This book had me snort laughing in public. It was hilarious and so entertaining and it was the perfect escape from reality.
It’s like a cross between Jurassic Park and Ice Planet Barbarians and it’s MFM, and I freaking loved it. This was definitely the most bonkers thing I’ve read in a long time. (Bonkers in a good way!)
I’m so curious to see where this series goes and I’m super excited to read more books by this author.
Thank you to Berkley for letting me read an early copy in exchange for a review.

Honest Netgalley ARC Review: This hilarious, fast paced, steamy, scifi romance was an absolute five star read! I had the time of my life reading this crazy story! Dory is just minding her business studying meerkats when her life gets completely flipped upside down. Being attacked by a lion and abducted by aliens was not what she had planned for the day. When her and her new feline partner escape and crash on a different planet they are not prepared for the local wildlife. Dory is now face to face with dinosaurs, hot aliens, deadly plants, a ginormous bull frog, and did I forget to mention she can talk with the lion. This wild adventure of a story was very fast paced and exciting. It kept me on my toes wondering what wild thing would happen next. All the main and side characters were unique, funny, and memorable. The romance in this book was hot and heavy without overtaking the story. The banter and sexual tension between these three was so tantalizing. Dory was absolutely hilarious and the star of this book. Everything was thrown at her and somehow she figured it out. Her character was relatable, funny, and zesty. Read this book if you love alien romance, forced mate bond, a truly wild setting, characters you will love, MMF relationship, knotting, and a wild, exciting story.

Ever since I read the 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘀 series, it was clear anything Kimberly Lemming writes, I’ll absolutely read. This one was definitely a highly anticipated read for me in 2025 and I was beyond excited to get an early arc access thanks to @berkleyromance ! I had so much fun reading along as Dory goes from observing meerkats in the wild to getting dropped onto this weird planet with a talking lion, two hot aliens and a whole whack of dinosaurs. This book is quirky, hilarious and just a ridiculously fun monster romance read. I loved the pull to get back home while also being intrigued about the two hot aliens and why this planets ecosystem works when it really shouldn’t, from Dory’s wildlife biologist perspective. This over the top story had me laughing, blushing, wondering about aliens…ANYWAYS…If you haven’t read Kimberly Lemmings novels or monster romances and want a fun introduction into it, definitely pick up this why chose 𝗝𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 meets 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝘇 story!

HAPPY PUB DAY!!!!
This book was everything I expected and more! I did not read the synopsis, so honestly I had no idea what to expect beyond the title and blurb, but it did NOT disappoint! This book was pure chaos wrapped in an Alien Jurassic Park world. I could tell Kimberly Lemming had the best time writing this, because it spilled from the pages. I, too, had the best time reading this.
I honestly have no idea how to break down the synopsis (especially without spoiling anything), so I'm not even going to try. What I WILL tell you is that this was funny, this was fun, this was weird, this was HOT, and it was just generally a fast paced adventurous time. I support Dory and her hot alien men. I enjoyed learning about how this world came to be and how Dory got there.
Things I loved:
- The throuple and how they came to be
- The spice was spicin' (Although, not going to lie, I expected there to be more)
- Just generally how bizarre this was. I literally could not anticipate one single thing about this book and it was a delight to see what came next.
- I loved understanding just how bizarre and strange things were based on Dory's knowledge as a wildlife biologist.
- Lok was such a flirt. I loved him. Sol slowly grew on me.
Areas of improvement (in my personal opinion):
- More internal dialogue. The only time we got insight into Dory's thoughts were when she spoke. I wish we could have seen more reflection via internal thoughts.
- I would have loooooved another pov, but I get it. Dual pov's can be tough to write.
- Some of the action scenes were hard to follow. Sometimes I got lost between how they got from point a to point b
This looks like it's going to be a series, so you bet your booty I will be continuing this series when the next one graces this planet.

