This book was absolutely ridiculous in the best way!
Was it out of my comfort zone?
Oh yes!
Did it make me uncomfortable at times?
Also yes.
Did I laugh like hell?
Most definitely.
I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm trapped in a Rom-Com is super spicy with a capital H in HOT, so it isn't for everyone;
but if funny, madcap, crazy plotting and why choose crazy alien smut sounds like fun, it's likely it will be for you.

Delightful romp featuring a biologist, a talking lion, hot aliens, dinosaurs, and an owl like creature who really misunderstood human history. Highly recommended.

Just tons of fun. I will read anything Kimberly Lemming writes.
An over-the-top sci-fi plot with so much spice. Who doesn't want two incredibly hot aliens lusting over you? Why choose just one?
The side characters are all so adorable. I can't wait for more silliness from the Intern.

“Before you, a vine was just a vine. Now I fret over their plans for world domination. You make the mundane precious.”
After the longest few weeks, this book was just what I needed. It is WILD; chaotic, bizarre and endlessly absurd, but in the best way. There are dinosaurs, talking animals, multiple alien species, Tamagotchi’s, evil kings, and much more.
From my experience with monster/ alien romances that include the mate component, insta-love is usually present to some extent. I don’t enjoy the insta-love trope in contemporary romance, but with the forced proximity, life or death situations and typical mate biological component, I will allow it and enjoy it. If I get hit by a dart carrying an alien love potion, gain 2 mates and need to rely on sexy aliens to survive, falling in love during the course of a few days is the least of my problems.
The book is told in single POV from Dory’s perspective as she navigates life on this new planet with 2 alien mates, a talking lion and a talking owl alien bird. Honestly, the whole time I pictured it as a character from Owl Diaries, a series my kids love. Dory handled the situation better than I would and I loved her curious nature, resilience and bravery.
When I read books like this, I am just reminded how uncreative my brain is. I don’t know how Kimberly Lemming thinks of all these things, but WOW. I am so impressed by her unique creativity, humor and imagination. My brain could never.
The humor I enjoyed in My Vampire Plus One by Jenna Levine plus Ruby Dixon’s IPB series gives an approximation of what you can expect in this book. I cannot wait for book 2 because the easter eggs in this one!! GIMME.
Read if you like:
•Alien adventure romances
•MMF triad
•Only one bed
•Talking animals
•Women in stem (fmc is a wildlife biologist)
•Digs at the patriarchy (we should all like this)
•Creative use of Tails
•Creative use of Tamagotchi’s
Thank you to Berkley Romance for the early copy; all thoughts are my own.

I was abducted by Aliens and Now I’m trapped in a Rom-Com is a silly, funny time. Don’t take this too seriously and you’ll have a decent time. For me, This was definitely Lemmings best. It seems she spent a bit more time on her pervious works. Forewarning: If you are not a fan of Romantasy or Cozy-ish fantasy then this will not be your cup of tea.
I was onboard for the first half of the book. It was funny, light, and learning about Dory and her pal Toto was great. I’m a sucker for an animal companion and Toto was everything. I’d honestly love a story of just Toto and his love interest. However, after the abduction and subsequent coupling it fell off for me. I feel like this is a bit insta-lovey to me and when did everything become about knotting???
The back half of the book with the “final boss” antagonist felt rushed and stitched together. The characters don’t feel fleshed out and neither do their relationships. I also could have done without the fifth inning sex scene.
All that being said it’s fun, easy read if you enjoy Romantasy or Cozy fantasy. I’m looking forward to what the rest of the girls stories will be.

I really enjoyed Kimberly Lemming's fantasy trilogy, but this book did not resonate with me as much as those did. I think the sci fi setting did not work for me. It had a certain level of implausibility that I could not get past. That being said, I love this author's sense of humor and writing style, and I felt a kinship here with The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which I loved.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC!

Spice level: 5/5 🌶️’s
Favorite Quote: “Toto, I don’t think we’re on Earth anymore.”

I’m a big fan of Kimberly Lemming’s Mead Mishaps series and I was so excited to see she had a new book set on a distant planet coming out. I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com met and dare I say, exceeded, my expectations. Abducted by Aliens was the perfect weekend read, enjoyed on the porch with a cocktail in hand. Dory, the FMC is a wildlife biologist who cannot fathom the concept of talking Lions, alien lifeforms, or a distant planet inhabited by humans and dinosaurs alike.
As mentioned in the book’s description, this story involves a love trio, but not a triangle! Lok, Sol, and Dory are all involved in this rom-com journey and their participation lends to some extra spicy scenes. I loved the development of their relationship, and despite the dub-con love serum situation, I didn’t feel like anyone was forced into anything. Everyone certainly enjoyed themselves!
There’s also a delightful lion friend named Toto whose sarcasm and matter of fact attitude leads to some hilarious interactions. I think Toto might actually be my favorite character; he’s ready to defend his friends while also passing mild judgment. I could not get enough of him and would love a spin off story about Toto and his romantic partner.
I loved this book and everything Kimberly Lemming writes. I highly recommend I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com and after you finish, pick up That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon because you’ll want to live in her writing brain forever.

This book will be fantastic for fans of Kimberly Lemming's other series Mead Mishaps. It combines the absurdist nature of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, with the open romance genre. It offers humor to lighten your day.

Kimberly Lemming has a knack for coming up with the most bananas (in the best way possible!) storylines! This book is hilarious and so much fun! A talking lion named Toto, dinosaurs, and the best part? A smart, badass female main character! I had anbsolute blast reading this book and recommend it to anyone that loved Kimerly's other books!

This was hilarious and spicy and just a funny goofy good time. It was so cute and I honestly loved everything about this. Dory has not one, but two love interests??? TWO?? Yes, please give me more of this. MORE. Please.

