✨Book Review✨

This book was absolutely insane in the best way! I have loved everything Kimberly has written. Her writing is hilarious and the stories she creates are unique and so much fun!

This book starts off with Dory being abducted by Aliens along with a lion. Along the way she's able to communicate with the lion and their adventure depends crash landing on a planet that's inhabited by dinosaurs and an alien species. Where Dory finds Sol and Lok and things get crazy! This book was fast paced and just so much fun.

Im so stoked this is going to be a series! Thank you to @kimberlylemming @berkleypub and @netgalley for the gifted eArc.

I love Kimberly Lemming's titles and the vibes of her fantasy romances so much and this one did not disappoint. I'm typically pretty picky with romance, but this was fun.

Stranded on an alien planet with two sexy alien mates?

SPECTACULAR! GIVE ME FOUR OF THEM RIGHT NOW.

Thank you so much NetGalley and Berkley pub!

Dorothy's abduction by aliens leads her to a new world where she finds herself entangled with two incredibly attractive aliens.

This book is not only hilarious but also keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Highly recommend!

Did I mention the two sexy aliens? P.S. There's some sword-crossing action with the sexy aliens.

Enjoy the ride!

Kimberly Lemming’s I Got Adopted by Aliens, and Now I'm Trapped in a Romcom follows Dorothy, a doctoral student in wildlife biology, after she’s abducted by aliens. These aliens specifically sought out Dorothy and other women like her to help reestablish another alien colony and produce offspring for the future. This leaves Dorothy stranded on an unknown planet with an ancient Earth species and strange hybrid creatures, some resembling the animals and plants she loves to study.

I adore everything Kimberly Lemming writes. She has such a unique ability to take the wildest situations and turn them into something laugh-out-loud funny while crafting characters that feel real and dynamic. The tension between Lok and Sol, two rivals who manage to find common ground, was especially enjoyable. Oh, and the talking lion? Absolutely fantastic.

I’m so excited to see what the rest of the Cosmic Chaos series will bring! Big thanks to Berkley Pub and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Note: this is a review of the digital ARC I read through NetGalley.
I am overdue with this review. It's the end of October, and I finished this a month ago. I've been struggling with how I can best articulate how much I enjoyed this book and how much respect and trust I have for Kimberly Lemming as an author.
The book was hilarious, smart, and fast-paced. It felt like a 30 Rock episode where you fully get all the jokes in an episode after you rewatch it at least a couple of times. Slowing down between chapters helped me catch onto the jokes, references, and witty moments that I may have missed. I love Dory. She's intelligent and ridiculous in the best ways. Example: a question another character asks her, “Are you sure you don’t want to climb some towering mountain to scream at a flower?” I also related to this quote from her, “For the same reason I do anything, because it’s interesting."
Kimberly Lemming's writing style is full of wit, humor, and heart and that's the only reason why I finally tried an alien romance. I don't see myself reading this trope again until the next book in this series comes out. And I am already impatiently waiting for it.
All in all, I liked this book, I have liked all of Kimberly Lemming's books, and I'm pretty sure all of my friends now know this because I recommend them constantly.

Kimberly Lemming's books are SO funny. This one is pitch-perfect, had me laughing out loud, and both delights in the tropes of the genre and sends them up in moments of absurdity. Loved this, will always read a Lemming title.

Kimberly Lemming has quickly become an auto-read author for me

After absolutely DEVOURING her Mead Mishaps series, I was ECSTATIC to see she had this new series - Cosmic Chaos - coming out.

The title of this is eye-catching - and don’t worry the contents are just as fun, creative, chaotic, refreshing, and ridiculous in the absolute BEST POSSIBLE WAY. I flew through these pages, thoroughly enjoying myself along the way, and then was angry at myself for not savoring them and making them last longer.

… and that’s saying something because usually I am NOT a fan of the “why choose” trope, but somehow Lemming made me like it here. That’s some serious talent.

The steam in this book is also excellent… and, honestly, this may be her steamiest one yet!

Overall, this was a DELIGHT, and I already can’t wait for book 2!

SUGGESTED SNACK PAIRING: poached eggs and toast, or coffee and chocolate

Triggers: sexual content, kidnapping, animal death, gun violence, war

If I could rate this 4.25 I definitely would! Welcome back Kimberly Lemming!!! An insta buy author for me, I read anything this woman writes. Although it took me a second to get into this book since it's more science fiction than fantasy, which is normally what I read, I quickly got into it! I loved the differences in both of the love interest and the main character's personality. And the spice!!!!! Well done!

I usually love Kimberly Lemming's books, but this one was a miss for me. Definitely the spiciest of her novels, and it seemed like sometimes the spice was there just for spice sakes. I did enjoy the world building, and wish there was more of it!