Happy release day!! Thanks so much to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the DRC!
I didn't realize this was just one of the first in this series until 90% into the story and I'm so excited for what is next. This is uncharted territory so there is so much world to explore. Kimberly Lemming has done it again and I'm sold on the premise and relationship grouping. <spoiler> Except, Intern really thinks Blair and the King can get over their issues in couples counseling? HAH. </spoiler>
This had so many parts that I wasn't entirely sure would work but I enjoyed the out-of-boxness of it all. I've read many fantasy romance but never a sci-fi romance, so this was an interesting treat. This must have taken a lot of research to set up Dorothy as a PHD student and the multiple references to AI and research. Those parts felt so relatable, especially as we enter a more alarming world of information literacy.
Toto was the best! Every scene he was in had me giggling; especially the part where Dory was drowning and had a fictional conversation with him. He was the best sidekick and I need the details on him and his queen. Also, Dory being in his pride is hilarious. He's so judgmental but prideful of her.
<spoiler> Seeing Dory solve/stop a huge fight with observational skills from her work cracked me up. Instead of trying to stand your ground and kill everything, simply moving was the best option. Although they all got caught in the end by the weirdo aliens, Dory knocking him out felt so satisfying. </spoiler>
I'm not sure where this series will go but I'm along for the ride!

Kimberly Lemming's I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com was the perfect palate cleanser I needed after a string of heavy historical fiction and thrillers. The title alone, coupled with its wonderfully wild cover, promised a fun ride, and Lemming delivered in spades. While I'm new to the alien romance/sci-fi romance genre, this book has definitely made me a convert.
Lemming, a veteran of the genre, introduces us to Dorothy "Dory" Valentine, a wildlife biology PhD candidate whose life takes a sharp left turn when, after a near-fatal lion encounter, she's abducted by aliens. Things go from bizarre to downright chaotic when Dory, along with the very lion that attacked her, escapes in a pod and crash-lands on a dinosaur-infested alien planet. Yes, you read that right: dinosaurs.
From there, the story unfolds at a breakneck pace, a whirlwind of hilarious situations, alien love serums, and otherworldly landscapes. Lemming perfectly balances the "rom" and the "com," creating a truly laugh-out-loud experience. The humor is spot-on, and the situations Dory finds herself in are both absurd and endearing. This isn't a book you read for deep philosophical insights; it's a book you pick up when you want pure, unadulterated fun. And let's be honest, that cover art? It's the perfect visual representation of the wild ride within.
The "trapped in a rom-com" aspect of the title is no joke. Dory finds herself navigating the complexities of not one, but two alien love interests, adding another layer of comedic chaos to the mix. The romantic elements are definitely present, and Lemming doesn't shy away from spice, making this a read for those who enjoy a bit of heat with their humor.
I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com is high-octane entertainment from start to finish. It's the kind of book you can devour in one sitting, leaving you with a smile on your face. My thanks to Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book. Kimberly Lemming has earned a new fan, and I'll definitely be checking out more of her work in the future.

I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com by Kimberly Lemming is an absolutely bananas, fun & astonishing spicy rom-com that takes place on an alien planet & literally has talking lions, bears & dinosaurs, oh mylanta! There’s also Tamagotchis, banter, humor & an intriguing, curious & entertaining heroine that’s almost obtained her PhD in wildlife biology, which I found so fascinating.
This is book #1 in the Cosmic Chaos series & what a start it is.
I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com is great for those looking to read…
👽 Spicy Rom-Com
👽 Set in an Alien Planet
👽 Forced Proximity
👽 Only One Bed
👽 Lions, Dinosaurs & Bears, Oh My!
I had so much love for the lion character of Toto. They provided so much entertainment.
If you’re looking for an unexpected wild ride of escapism that will take you on an adventure where you legitimately never know where it’s going next, this is the absolutely perfect recommendation for you!
Massive thanks to NetGalley & Berkley Publishing for the gifted copy, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.