I just love everything from Kimberly Lemming- these books are the perfect mix of lighthearted + chaos + spice and i just eat them up!! This one is my favorite of hers so far. I really enjoyed the pacing and the dialogue- Dory is such a fun FMC! Also, alien 👽 spice is next level (x 2??!). 3.75 ⭐️

KL’s books are endlessly funny and this one truly had me cracking up. It’s a little unhinged, but I mean that in the best way possible. And the spice? HAWT. I loved this, even though the pacing was a bit weird at times. The last chunk felt a bit rushed / was full speed ahead while the beginning of the book was more focused on them just being on this planet/trying to figure each other out. The overarching plot/characters probably could’ve been spread out a little more throughout.
Highlights:
- Rom-com
- Fated mates
- Forced proximity
- Only one bed
Thank you Berkley for the free paperback & eARC 🫶🏼 decision to read/review was my own. Opinion is my own.

So we finally know what it would look like if one asked the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy to write porn.
Overall, a fast-paced romp, largely because Lemming tosses weirdness after weirdness too rapidly to get your bearings, but most are charming and funny. Toto became one of my favorite parts of the book, and Intern was an entertaining antagonist.
The few twists are worthwhile, though the political machinations at the end felt too tacked on.
Now to the part I didn't love: The sex scenes. I do not object to them being in the book--that is the point of it--or that they involve suction tails between different species. Why write alien sex if one is going to be limited in appendages and orifices, after all? My issue is that whenever arousal appears--which it does within a sentence and occasionally on a dinosaur--it is as though Lok and Sol leave the scene, and their obnoxious stunt doubles sub in. Their personalities vaporize into a unified cloud of "Grr, I'm a dom! You bad little girl!" Outside that, the characters are distinct, and their interplay is entertaining. The sex didn't seem to have much bearing on the plot eventually, and my eyes started slipping over the sentences until it seemed the story would resume. Sex should be somewhat load-bearing (hush) in the story, and I did not get that feeling often enough.
I felt a surge to knock a star off being of the epilogue, specifically the last line, but I won't.

All the chaos, but in the best way! I was struggling to read with my eyes, so I bought the book with an audio credit. And I was fully immersed the whole time. Plus, it made it a bit easier to differentiate who all the characters were. Overall, I thought it was a fun and quick read once I jumped on the audio bandwagon. And I'm definitely excited to read more from this world and series!
Bravo to Berkley for having Kimberly bring us more of her amazing work!

I had the best time reading this book!!!!! Kimberly Lemmings can do no wrong in my eyes!!! I had so much fun with this story. From Toto the talking lion, intern the biwban bird, and Dori’s two love interest Lok and Sol I was hooked from page one That mating scene was 🥵🥵🥵. If you’re looking for a sexy, funny alien romcom look no further and read this!!! Highly recommend audiobook the narrator did such a good job!

Lemming follows the formula she’s become known for, of course, with a bit of a twist as she explores some new and interesting ideas that will definitely keep you on your toes. Without the constraints of some preconceived “rules” in fantasy, venturing into sci-fi allowed Lemming to get even more creative, playing with DNA and exploring unique new species. Ahem, in her usual fashion.

Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the ARC of this title.
I loved Kimberly Lemming's other books and enjoyed the balance of wild funny adventure with hot steamy romance, but this one just didn't work as well for me. I found the pacing to be really off and I think that it would have been nice to have not just our heroine's POV but also the male love interests' POV. Dory is a wildlife biologist who is abducted and taken to an alien planet and there's not a moment of rest as there are dinosaurs, a lion named Toto, and two fated mates for Dory in Lok and Sol. There is chaos on this planet that some aliens have tried to design for humans but gotten many details wrong which is amusing. The issues for me are two: I didn't feel the connection between the characters and there was such whiplash between action/adventure scenes and steamy scenes that I had trouble getting invested.
I'm so glad that a poly romance with fated mates written by a Black author is getting published by Berkley and it is a silly goofy fun time, but this was a let down for me. Still will look out for what this author writes next.

It started off super strong just like every Kimberly lemming books and i had tons of expectations. After 70% or so, the plot derailed and changed--leaving me wondering how things moved so soon? It was a heartbreaking experience because I was comepltely sure I'd love it. The why choose part was fun and i loved the side cahracters a lot too.

This is my first book by Kimberly Lemming and it was quite the wild ride. The plot elements were pretty bonkers. Let's see, there's the alien abduction just as Dory, the FMC, is being killed by an attacking lion, the accidental universal translator that not only allows her to talk to the various aliens she encounters (after she kisses them) but also gives the lion the ability to talk, the two hot aliens (complete with horns and prehensile tails), oh, and did I mention the never ending parade of dinosaurs on the alien planet she (and the lion) crash on?
Underneath all the wild escapades, there actually was more world-building than there often is in these alien abduction stories. The backstory as to why Dory and the alien guys ended up on the planet was a bit reminiscent of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and followed a strange kind of internal logic. Dory was intelligent and kicka**, refusing to give up no matter what the darned planet threw at her and it was all fun to read. I wasn't a huge fan of the spicy scenes, but that's on me as I don't usually read menages. My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.

This book had me laugh crying, laughing loudly, in the mood (thank you spicy scenes) and laughing more. Kimberly Lemming did it again. She is a phenomenal Paranormal Romance author and this is a must read. Between the Bibwan (Bird Aliens), Toto the Lion, and the Alien Mates… Dory had more than enough on her hand to also be dealing with dinosaurs. The banter was on key, the sex scenes were spiiiiiicy, and the character arcs were really well rounded. I want more.
