like Lemming's other books but the logistics kind of kept tripping me up.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

Review: I tried. This is not the author's fault. This is just a mismatch of compatibility. You will love this book if you enjoyed outlandish (there is a place) and very spicy romance. I knew this going in, this is not the books fault. It's just not for me. But I can say, and wanted to say that you will get exactly what is promised in the synopsis which is very important. For that I will give it 5 stars.

Before I even write my review, I need to say thank you to Berkley for giving me the ARC after I begged and pleaded with them to do so. It was everything I could have hoped for and more. Now, onto the review. 10s across the board. I was 9% and had laughed so hard I cried twice already. Kimberly has this knack for making the best side characters and even though I love Alexis and she can do no wrong from the Demon side, Toto might be my new favorite. From the very beginning, he brought comedic relief as well as being somewhat a point of reason. Of course, he also is an animal so he has basic animal instincts but he helped Dory come back down to... well, not Earth, but you get it. I think of the probably millions of highlights I made, probably half at least were from Toto.
Dorothy was such a fun and realistic FMC. Firstly she is unapologetically a black woman through and through. Just trying to if not make your family proud, prove them wrong. I think my favorite thing about her was the fact that she was herself and she picked the perfect job and degree for herself and you could tell throughout the book. She studied her hyper fixation to the point of a job and it became useful being on this planet and being able to tell them about the animals/beasts and the flora and fauna. Plus the scene where she is explaining it to Sol and Lok, and their responses? Swoon. Speaking of the MMCs, there were multiple which I didn't know and was expecting but was such a happy surprise. I've got to say I think Sol is my favorite, he's giving nerdy hot and I like that in a man/alien. He really got Dory and you could tell her was immediately enamored by her from the very beginning (well not when they started talking and she took her shoes off but after that). He was so attentive to her and everything she said. I have to include this quote because i feel like it truly explains his feelings towards her, "Before you, a vine was just a vine. Now I fret over their plans for world domination. You make the mundane precious.” like how sweet is that. Now Lok was also good but he's like the bad boy, but he's out with his yix at any given time. His background plot twist was probably the most shocking for me because I wasn't expecting it but he too is absolutely obsessed with Dory but he shows his more outwardly with all the flirting and he too appreciates her hyper fixation when he gets her talking about the sloth. Like these men were perfect for her and it only took a small alien abduction for her to find them. Her mom would be shocked!
I want to talk more about the characters but I feel like that would give too much away but I hope we see more of the Intern, he's something else. And I hope we see from Toto's queen, she seems scary. I cannot wait for book 2, or 1 since it's technically not out yet. Again thank you to Berkley and Kimberly for allowing me to ARC read

I have not had this much fun reading a book in a while. Kimberly Lemming is the queen of silly and raunchy fantasy/sci-fi romance, and this book continues to prove that. Every character in this book had a distinct voice and look in my head and the settings were laid out so vibrantly and full of life- as if I were watching a gorgeously animated movie with a two heaping handfuls of spice. I fell in love with Sol immediately, and as an animal nerd, Dory was the perfect protagonist for me. The characters' personalities were so strong and so charming, I also really loved (or loved to hate) the antagonists in the story. I can absolutely see myself coming back to this book again and again in the future.

Thank you NetGalley for the digital arc! If you’re in the mood for a playful and lusty time, go ahead and pick this book up. There are pink dinosaurs, lions, aliens and 10 other things that are fever dream material. The start of the book took me by surprise at first. I didn’t entirely realize what I was getting myself into (although, the cover really says it all lol). And I wasn’t sure if this was going to be a book for me. I finally just went with and enjoyed joining Dory on her weird as* adventure.
My advice is to turn your brain off, your libido on and enjoy the ride.

Ok, so I need to start off by saying that I loved this author's first series 'That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon', and this book definitely has the same kind of humor Kimberly Lemming's is known for. I also enjoy the 'Ice Planet Barbarians' series and this book definitely reminded me a bit of those. However, instead of being stranded on an Ice Planet, the human main character Dorothy is kidnapped by Owl Aliens and planted on a Jurassic Park Planet in order to mate with hot Faun Alien doods who have also been kidnapped from their own planet... that was destroyed... in order to continue their race -the events that lead to this are all explained in the book lol. Then there are the love interests: Lok and Sol, one is a hunky, swaggering warrior, the other is a smarty-pants emo boy. Did I mention this is a throuple romance and not a love triangle? Also there is a hilarious talking lion animal companion. All in all this sounds like a great time, however... I didn't love it. There were a lot of moving parts to the plot that I thought were a bit all over the place, especially the King Osid plot. I also wasn't a fan of the spice scenes, they were very explicit, very early on in the book. The characters all met less than 24 hours before any real romance could be developed and it kind of gave me the ick. This is def a personal preference, so if you read a lot of spicy/smut romance, this might not bother you. This was explained by a "forced mating bond" storyline (similar to 'Ice Planet Barbarians'), but it still felt over the top to me. I probably won't continue this series, and hope that Lemmings' returns to her 'Mead Mishaps' series in the future.

This was my first Kimberly Lemming book and oh my god she’s so funny and quirky! I enjoyed the fast pace of this one and most of the time had no clue what was going on because it was so wild. This is like a why choose wizard of oz journey but with aliens and you know what? It was hot 🙂‍↕️

As much as I liked the fast pace, it was a bit too insta-lovey for me and I wish there was more development between the characters. I’m not sure if this one was a favorite of mine in this specific genre, but it was alright and would recommend to anyone who enjoys some monster romance hehehe

Thank you Berkley and NetGalley for the arch in exchange for my honest review!

The blend of laugh-out-loud moments, steamy tension, and unique world-building make this book a perfect escape for anyone who loves a romantic adventure with a side of humor. It’s a fast-paced, chaotic ride that’s impossible to put down, packed with charm, banter, and a ton of unexpected heat. I highly enjoyed reading it.

HUGE thank you to author Kimberly Lemming and netgalley for the ARC

This book was every ounce as chaotic as I hoped! from a talking lion, pink t-rex and owl aliens. there's love, action and the humor is everything! I loved every minute it was a great time.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Mead Mishaps series and was greatly anticipating this read. Though it is along the same lines, this is not another installment in that series. Please know that going in.

The beginning of this book was odd and hard to follow, however the entirety on the novel kind of felt like a fever dream. Once you get your bearings on what the actual hell is going on, things just continue to get weirder and weirder. All beliefs must be suspended for this novel. However, I will say this was the first polyamorous relationship I have read about that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Overall, this was a bit more outlandish and kookie than Lemmings previous series, but I was fully along for the ride, appreciated the bold decision to create this world, and would read the next book.