I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped In a Rom Com
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Happy pub day! 🤍
I had a wild time with this one! No joke, I would read and think “how much more outlandish can this get?” 😂 and then the next thing would happen and it would make me laugh out loud or it would cause me to tear up. I really enjoyed following along Dory as she and Toto get swooped up and placed on a new planet with all kinds of creatures across historical periods of times including dinosaurs and giant land sloths and some very sexy aliens with horns and tail. I was swoon y’all. Lok and Sol have my heart. Toto my favorite feline friend. Dory is intelligent, resourceful and brave, and definitely the girl I’d want to be abducted into outer space with 😂 I thought the story was clever and funny and had a good time reading this one 🫶🏼
I can wait for yall to experience IGABAANITIARC 🦖🦁✨

I’m not a huge romance reader, but Kimberly Lemming has become one of those auto-buy authors for me. Her books are the perfect mix of humor, adventure, and cozy vibes—with a side of spice, of course. I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com is exactly what it sounds like in the best possible way: absolutely ridiculous, wildly entertaining, and full of the kind of chaotic fun that only she can pull off.
And look, this book was already a five-star read for me the moment I realized there was a talking lion sidekick. I mean, duh.
Oh, and did I mention there are dinosaurs? Because yes, this book also throws dinosaurs into the mix, and somehow, it all just works.
When it comes to romance, I can go from a closed-door love story to a full-on spicy read, but most of the time, I prefer mine on the lighter or closed-door side. That said, I actually really enjoyed the spice in this one—it worked for the story and the characters, and I was fully on board… until the last spicy scene. By that point, I had kind of hit my limit, and I won’t lie, I skimmed through it just to get back to the plot. But overall, the romance (and the ridiculous way the aliens used romance novels as their guide to matchmaking) had me laughing the whole way through.
From the opening scenes on Earth, where Dory is just trying to do her job (studying meerkats, which was honestly adorable), to waking up on an alien spaceship and realizing her kidnappers are basically using rom-com science to get her to fall in love, I was hooked. The one-bed trope? Hysterical. The way the aliens tried to engineer the perfect romance using human dating “research”? Honestly genius.
If you love Ice Planet Barbarians or just want a spicy, laugh-out-loud sci-fi romp, this one’s for you. Huge thanks to Kimberly Lemming, NetGalley, and the Berkeley publishing group for the ARC—my opinions are all my own (though I think we can all agree that talking animal companions and dinosaurs automatically make books better).

📚 Read if you like: alien romance, MMF, sci-fi romance, only one bed, mates, knotting, spicy books
⭐️ Rating: 3.5/5
Happy pub day! Ok so I absolutely devoured her fantasy romance Mead Mishaps series so I couldn’t wait to read this sci-fi romcom! Y’all know I love a ridiculous premise and this sure fit the bill: an alien breeding program, a talking lion, a bird intern, alien tails with suction, and a pink trex. I didn’t really emotionally connect to this one but it was funny, there was good action and a few moments where I couldn’t put the book down. Since there’s a chemical that makes them mates, it is dubcon and insta-lusty but the spice was a lot of fun! While this one may not have blown me away, I’m very interested to see where the rest of this series goes! Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was a wild ride… literally. I have never read a monster romance so this was the craziest thing I have ever read. We follow Dory as she is a wildlife scientist and then she gets abducted by aliens and then she finds herself best friends with a lion named ToTo and she has 2 alien mates?! This was also my first intro to Kimberly Lemming’s writing and I enjoyed her writing style and the pace of the story. I giggled a lot during this story and I wouldn’t say I’m not intrigued to try another monster romance.

This book was an absolutely bonkers experience and I had a delightful time with it. This was exactly the type of wild shenanigans I needed to destress. Nothing does it for me quite like a monster romance and this book delivered so hard. I was cracking up and highlighting parts on every page. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the harried intern try to complete his research project while this random human and two aliens stubbornly refuse to comply in the way he expected. This book is exactly what the title tells you it is. If it sounds like something you'd be interested in then definitely check this one out because I had devoured it in one sitting! I'm hoping there will be more in this series because I'm very intrigued to see what will happen to some of the side characters.

