My thoughts of this is torn. Nick Mondelli and Renee Thorn did an amazing job! They dual narrated this multi-POV with perfection. I found myself captures in just listening to their smooth voices without the weird *deep breathing* and/or *human noises* I have previous experienced while listening to audiobooks.

The story itself is going to be either you love it or hate it or it just hit you at the right time as a mood reader. When I first started this, I wasn’t loving it, I wasn’t in a spicy driven novel mood. So I did place it aside to give the story a chance.

This is heavily spiced, the world building lacked, the character development was *okay* and the overall plot was meh. If you love or are in the mood for just straight spicy content with a dragon shifter and a human fighting a mating bond in a more unique way then I’ve ever read. Give it a shot, it’s 283 pages and in KU now!

I don’t know what I was expecting when I requested this audiobook ,but I didn’t think that I would love it this much. Completely binge worthy and definitely something that. I can listen to time and again. After triggering the mating bond between them while in a coffee shop she is whisked away to his cabin so that they can beat the mating call and and not bond. Parts of the book was a little cliche, but I still enjoyed the story. They work as a team to keep from bonding with each other cause he is fated to go to prison for 6 months and he did not want to take her with due to bonding with her.

5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First: New to me author, and as soon as I was finished, I went to see what else she had written because I could NOT turn the book off.
Second: I wish there was more of the series out already because I can see this series being like chips devouring them one after another. The characters, this world, were just so easy to dive into.

Elody & August

Elody is a human and when she sees a woman being confronted by a man a supernatural man a dragon she can't sit idly by while it happens. Her past has shown her she needs to interject. But in doing so she has just changed not only her life but August's as well. Dragons can't predict when or if they will send a human and themselves into heat so that is why they avoid them…

I loved the meet! I loved August's reaction he was so stoic it was almost unnerving, and I think paired with Elody's quizzical nature it was kinda awesome.

Yes, we have forced proximity, will we find out if she is his one and only?
Only time and their determination will we find out.

That ending though… I don't know that I have listened to a dragon shifter book that I enjoyed this much if I am being honest.

Both narrators do a phenomenal job of giving life to these characters. I could NOT stop listening from the time I pressed play I was sucked into this wonderful world. I need and want more of it ASAP, please?!?

An erotic dragon shifter romance erotica! What is not to love? Nothing was cringy to me. I like the spicy scenes and the plot. I liked how short it was too, speedy read. Overall, it was a great pick!

Thank you to Dreamscape and NetGalley for the audio arc. All opinions are my own.

This is a fairly quick read of a sudden “spark” of a bond between Elodie and August. I’m assuming this book is part of a world this author has created but she did a good job explaining the other people and relationships.

Overall I liked the narrators, but due to the voice used for Elodie I was convinced she was a man for the first couple chapters.

I'm not usually a fan of mated bonds because it feels too much like a lack of consent, but this was a nice twist on the trope. Elody and August, the dragon-shifter, are determined to fight their bond, or at least give it their best shot. When the "heat" gets to be too hot, they have to give in a little to get through. It doesn't seem like they are ever really denying themselves, but it still makes for some 🔥🔥🔥 scenes.

Never Fall for a Dragon is the first in a series of dragon-shifter romances.

Elody steps outside, sees this man, and he immediately whisks her off to his cabin for mate reasons.
August is a dragon shifter who knows his mate when he sees her.

Their meeting sets off "heat," which affects both of them. They have to resist this because he's supposed to go to jail for six months, and if they complete the bond she would have to go with him.

The plot of this book doesn't make much sense, but I really liked all the supporting characters. August has a sister who's married to a cool demon, and Elody has a group of friends who really care about her. Mention is made of a demon-run vampire-hunting organization that sounds really interesting. So this book wasn't my favorite, but I like the world and am interested in reading future installments.

Nick Mondelli and Renee Thorn are both expert narrators who do an excellent job with this book.

Thanks to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for access to an early audio copy of this book.

This is a SPICY book with a tiny bit of plot, and I was here for it. 🔥🤭 3.5 stars rounded down because I wish there was a bit more plot and humor in the story. 🌟

If you want a paranormal romcom with forced proximity, a lot of romance, a bit of comedy, dragons, and a big bucket of spice, this will be perfect for you!

The author wastes no time and throws you into the action right away. You kind of just learn about everything as the story goes along, but essentially, it's fun and easily understandable with a happy ending.

The narrators for the audiobook did an absolutely amazing job—I would highly recommend getting this book in an audio format!

Thank you, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, for this audiobook ARC! All opinions are my own.

Thanks to NetGalley, Lola Glass and Dreamscape Media for an ARC of the new audiobook! Exactly what I was looking for to break up my recent reads: a steamy, low stakes, fated mates romance. Well narrated with dual POV. Was the writing incredible? No, but that’s not what I expect from a series like this. The ebook is available on KU for those that want to read & listen!

