I absolutely love the Fool’s Gold series and looked for each new book as it came out. I tend to enjoy books about families or best friends, but rarely do I love a whole town. These books keep a lot of the old characters around while slowly bringing in new ones to prepare for their story, and by then you are eagerly awaiting it. Though there is admittedly more than enough people that keeping track of everyone is not easy, you do feel as much a part of the place as the characters learn to.
There is not much to say about the plot other than it worked well. Though there is nothing new about the storyline used, it puts forth a lovely story about characters we have been dying to know more about. Taryn’s interaction with friends and Angel being a grove leader is more fascinating than the pair’s relationship, yet it is those things that seem to drive their romance. This tale did not need to be plot-driven when it is full of such great characters who will gladly bring you into this little piece of their lives.

When We Met was such a cute and fast read for me. Most of Susan Mallery's books are ones that I connect with fast and just devour. Her plot for this one just hit home for me and I couldn't get enough. Another fantastic read/book from a fantastic author.

It's always fun to see a Beauty and the Beast trope. It's always interesting how authors depict females and males when opposites attract. That is the case for When We Met by Susan Mallery. An ex-football pro and an established business woman are definitely a meeting of the minds. Both with strong personalities, in a hate to love way.
Being in a long series, there are going to be a lot of similar storylines. I read the Fool's Gold series for comfort and fluff. And while there may be a bit of angst for these couples, I enjoy them because I know I'll get my HEA.