I love Kimberly Lemming's books DOWN!! And this was no exception. How does her world's keep getting crazier and more hilarious?? Like I was seated the entire time I picked this up!
This is all from Dorothy's pov and I loved that and I'm usually a multi pov lover for romance books but everything was so crazy that having just her perspective worked so well.
Also for her not to have one alien mates but TWO!? this is the greed they talk about in the bible!! But I love how the love interested both fell in love with Dorothy and started to care for each other too despite tryna jump each other to begin with. Oh Lok and Sol I love you both 🫶🏿
The talking lion HELP ME why was he so funny?? Literally any scene he was in and when he would speak would make me laugh out loud.
The series isn't called cosmic chaos for nothing though cause when the action was starting it was fast paced and had me so engaged. I may have been gasping here and there.
And the spicy scenes. WHEW!! You ever just stare off into a corner while reading one and think....u with that was you huh?
I'm so excited for book number 2 (I think there's supposed to be a 2nd book if not make it so!)

As I was reading this very chaotic journey I had two thoughts this is very reminiscent of early Kimberly Lemmings writing and the second thought was the best way to describe this book is Jurassic Park meets Ice Planet Barbarian. However, what I found most interesting is how Kimberly Lemming has a way of writing very camp books while weaving in things for the reader to think about. For instance, alien romance works off the premise that human women are being positioned to repopulate another planet without their consent. As a reader how do you reconcile that to get to the HEA? Yeah, I'll be thinking about this some more.

a SOLID 4.5 stars!!
this book is honestly so fun!! it's definitely out of this world, but like that's what i signed up for when i started it 🤭 this was my first book by kimberly lemming, so i wasn't quite sure what to expect, but let me tell you, i had a great time!! it was funny! it was wild! it was spicyyyy. definitely recommend for anyone who wants to read monster romance and have a good time!
thank you Berkley Romance, Berkley Pub & Netgalley for the arc & the finished copy! this is my honest review.

A zany, erotic sci-fi romance with dinosaurs and talking lions? Count. Me. IN!
I had so much dang fun reading this! This is the first book of Kimberly Lemming's new Cosmic Chaos series. I originally found and fell in love with Lemming's writing through the Mead Mishaps series. She has such a fun, quick-witted style that instantly makes you feel connected to the characters. This book is jam-packed with equally hilarious and lovable characters, mixed with constant non-stop zany adventures.
There are some disclaimers to this one though, because the romance in this book may not be for everyone. First, it's extra EXTRA spicy (you have been warned, wink wink). There are also some romance tropes that could turn some folks away, so please check trigger warnings before diving in. But if you're down for a surprise, get ready for a wild ride and bucketloads of smut!
Overall, this was such a fun book that doesn't take itself too seriously. I adore Lemming and cannot wait to read all the wonderful, spicy hilarity that she brings into this world!
Thank you to Berkley for a complimentary review copy of this title.

Lemming’s books are always such a fun and lighthearted read and this one is no exception. I wasn’t sure how the sci-fi setting would work (given that the others have been fantasy), but it was such a fun read! Dorothy Valentine is on her way to finishing her PhD in wildlife biology when suddenly everything goes sideways. Attacked by a lion and then waking up aboard an alien spaceship, crash landing with said lion onto an alien planet with dinosaurs and hot alien men, and none of the plants or strange human objects on this planet being quite right, she’s got a lot to deal with while deciding if she wants to go back home. Toto (the lion) quickly became one of my favorite characters and the rushed research/nepotism arc felt too relatable!
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

“Getting a pep talk from a lion was not how I expected my day to go”
Kimberly Lemming is an author I picked up by chance maybe 2023? Simply because of the name of her books. I mean, they are masterful in themselves. I met her at @loveyall last year and thought, “I will absolutely follow this author into anything they write” so here we are 2025, and I’m still heeding to that thought.
Lemming’s books are a genre in themselves for me. They’re part whimsical fantasy, part cozy fantasy, part romcom, part romantasy. Very cottage core with a big ole dollop of snark. Alien RomCom (how I shorten it) follows this fun recipe of sass, badass, spice, and romance. Read the warnings in the front. There’s a nonconsensual bit, but I read the warnings and said ok.
I love the nod to Oz. Our FMC is named Dorothy, she names the lion on the trek with her Toto, and well, she does try to click her shoes 3 times to escape. (It doesn’t work) The comedic timing was hilarious. They’re trying to escape and then try to get down and sorry. Dory’s response is hilarious and what I think is Lemming’s signature style. It’s a why choose situation x fated mates and the why choose is a choice! Loved Kimberly Lemming as always. Out Tuesday!
QOTD: What are you starting the week of reading?