The perfect (PERFECT) poly-am madcap romp. Kimberly Lemming can do no wrong. Funny, sweet, swoony and fan yourself hot, this really did EVERYTHING (and a little more).

I love Kimberly Lemming’s, Mead Mishaps so I was just a little disappointed with this one. It was more science fiction than I had anticipated. It did make me laugh and I would recommend this book. Toto was everything for me!!

so silly and fun!!! love even more than the mead mishaps!

Kimberly Lemming writes the most wild, silly little romance books!!! Her female main characters are always so charming and funny and they endear themselves to the reader immediately. the love interests (YES ITS A TRIAD) are also amazing i loved them both. the side characters were great and the plot always kept me on my toes. absolutely love, can't wait for the next one

*ARC REVIEW*

Dinosaurs, Aliens, talking lions, oh my.

Plot: Foul tasting but overly involved and intelligent owlish creatures want nothing more than to see the survival of the male alien race(grey, horned, hooves and tailed Sankado aliens) on *intentionally* unnamed planet by breeding them successfully with the females they abducted from earth.

If you don’t know what a tamagotchi is you might not get all the references in this book to pop culture. But that’s okay because you’ll still want to ride on the back of a dinosaur and see where you end up.

This book reads like a fever dream. Like what I would imagine a hallucinogenic trip to an alien planet is. I probably shouldn’t have read it every night before bed to try and incept wild dreams of threesomes on a planet with purple clouds but I’m a glutton for the weird.

I HAD SO MUCH FUN. There is nothing serious about this book and it was funny, light, easy, quick to read and absolutely captivating. This book was exactly how I want my rom-com’s to read.

****Potential minor spoiler****

3-4 spicy scenes 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
Knotting 🪢
mmf and mfm 😎
One flirty possessive former war general (M)
One charming cautious protective lawyer (M)
One former meerkat biologist just trying to survive and get some coffee and chocolate (F)

The only hiccup I had was the abrupt lane change around ~70% when I felt blindsided by the story change and the introduction of the King Osid subplot. I do admit this could just be me and the timing of my starting and stopping each night but it felt clunky. Our party of characters is on this one journey to the research center and then BAM everyone’s split up and this King’s being obnoxious. Again, probably just me. But it felt like a train went off the tracks there in the story. In a book where nothing is serious that still won’t affect me from giving it an amazing rating because it helps with world building and setups for potential spin offs.

100% will be purchasing this shelf trophy for rereading.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkeley Publishing for this a copy of this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

ALL THE STARS. All of them. Let Kimberly write whatever the heck she wants and I will buy it sight unseen.

This book is utterly UNHINGED in the best way possible. A fever dream sponsored by acid mixed with a love potion. It was a WILD RIDE and I enjoyed every second of this feral sci-fi romance.

Dorothy gets dropped onto a strange planet only to fall for not one, but two, aliens. If you enjoyed Kimberly Lemming's first series, "Mead Mishaps," you will enjoy this new upcoming series called "Cosmic Chaos," from her. This cover art is gorgeous ❤️ and I would love to see it as a special edition! I love the Wizard of Oz references! And it features a dinosaur 🦕, major points in my eyes!

I had such a fun time reading this book,
1. I love the little connections that i could find to Wizard of oz, BUT I also thought it gave me some the lion, the witch and the wardrobe vibes.
2. The world that was built was great. There was such a good balance of fantasy and reality, while also giving you a lot of space to build your scenery around it. I’d be so interested seeing it all laid out how the author intended it to look because this world was so fun.
3. The characters were great. I liked that while they are a throple there wasn’t a love interested i completely hated. I loved both of them and thought they were all a good match together.
4. It was genuinely funny. I loved the interns character.

Thank you NetGalley for this arc! I absolutely loved the Mead Mishaps series and fell in love with this author. I had high hopes for this new addition to Kimberly Lemmings line up. Sadly, this one fell flat for me. I was having a hard time following along and staying engaged. I think the planet wasn’t interesting enough for me to stay engaged or it just felt a little all over the place with no true plot. I did really enjoy Toto’s character! 2.75/5

this was lighthearted fun with a bit of spice.

I really enjoyed the animal sidekick, our MC woman in stem, and the relationship that the love interests had with each other (low key more than with our MC, because they were both just kinda obsessed with her without more dimension). The alien companion (I just pictured it as the Duolingo owl, but I’m not sure I have any basis for that?) was amusing as well.

if you think too hard about it, the consent politics in this book weren’t great, but I thought about it in the same way I do ice planet barbarians and went ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. it’s a silly book and it features a black nerdy woman being adored and valued, which I think is worth noting as something valuable in and of itself. some of the romance is quite sweet (outside of the noted dubcon-ness), and I really did enjoy the inner monologue of our MC- in her panicking moments and her moments of self-efficacy. all in all, a cute monster-ish romance with a fun heroine and super fun world.