This was exactly what I hoped it would be! A low-stakes, steamy romance with fated mates and some serious protector vibes. I flew through this, and the audiobook was really enjoyable. I thought the female narrator seemed to pause between words too often, which was distracting at times, but overall this book was great.

Thank you Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for my gifted ALC.

I was intrigued by the Dragon shifter mate piece of the story, but as I got into it, I realized it wasn’t my cup of tea.

What I liked:
It’s a Dual POV and the audio readers did a great job. The 2 main characters cared for each other even though they were thrown together in this strange mated heat situation.

What I didn’t like:
I read a variety of spice level books but this one is spice over plot without a lot of character development. I’m sure others will love it. It just wasn’t for me.

Thank you for the opportunity to preview it.

This was a nice easy listen. I enjoyed both narrators and the plot was easy to follow. Elody is 99% of the time practical and level headed about the whole thing, which made me not roll my eyes terribly at some of the tropes. I am a sucker for forced proximity though.

thanks netgalley, the author, and the publisher for the audioARC of this one. to start with the positives, i really liked the narrators. the cadence was good and their voices really fit the storyline. as for the not so positives, this book was not for me. i love a wattpad-y, paranormal romance but this one just fell flat in my eyes. i wanted more, but after perusing goodreads it seems there’s already quite the audience that loved it. tldr; not a fan but many others are!

Ooh, this was a spicy romantasy and I cannot wait for the next novel in this series! Is the next novel going to focus on the same characters or will we get to meet other Dragons in heat? Either way, I enjoyed the ride, pun intended.

Nick Mondelli and Renee Thorn did a great job narrating this novel and I hope they get to continue narrating the series.

Never Fall for a Dragon is a quick whirlwind Romantasy with an emphasis on the Romance.
Dragon gang leader August is forced to give up his management role and go to prison for 6 months due to making a deal with rival gang, the Villains. Human Elody demonstrates her Karen-status by not minding her own business while procrastinating writing an essay or something at a coffee shop and interrupting a verbal sibling squabble, mistakenly igniting an intense mating bond with the disgraced dragon gang leader.
Two thirds of this book is a forced proximity, try not to consummate the bond (but don't try too hard!), cabin in the woods with plastic house plants, and the final third is like an actual episode of Prison Wives.
It was cringey and absolutely hilarious. I enjoyed reading this in less than a day.
Both narrators did a great job, in my opinion. Renee Thorn was especially effective with her conversational approach to Elody's situation making it as believable as possible.
Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this ARC!

The narration is good and kept the story engaging. The spice level is a 4, it has some very hot moments.
Elody is a sweet and very understanding person. Shes not afraid to take risk as long as she has some sort of plan. August is honest and caring. He isn’t afraid to share his feeling when asked. However, if you don’t ask he just assumes you know. He is always mindful of their situation and try’s to help her, keep her calm and as pain free has he can.
This story is a great forced proximity. The story moved at a steady pace. I didn’t have any bored moments while listening to this. Having dual narrators made the book even more enjoyable.
* Overall, it’s a 4. It’s a good PRN romance and easy to fall into.

Never Fall for a Dragon is a fun, steamy and a bit spicy romance wrapped in a fantastical world. Lola Glass has crafted a captivating tale with August and Elody, a dragon shifter and his human mate with undeniable chemistry. Their desire to thwart to mating bond keeps things interesting. The world-building is imaginative and adds depth to the story. I can't wait for the stories of the side characters. Fans of paranormal romance will definitely enjoy this fiery read. Glad I was given and A R C and able to find this author and a series that I bet I'll follow all the way through!

I received an audiobook arc of this book through NetGalley and its publishers.

I gave this book 4 stars.

This is a dragon shifter paranormal book about August and Elodie. While August is a dragon shifter, Elodie is human.

While Elodie is studying at a diner, her scent and contact makes August go into heat. They were complete strangers but due to this, they were both going to be going into pain and extreme sexual frustration for 4 weeks if they chose not to consummate the bond. If they do have sex, they will be bonded for life. While August tries to convince Elodie they can restrain, he also admits he’s only ever known of one shifter to restrain, and he and the girl ended up falling in love anyways.

Elodie then has to go stay with August at his cabin for those 4 weeks until the desire has stopped. She lets her friends know what is going on, and August’s demon sister is also there to help.

A lot can happen in 4 weeks, and we get to see exactly how the two main characters deal with their temptations as well as other crazy things in this forced proximity book.

I really enjoyed this! I was sweet with some spice, and easy to follow and get hooked in. This is only the first in the Mate Mountain series, and I will definitely be continuing on with this series.