And now it’s time for chaos, comedy, and a lot of alien anatomy. ... The book is fast-paced and easy to read, featuring a cast of quirky characters around Dorothy, including Sol, the soft but skilled Sankado hunter, Lok, the danger-boy warrior, Toto the Lion, who is basically the Tairn of this story, and the alien scientist owl-creature called Intern. Each of them adds to the overall charm and humor of the story but they're not characters who make me feel what they're feeling; they play out more like avatars in a sexy video game. However, the found family dynamic between Dorothy and her ragtag group of misfits is endearing amidst all the madness. That unrelenting silliness makes it a solid pick for anyone who needs to escape from the real world. Just be ready to wander into “lol that's random” territory.
Let's talk about the romance. It has a heat rating of 8 million on the Scoville scale, but the swoon levels weren't enough to feed my emotional Tamagotchi. Dorothy stumbles and falls headfirst into the why-choose trope, but I struggled to choose the Sankado. Lemming's creativity is undeniable, but these scaly MMCs are a bizarre cocktail of lizard, satyr, and vacuum cleaner, with tails that, um… suck things. There's also a non-consensual aphrodisiac moment that sliced more swoon off the romance. While handled carefully, it might not sit well with every reader. And yet, for the adventurous, this book isn't afraid to test readers' comfort zones or to create a spicy human centipede. Forget your fave sandwich cookie, this is sandwich nookie.
There's no denying the laughs or the world-building in a Kimberly Lemming book, but I didn't come out of I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com feeling the love. I giggled a lot though. Despite not quite hitting the highs of the Mead Mishaps series, I'm interested in where the Cosmic Chaos series will go next. I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I'm Trapped in a Rom-Com is an entertaining and unapologetically wild start. Fans of Lemming's will get the humor and chaos we crave and newcomers should prep for a spicy, unhinged adventure that is all gas, no brakes. This book isn't as universal as the previous series, but it's an out-of-this-world romp, that's good for a joyride (and some double-stuffed sandwich nookie).

I Got Abducted By Aliens And Now I’m Trapped In A Romcom, is the first book in The Cosmic Chaos series by Kimberly Lemming. In the book we meet scientist Dorry. right before she is attacked by a lion, her and the lion who she’ll Eventually call Toto gets abducted by aliens. she escapes to a planet that at first she thinks may be earth but when she sees the strange creatures in pink Tyrannosaurus rexs, she knows she is far from the planet She calls home. Unfortunately, for Dori, things are about to get much worse. She will be force to take a serum and instead of having one want to be suitor, she will have to… What’s a girl to do trapped on a strange planet with two strong men vying for her attention? I am not familiar with Throuple romances not in my personal life nor in my book reading, but having said that it said it was humorous, so I was down to read it plus, I love a good alien romance. Although there were many times throughout the book. I thought it went from funny to silly not to mention they’re weren’t that many swoony moments. Also, I believe saying you’re in love with two people equally is like saying you don’t have a favorite child, but having said that I would still recommend this book. It is quirky although at times they do lower their self to bathroom humor and very detailed sex scenes but as I know some people like that, I’m not writing it as a negative just something I personally didn’t like in the book. Unless the next book involves a throuple, then I will probably read it. I was given this book to read it as an ark and hopefully to give personal opinions about what I’ve read and that is definitely what this is. #NetGalley, #BerkeleyPublishing, #TheBlindReviewer,#KimberlyLemming, #CosmicChaos, #IGotAbductedByAliensAndNowI’mTrappedin a romcom,.
